Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Trophy Guide & Roadmap

Welcome to the Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden Trophy guide & Roadmap!

  • 5/10 Estimated Difficulty
  • 45 – Estimated Hours to Completion
  • 1.5 – Minimum Playthroughs
  • 4 – Missable Trophies
  • 0 – Difficulty Related Trophies
  • 0 – Online Trophies

There are two Trophies/Achievements tied to different endings. The endings are determined by what you choose to do with the people you help through out the game’s story. That would suggest 2 play-throughs, but it is possible to earn both in one and a half playthroughs. You’ll basically be cutting out the main story. Everything here can be done on any difficulty.

1.5 Playthroughs

  • Step 1

Play through the main story only completing the haunting cases that are required by the story. Choose to resurrect Antea when making your oath.

    • The Old Friends
    • The Trappers
    • The Heaytons
    • The Cook
    • The Haskells
    • The Cobbler
    • The Leaders

When completing those cases, make sure to choose the option that works toward resurrecting Antea. The game explains which decision works toward what ending before making them.

  • Step 2

Make a separate manual save before making your second oath to Antea.

  • Step 3

You’ll need to have blamed at least 13 people. So do just enough cases to reach 13 blamed people. once you have reached that number, finish the game and resurrect Antea to get the “Death is a Journey” Trophy/Achievement.

  • Step 4

Re-load your manual save. Clean up the remaining miscellaneous Trophies/Achievements as well as any collectibles. You will also need to finish every optional Haunting Case. For those, choose the option that works toward ascending Antea. Make sure to banish Lucy Barlow during the “A Storm’s a Brewing” Haunting Case. After doing so, play through Void Breaches and you should encounter her. Kill her there for “Second Death.”

  • Step 5

With everything cleaned up, proceed through the point of no return and finish the last section of the game again. Ascend Antea for the “Farewell is a Journey.”

An important note. You should not kill Hugh at the end of The Schoolteacher Haunting Case. You need him alive in order to get the Bible quest which is needed for the “Teachers Pet” Trophy/Achievement.

Collectibles

None of the collectibles are missable up until the point of no return. There are more than 50 Soul Grabbers, but you only need 50 of them. Not only do you need to shoot 50 for a Trophy/Achievement, but they also provide crafting materials.

Activities

There are side activities after completing the Haunting Cases. Only two of them are needed for Trophies/Achievements. The “Iron Shortage” activity will become available through either Nellie or Arther after completing The Heaytons Haunting Case. Complete that activity and you’ll be rewarded with the Ivory Riposte equipment. That equipment is needed for the “Catch ‘Em All” Trophy/Achievement.

The “Spirit Unbounding” activity is needed in order to open cursed chests. Interact with any cursed chest and you’ll receive this activity. Opening all cursed chests is needed for the “Cursed Locksmith” Trophy/Achievement.

Cases Closed

Solve all the Haunting Cases of New Eden

Haunting Cases are side quests in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. These will have you interacting with clues and helping various people through out each of the game’s locations. At the end of each one, you will have to make a decision on how to end the case. The choices at the end of these will determine the ending you get. There are multiple endings, but 2 that are required for Trophies. Make sure to only make the choice for the ending you are trying to get.

Some of the Haunting Cases will be story related, but others are optional. None of them are missable up until the point of no return. Make sure to complete all of them before progressing through the point of no return.

If you choose to Ascend but banish everyone, you’ll get a different ending because you have broken your oath. So if you pick Ascend, make sure to only ascend the ghosts in order to stay on track for that ending (Farewell is a journey). The same thing applies when working on resurrecting Antea. This is supposed to be any of the ghosts, but the one that seems to reliably spawn is Lucy Barrow. Banish her during the “A Storm’s a Brewing” Haunting Case. After doing that, go through the Endless Void on the east side of The Harrows to encounter her.

Until a cure is found

Freeze 5 enemies in a single encounter

In order to freeze enemies, you will need to first unlock Antea’s Ensare ability. This will happen as part of the main story.

Once you have it, switch to Antea in combat and press / to use the ability against an enemy. Once they are frozen, you will need to wait for the ability to cooldown. So just dodge to avoid attacks and wait for the ability to replenish. Once it has, freeze another enemy. Repeat that until you have frozen at least 5 enemies. The 5 freezes have to be done in the same combat encounter.

This can easily be done by playing Ritual and Endless Ritual sites. These will offer enough enemies.

Counterattack

Defeat 3 enemies with a post parry attack in a single encounter

In order to earn this, you’ll need to be playing as Red. Whittle down the health bars of at least 3 enemies and then wait. Press / to counter an enemy attack just before it hits you to perform a parry. You need to deflect the enemy’s attack so that they are briefly stunned. As soon as you parry, attack the enemy to perform the post parry attack. The post parry attack needs to kill the enemy for this to count. You also need to do all 3 in the same combat encounter.

Right on Target

Defeat 5 enemies with a weakspot hit (Rifle) in a single encounter

This is easily earned against the spectral wolves and base type specter enemies. Whittle down their health and then use your gun to shoot them in the head.

You will need to do this 5 times in a single combat encounter. This can easily be done by playing Ritual and Endless Ritual sites. These will offer enough enemies.

Outburst

Defeat 3 enemies with a single Outburst

Outburst is an ability for Antea that will be automatically unlocked as part of the main story.

Weaken 3 enemies and then switch to Antea. Hold / and then let go to use Outburst. You will need to kill 3 enemies at the same time with one use of Outburst.

Float like a Butterfly

Defeat 8 enemies in a single encounter without being hit

In order to earn this, you’re going to need to not take any damage as either character during a combat encounter of at least 8 enemies.

You can parry attacks to stop them, but parrying requires perfect timing. If you fail, you’ll take damage. So, you’re going to want to dodge around the area with / . Get a couple attacks in on an enemy and then dodge out of there to avoid attacks. Antea’s Outburst is a strong attack that can damage multiple enemies at the same time. You’ll want to make use of that. Just keep dodging and use your gun when you have the chance from a distance. You can also banish enemies with / when the meter is full. This will do a lot of damage and sometimes one hit the enemy.

This can easily be done by playing Ritual and Endless Ritual sites. These will offer enough enemies.

A Farmer’s Life

Complete the same Ritual site 10 times (intensity level 10)

Ritual sites are side activities found through out the world. They spawn combat encounters when interacted with as long as you have the required resources. Some of the sites can be replayed.

Each time you clear a run on a ritual site, the intensity level will increase. All you have to do for this is complete the same ritual 10 times.

Banishing Move

Defeat 50 enemies with a Banishment

Banishment is an attack that can be performed with Red. He will have a red meter near his health bar that you will need to fill. It is filled by landing attacks on enemies as Red. Once the meter is full, you can press / to use the Banishment attack on the nearest enemy. For this, the Banishment attack has to kill the enemy. So, you can whittle down the enemy health bar before using the attack to make sure it is killed by Banishment.

Soulmates

Defeat 50 enemies while Fusion is active

Fusion is an ability for Antea that will be unlocked automatically as part of the main story.

Antea will have a second smaller bar in the bottom left corner of the screen. When this bar is full, you can press + / + to use the attack. You will then be able to use Red’s weapons as Antea for a short period of time. For this, you will need to kill 50 enemies while using the Fusion ability.

Teamwork

Defeat at least 4 enemies with Red and at least 4 enemies with Antea in a single encounter

For this, you’re going to need a combat encounter with at least 8 enemies. Kill 4 of them with Red and then switch over to Antea kill 4 more in the same combat encounter.

8 enemies in an encounter is rare during the story, but this can easily be done by playing Ritual and Endless Ritual sites. These will offer enough enemies.

Gimme Shelter

Activate all Shelters in New Eden

Shelters are where you can fast travel, upgrade gear, rest and upgrade abilities. These are marked on your map as a camp fire icon. There are 30 of them and none of them are missable. In order to activate a shelter, you just need to light the campfire. Playing through the side quests, Haunted Cases and main story will take you by all of these. They will appear on your map as you get near them, so keep an eye out for those on your compass.

  • The Darkwoods – 10 Shelters
  • The Mire Marshes – 4 Shelters
  • Mount Pleasant – 7 Shelters
  • The Harrows – 8 Shelters
  • The Void (Main Story related) – 1 Shelter
