Welcome to the Silent Hill f Trophy Walkthrough!

The Trophy guide below is written in a way that you will collect and earn everything in chronological order. Just about every Trophy on this list is missable. Some of them take place across multiple chapters. Some even take place across multiple playthrough. This is why the guide below was written in the way that it is.

Silent Hill f has three difficulties for action and for puzzles. The difficulties for action stack. The difficulties for puzzles do not stack. That means you would need to play through the game three times. One on each difficulty. You’ll need at least three playthroughs in order to unlock all of the endings, anyway.

You can find items called “offerings” that can be exchanged for “faith.” Faith is then used to buy upgrades for Hinako as well as Omamori. Omamori are basically buffs you can apply to Hinako. You’re going to want to collect most of these during your first two playthroughs in order to make the final playthrough easier. Omamori can be found in the environment as well as bought from shrines.

Anything you need to know, when you need to know it will be called out in the guide below.

Playthrough #1 – Action Difficulty: Story / Puzzle Difficulty: Story

For your first playthrough, you’re really just getting to know the game and get used to the combat. There are miscellaneous Trophies to be earned, upgrades to be unlocked as well as Omamori to be collected. Collect all of the offerings in order to maximize your upgrades/Omamori. You won’t be able to fully upgrade Hinako on this playthrough or buy all of the Omamori, but you need to get as many as you can. Those are all listed in chronological order in the guide.

In terms of endings, you can only get ending #1 on this playthrough. So there’s no need to worry about other endings this time through.

Playthrough #2 – NG+ Action Difficulty: Story / Puzzle Difficulty: Hard

For playthrough #2, we’re going to be focusing on getting endings #2, #3 and #5. You can play through the game up until a certain point where you can then make a separate manual save. This will make it so that you can finish the game, unlock ending #2 and then reload that save to finish the game with ending #3. You’ll have to play some of the game again, but it won’t be very much. It’s certainly shorter than dedicating an entire playthrough to it. The point at which you should make that save is noted in the guide. In addition to those endings, we can also get a puzzle completed for these endings that is also needed for ending #4. It will remain completed during playthrough #3 for ending #4.

As for ending #5, this is the UFO ending that Silent Hill players will already be familiar with. It does not count as a full ending. It can be unlocked fairly early on during playthrough #2. Before doing the UFO ending, you will need to make a separate manual save so that you can do it, and then load it in order to continue on with the playthrough without having to start over.

You’ll want to continue buying upgrades and collecting Omamori during this run of the game. The action difficulty remains at “Story” so that you can get through this step a little faster. Puzzle difficulty will need to be set to “Hard,” however.

Speaking of the Omamori, you can spend upgrades on buying extra Omamori slots. You can have up to 4 by the end of this playthrough. You need to have all four of these unlocked by the end here. These are unlocked at the same shrines you upgrade Hinako at. If you have collected every Upgrade Ema across the first two playthroughs, there will only be 1 left in the game that you will collect during playthrough #3. You have a choice at the end here. If you save an Upgrade Ema in your inventory when you beat this playthrough, it will carry over to your NG+ playthrough for ending #4. Doing so will allow you to buy a fifth Omamori slot. It is recommended to do this, but the choice is yours. You can find that final Upgrade Ema and do it then, but that final Upgrade Ema is found later on in the game. The next playthrough will be on the hardest difficulty. So having that fifth Omamori slot unlocked earlier on will make that run easier.

The last thing to know about this playthrough is that you cannot use any Red Capsules. Discard them out of your inventory when you are given them as part of the story and do not pick anymore up during your run. This is required for endings #2, #3 and #4.

Playthrough #3 – NG+ Action Difficulty: Lost in the Fog / Puzzle Difficulty: Lost in the Fog

For the third and final playthrough, you should be fully upgraded and have most of the Omamori. You will also be familiar with the game and know what to expect from the combat. You’ll need to turn both the action and puzzle difficulty up to “Lost in the Fog.” Beating the game on this difficulty will unlock both Trophies for action difficulties “Hard” and “Lost in the Fog.” Those will stack.

You’ll take more damage on this difficulty and the enemies will have more health. Fortunately, there are Omamori you can equip to make things more manageable. Serpent will make it so that you auto counter enemies. Countering an enemy will also stun it, so you can equip the Beetle Omamori to increase damage on stunned enemies. The Swallow Omamori will also increase damage after a counter is performed without using focus. So you can actually stack some damage here. The Serpent Omamori will use Sanity, so you’re going to need to make sure to have Sanity restoring items. The other Omamori you can use is the Suzuran. This will make perfect dodges easier to perform. A perfect dodge actually refills your stamina, so that can be very crucial during combat.

Outside of all that, make sure to finish fully upgrading Hinako as well as collecting all Omamori.

Also, you cannot use any Red Capsules. Discard them out of your inventory when you are given them as part of the story and do not pick anymore up during your run.

Ending #1 – Action: Story / Puzzle: Story

While playing through this first run, you’re going to want to collect as many offerings as you can. You can sell these and any healing items at Hokora shrines for Faith. Faith is then used to buy upgrades for Hinako. You can also buy Omamori from the shrines with Faith. You will need to buy all Omamori and upgrades for Trophies. Buying these will not be listed in the guide below. Buy these whenever you want or are able to. You wont have enough Faith to buy everything in a single playthrough. We’re going to be playing through three times here, so there will be enough to buy everything by the third playthrough. Just remember to stay on top of buying these.

Ebisugaoki

Like the Fleeing Hare

This is earned right after meeting up with Hinako’s friends near the beginning of the game. The Fog Monster will attack during the cutscene and you will need to run from it. In order to earn this Trophy, you cannot take any damage during the chase sequence. Just keep running and stay away from the red vines that reach out from the walls. If you get too close to them, they’ll grab you. Press to duck under or climb over obstacles in your path. The Trophy will pop when you reach the end of the sequence and a ladder is dropped down to you. If you take damage, quit out of the game and try again.

Bloody Key

After running from the first enemy, you’ll make your way to a house. Once inside, go upstairs and enter the door at the top of the stairs ahead of you to find this key on the ground by interacting with a bloody mask.

Back Door Key

From the Bloody Key, go through the other door at the top of the stairs. This will be found on a small table inside.

Omamori – Whale

Before progressing with the story, go downstairs and use the Back Door Key to exit the house. Go down the ladder outside and then immediately turn right to find this Omamori.

You can return upstairs to the room where the Back Door Key was found and use the Bloody Door Key to continue with the story.

Offering – Antique Comb

Once you’re back outside, there will be an enemy ahead of you. Run past it and take the first left. Go left again and follow the path to the stairs. This will be on the wall to the right at the bottom of the stairs. Grab it before going up.

Shrine Path

Altar Puzzle (Story Difficulty)

Place the items in the following spots:

Untouchable / Omamori – Cat / Shrine Vault Puzzle (Story) / Offering – Dried Carcass

After interacting with the doll, you will be up against a new enemy type. You cannot take any damage from it in order to earn the Untouchable Trophy. If you take damage, quit out of the game and try again. As soon as the fight begins, lock onto the enemy and wait for the red flash. When that happens, use a heavy attack on it. If you timed it right, it should be stunned. Get another heavy attack in on it and then back up to regain stamina. Dodge or counter its attacks and attack it until it fades away. It won’t stay dead for the whole section, but you can get away after this first fight. This enemy is blind, so it won’t know where you are after it comes back. It’ll walk around the area looking for you. If you can stay away from it, you can actually avoid having to fight it again. So, if you can just survive that initial fight with no damage, you can finish the rest without having to fight again. There is a Hokora on the west side that you can save at in order to make this easier if needed. You can actually save after picking up a puzzle piece and reload if you end up taking damage.

The Cat Omamori is found behind a Cat Ema. You have to pick that up before getting the puzzle pieces. Once you have a puzzle piece, you will no longer be able to interact with the Ema. So make sure to grab the Cat one first.

Gather the three Ema needed to solve the puzzle. The locations of the correct pieces area random for everyone, but where the pieces are housed will be the same. One Ema can be found on the south of the area, and the 2 other ones can be found on the west side of the area. you are looking for the following pieces:

When you see one of those (including the cat), look at it with and then press to flip it over.

As for the Offering, it is found on a rock next to a bridge that leads to the Hokora on the west side near Ema locations 2 and 3.

Once you have everything, return to the locked door and input the code from the Ema to unlock the door. If you did not take damage, you will earn the Untouchable Trophy as the door is opened.

Open it to find the Omamori as well as earn the Trophy.

Instead, continue forward and you’ll be able to enter an open area on the right. Cross the small wooden platform and you can find this on a wooden trough by a blue barrel.

Acupuncture Specialist / Offerings / Field Puzzle (Story)

In the next section, you’re going to need to find thorns on scarecrows in order to continue. For this Trophy, you need to only pick the correct scarecrow in each area. If you pick the wrong one, you’ll be attacked and will need to quit out and try again. There are five areas to this section and each one will have a checkpoint. So, if you mess up, the checkpoint will allow you continue midway through the section. The scarecrows you want to search will be dressed similarly to Hinako. When you pick the right one, the scarecrow will point you in the direction that you need to go.

While doing this, there are boxes/baskets in each of the areas. You can find these and they will sometimes have an Offering in them. The locations are random, so be sure to check these as you make your way through.

It will glow gold while charging up. In order to earn this Trophy, you’re going to need to disrupt this attack each time it tries. You will only have a few seconds before the attack is charged and then used. If used, you will be stunned again. You need to very quickly run up to the boss and hit her before she is done charging the attack. The boss will go through this phase two times. Each time it will use the attack three times. So, you’re going to need disrupt this attack 6 times in order to earn the Trophy. If you mess up, you can quit out and load your save to try again.

Mural Puzzle

Ebisugaoki (6)

Where Are You Going?

As soon as the chapter starts, you’ll be in the chase. Run by the enemies here and keep going until you see the fog monster walking away. Run toward it. When you get close to it, it’ll teleport further away. When that happens, just keep running. You’ll come to areas with the enemies that spawn other enemies. You have to kill those in order to unblock the path. As soon as the path is clear, keep running. You’ll need to catch up to it three times. As long as you skip the smaller enemies and keep running, you should have no issue doing this.

Also, there are a few collectibles to be picked up during the chase here. As long as you’re fast with these, you should still be okay.

Offering – Dried Carcass

After you have to fight the first monster blocking the path during the chase, there will be a Hokora shrine. Keep following the path for just a few steps. When the enemy jumps at you from the right, go to the side of the house to find this in a crate.

Upgrade Ema #11

After fighting the second enemy blocking your path, continue forward and go right at the blue truck on the path. This will be at the end of the path on a barrel.

Offering – Antique Comb / Offering – Dried Carcass

Both of these are found right next to each other in the same room as the Hokora shrine. They are both on a big chest in the corner of the room.

Before continuing, make a save. If you die during the next boss fight, you will miss the The Bird that Flies Highest Trophy. If you die, you can quit out and load that save to try again.

The Bird that Flies Highest

During the final boss fight, you cannot die. If you die, you can quit out and load your save to try again. If you die, do not select “Continue” from the game over screen. If you have a Blessed Hand Mirror, you can equip this. It will prevent a death one time if you have it equipped. It will break after being used.

Make sure to heal before your health gets too low. The boss’ attacks can deal a lot of damage. When the floor is covered in red, make sure to heal so that your health is full. The boss will do an explosive attack that will do a lot of damage.

Ending #1 – Coming Home to Roost

This is the only ending you can get on this playthrough. Make a New Game + save file.

New Game + Endings #2, #3 and #5 ->

New Game + Endings #2 and #3 – Action: Story / Hard: Puzzle Difficulty

On this playthrough, set the difficulty to hard for puzzles. There is a Trophy for beating the game on hard for action, but the action difficulties stack. So, our third play through will be on Lost in the Fog difficulty. Beating that one will unlock both the hard and Lost in the Fog action Trophies. So, that means you can set the action difficulty to Story for NG+.

We’ll be knocking out endings 2, 3 and 5 here. We’ll be setting up endings 2 and 3 together until we reach a certain point in the story. At that point, you can make a separate manual save, do an ending, reload that save and then do the other ending. That will require a bit of a partial playthrough though. You can do either ending in whichever order you want. For the sake of continuity, this guide will be going 2 first and then 3.

You still want to continue upgrading Hinako as well as buying Omamori from Hokora shrines. Omamoris collected in playthrough #1 can be either healing items or offerings during this playthrough. Those won’t be listed here as they are the same locations as the first playthrough. You can refer back to that portion of the guide if needed.

One last major thing to note here, do not use any Red Pills during this playthrough. If you have them in your inventory, discard them. Don’t even pick them up. That way, you won’t use one accidentally. Picking them up inside of Shu’s Workshop will also fail the Winners Don’t Do Drugs Trophy. So, just avoid them altogether.

You also have the choice of saving one last Upgrade Ema for your 4th ending playthrough. If you need to fully upgrade Hinako, make a save, purchase the final upgrade to pop the Trophy and then reload the save to get the ema back. You can buy a fifth Omamori slot during the 4th ending playthrough by following this guide. If you don’t want to save the last Ema, you’ll get one during the ending #4 playthrough, but it won’t be until later in the game. So, if you want to have the fifth Omamori slot for most of the playthrough, save 1 Ema.

Mural Puzzle

Puppetmaster

Before going into this boss fight, you’re going to want to equip the Boar and Suzuran Omamori. You’re going to need your stamina in order to earn this Trophy.

After the boss takes a certain amount damage, it will teleport further away. When it does this, get ready to dodge. The boss will shoot golden arrows at you. You cannot take any damage from those arrows in order to earn this Trophy. Dodge the arrows as they come in. With the Suzuran Omamori, perfect dodges will have a bigger window. Performing a perfect dodge will fully restore your stamina as well. This is important because you’re going to have to perform several dodges in order to avoid all of the arrows. The boss has three different attacks with the arrows, but they are random as to which ones it’ll use.

During the arrow section, make sure to keep running toward the boss. You need to get close to him to stop the arrow attacks. If an arrow hits you, quit out and reload your save to try again.

Fox’s Wedding – Ending #2

After the boss fight, a few scenes will play and then this ending will be completed. Now, it’ll be time to wrap up ending #3.

Ending #3 – Continuing From a Save Point in Ending #2

Reload the separate save we made after obtaining the Sacred Sword. From there, we need to continue on to the end of the game without purifying the Sacred Sword.

All you have to do here is not purify the sword. The puzzle solutions for this ending will be listed below.

If you want, you can save 1 Upgrade Ema for your eventual ending #4 playthrough if you have collected them all up to this point. You can use it to unlock a 5th Omamori slot. If you need it to finish upgrading all your stats, make a save, upgrade to pop the Trophy, and then reload your save to get it back. You will get an Upgrade Ema during playthrough #4, but it won’t be until later on in the game. It is more helpful to have that 5th Omamori slot earlier in that playthrough, but the choice is yours.

You should also try to finish unlocking the Omamori from the Hokora shrines. There is one that will make the playthrough for ending #4 easier. It’s the Serpent Omamori.

Fox Tamer

The final boss fight will start against Shiromuku. After damaging it a few times, you’ll have to fight a new boss, Shichibi.

During the fight with Shichibi, it will teleport away after taking a certain amount of damage. When it does this, enemies will spawn. In order to earn this Trophy, you need to kill all of these enemies each time they spawn. The boss will do this three times during the fight, so you’re going to have to kill three waves of enemies. Make sure to kill all of the enemies during a wave before attacking the boss again.

The Fox Wets Its Tail – Ending #3

Ending #3 will now be complete. All that should be left is ending #4. Make a save after all of the credits.

New Game + Playthrough #3 ->

Second New Game + Playthrough / Action: Lost in the Fog / Puzzle: Lost in the Fog

Load a save file that has two endings completed on it. It is a requirement for ending #4 to have at least two completed endings. The UFO ending does not count. It has to be #1 and #2, or #1 and #3. You can see the icons on the bottom right of the save file to show what endings are on each. It is recommended to choose the file where you are upgraded the most.

Set the difficulty to Lost in the Fog for both action and puzzle.

Make sure to collect and sell offerings as well as any healing items you may not need in order to finish fully upgrading Hinako and/or buying the Omamori from the shrines. If you have 1 Upgrade Ema left over, use it to upgrade for a fifth Omamori slot. You’ll get another Upgrade Ema later on in this playthrough.

You will also not need to do the Crimson Water puzzle. It will carry over to this playthrough as completed already.

Do not use or collect any red pills on this playthrough.

Character builds? In a Silent Hill game? Sorta! the following Omamori “builds” can be used to help make things a little easier:

Counters

Healing

Focus Attacks

The Suzuran Omamori can be added to these as well. That will make perfect dodges easier to do it.

Before taking on the final boss fight, make a separate manual save. If you are unable to beat the bosses in under the 10 minute time limit for the Trophy below, you can beat them however long it takes, finish the game and get ending #4. Then, you can reload that separate manual save, die against the boss a few times and then the game will give you the option to bump the difficulty down. With that, you can then try again on a lower difficulty.

God Slayer

The final boss fight will be against 2 different bosses. During the fight, you’ll alternate between the 2 Hinakos as each of them will be fighting a boss. In order to earn this Trophy, you’re going to have to beat both of the bosses in under 10 minutes.

Each of the bosses will have 3 phases. After doing 1 phase for each of them, you’ll get a checkpoint. Fortunately, dying and continuing from that checkpoint will not add to the timer. So that makes this a very generous 10 minutes.

Ending #4 – Ebisugaoka in Silence

After beating the two bosses, you will reach ending #4. If you were unable to beat the 2 final bosses in under 10 min, reload the manual save and try again on a lower difficulty.
