New Game + adds 2 more objectives to each stage. It does not add anything to the boss fights. If you did everything during your first playthrough, all you will have to focus on are the 2 new objectives per stage. Most of them require you to complete the stages in a set amount of days. For these, it’ll be the same strategy for them all. You’ll want to get Yoshiro moving as soon as you can in order to maximize how far she can go. The more crystals you have, the easier it will make those objectives. So try to collect as many crystals as you can before completing a stage so that you have some for the next.
New Game + is basically the same game as your first playthrough. It will add some different enemy spawns to some levels, but there is nothing drastically different here. Everything you unlocked the first time through will carry over, so if you did everything you could on your first playthrough, NG+ won’t be too much of a challenge.
For the boss fights, the same strategies we used to beat their timed objectives still apply here. You can use them again to quickly beat them.

Myoko Pass
- Don’t let Soh receive any damage
The first stage is easy enough to where you can just let your villagers take care of the enemy. There will be a few mini bosses that spawn, but you can take care of them right away with a Tsuba Guard. Just make sure to quickly get away after. You also want to make sure you do not get too close to the Torri Gate. Otherwise, you’ll take toxic damage. You can reload the most recent autosave to try the night again if you take damage.
- Complete the stage in 2 days or fewer
From the start, immediately carve the path. Stop Yoshiro a little more than halfway. Survive the first night and then carve the path to the end. This should only take 1 night to complete. It is especially helpful if you are starting with maxed out crystals. You’ll have enough for the full path as well as assigning your villager roles.
Kakeashi Grove
- Defeat 10 Seethe at the same time with Soh
Repair the wall contraptions so that the enemies pile up behind it. When you have at least 10, use a Tsuba Guard to take them all out. Make sure to keep your villagers away and don’t use any Archers or Marksmen. Otherwise, they’ll kill the enemies before 10 can group up.
- Complete the stage in 3 days or fewer
From the start, immediately carve the path. You need Yoshiro to get as far as she can. Just don’t stop her right in front of the gate. Give it a little bit of space to fight enemies. Do the same thing in the next section. Carve the path immediately and get her walking right away. It is especially helpful if you are starting with maxed out crystals. You”ll have enough for the full path as well as assigning your villager roles.
Yuan Cavern
- Defeat 100 Seethe using the villagers
Set your villagers up in front of Yoshiro and light the nearest lantern. Your villagers will only attack enemies that are in the light. An Ascetic can be useful here to slow down and stop enemies from getting by your villagers. Archers are also helpful here. Just let don’t attack or kill enemies. If a mini boss spawns, make sure you do kill that one. If you need more light, you can help this by running through the groups of enemies as Soh’s light can help your villagers see and kill them.
- Complete the stage in 3 days or fewer
From the start, immediately carve the path. You need Yoshiro to get as far as she can. Do the same thing in the next section. Carve the path immediately and get her walking right away. It is especially helpful if you are starting with maxed out crystals. You’ll have enough for the full path as well as assigning your villager roles.
Enri Village
- Assign every role to the villagers
Assign all 12 roles to the villagers. You’ll need a lot of crystals for this as well completing the stage. So this is easier to come back to and start with a full amount of crystals. Do not waste crystals by carving a path and clear all defilement on the stage to maximize your crystals. You can also take the Terrapin, Orochi and Nekomata Mazo Talismans to decrease the amount of crystals it takes to assign roles to villagers. Not only do you need about 2000 crystals to assign all 12 roles without the use of Talismans, but you also need 1500 in order to win the stage.
- Defeat 25 Seethe with a Sorcerer
You can use multiple Sorcerers to get this objective done. Use the carpenter to repair the contraption that buffs your attacks down by the Torri Gate. Place your Sorcerers in the buff radius near the edge so that they can be close to the spawning enemies. You don’t want to use all of your villagers as Sorcerers because enemies will get by and attack Yoshiro. So keep 2 or 3 other villagers as different roles to protect Yoshiro and to help kill the mini bosses that spawn.
Okumiyama Passage
- Use a Hozukime explosion to explode another Hozukime 3 times
The Hozukime are enemies that will explode when damaged. When you deplete their health bars, the explosion radius will turn blue. Just before they explode, you can hit them to push them toward other enemies. You need another Hozukime in the explosion radius when it explodes in order to kill the other one. There will be a few chances to get this in the stage. It is possible to get 2 kills with a single Hozukime near the beginning of night 1. Three of them will spawn shortly after each other. So, you can time the first kill to where the other two will walk through the radius.
- Complete the stage in 4 days or fewer
From the start, immediately carve the path. You need Yoshiro to get as far as she can. Do the same thing in the next section. Carve the path immediately and get her walking right away. It is especially helpful if you are starting with maxed out crystals. You’ll have enough for the full path as well as assigning your villager roles.
Moegi Ridge
- Don’t command the carpenter to repair any contraptions
For this, you cannot repair any of the contraptions with the carpenter. You’ll have a lot of villagers with you during this stage, so you won’t really need the contraptions anyway.
- Complete the stage in 5 days or fewer
From the start, immediately carve the path. You need Yoshiro to get as far as she can. Do the same thing in the next section. Carve the path immediately and get her walking right away. It is especially helpful if you are starting with maxed out crystals. You’ll have enough for the full path as well as assigning your villager roles.
Yuminari Lake
- Don’t use any cannons
- Don’t assign roles to any villagers
Don’t use any of the cannons on the boats. If you use villagers, this is really no problem. It is possible to do this at the same time as the second objective. If that’s the case, you’ll need to be running back and forth making sure that you can kill enemies as quickly as you can. They spawn on somewhat staggered times. So, you can stay ahead of them by killing the enemies in order of when they appear for a bit. It doesn’t start to get too hectic until the night is almost over. Make sure to use Soh’s arrow here as some enemies can be killed in one hit. You can also inflict damage before the bigger enemies land with the arrow making things a little easier when they do reach the boat.
Adashino Village
- Dispel the enchantments on 30 Enhanced Seethe using a Priest
For this, you can use multiple Priests to get this done. Position a Priest near the Torri Gates that spawn enemies. When you see a Rosokuro, don’t kill it or the enemies around it. You need them to be enhanced. If you kill them too quickly, you won’t have enough for your Priests to dispel. So, you’ll need to pull back a little bit in order for your Priests to get this done. They don’t have much health, so be ready to refill their health if needed. Also, do not use the drum either. That does not count toward this, so using it would only take away from your Priests.
- Complete the stage in 5 days or fewer.
From the start, immediately carve the path. You need Yoshiro to get as far as she can. Do the same thing in the next section. Carve the path immediately and get her walking right away. It is especially helpful if you are starting with maxed out crystals. You’ll have enough for the full path as well as assigning your villager roles.
Muenzuka Burial Grounds
- Don’t let Soh receive any damage
This one can be tricky as you will be alone for this stage. You won’t have any villagers to rely on. There are a lot of contraptions on this stage, and they’re going to be very important in helping you get through this stage. As soon as the stage starts, get the carpenter working on repairing contraptions. You can equip the Esteemed Craftsman Mazo Talisman to speed up the time it takes for the carpenter to repair the contraptions. If you have the Worship skill unlocked for Soh, you can use the Chozusha Basin to make yourself temporarily invulnerable to damage. There is one Chozusha Basin per section of this stage for a total of 2. They can only be used once per night. One other Mazo Talisman you can equip is the Decoy Buddha. This will make you invulnerable to the first attack that hits you each night. Use Tsuba Guards on mini bosses and beware of Shibakaki enemies. A few of them will spawn at the same time and they have ranged attacks with pretty good distance. If you don’t kill them right away, they will take up positions on high ledges and will be able to target you from a pretty good distance. You really need to just focus on surviving one night at a time. If you take damage, you can reload your most recent autosave to try whatever night you were on over again.
Renge Marsh
- Purify 5 of the Dojoyogoshi’s Toxic Pools using a Priest
Before you can get this, you’re going to have to firs upgrade the Priest to level 3 at least. Dojoyogoshi enemies are very similar to the Hozukime. They will self destruct. However, the difference here is that the Dojoyogoshi leave behind a Toxic Puddle when then explode. In order to get this, you need the Toxic Pool to be within a Priest’s radius so that they can clear it. When a Dojoyogoshi spawns, get near it and it will begin its self destruct run to your Priest and the Dojoyogoshi will follow you. Try to get it close to your Priest without having the Priest damaged from the explosion. When it explodes, put your Priest near the pool and it will be cleared. If you kill a Dojoyogoshi, it will not leave behind a Toxic Pool. You need it to self destruct on its own. The Dojoyogoshi will spawn in the second section of the stage.
- Complete the stage in 6 days or fewer
From the start, immediately carve the path. You need Yoshiro to get as far as she can. Do the same thing in the next section. Carve the path immediately and get her walking right away. As soon as you enter the next section, you need to get your villagers to begin repairing the two bridges right away. Free the remaining villagers on the second section and send them to a bridge to repair. It is especially helpful if you are starting with maxed out crystals. You’ll have enough for the full path as well as assigning your villager roles.
Kamukura Shrine
- Assign every role to the villagers
Assign all 12 roles to the villagers. You’ll need a lot of crystals for this as well completing the stage. So this is easier to come back to and start with a full amount of crystals. Do not waste crystals by carving a path and clear all defilement on the stage to maximize your crystals. You can also take the Terrapin, Orochi and Nekomata Mazo Talismans to decrease the amount of crystals it takes to assign roles to villagers. Not only do you need about 2000 crystals to assign all 12 roles without the use of Talismans, but you also need 2000 in order to win the stage.
- Defeat 50 Seethe with a Sorcerer
You can use multiple Sorcerers to get this objective done. Use the carpenter to repair contraptions all around Yoshiro. Enemies will be coming from multiple directions here, so you can move your Sorcerers to the nearest group of enemies. For this, I kept the villagers in a perimeter around Yoshiro and rebuild the contraptions around her. If you move the Sorcerers to a different group of enemies, make sure there aren’t other villagers nearby that can steal kills from the Sorcerers You don’t want to use all of your villagers as Sorcerers because enemies will get by and attack Yoshiro. So keep some other villagers as different roles to protect Yoshiro and to help kill the mini bosses that spawn.
Great Cherry Tree of Nakahara
- Defeat 10 enemies before they spawn from the falling defilement
All you have to do here is attack the defilement that falls down from the sky and kill it before enemies spawn out of it.
- Don’t let any villagers become Cocooned
For this, just keep your villagers near Yoshiro and keep Soh over to the left or right. If you stand in the middle, the boss will hit your villagers and Yoshiro. So just stay off to the side away from them and the boss will only focus on you.
Korai Valley
- Don’t allow any boats to sink
It’s possible to get both objectives done in a single playthrough here, but it will be tougher. You’ll need to really pat attention to you mini map to see what direction the enemies are coming from. Get to the corresponding cannon quickly and fire it to take them out. If you’re alone, you’re going to be running from boat to boat killing enemies as quickly as you can. Use your arrow to kill flying enemies before they can reach the boats. If an enemy latches on to a boat, you will only have a few seconds to kill it. If you are using your villagers, all you have to do is assign Archers and Marksmen and place them at the fronts and backs of the boats where enemies will try to board you. Your villagers will take them out before they can reach the boats most of the time.
- Don’t assign roles to any villagers
For this, you cannot use your villagers at all. You’ll have to do the stage alone. Run from boat to boat killing enemies as quickly as you can as to not be overwhelmed. If you already did the first objective, this one is much easier when you don’t have to worry about keeping all your boats together.
Kiritake Village
- Don’t let Soh receive any damage
You’re going to have to rely on your villagers for the most part here. Make use of contraptions to slow the enemies down. They can only be used one time per night. One other Mazo Talisman you can equip is the Decoy Buddha. This will make you invulnerable to the first attack that hits you each night. There are two enemies that can make this a pain. The Dojoyogoshi and the Gotaimen. Those need to be killed as quickly as possible. They’ll either damage you, or they’ll hit Yoshiro and they deal a lot of damage. Reload your most recent autosave if you take damage.
This can be done in 3 days, but it might be worth taking an extra day in order to make use of Spirit Wards.
Narusawa Wind Caves
- Complete the stage without lighting any lanterns
Do not light any of the lanterns on this stage. This can be a little tricky as your villagers can only attack enemies that are in the light. However, Soh has a field of light around him. So, your villagers will attack enemies if you are near the enemies. Keep your villagers close together and run back and forth through the groups of enemies lighting them up for your villagers. You can equip the Floating Lantern Mazo Talisman to increase the field of light around Soh.
There is a Spirit Ward you can make use of on the second section of the stage. Yoshiro will come up just short of the final gate in 3 days, so stop her on the Spirit Ward near the final gate and take advantage of that. The Spirit Ward is close enough to where you can finish the stage in 4 days.
Yamasuso Lodging
- Don’t let Soh receive any damage
You’re going to have to rely on your villagers for the most part here. Make use of contraptions to slow the enemies down. They can only be used once each. One other Mazo Talisman you can equip is the Decoy Buddha. This will make you invulnerable to the first attack that hits you each night. Reload your most recent autosave if you take damage.

It is especially helpful if you are starting with maxed out crystals. You’ll have enough for the full path as well as assigning your villager roles.
Great Shrine Passage
The final stage is a boss rush stage. The same strategies we’ve been using will still work here. Because of how quickly we’ve been able to beat these bosses, it is very unlikely that Yoshiro will receive any damage here. Just make sure to keep the bosses away from her. As for Soh, most of these will be beaten while we still have the Chozusha Basin active. The Decoy Buddha is still useful here just in case, and the Sorcerers special attack may come in handy as well if you’re stuck on a boss. This can be triggered while you keep your distance.
The boss battle from the Great Cherry Tree stage will be added in here. The same strategy we used still applies here. Guard against its sweep attack and run left to avoid the unblockable attack. Deal some damage while it is stunned. Use a Tsuba Guard on the woman like entity that shoots up from the ground in order to stun it again. You can just repeat that until it is dead. Grab the Chozusha Basin after taking your first hit which will lose the Decoy Buddha Talisman shield. Remember to stay out of the middle so that Yoshiro does not get hit.
For the Raikobo fight, use the Sorcerer’s attack method. Make sure to have some ranged villagers just in case the Sorcerer’s attack doesn’t kill the boss. You’ll need to be dodging its attacks. So, having your villagers attack will really help finish this fight off.
- Don’t let Yoshiro receive any damage
- Don’t let Soh receive any damage
