Welcome to the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Trophy Guide & Roadmap!

  • 5/10 Estimated Difficulty
  • 25 – 35 – Estimated Hours to Completion – Can vary per player depending on stage replays.
  • 2 – Minimum Story Play-Throughs (NG+)
    • Many stage replays required. Different amounts for each player.
  • 0 – Missable Trophies/Achievements
  • 0 – Difficulty Related Trophies/Achievements – No difficulty options available
  • 0 – Online Trophies/Achievements

Playthrough #1

The majority of this list will come by beating stages, completing objectives and repairing your bases. Nothing here is missable, so for your initial playthrough, you’re going to need to complete every stage and boss battle. While you’re doing that, make sure you are repairing structures at your bases. All you have to do is assign villagers to the projects and they will be completed after you complete your next stage. Sometimes, it will require 2 stages. But you should always have your villagers repairing structures whenever you play a stage in order to maximize your time. You can have multiple repairing projects active across multiple bases at the same time. So always make sure to start repairs on each base before playing the next stage.

Repairing structures will earn you the collectibles needed for multiple Trophies/Achievements as well as the currency needed to upgrade Soh and your villager roles (Musubi).

Objectives will not be shown on your first playthrough of a stage or boss fight, but that does not mean they cannot be completed. Some of the objectives will cancel each other out which will require multiple play throughs of a stage. The stages are not very long, so it’s not too bad on that front.

For more information on specific objectives, please refer to the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Objectives Guide.

Use your first playthrough to fully upgrade all of your bases and to upgrade Soh and villager roles in order to be ready for NG+. Anything else that you don’t get done here can still be completed in NG+.

To recap, you should do most of the heavy lifting on this first playthrough in order to make NG+ easier.

  • Complete all objectives
  • Fully repair all bases
  • Open all black chests

New Game + Playthrough

A New Game + playthrough is required for the Platinum. Your completed bases, objectives, skills, villager roles and other unlocks will all carry over to NG+. NG+ will add new objectives to each of the stages as well. These are also required for the Platinum. Everything that wasn’t completed on your first playthrough in terms of collectibles, will all be completed during this playthrough. If you did everything you could on your first playthrough, all you will have to worry about here is doing the 2 new objectives per stage. The boss fights do not add new objectives.

  • Complete every new objective
  • Fully upgrade all roles
  • Fully upgrade Soh

Musubi

Musubi is required for upgrading your villager roles and Soh. Upgrades can be refunded at any time and as many times as you want. So you can spend the Musubi a different way. This can be helpful if you need to switch play styles for a boss or stage. It is acquired by completing objectives, repairing structures at your bases and by opening black chests during stages. In order to open a black chest, you will need to have a thief with you and it needs to be upgraded to pick locks. The thief role will become available automatically as you progress through the game’s stages. Before you begin a stage, you’ll be given a list of objectives to complete as well a picture of a black chest. This will tell you how many are on the stage and if you have opened them or not. Once they are opened, they cannot be used again. So, no farming here.

The game gives the exact amount of Musubi that is required for every upgrade. Every challenge, base structure, black chest and stage completion will add up to the exact amount required to have everything fully upgraded at the same time. Of course, you can cheese the two fully upgraded Trophies/Achievements by refunding everything you’ve spent as well. So that’s an option too.

Muzo Talismans

Muzo Talismans are objects that can apply different buffs to Soh and your villager roles. These are earned by completing objectives, stages and by clearing all defilement during stages. When you start a stage, there will be a number of big defilement plants that you can clear. The game will tell you how many you have left each time you clear one. When you’ve cleared all of them in the same section of a stage, a shrine will open and offer you a new talisman. The shrine will also tell you how many are left when approached. Whether you equip it or not, it’ll be added to your inventory of other talismans. These can be viewed in the tent at your bases. These can also be switched per stage depending on your needs for whichever stage you are on.

 Repeating History

Begin New Game+.

New Game + can be started inside of the tent at any of your bases after you have completed the final stage of your first playthrough.

 The End

Defeat Cursed Soh.

Cursed Soh will be the final boss on your New Game + playthrough.

This fight is a little tougher than the others through out the game. Cursed Soh hits hard and is very aggressive. If you’re struggling to fight him, here is an alternative method.

Tsuba Guards:

  • Suzaku’s Flame
  • Taion’s Lightning
  • Genbu’s Might

Mazo Talismans:

  • Soultaker
  • Nyorai
  • Bodhisattva
  • Rabbit’s Cup
  • Synergy

As for Soh’s skills, everything should have already been unlocked by this point.

Before starting the fight, go to all of your bases and max out your crystals to 2000. Start the fight and open the chest for more crystals. Set every villager to Sorcerer in order to speed up the charging of their attack. The game plan here is to stall for this attack over and over.

When the fight starts, leave your Sorcerers where they are and hit Cursed Soh with Taion’s Lightning. This will stun him in one hit. Use a Punishing Strike and then immediately get away. He’ll get up swinging. You can use your other Tsuba Guards on him to damage his resist meter. Make sure to get away from him after each use unless he is stunned. When the Sorcerer’s are ready, use their attack. It will damage him and his resist meter. If he is stunned, get a Punishing Strike in on him and then back away.

He won’t go after your villagers or Yoshiro as long as you are up, so you don’t have to worry about that.

When he teleports away, keep your distance. He’ll begin using arrows, but they are easy to dodge as long as you are far away from him. You can run to your left or right to avoid the arrows. Keep avoiding his attacks while your Sorcerers and Tsuba Guards power up. Use them as they become available and use Punishing Strike when given the opportunity. You can repeat this for the entirety of the fight until he is beaten. If you take any damage, you need to heal immediately. If you go down, get over to your Sorcerers and heal them. It’s not necessarily over if you go down once, but two or three times will likely end the fight.

There is a Chozusha Basin that can be used here. Try not to use it right away. Try to save that for deeper into the fight for the invulnerability late. If you can get his health low and then use it, you’ll be invulnerable to try and end the fight.

 Come on in!

Enter a tent for the first time.

This can be earned as soon as you complete the first stage, Myoko Pass. After the stage, you’ll be introduced to the base mechanic.

You’ll need to go into the tent in order to change your abilities, upgrade villagers and save your game.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Trophy Guide & Roadmap

 A Gathering of Masters

Fully upgrade all roles.

See “The True Soh” Trophy/Achievement below for more details.

 The True Soh

Fully upgrade Soh’s abilities.

You’ll be able start upgrading Soh after you beat the boss, Batsu. Soh is upgraded in the tent at your bases. You will need to spend Musubi in order to upgrade Soh. Roles are also upgraded at the tent at your bases. In order to upgrade roles, you will need to spend Musubi. Musubi is earned by completing stages, beating bosses, repairing base objects, completing objectives and by digging up black chests with a Thief.

You won’t earn enough of Musubi in your first playthrough to fully upgrade both Soh and all of your villager roles. By the time you’re done with your first playthrough, including all of the objectives, you’ll have enough to fully upgrade at least one of them. So, there are two ways you can go about earning both of these Trophies/Achievements. You can just wait until you’re completely done with your New Game + run. Or, if you don’t feel like waiting, you can undo all of the upgrades you already bought and pour them into either Soh or villager roles. Once you fully upgrade one of those two, you can then undo the upgrades again and fully upgrade whichever one you didn’t do.

When You Wish Upon an Ema

Obtain all Ema Plaques.

Ema Plaques can be earned by repairing structures at your base and beating bosses. When a structure that rewards you with a plaque is complete, interact with it to receive the plaque. Once acquired, plaques are automatically hung up at your base and can be viewed anytime.

This cannot be earned until you have beaten Cursed Soh in New Game +. Cursed Soh’s plaque will be automatically given to you shortly after beating him.

Villagers are first acquired by purging them of defilement during stages. You’ll need to run up to them and hold / to free them. Once freed, you can then assign them a role to help you in combat. Walk up to a villager and press / to assign them a role.

You will need to spend crystals in order to assign roles. Crystals are earned in combat, purging defilement in stages as well as striking the red plants during stages. All of the roles that are needed are listed below:

  • Woodcutter – 50 Crystals
    • Unlocked by default
  • Archer – 50 Crystals
    • Unlocked by beating Gakinyudo

 Family Dis-Function

Defeat 100 Seethe by using other Seethe attacks against them.

Hozukime are exploding enemy types. If you damage them enough, their explosion radius will turn blue which means that your villagers and Soh will not be damaged by the explosion. You can hit them while they are down to push them toward other enemies. When they explode, they will kill other enemies in the radius which will count toward this Trophy/Achievement.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Trophy Guide & Roadmap

 Rags to Riches

Defeat Kagokaburi.

Kagokaburi are enemies that look like chests. They can randomly spawn during stages, so there is a little RNG here, but you’ll be replaying these stages enough that you’ll eventually come across these. When they spawn, they will only be on the map for a limited amount of time. They drop a lot of crystals when killed. It’s best to use a Tsuba Guard attack on them as soon as you see them to make sure that it is killed without being distracted from the stage for too long with this.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Trophy Guide & Roadmap

 Mountain Watch

Complete all objectives in every stage, including those in New Game+.

During your first playthrough, each stage will have 3 objectives attached to them. Each boss has 1 objective. These are side challenges you have to complete on each stage. You do not have to complete all 3 objectives in a single run. You can replay each stage as many times as you need and only focus on the objectives you have not completed yet. So, if you complete 2 on your first run of a stage, you can replay that stage and only complete your missing objective and it will count all 3 as completed.

New Game + will add 2 more objectives to every stage except for the bosses. The bosses will not get new objectives on NG+.

You will need to complete every objective on your initial playthrough, as well as on a new game + playthrough.

 The Little Giant

Defeat all types of Seethe.

All of the enemy types will appear as part of the story. When a new enemy spawns on a stage, the game will slow down and show the name. You’ll face every enemy type as part of the story. This will come at the end of your New Game + playthrough when you beat Cursed Soh.

 Wisdom and Courage

Finish all boss fights up to the Great Shrine Passage within a total of 20 mins in one playthrough.

This is not as difficult as it may sound. You do not need to do a speed run of the game nor do you have to do a speed run of a boss rush mode.

This Trophy/Achievement adds up all of your time spent against each boss. Each of the boss fights can be replayed, so you can replay them to cut down your time. They can be replayed in any order as well. This is something that will become easier after you have upgraded Soh as well as your villager roles.

Completing each of boss’ timed objectives will get you this Trophy/Achievement.

See the Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Objectives Guide for more details on boss strategies.

 Bit by Bit

Consume a total of 100,000 crystals.

This is a Trophy/Achievement that will come naturally over time. Crystals are spent on assigning roles to your villages as well as carving a spirit path to the Torri Gate. There are some enemies that are defeated by using crystals as well.

 Return to Nature

Purge 200 wild animals of the defilement.

There are animals found on each of the stages that are covered in defilement. In order to purge them, you just need to attack them and it will come off. Some animals require multiple hits, and others only require one. The animals will be walking around the stage in random locations. They’ll run when you get near them, so you’ll have to chase after them. These can be deer, boar, birds, rabbits and snakes. They will also show up as red dots on your mini map.

Each time you clear a combat encounter on a stage, the animals will be covered in defilement again. So you can clear them, survive the night against enemies and then clear the animals again on the same stage. This happens every time enemies spawn.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Trophy Guide & Roadmap

 Compassion for Living Things

Interact with animals in the bases 20 times.

This can be earned as soon as you complete the first stage, Myoko Pass. After the stage, you’ll be introduced to the base mechanic.

There will be dog around your base. Interact with it to pet it. You can pet it 20 times for this Trophy/Achievement or pet different animals as they appear in your base over the course of your playthroughs.
