Welcome to the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Trophy guide!
- 6/10 – Estimated Difficulty
- This depends on how you go about getting FOXHOUND. Beating the game on Very Easy first while collecting everything will make your FOXHOUND run somewhat easier. If not, it will be harder.
- 25 Estimated Hours to Completion
- 2 – Minimum Play-Throughs
- Everything Except for Story Related – Missable Trophies
- 1 – Difficulty Related Trophy
- 0 – Online Trophies/Achievements
The majority of this list is collectible based. You’re going to need to collect every plant, animal, mushroom, camouflage, face paint and Kerotan.
Kerotan are toy frogs that are found throughout the game. You’ll need to shoot each of them. You’ll know you’ve “collected” one as they will make a very distinct noise when shot.
If you die after collecting something or shooting a Kerotan, you will need to collect it again if you are in the same area. The game is broken up into different named areas. If you save the game, you’ll be back at the start of the area when you load the file. So, keep that in mind when collecting everything. If you’re gonna end your session, save your game in the next area before collecting anything.
Playthrough 1
First, you’re going to want to play through the game on Very Easy in order to collect everything, unlock everything as well as earn all miscellaneous Trophies.
You will need to get through the game without killing anyone. That includes the bosses. You’re going to need to use non lethal weapons against the bosses and during the game.
However, there are Trophies that are going to require you to kill enemies.
Save your game at the beginning of an area, get the kill related Trophiesand then re-load your save to before you killed anyone. That way, the kills will not have counted but you will have unlocked the Trophies.
Everything can be followed in chronological order by following the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Collectible guide. This includes missable Trophy locations.
Playthrough 2 – FOXHOUND
The Foxhound Trophy/Achievement is going to be the most difficult Trophy to earn here. However, it is not as bad as it looks at first glance due to some added features in the remake. New Game + has been added to the game. So everything you earn on your Very Easy playthrough will be available on Extreme. There are some items that cannot be used, but you’ll have camos that will make the game easier.
This is something that you should save for last. You’re going to need to really understand this game and what to do before attempting this Trophy.

CQC Slam a guard and knock him out
MISSABLE
Sneak up to an enemy with no weapon equipped or with one that can be used in CQC and press
while pushing
in any direction to slam the enemy down. They have to be knocked out for it to count. Don’t hold them first. You need to grab and throw right away.
Tell Me Where the Bomb Is
CQC Interrogate an enemy
MISSABLE
Sneak up to an enemy with no weapon equipped and hold
. While you’re holding the enemy, press in
.
While interrogating the enemy, keep interrogating them until they give you an frequency to call for fire support. If you don’t get one, you’ll need to interrogate a different enemy for it. The frequency they give you is needed for the “Friendly Fire” Trophy.
Like He Just Doesn’t Care
Hold up an enemy
MISSABLE
Sneak up to an enemy while holding
to quiet your steps and then aim your weapon at the enemy from very close range. If you aren’t already, get in front of them and aim at their head to make them shimmy and drop items.
Don’t Touch the Sides
Use a knife to remove a bullet
MISSABLE
Sometimes when Snake is shot, part of the health bar will be red. That means you’ve sustained an injury.
Go into the Cure screen and use the knife to remove the bullet. This is technically missable, but you’ll likely get it when fighting Volgin.
Ocelot Always Gets His Man
Spot Ocelot in the background when Snake is shaking the President’s hand
MISSABLE
During the final cutscenes, Snake will be meeting with the President. When he shakes the President’s hand, hold

Ralph Called
Make Snake throw up
MISSABLE
There are two ways to do this.
- You can eat rotten food and it will make Snake throw up. Food will become rotten in your inventory over time just by leaving it in there for awhile.
- Go into the Model Viewer screen and spin Snake in a circle with
. Spin him around several times and then back out of the menu to get back to gameplay. Snake will throw up if you spun him around enough times.
Can I Keep It?
Capture any animal alive
MISSABLE
To capture an animal alive, you need to tranquilize it or use a mousetrap. Once captured or tranquilized, a cage will appear like an item box. Run over it to pick it up.
Larger animals cannot be captured alive.

See the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Collectible Guide for more information.
A Good Man Is Hard to Find
Achieve a camouflage index of 100%
MISSABLE
Before you can get this, you will need to acquire the Moss camo.
In order to do that, you will need to sneak up on The End during the boss battle against him and hold him up three times.
Wear the Thermal Goggles to see his foot prints. Follow them. When you’re close, use the D-Pad to quietly walk up behind him.
Sneak up to him and point your gun at him to hold him up. This will earn the “You Snooze, You Lose” Trophy/Achievement.
You can actually get all three holdups done at once. Point your gun at him until he says, “I don’t think so.” When he says that, aim your weapon away from him and then point it back at him. Repeat that three times until he drops the Moss camo. If he gets away, you’ll need to sneak up on him again.
Once you have the Moss camo, equip it and the Woodland face paint. Then, lay down and don’t move.
I Can Totally See You
Achieve a camouflage index of +90%
MISSABLE
This can be earned immediately at the beginning using the leaf uniform + woodland face paint. With both equipped, just lay down in the grass.
Time Paradox
Create the Ocelot Time Paradox
MISSABLE
This is earned during the Virtuous Mission. This is the intro of the game.
After finding Sokolov, there will be a cutscene where Snake takes out Ocelot and his men. When that is over, save your game.
Ocelot will be unconscious on the ground near you. Shoot him and kill him to create the paradox.
Re-load your save after getting the Trophy/Achievement so that you can still earn the “PEACE WALKER” Trophy/Achievement.
Taste the poison!
Throw a poisonous creature at an enemy
MISSABLE
There are a few animals you can use to poison a guard.
Animals can be captured alive if they are shot with a non lethal weapon. You need to capture any one of the animals listed below alive:
- Poison Dart Frog
- Emperor Scorpion
- Cobalt Tarantula
- Coral Snake
- King Cobra
- Taiwanese Cobra
When you’ve captured one, go to your Backpack > Weapons and then select the animal to add to your weapons. Equip the animal and throw it at an enemy. You need to throw it so that the animal hits and lands on the enemy in order for this to register.
Remember to make a save before doing this to keep your “PEACE WALKER” run intact.
Cinephile
Listen to Para-Medic talk about movies after you save
In order to save your game, you need to call Para-Medic on the radio at frequency 140.96. After saving the game, Para-Medic will briefly talk about various movies. Just listen to the conversation to earn this Trophy.
Friendly Fire
Call in fire support
MISSABLE
Before you can call in fire support, you will need to interrogate an enemy. You can interrogate an enemy multiple times by clicking in L3 while holding them. If they don’t give you a frequency, you’ll have to interrogate someone else. Fire support can only be called in in certain locations of the game. Once you’re in a viable location with a frequency, you can then call it on the radio. Make sure to interrogate an enemy in the locations listed below.
Remember to make a save before doing this to keep your “PEACE WALKER” run intact.
- Bolshaya Past South
- Ponizovje West
- Ponizovje Warehouse: Exterior
- Ponizovje Warehouse
- Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior
- Svyatogornyj East

Beekeeper
Use bees to harass an enemy
MISSABLE
There are two ways that this can be earned.
First, you can shoot a beehive that is hanging from a tree near an enemy. It’ll drop and the bees will chase the enemy away.
This can easily be earned early in the game when you come to the bridge in Dolinovodno during the Virtous Mission. There will be a beehive in the tree near the next to the bridge with an enemy underneath it.
If you don’t get it there, you can shoot a hive down and collect it and then throw it at an enemy.
Just Because
Blow up an armory or provisions storehouse with TNT
MISSABLE
Armory and provisions storehouses are small rooms that have ammo or food in them. Most armory storehouses will also have TNT in them.
Pick up the TNT and set it inside of the storehouse. Get out of it and then blow the TNT.
Make sure there are no guards inside or else you’ll end up with a kill which will void the “PEACE WALKER” Trophy/Achievement.
This can be first earned at Bolshaya Past Base. There is TNT in the small building in the top right corner of the area.
Mostly Dead
Use the Fake Death pill
MISSABLE
This can be earned as soon as you start the game. Equip the Fake Death Pill and use it.
Press Left on the D-Pad at the game over screen to use the Revive Pill to revive yourself.
You Snooze, You Lose
Sneak up on The End and hold him up to make him drop an item
MISSABLE
See the “A Good Man is Hard to Find” Trophy/Achievement above for more details.
The Early End
Kill The End before the boss battle
MISSABLE
This can be earned after fighting The Pain.
You’ll be walking through a river in the location, Ponizovje South.
Make your way to the end of the river. There will be two paths to take. Left and straight. Take the left path.
Go into the storage room and pick up the SVD.
Exit Ponizovje West, equip the SVD and then save your game.
As you enter the Ponizovje Warhouse: Exterior location, there will be a cutscene with The End. As soon as the cutscene is over, look through the scope of your SVD at the docks and you’ll have a shot on The End. Shoot him in the head to kill him. After the Trophy/Achievement pops, re-load your save. Killing The End here will count as a kill, so you need to re-load in order to keep your “PEACE WALKER” run intact.
Mud Scientist
Get dirty while wearing the Scientist uniform
MISSABLE
You’ll be given the Scientist uniform as part of the story. Put it on in the next area, Chyornyj Prud, and then crawl through the mud by the water.
War Has Changed
Start a game in New Style
This is earned as soon as you start a new game. You’ll be given the choice between the New and Legacy Styles for your playthrough. Choose the New Style for “War Has Changed” and Legacy Style for “Old Snake, New Tricks.”
Old Snake, New Tricks
Start a game in Legacy Style
See the “War Has Changed” Trophy above for details.
Paparazzo Snake
Use Photo Mode for the first time
MISSABLE
This can be earned at any time. Press Options > Photo Mode.
Wax On, Wax Off
Parry all of the Boss’s CQC attacks
MISSABLE
This Trophy is a little misleading. You don’t need to parry every single attack she does, you just need to parry the different attacks that she has. She only has 2 of them. The first one will happen right at the beginning of the fight when she charges at you. The second attack will happen after you get her health down at least half way. When she is below half health, get near her to get her to attack you.
When she goes to attack you with CQC, press
when the game slows down to counter her. The first attack will only need one 1 counter. The second attack will have 2 attacks that need to be countered. The game will slow down both times during the combo to prompt you for a counter.
So, if you mess it up, you’re still good. You just need to counter both of her attacks one time during the same fight.
You can make a save at the beginning of the fight to reload just in case you don’t get this.
Believe It or Not
Catch a Tsuchinoko
MISSABLE
Before you can catch a Tsuchinoko, you will need to have mousetraps.
After beating The Fear, place your mousetraps in the around the area where you picked up the Spider camo. Place them and wait for them to go off. Check to see what you’ve caught until you catch a Tsuchinoko. Just release everything else until you find one.
You won’t actually see the Tsuchinoko on the ground. It’ll just be a random catch. The mousetrap will still be active on the ground after picking up the caged animal. If you want to pick up a placed mousetrap, crawl over it.
Once you catch it, do not eat it and do not dispose of it. You have to keep this in your inventory for the entire game in order to receive a special face paint.
If you kept this in your inventory, it will be crawling around outside of the waterfall. Do not kill it. Instead, use a tranquilizer to put it to sleep and capture it again. You won’t need to use a mousetrap this time. You’ll be able to see it. Leave it in your inventory for the rest of the game. Do not eat it or dispose of it.
*NOTE* You need to finish the game with it in your inventory in order to receive the Infinity face paint. However, you also need to eat it in order to add it to the food collection. Once you get it, make a save, eat it and then reload your save so that you continue with it in your inventory. You will not lose it again after picking it back up outside of the waterfall.
It Ain’t Easy Being Green
Attack all 64 Kerotans
MISSABLE
See the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Collectible Guide for more information.
It’s Duck Season
Attack all 64 GA-KOs
MISSABLE
See the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Collectible Guide for more information.
Like a Boss
Finish the game on any difficulty
This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.
PEACE WALKER
Finish game without killing anyone
MISSABLE
In order to do this, you’re going to only need to use non lethal weapons. You cannot kill anyone. That includes bosses. You’re going to need to use non lethal weapons to defeat bosses.
If you’re playing on Very Easy, the game will give you a weapon called the EZ Gun. This is a non lethal suppressed weapon that has infinite ammo. You can spam this weapon through your entire play through.
Remember to save your game before going for any kill related Trophies. Do them, and then reload your save.
When “fighting” The Sorrow, the river should be empty except for the bosses.
You can shoot the enemies that are chasing you at the end of the game with non lethal weapons. They will crash, but these won’t count as a kill.
Gastronome
Achieve a 100% for your Food Collection
MISSABLE
For this, you’re going to need to collect every animal, fruit and vegetable. Unlike the original MGS3, you do have to eat one of every thing.
You can keep track of your progress in the Main Menu > Extras > Food Collection.
See the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Collectible Guide for locations of every thing required.
A Snake Has Many Skins
Obtain every camouflage uniform and face paint
MISSABLE
Most of the uniforms are found as items in the game, but others are collected by defeating bosses with non lethal weapons. Face paints are found as items and earned as rewards after completing the game.
See the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Collectible Guide for locations of every thing required.
FOXHOUND
Earn the title of FOXHOUND
MISSABLE
In order to earn the Foxhound title, you’re going to have to beat the game with the following requirements:
- Extreme Difficulty
- Under 5 Hours
- No Special Items
- Stealth
- Infinity Face Paint
- EZ Gun
- 0 Continues
- 0 Life Medicine Used
- 0 Humans Killed
- Serious Injuries: 20 Or less
- 0 Alert Modes
General Tips:
- Skip all cutscenes and codec calls. These will add to your time.
- A “Serious Injury” is anything that requires you to go into the cure screen to heal Snake as a result of gameplay. Story sections don’t count.
- Play on New Game +
- A serious injury is anything that requires you to use the Cure menu to heal Snake. This does include Leeches. However, if you’ve already beaten the game, use the Hornet Stripe camo and it will repel leeches when needed.
- Shoot all 64 GA-KO on a different playthrough in order to unlock the AT-Camo. This will double your camo percentage.
- Pausing the game with the Options button stops the play time timer. Backpack menu and codec menu does not stop the timer.
- There is no save limit in Delta. You can make a save at the beginning of each area and reload it if anything goes wrong to try and get through it again.
- If you get spotted or killed, quit out and reload your manual save.
- Beat the game on Very Easy first to unlock camos and items that can be used on a NG+ playthrough on Extreme.
- Use the Healing Frequencies to regain stamina if needed.
- Using non lethal rounds on the enemies chasing you at the end of the game will not count as a kill when they crash.
- Killing enemies by shooting explosive barrels do not count as kills.
- Take off suppressors during boss fights. That way, you can save them while wearing a different camo than Desert Tiger.
- You can check your progress at any time by pausing the game and looking at records.
- Do not kill The End by advancing the timer (old age). He will not drop the Mosin Nagant if he dies this way. You need this weapon for future boss fights.
- Spirit Camo silences footsteps. This is unlocked by making it to the end of the Sorrow’s river.
- Grenade Camo gives infinite grenades. Rewarded for completing the game.
- Use the Hornet Stripe camo when swimming through water to prevent leaches from sticking on to you. Leeches count as a serious injury. Beat The Pain non lethally.
- Wear the Cold War camo during the escape section at the end of the game. When facing enemies, they will not shoot at you. Beat Volgin non lethally.
- Desert Tiger camo prevents suppressors from wearing down. Rewarded for completing the game.
- DPM doubles your natural life recovery. Rewarded for completing the game.
- Flecktarn prevents your batteries from draining. Rewarded for completing the game.
- The Sneaking Suit reduces damage by half and slows down stamina drain. Found in the locker where you put Raikov after returning to it the second time.
Boss Fight Tips:
Grab the Smoke Grenades from Rassvet. You’ll need them for the fight against The Pain. Grab the AK-47 from there if you don’t have the Patriot as well. Pick up the Cardboard box found in this same area near the Smoke Grenades. It will make escaping Graniny Gorki Lab much easier.
- Ocelot
Take cover behind the boulder on the left. You can stay there for the duration of the fight. Make sure to kill the snake on the ground near the boulder to avoid taking a serious injury with a bite. You can shoot the hornet nests above Ocelot to stun him. You can also use stun grenades. If you’ve beaten the game already, you’ll have access to the Grenade Camo. Take shots when you’re able.
- The Pain
To me, this was the toughest fight on Extreme. The environment it takes place in adds an extra layer of difficulty.
If you’ve already beaten the game, use the Patriot to shoot The Pain and the very start of the fight in order to disrupt his opening attack. If not, you can use the AK-47 to do the same. After that, use the MK. 22 to shoot him. If you can recognize when he is going to throw the scent at you, you can use the Patriot to shoot him and stop the attack. Just make sure not to kill him with it. If the scent is on you, jump in the water and quickly swim over to the island on the right. Whenever you go underwater, don’t stay in the same place for too long. He will throw grenades at you. When you are climbing out of the water and onto the small islands, you won’t take damage. So you can use this to avoid grenades. If a grenade lands in the water near you climb out and you won’t take damage while climbing up. When the hornets cover The Pain, throw a Smoke Grenade at him and then quickly get a shot or two in on him. Wear the Grenade camo for this. When he uses the Tommy Gun, get in the water and hide behind one of the stone islands and just wait for him to stop firing. Swim underwater to avoid bullet bees and any grenades that are carried over by hornets can be shot down. If you’re fast enough, shoot his grenade before the hornets carry it over and the explosion will take off the hornets covering him.
- The Fear
For this fight, you’re going to want to wear the Flecktarn camo. This will prevent battery drain. With that on, you can wear Thermal Goggles for the entire fight. These are important because he will be wearing Stealth and will be jumping from tree to tree. You need to be able to keep track of him. When he lands on a branch, hit him with a shot. Just keep your eye on him and shoot him when he lands on a branch. If he shoots at you, run away because he will also drop a grenade. When his stamina gets low, he will begin shooting down food. If he eats it, he will replenish his stamina bar. You can pick up the food he shoots down to prevent him from eating it. But, he will just try to shoot down another one. So keep picking up the food he shoots down. The upside to this is, he won’t be focused on shooting you anymore. He will spend the rest of the fight trying to eat. An alternative method to picking up his food is to throw him some spoiled food from your inventory if you have any. He will go for the food you threw first. He won’t be able to eat any more if he eats spoiled food. Outside of that, there is not a whole to this fight. Just make sure to also avoid any of the traps that are laid in the area.
- The End
Do not kill the end by manipulating the console clock. You’re going to need to track him down and beat him. You can utilize the Thermal Goggles + Flecktarn camo here. You’ll be able to see his footprints with the Thermal Goggles. When searching for him, keep an eye out for the glint of his scope. You can actually make saves mid battle when entering a new area, but make sure to not wait too long when loading those files. If you start the fight, you need to make sure to finish it in that sitting. Otherwise, The End will tranq Snake if you’re gone too long and you’ll wake up further back and will need to backtrack quite a ways to get back to the fight. You can also use the Spirit camo to hide your footsteps to make it easier to get closer to him. You can get three shots in on him before he drops a Stun Grenade and runs off. After your third shot, try to get away from him so that you aren’t stunned by the grenade for too long. After that clears, use the Thermal Goggles to track where he went and follow.
- The Fury
Wear the Fire camo and stay on the move here. You can get three shots in on him before he attacks with the flamethrower. After your third shot, run away to avoid the fire. Stay on the move putting distance between you two. You basically want to go to one end of the area, inflict damage and then head to the opposite end and repeat. Look for what direction he is shooting fire. That’s the direction he will be going. So, you can wait for him and shoot him as he comes out of a hallway.
- Volgin
This fight isn’t that bad once you learn his attacks. Just about all of his attacks can be avoided by just running the opposite direction. As soon as he finishes an attack, run up to him and hold
when you’re close to slam him down to the ground. Once he’s down, shoot him with the MK22. As soon as you shoot him, unequip your weapon. You do not want to have a weapon equipped while fighting him. Otherwise, you will not be able to avoid his attacks. Equip it to shoot him and then quickly unequip it. You can repeat the CQC slam method all fight long. When he uses the panel on the wall for electricity, you can get about 3 shots to his head. During the second phase of the fight, he’ll throw both arms up and then shoot bullets in all directions. The only way to avoid that is to go prone. He does have one other attack where he will electrify the ground. You can dodge that by rolling over the electricity.
- Shagohod
Shoot the treads to stop it from moving and then shoot the damaged area on the backside. Use the quick reload with the RPG.
- Volgin
Shoot a tread to distract Volgin. While he’s distracted, shoot him in the head with the Mosin Nagant. Use the AK or Patriot to shoot down any missiles fired at you.
- The Boss
When the fight starts, The Boss will rush you. Press
during her attack when the game slows down to counter it. From there, get some distance between you two and equip the Snow camo/face paint. Use the Mosin Nagant to snipe her from a distance. If you equip the AT-Camo, she won’t be able to find you. Just continue to snipe her until the fight is over.
