High on Life Trophy & Achievement Guide

high on life trophy achievement guide

Welcome to the High on Life Trophy and Achievement guide!

5/10 Estimated Difficulty
15 – 20 Estimated Hours to Completion.
1 Minimum Story Playthrough
8 Missable Trophies/Achievements

Everything here, can be earned in a single playthrough, but there are some missables to look out for. Outside of those, there are a lot of story related Trophies/Achievements and collectibles. The collectibles are not missable. There is free roam after beating the story, so you can clean up non missables post game.

There are also no difficulty related Trophies/Achievements. So feel free to play through the game on whatever difficulty you’d like.

Missables

As previously mentioned, there are seven missable Trophy/Achievements to keep an eye out for and they will be listed below in the order that you can earn them.

  • Fallout Doesn’t Let you Do This
  • Don’t Knife the Hand That Feeds
  • A Starfish is Born – Multi-step Trophy/Achievement that needs to be started early.
  • Gunning For Your Job
  • Carried Stan’s Load to Completion
  • Eatin’ Good in the Neighborhood
  • Playing Favorites

Just a couple of notes for two missable here. For A Starfish is Born, buy the drum from the Pawn shop as early as you can and give it to Globo and his dad in Blim City. Each time you complete a bounty, go speak with Globo’s dad after giving him the drum. You’ll need to keep doing this until you see Globo on TV. As for Gunning for Your Job, you will be given the choice of killing Douglas or Krubis. In order to not miss this, you must kill Douglas first in order to get Sweezy. When you have Sweezy, then you can go after Krubis.

There is an eighth missable, but it is seemingly a temporary one. This is “Mods Please Ban.” The reason it is missable is due to a bug. It is possible that certain enemy types will stop spawning post game. You can get around this by restarting checkpoints during enemy encounters while playing through the story or wait for a patch.

Warped

As you play through the bounties, there will be enemy bases that warp in. There will be a red message on screen that will tell you when this is happening. When you see this, make sure you kill all of the enemies in these and pick up the Warp Crystal inside of the base. You’re going to need 31 of these Warp Crystals in order to earn the “Seeing All The Sights” Trophy/Achievement.

If you don’t have enough Warp Crystals, you can farm these post game.

Go ahead and fast travel to Zephyr Paradise > Jungle Clearing. From the warp door, look around to your right and you’ll see two green waterfalls side by side. Run toward those waterfalls and two Warp Bases will spawn.

  • Kill the enemies
  • Take the Warp Crystals
  • Go back through the warp door back to your house
  • Go through the warp door back to Jungle Clearing and repeat the process.

Glitched

*Update* “Mods Please Ban” has been patched as of January 13, 2023.

Unfortunately, the Trophy/Achievement “Mods Please Ban.”

Playing Card to Get” was glitched, but has been patched and is now working correctly.

 Call Your Loved Ones

Hey, you got all the trophies. And that’s great. But people have been asking about you. Are you okay?

Fallout Doesn't Let You Do This Fallout Doesn’t Let You Do This

Kill Slumsley.

MISSABLE

This can be earned near the beginning of the game.

You will need to head through the Slums in order to reach your first bounty. As you run through the Slums, Slumsley will step out in front of you and speak to you.

You’ll automatically acquire Knifey as you make your way to 9-Torg.

First Bounty Down First Bounty Down

Defeat 9-Torg.

This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.

9-Torg will be the first boss you face. It’s a pretty basic fight. Keep firing on her while dodging her attacks. The laser she shoots can be dodged by jumping. When she sinks the platform under the waste, press / to use Knifey to reach the grapple points above you and circle the arena until the platform returns. You’ll need to do that again when her health bar is depleted in order to dodge her final attack.

Don't Knife The Hand That Feeds Don’t Knife The Hand That Feeds

Take Knifey’s advice and stab Gene in the gut.

MISSABLE

You’ll automatically acquire Knifey as you make your way to 9-Torg.

After beating 9-Torg, you’ll need to return to your house. Gene will speak to you when you enter. Knifey will tell you to stab him during that conversation. After the conversation, you’ll get the prompt to stab Gene. Walk over to him and press in the Right Stick to stab him. Don’t worry, he won’t die.

This has to be done here. It will not count if you do it later in the game.

G3 Graduation G3 Graduation

Defeat Douglas.

This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.

Douglas can either be your second or third boss fight. However, in order to not miss the “Gunning for Your Job” Trophy/Achievement, you have to fight him BEFORE you go after Krubis.

The beginning of the fight will have you shooting at him and taking cover. He can move around quickly, so try to keep a pillar in front of you for cover. Eventually, the floor panels will be electrified. You can avoid these by jumping or by pressing / to dodge. There will also be a few Grunts that will spawn. Aim for the head and make sure to grab the shield recharge that they drop. As you get near the end of the health bar, whatever floor panels you’re standing on will become electrified, so you need to keep moving and grapple up with / to get off the floor.

As you work your way toward Krubis, you’ll go through the mines. One of your stops in the mines will be an Administrative Building.

Creature Feature Creature Feature

Obtain Creature.

This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.

You’ll get Creature on your way to fight the Skrendel Brothers.

Who's The Boss? Who’s The Boss?

Defeat the Skrendel Brothers.

This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.

There are actually three different Skrendel Brothers. As you progress through the bounty, you’ll face them individually. Each one will have different attack patterns. As you beat them, they’ll flee and you’ll meet up with them at the end of the bounty. You’ll need to fight all three of them at the same time during the final battle.

They’ll keep the same attacks when they are separated during the final battle. They’ll also have shorter health bars. Focus on one at a time while making sure to dodge the attacks of the others. Take them out one at a time.

They will sometimes join together. When this happens, use the Creature weapon. While the smaller creatures are attacking, use one of your other weapons to deal more damage at the same time. This health bar can depleted quickly.

RIP Davey Glutes RIP Davey Glutes

Obtain the Mag-Boots.

This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.

You’ll pick these up while trying to find out where Dr. Giblets is. You’ll take them off of a body of a trampled alien outside of High on Life when you exit.

Say goodbye to Suit-O.

This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.

This will be earned toward the end of the game as you’re fighting through the waves of enemies on your way to Garmantuous. Suit-O will pop up on screen and tell you that he is leaving.

Playing Favorites Playing Favorites

Sacrifice a Gatlian other than Kenny during the fight against Garmantuous.

MISSABLE

After beating the second phase of the Garmantuous fight, Kenny will tell you to put him inside of Garmantuous in order to manually set the bomb off.

Do NOT use Kenny for this. Switch weapons by pressing /Y xb and use any of your other weapons. Equip any weapon except for Kenny and press / to insert them.

Don’t worry. Whatever weapon you choose will not be destroyed. You’ll get it back after the explosion.

Legendary Bounty Hunter Legendary Bounty Hunter

Defeat Garmantuous and take down the G3 cartel.

This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.

There are two phases of the fight against Garmantuous. You can use the same strategy during both phases. Use Lezduit until the energy bar is empty. Switch to a different weapon and keep firing while Lezduit recharges. When it’s recharged, pull it back out and use it again. Repeat that until the health bar is depleted.

When Garmantuous is on the ground, make sure to use Creature as it will cause passive damage while you use your other weapons.

We're All Very Impressed, Trust Me We’re All Very Impressed, Trust Me

Juggle an enemy in the air with at least 5 shots.

This can be earned when you’re making your way to 9-Torg.

Kenny will eventually talk about his Glob Shot ability while you’re heading for 9-Torg. You can press / to fire the Glob Shot after it’s available to you.

Fire the Glob Shot at one of the bigger ant enemy types. The smaller ones will die too quickly.

When it hits, the enemy will be launched into the air. While they’re in the air, repeatedly press / to fire shots at the enemy. All you have to do is hit an enemy five times while they are suspended in the air.

The enemy will stay in the air longer each time you hit them with a shot, so this shouldn’t be too difficult.

Eye Scream, You Scream Eye Scream, You Scream

Pop 20 Grunt eyeballs.

In order to earn this, you’re going to have to aim for headshots on the G3 Grunt type enemies. These are the smaller yellow enemies that have a big eyeball where their head would be. A single shot to the big eye will kill them by popping out their eye.

A Starfish is Born A Starfish is Born

Watch Globo’s rise to fame.

MISSABLE

This is a multi-step Trophy/Achievement that spans over the course of the entire story. Because of that, it is highly missable.

Basically, you need to give an NPC called Globo a drum and watch as her becomes famous for playing it. After giving him the drum, you need to go speak with his dad after completing a bounty and Globo’s story will progress a little more. I was able to begin this after completing the second bounty.

  • Go to the pawn shop and by the Drum for 78 Pesos.

high on life achievement guide

  • Go Find Globo and his dad in the Downtown section of Blim City. Speak to his dad and give Globo the Drum.

high on life achievement guide

  • Complete a bounty and then return to Globo and his dad to see that he has attracted a crowd. Speak to them again.

high on life achievement guide

  • Complete another Bounty and speak to his dad again. He’ll tell you that Globo was signed to a record label and that he’ll be performing on TV show.
  • Complete another Bounty and look at the TVs playing in the area with the tables in Blim City. You should see Globo playing the drums on TV. Sit there and watch for a bit and Kenny will start talking about his song and the Trophy/Achievement will pop. For me, this took place right after beating Nipulon. Before the final fight, you can warp to any of the areas that you’ve visited.

We Paid For The Rights To Put A Whole Movie We Paid For The Rights To Put A Whole Movie

Discover the movie theater.

This can be earned after killing either Douglas or Krubis. You will also need to have collected at least 3 Warp Crystals. You can collect these by picking them up after clearing a Warp Base. They will be on a terminal on the Warp Base. Warp Bases will spawn as you’re in combat. So make sure to go pick them up after all of the enemies on the base have been killed.

From your house, go to the middle area straight from your front door and you should see Blorto’s Kiosk set up. Interact with him and buy the Movie Theater Warp Disc.

Choose the Movie Theater Warp Disc and it’ll warp in the theater. The Trophy/Achievement will pop shortly after it spawns.

Epic Legendary Prize Epic Legendary Prize

Sit through the entirety of the really annoying countdown show on TV.

This can be earned while Gene is at your house.

Gene will be sitting on your couch watching TV. In order to earn this, you’re going to have to watch a show that features a count down with a robot. Unfortunately, there are a lot of shows that can play making this very random.

However, there is a somewhat “easier” way to get this. Instead of sitting there and watching every single show, pause the game and select “Last Checkpoint.” The game will reload and there will be a different show playing on TV. You can keep repeating this until the correct show plays. There are a lot of shows and some will repeat, but the one we need will eventually play, just stick with it.

When the show does play, set the controller down and wait for it to finish. Do not speak to anyone else in the house and do not leave the room. just stay there and let the ad finish. This will pop when the show ends and the next one begins.

I was able to get this after beating 9-Torg.

Sequel-Bait Sequel-Bait

Discover Dr. Gurgula’s hideout in the Human Haven.

This can be earned after beating Nipulon or after beating the game.

First, you’re going to need to use the Bounty 5K to warp into the Mayor’s office.

  • Nova Sanctus > Clugg’s Office

Pick up the keycard on Clugg’s desk. It is called, “Human Haven Keycard.”

high on life achievement guide

Return to your house and use the Bounty 5K to warp to the Human Haven.

  • “Unknown Sector” > Human Haven.

Once you get there, use your jetpack to fly straight up. You’ll need to reach the very top. There is a door at the top.

high on life achievement guide

There will be ledges along the way up that you can rest on to recover your fuel.

high on life achievement guide

Open the door and enter the room. The Trophy/Achievement will pop shortly after entering the room.

Seeing All The Sights Seeing All The Sights

Unlock and explore every collectible warp base.

In order to earn this, you’re going to have buy and interact with all six of the Warp Discs from Blorto in Blim City. It is going to cost 31 Warp Crystals in order to buy them all. If you don’t have enough crystals, you can farm them post game. Fast travel to Zephyr Paradise > Jungle Clearing. From the warp door, look around to your right and you’ll see two green waterfalls side by side. Run toward those waterfalls and two Warp Bases will spawn.

  • Kill the enemies
  • Take the Warp Crystals
  • Go back through the warp door back to your house
  • Go through the warp door back to Jungle Clearing and repeat the process.

high on life achievement guide

When you have all the discs, use the Bounty 5K and warp to Zephyr Paradise > Upper Valley. From the warp door, head up the hill to the left where the mansion is/was. Interact with the Warp point by pressing / .

high on life achievement guide

You’re going to need to use each Warp Disc and interact with what they spawn. You’ll know you did what was required when you see “SAVING” in the bottom right corner of the screen after the required interaction or by leaving. Once you’ve completed a task, check the Achievement Tracker to make sure it was counted.

  • Cutie Town – Run through the miniature town destroying all of the buildings. Let the NPC finish speaking and decide what to do with him.
  • Movie Theater – Go inside and sit down in of the seats. Wait for the three NPCs in the first row to begin riffing on the movie that is playing. For the uninitiated, this is a reference to MST3K. You can leave after they begin speaking. This will be counted toward the Achievement as you exit the theater completely.
  • Skate Park – Enter the park and speak with the teens. Agree to their contest and you’ll need to skate around the park earning a score higher than 42,069. All you have to do here is grapple up to a grapple point, swing to a different one and swing to the rail and ride the rail to the end. At the end, swing to another grapple point and repeat that until the timer ends. As you swing to each point, use your jetpack and dash with / to score more points. You’ll recharge your fuel completely while riding on the rail, so that shouldn’t be an issue. If you fail, you can speak to the teens and try again. When you beat the score, a Luglox chest will spawn and you will need to open it.
  • Trolley Tracks – All you have to do here is decide what side you want the trolley to go down. Interact with the lever to decide.
  • Toilet – All you have to do here is solve the pipe puzzle.
  • Quiet Cottage – Go inside and speak with the Luglox chests. Exhaust all dialogue and then open all three of the chests.

Luglox Genocide Luglox Genocide

Find and open every Luglox chest.

There are 27 trading cards to find. All but two of them will be found in Luglox chests. As you hunt those down and open them all, you’ll end up with just about all of the cards. The remaining two can be found for sale in the pawn shop in Blim City.

As for the chests, there are 227 chests spread out across the different maps. Five of them are hidden. You won’t be able to open them all until you have acquired all of the weapons as they have special abilities that you will need to use in order to reach a majority of the boxes.

None of the boxes are missable, so this can be cleaned up postgame.

You can check how many Lugloxes you have for each area by highlighting the destinations in the Bounty 5K.

Pressing in the Right Stick will show you your waypoint, but it will also tell you if there are any chests nearby. There will be a blue line on your radar in the bottom left corner of the screen pointing in the direction of the nearest chest.

*This has been patched and is working correctly as of January 13, 2023. The required number of kills has also been increased with the patch.*

You can restart checkpoints when you encounter certain enemy types during the story in order to farm them. The enemies that commonly glitch out post game are Hunks, Greebles, Jasons and Melee Murks. As for discovering locations, all you have to do there is enter the area. You’ll automatically discover all areas while you collect all of the Luglox chests.

The forums have been patched, but the tracker is still glitched. You’re going to have to start a new game after the patch in order for the forums to unlock correctly. However, this still isn’t completely fixed as the tracking is glitched.

The forums will become unlocked as you progress through the game. In order to unlock posts in the forums, you need to complete challenges. There are challenges associated with each post. They can be viewed in the Pause menu under forums at the very bottom of the posts.
