Welcome to the Super Mario RPG (Remake) Walkthrough!

The guide below will walk you through the entire game. All Star Pieces, Hidden Treasures, optional areas and optional bosses.

All of the objectives below are written in the order that they can obtained or completed. This includes story events.

After you’ve beaten the game, there is free roam. You’ll be able to go back and do whatever you may have missed or waited on. You can challenge the bosses to a rematch post game as well.

As the game begins, head forward and you’ll be in a hallway with several Terrapin enemies.

Get to the end of the hallway and you’ll have to fight two Terrapin enemies. Beat the two enemies and go through the door.

Follow the path to the end where you’ll find Bowser and Peach.

Use the super attack with and use the D-Pad to attack to the chain holding up the chandelier that Bowser is standing on.

After the following scenes, you’ll be with Toad at Mario’s Pad. Exit the house and speak to Toad to learn the save mechanics.

Exit to the bottom right and head to Bowser’s Keep.

After the scene, you’ll be back at the map screen.

Return to Mario’s Pad and speak to Toad again. Toad will then walk you through the mechanics of combat in Super Mario RPG.

After the tutorial, head to the right and go to Mushroom Way.

Mushroom Way

Here on Mushroom Way, you’ll find Goomba, Sky Troopa and Spikey enemies. You can fight them here to start earning experience. There are enough enemies here to make to Level 2.

Make your way through the path and fight the Goomba cornering Toad.

After the fight, Toad will give you a Honey Syrup.

Continue to the next area. Beat the enemies here and collect the items.

You’ll notice a Goomba standing on a rotating flower here. Beat the Goomba and then get on the flower. It’ll rotate you around. While on the flower, you can use it to get a higher jump. But you’ll only be able to reach the ledges you’re staring at. So wait for the flower to rotate toward the ledge you want to jump up to and then jump to it.

The chest on the bottom left has a Flower. The ledge on the top left has a Goomba and a Pick Me Up.

When you’re ready, jump up to the ledge where Toad is and fight the Paratroopa.

After the fight, Toad will give you a Flower Tab.

From there, head to the right side and enter the next area.

There will be a Lakitu dropping enemies here. He’ll keep dropping them, so you can farm them to level up if you’d like. We are approaching a boss fight, so you may want to level up in order to be ready for the fight.

When you’re ready, approach Hammer Bro to begin the boss fight.

Hammer Bros.

There will be two of them that you’ll need to beat. Focus on one at a time and make sure to block the hammer throw attack when it’s used. After taking down one of them, the other will use Valor Up. This will reduce your attack power, but it shouldn’t add much difficulty to the fight.

After the fight, you’ll now have the Hammer. You can use the Hammer in combat.

Exit the area and you’ll be back at the map screen. Head into Mushroom Kingdom.

Mushroom Kingdom

As you enter Mushroom Kingdom, there will be some buildings we can explore here.

Most of the buildings here are just for optional conversations.

Enter the building with the star above the door to find the inn where you can save and rest.

Next, enter the the building with the mushroom above the door.

This is the shop where you can buy and sell items.

While in the shop, go down the stairs in the back right corner.

Speak to the toad down in the basement and follow his instructions. Stand in front of him and jump to find your first Hidden Treasure.

He will explain to you that there are more Hidden Treasures to find throughout the game.

After the conversation, wait for him to over to the top right side. When he does, jump on his head and then jump again to find another Hidden Treasure.

After this, we can now head to the castle. You may want to save your game before continuing. It may help with the next Hidden Treasure.

As soon as you enter, speak to Toad and then jump on his head when he reaches the door and then jump up to the ledge. If you miss it, you can load your save file from Main Menu and try again.

Once on the ledge, jump up again to find the Hidden Treasure.

After that, go through the doorway and speak with the Chancellor.

After the conversation, exit through the hallway you entered from and speak to Toad. He’ll walk you to the Vault.

Go into the Vault and you’ll be able to get a mushroom, flower and 10 coins.

Exit the Vault and head into the open doorway on the opposite side of the hallway and you’ll be in Peach’s room.

If you interact with the wall just to the right of the fireplace, the toad in the room will give you a mushroom.

Exit the castle and a scene will play.

After the scene, speak with Mallow and agree to help him. He will then join your party.

From there, go to the shop and speak with the owner and he’ll give you a Pick Me Up.

Exit the shop and speak to Toad.

He’ll give you a map and show you were Croco went.

Take the exit of the area on the right to follow Croco. Travel to Bandit’s Way.

Bandit’s Way

As soon as you enter the area, Croco will run off. You’ll need to follow him through the area.

Make sure to fight the enemies in order to gain some experience.

Make your way through the area and then enter the next section where Croco will run off from you again.

Use the rotating flower to jump up and continue chasing him.

Use the yellow blocks to cross over and reach the ledge.

Drop down and get on the rotating flower. Wait until you area looking right and then jump to reveal a Hidden Treasure.

Continue through the next section battling enemies along the way. There is a chest near the back of the area near the exit you can open to find a mushroom. There is a K-9 underneath it.

In the next area, there will be 2 more yellow platforms. When you stand on one, the other will move. You’ll need to alternate standing on these in order to move them across the area and reach both chests.

The chest on the left has a Super Star in it. Drop down and take out the enemies as they rush in to the area. You’ll be getting experience for each one, so make sure to take out as many as you can.

The chest on the right has a flower in it.

Exit the area and then get the next chest.

You’ll need to corner Croco three times. You’ve got to approach him when he isn’t looking at you.

Wait for him to look away and then run into him from behind.

After that, it’ll be time for a boss fight against Croco.

Croco’s weakness is Mario’s fireball attack. Just keep attacking him with Mallow and Mario. Don’t forget to press before he hits you so you can block his attack.

After the fight, use the map to fast travel back to the Mushroom Kingdom.

Mushroom Kingdom

As soon as you return, you’ll see that there is a new problem to solve.

You’re going to have to rescue the toads.

Run into the Shymore chasing the toad right in front of you and beat them.

Next, go down to the stairs on your left and fight the next Shymore.

After the fight, return the wallet you picked up from Croco and give it to the toad. He’ll give you a Flower Tab as a reward.

Next, go to the building behind the previous area and fight the Shymore attacking the building.

From there, fight the Shymore attacking the toad next to the inn.

Now, enter the building on the far left side of town. Battle the two Shymores inside.

After those two are beaten, go upstairs in the same building to find another.

After that, enter the castle. Head to the right to go toward the vault and you’ll find another toad under attack.

After the fight, go down into the vault and collect the three chests. Exit the vault and go through the door where the previous fight just was.

Speak to the toad hiding in the corner and he’ll give you a Wake-Up Pin.

As you exit back into the main hallway, there will be Shymore chasing Toad toward you. Fight the Shymore.

Make your way to Peach’s bedroom fighting the Shymore along the way.

There will be two guarding the door to Peach’s room.

Enter the room and you’ll receive a Flower Tab. You can also save your game in here.

If you speak to the toad next to Peach’s bed, he will fully heal you.

With all that out of the way, head to the throne room to save the chancellor.

As soon as you enter the throne room, you’ll be speaking to Claymorton. Afterwards, it’ll be time for a boss battle against him and his Shymores.

During the fight, focus Mario’s attacks on Claymorton and use Mallow’s Thunderbolt attack on the Shymores.

Thunderbolt will attack all of the bodyguards at the same time as well as possibly stun Claymorton.

After the fight, you will have earned your first Star Piece.

Next, go speak to the chancellor who is huddled in the top left corner of the room.

During the conversation, Mallow will tell you where to head next. But first, we need to go to the shop and speak with the shopkeeper. He’ll give you a Cricket Pie.

From there, exit the shop and then exit the Mushroom Kingdom to the bottom left. Select Kero Sewers from the overworld screen and we’ll begin going after the next Star Piece.

Kero Sewers

To begin the area, just keep going through the pipes until you come to the area with two chests. There are multiple pipes, but they both lead to this same room.

The chest on the left has a flower in it.

The chest on the right side has a Huhwhat enemy in it. You’ll be in a fight against it when you open the chest.

Upon beating it, you’ll receive a Flower Jar as well as a Trueform Pin.

After getting the second chest, you can jump back up to the ledge your dropped from by jumping up from the second step.

Make your way up to the pipe at the very top of this area.

Enemies will run out from the cutouts in the wall as you pass by them.

As soon as you exit the pipe in the next area, there will be a chest above you. This chest has a Super Star in it. Get and run through the area taking out as many enemies as you can. Make sure to not drop down to the bottom level of this area.

After the Super Star is up, go in the pipe on the left side of this area.

Go down the left path in the this next area. There will be three Rat Funk enemies.

Take the pipe at the end.

In the next area, jump up to the right, beat the Rat Funk and then drop onto the pipe and go through it.

Hit the switch to drain the water in the next area and then go through the same pipe you used to enter here.

From the pipe, drop down and take the pipe in the bottom corner of the screen.

In the next area, there will be chests and a save box. The first chest will have a mushroom.

We can’t reach the other box yet, so equip the Trueform Pin and then save your game.

Head down the next pipe when you’re ready.

When you land, it’ll be time for a boss fight.

Belome

First, you want to make sure you have equipped the Trueform Pin. This will prevent you from being turned into a scarecrow during the fight.

Use Mario’s physical attack on him and Mallow’s Thunderbolt attack.

If he eats one of your characters, just keep attacking and he’ll spit them back out.

After the fight, we’ll be in Midas River.

Midas River

To start, you’re going to be falling down the waterfall. You can tap to swim against the current and collect coins.

Collect as many as you can as you go down the waterfall.

At first fork, go left to find frog coins.

At the second fork, go right to find another frog coin.

For the second minigame, you’re going to need to jump to collect coins. Jump from one barrel to the next and avoid the fish by jumping as well.

At the end, you’ll be given a frog coin if you collected at least 60 coins. You’ll also be given a Koopa Shell which is a weapon you can equip.

You can retry the course again by spending 30 coins.

Exit the area when ready and we’ll be off to Tadpole Pond.

Tadpole Pond

Stand on the stone in the next area and it’ll be time to meet Mallow’s grandpa, Frog Sage.

He’ll make a path for you by jumping across the tadpoles.

Speak with Frog Sage. After the conversation, speak to him again and you’ll give him the Cricket Pie and he will give you the Froggie Stick. This is a weapon you can equip to Mallow.

With all that done, head back across the tadpoles and go to the left side of the island.

A tadpole will appear. Speak with it and you’ll be introduced to the Frog Coin emporium.

You’ll be able to spend your frog coins here.

You can speak to the tadpole on the right to buy and sell from The Juice Bar.

If you go down to the bottom right area, you’ll enter Melody Bay.

There is a tadpole you can speak to before entering that will tell you a melody.

You’ll need to recreate it that by jumping on the tadpoles in the water when they are in the correct place.

When you’ve done it, you’ll be given the Alto Card which will allow you to buy Frogleg Cola from the Juice Bar.

When you’re done, exit through the way you entered and head for Rose Way.

Rose Way

Jump on the first yellow platform and it’ll take you to the next platform.

Get off at the first stop of the second platform to get the mushroom.

Ride the second platform to the third, but don’t get off. Wait and the platform will take you over to a flower you can pick up.

Get back on and ride to the third platform straight across to the left.

Exit the area, and you’ll see two Shy Guys riding on platforms. Beat them and then get on the second platform to find a chest that has a frog coin in it.

Return to the the moving yellow platforms and ride the third platform to the north and exit.

Fight the enemies and get through the next sections until you come to the areas with Shy Guys on chests.

Hit the chest to get the items and you’ll need to fight the Shy Guys.

Open all the chests and exit to the next area.

You’ll come to an area where Bowser can be seen with his minions. Follow them to Rose Town.

Rose Town

As you enter, you’ll notice some more toads that need your help.

First, enter the inn on the left to advance the story.

When you exit, go to the shop and get behind the counter.

Climb up on to the bookshelf behind counter and jump up to reveal a Hidden Treasure.

There is a second chest in here that you can get by climbing up on to the roof and going down the chimney outside.

From there, go to the north side of town and jump on the toad’s head to reach the house on the ledge.

Enter the house, but do not open the chests. Instead, go up the stairs and jump on the switch in the room.

After that, exit the house and speak to the same toad again. Tell him his chests were okay and he’ll give you directions for the maze.

Go back in the house and go upstairs.

Jump on the bed to reveal a Hidden Treasure.

After that, save your game and exit town. Head for the Forest Maze.

Forest Maze

As soon as you enter the maze, we can find a Hidden Treasure.

Grab that and then head into the next area.

Follow the path and go down the tree stump.

There are enemies disguised as mushrooms on the ground here.

You may want to spend some time getting XP here. There is a boss fight coming up and the enemies are getting stronger.

Exit the underground section and you’ll be back outside. There will be arrows falling here, so avoid them.

Just to the left of the tree stump is another Hidden Treasure.

Continue through the area to next section.

Farm the enemies here if you need to and then take the tree stump closest to the entrance. There is a Hidden Treasure inside.

From there, exit and then go down the tree stump in the bottom middle to find the next Hidden Treasure.

Then, go down the farthest tree stump for another treasure. Go behind the sleeping wiggler and to find a Hidden Treasure.

After you get the Hidden Treasure, jump on the wiggler and he’ll toss you back up. The path out will now be open.

In the next area, follow the wiggler down the stump and then work through this underground section until you come to a trampoline to shoot you up.

Continue until you come to the maze.

You’ll see Geno ahead of you.

Don’t follow him just yet. Follow the directions below to find a hidden room.

You’ll come to an area with a tree stump. Go down it.

After you’re done collecting all of the chests, return to the room in the maze where the arrows are falling. Follow Geno through the maze and he’ll lead you to a save block.

There is a Hidden Treasure near the save block.

Afterwards, continue to the next section where you’ll meet Bowyer.

Bowyer

You’ll have Geno to help you get through this fight.

The main thing to know here is that Bowyer will lock out one of your buttons. If he locks your attacks, start using the attacks and vice versa.

Eventually, he’ll lock out all of your attacks. The game will then introduce a new attack mechanic that you can use which will finish Bowyer off.

Mallow’s HP Rain can come in handy during this fight. It’ll heal your whole party without having to use 3 individual mushrooms.

After the fight, you’ll be introduced to Geno and he’ll join your party. You will also have the second Star Piece.

From here, we are going to head to Pipe Vault for some items.

Pipe Vault

Enter the area and go down the pipe.

Follow the path until you reach two pipes. Jump over the first one with the Piranha Plant and go down the pipe behind it.

In the next area, go down the pipe that is second in line.

Get the coins and then stand in front of where the upper walkway begins. Jump up to reveal a platform you can use to get up.

There is a chest up here at the end of the walkway.

There are also two Hidden Treasure chests just in front of the chest that is out in the open.

Pick up the two Hidden Treasures and then use the springboard to exit.

Now, go down the next pipe and it’ll be time for a mini game.

This mini game will task you with jumping on as many goombas as you can within 30 seconds.

Each normal goomba is 1 point and the golden goomba is worth 3. Scoring 20 pointes will earn you a Flower Tab. Beating your score will earn you a frog coin.

When you’re done, use the springboard to exit.

Go down the last pipe.

Get through the area and go down the green pipe at the end.

Next, make your way to the green pipe by going over the plants.

In the next area, get on the yellow platform and ride it up to get a flower chest.

Get on the next yellow platform and get the coins out of the chest.

Go through the pipe at the end.

You’ll now be at Yo’ster Isle.

There is a Hidden Treasure to the left of the save block.

Get that and then exit the area.

There will be several yoshis in this next area.

Speak to Yoshi and he’ll let you ride him.

Speak to the red yoshi near the G in “GOAL” to get cookies.

With the cookies, you can challenge Boshi to a race.

You’ll need alternate pressing and . You’ll get a Yoshi cookie if you can manage to win.

With that done, that’s all there is to see for now here. So go ahead and leave. Head to Moleville.

Moleville

When you arrive, rest at the inn and stock up on any items that you may need from the shop.

When you’re ready, head north toward the mine and you’ll see Bowser.

Enter the mine after the scene.

Jump up on the mole and then jump up onto the next ledge.

Enter the door under the toad.

Jump on the springboard in the next room. Mario will knock himself out and your coins will be stolen from you by Croco.

Follow Croco down the hallway he ran through. Continue following him through the tunnels until you run into one of his minions hiding behind a box. You can fight him or wait here.

I stood next to the box in the path through the area and Croco ran into me. So, you can try waiting for him to run into you.

I stood in the location pictured below.

Otherwise, you can fight his minions as you come across them in the mines until you eventually corner Croco.

Continue damaging him during the fight until he gives you back your items.

After the fight, go through the rooms again until you reach the one with a mole waiting by some rubble. You’ll need to follow the arrow signs in order to reach it.

Speak to the mole and he’ll help you blow open the wall.

Go through the opening and keep going until you’re on the tracks. Head down the tracks until you’re hit by a Shy Guy.

Pick up the frog coin it drops and then climb up the crates to the top floor.

Jump up to get the Super Star from the chest and continue running through the rooms until you come to more crates you can climb.

Climb up the crates. get the chest and then go through the doorway.

Jump over the group of bob-ombs and get the chest next to the save block for a mushroom. Save your game and then grab the flower from the chest by jumping onto and then off of the double stack of crates.

Enter the door when you’re ready.

As you enter the next area, you’ll See Punchinello.

Go around the side of him and walk into him from behind to initiate the fight. If you get him head on, he’ll push you out of the room.

Punchinello

To begin this fight, stick to physical attacks.

When he throws out the mini Bob-ombs, use Mallow’s thunderbolt attack to clear them all out.

Repeat the same process for these. Physical attacks on Punchinello and thunderbolt on the Bob-ombs.

When he calls in the bigger bombs, ignore them and continue to attack Punchinello. If the bigger bombs attack, time your blocks to reduce damage.

When the battle is over, you’ll receive the third Star Piece.

After getting the Star Piece, go through the entrance ahead of you.

You’ll meet Dyna in the next room.

You’ll now be escaping the mines via the minecart mini game.

You’ll need to collect mushrooms and coins while riding the cart. Make sure to brake on the sharp turns to avoid going off the track.

After the cart ride, you’ll be back in town.

With that, Dyna and Mite will be returned home.

Exit the home to see a cutscene. Afterwards, you can explore the town a little more or return to the mine cart mini game to try again.

The shop will have a new toad that will sell different items.

Right now, all he has is a Lucky Jewel. This will give your party health or flowers during fights temporarily. You can return here later for different items.

Go to the house just outside of the mine entrance to buy fireworks for 500 coins. The fireworks are needed to in order to fight a hidden boss later in the game. So, if you don’t buy them now, make sure to come back at some point and pick them up.

If you bought the fireworks now, speak to the mole behind the crates and trade them for the Shiny Stone. The Shiny Stone is a key to a locked door later on in the game.

With all that out of the way, exit town and travel to Booster Pass.

Booster Pass

As soon as you enter the area, go to the back left corner to find a Hidden Treasure up on a big square ledge. Stand on the plant to reach it.

Head to ward the exit in the top right. Before exiting, there is a Hidden Treasure on the corner of the path that leads out.

Get the Hidden Treasure and then exit the area.

In the next area, go around to the right side.

If you enter the cutout in the wall on the right, there is a hidden merchant you can speak to.

He’ll give you Thought Peek.

While you’re in the same cutout as the hidden NPC, go the end of it and jump. There is a hidden switch that will kill all of the enemies above you.

With all that done, get up on the cliff and head for the exit through the stone structure.

Booster Tower

As soon as you enter the area, you’ll see Bowser.

After the scene, interact with the door. It’ll be locked, but Bowser will return to push it open.

Bowser will now join your party.

Enter the door and then head up the stairs on the left and into the open doorway on the top floor.

Climb up the stairs and then jump up to reveal a Hidden Treasure near where the Snifsters are spawning.

Go through the doorway where the Snifsters are spawning.

You’ll see a scene with Booster in a train in the next area.

After the scene, go to the right side to find a hidden flower tab in between a stack of big crates and the wall.

Take the exit near the hidden flower tab and climb up the stairs.

Take the first exit at the top and you’ll see a chest.

The chest has the Masher weapon for Mario in it.

In order to get it, you’re going to need to jump off the ledge and fall all the way down to the bottom. You need to land on a catapult in order to be shot all the way back up.

Once you’re back at the top, go through the second entrance this time and jump on the switch. This is something that’ll come in handy later.

Take the exit.

Go behind the curtains for quick change if you’d like and then continue when ready.

Climb all the way up and save at the eventual save block.

Booster Tower Painting Puzzle

There will be a puzzle in the next room involving the paintings on the wall.

Interact with the paintings in the numerical order pictured below.

Upon completing the puzzle, you’ll be given the Elder Key.

Open the door to the left of the paintings and enter the room to find a new weapon (Chain Chomp) for Bowser.

Return to the painting hallway and take the exit at the end of the paintings.

Get the mushroom from the chest on the right side of the top floor and then jump on the catapult to be shot all the way up.

Before climbing up, jump up the bottom left corner to reveal another Hidden Treasure.

Climb up.

Before going up the steps at the top left, go into the cutout and jump up to find a frog coin.

Afterwards, continue climbing up and enter the doorway.

The next room is sort of a big puzzle.

Stepping on the wrong tile will trigger a battle. You can grind some experience here if needed. You’ll be able to double your EXP in this room after battles as well.

Try to follow the tiles with coins and collect everything in this room. The coins, frog coins and key.

After you get the key, open the locked door in the room and you can find the Zoom Shoes.

Take the exit and climb up the stairs to the next room.

As soon as you step into the next room, Booster will start throwing bob-ombs at you, so quickly take the exit in the bottom of the screen.

Climb the next stairs and save at the next save block.

Climb up the yellow steps and get the chest to find a frog coin.

Get back on the yellow platform and then jump on top of the chest you just opened. Jump up to find another Hidden Treasure.

From there, go to the lowest yellow platform to find another Hidden Treasure.

After collecting all of that, it’s time to exit the room.

You’ll find Peach, but will be unable to get to her.

After that scene, you’ll have to hide in the curtains.

When Booster’s minions go to open the curtain, run and hide behind the one that isn’t opened.

If you can make it through without being spotted, you’ll be given the Booster Charm. If you’re spotted, you’ll have to fight Booster.

When all of the curtains are opened, go and jump up to knock down the Mario doll.

Save and heal up if you need to and then go out where Peach was and it’ll be time for a boss fight.

If you got Booster’s Charm, go ahead and equip it for this fight.

Knife Guy / Grate Guy

For this fight, you’re going to want to make sure you have Bowser in your party equipped with the Chain Chomp we picked up earlier. Use Geno as well.

All of your physical attacks will be effective against them. Focus all your attacks on Knife Guy until he goes down and then go after Grate Guy.

After the fight, you’ll jump down from the tower and will need chase Booster up the hill.

All you have to do here is run up the hill jumping over and avoiding any obstacles that get in your way. Try to get as close to Peach as you can and she’ll give you flowers.

If you land on an enemy or barrel, you’ll sprint forward.

At the top, you’ll be at Marrymore.

Before heading into Marrymore, exit from where you just entered and head back to Booster Pass.

Once there, back track to the mine entrance. This is where we opened a Hidden Treasure earlier.

Enter the mine and cross the walkway all the way over to the end and opened the three chests. These are a result of stepping on the switch in the tower earlier.

With all of that collected, return to Marrymore.

Marrymore

As you enter, you can find a group of toads in town. Speak with them to progress the story.

Afterwards, go to the inn.

Go up the stairs and enter the doors on the right.

Jump up onto the bookshelf in the left corner to reveal a Hidden Treasure.

Buy any gear you may want or need and save your game.

When you’re ready, head to the church from the scene earlier.

Go around to the right side of the church and enter through a hidden door.

Continue through the church until a Snifster finds you.

After the conversation, he’ll ask you for help breaking down the door.

Run into the door at the same time that he hits it to open it.

The next door will be locked, but Bowser will help you open it.

In the next room, you’ll need to quickly interact with each of the Snifsters in order to get Peach’s items back. Her crown is on Booster’s head. Jump on him to get it.

After you have everything, speak to Booster.

After the conversation, it’ll be time for a boss battle.

Bundt

During the fight, focus your attacks on the cake. Just keep attacking it until Booster appears.

After the fight, Peach will join your party. Exit the church and Marrymore. You’ll be automatically taken back to Mushroom Kingdom.

Go to the castle throne room.

A long scene will play. After its all over, exit the castle. Peach will re-join your party and it’ll be time to head for Tadpole Pond.

Go to Tadpole Pond and speak to the Frog Sage.

He’ll direct you to your next destination, Star Hill.

Star Hill

As you enter, interact with the star plant next to the second door to open it.

Interact with all five plants in order to unlock the door.

Go through the door and activate the star plants again.

Go through the next door and go to the north side of the room to find the Star Piece.

After collecting it, activate the plants again and then head through the door and go to Seaside Town.

Seaside Town

As soon as you get to town, enter the door to the left of the shop.

Go inside and buy 3 Fire Bombs. If you don’t have enough, make sure to come back later. We’re going to need them eventually, so hold on to them.

From there, do any more shopping or resting that you may need and then head to the house in the top left corner of the area.

Go inside and speak to Elder to advance the story.

After speaking with him, go upstairs and speak to the frog. He will have a shop you where you can spend frog coins.

He does off the Exp. Booster. This will double your Exp. earned when equipped. If you have enough, it is recommended to buy it.

When you’re done in Seaside Town, exit it and travel to Sea.

Sea

As soon as you land, follow the path into the next room and speak to the NPC to buy some items if you’d like.

Exit through the bottom right.

Drop down and get the Super Star chest. Take out as many enemies as you can with it.

Enter the next area and then take the bottom left exit.

Run along the water and jump into the whirlpool.

Go through cave underwater and follow the path until you come up to an area with a chest.

Get the chest, drop down and exit left.

Jump into the next whirlpool.

Continue to the ship and ride down the pipe.

Sunken Ship

When you begin, go through the door on the right to find a save block.

Save and then go back and take the other door this time.

Continue through the small areas until you reach a room with a stack of crates and rats going up and down the stairs.

Go behind the stack of crates to find a flower.

Go down the stairs and get the chest by standing on the tall stack of crates.

Exit that room and you’ll now be in a long room with a lot of guarded doors. Each door leads to a puzzle, so let’s start at the beginning.

Room #1

You need to get the paratroopa to knock the ball onto the switch. If you miss, exit the room and then re-enter it to try again.

It’ll follow you around, so get behind the stack and then quickly run to the front as it approaches the ball.

Room #2

For this, you need jump up and hit the boxes to stop the springboards. You need to bounce the ball onto the switch.

You can see the solution pictured below.

Room #3

This room is a maze. It’s hard to describe since you can’t see, but you can feel your way through it. I’ll try my best below.

Skip this room if you can’t find your way through.

Exit Room #3 and take the exit on the left.

Drop down and get the chest.

Then, jump over the crates and speak to the NPC to see what he has for sale.

Afterwards, go through the bottom floor door and it’ll be time for more puzzles.

Room #4

In this room, you’re going to have follow the moving coin. You need to collect every coin it leaves. After you’ve collected them all, you need to collect the moving coin last. You need to be quick as the coins will disappear.

Room #5

Jump up and hit the block on the far left.

Then, quickly get under the next block by standing on its shadow. Jump up to hit the cannon ball so that it shoots up and hits the next box. Repeat that all the wat down the line. Remember, position yourself on the box’s shadow before jumping at the cannonball.

Room #6

Jump up on the stack of barrels and one will fall down. Jump on it to move it. Move it onto one of the switches and then stand on the other one.

You can save you game in here as well.

Enter the door in the puzzle room and then jump up into each box and spell the password, “PEARLS.” When you have, interact with the horn in the room.

King Calamari

First, take Geno and Bowser with you.

To start the fight, use Geno Boost on Bowser and then have Bowser use a fire bomb. This will take out all of the tentacles at once.

You can use another fire bomb on the second wave of tentacles and then finish them off with physical attacks.

Now that you’re to the body, use a fire bomb to clear the tentacles and focus your physical attacks on the body.

After the fight, go through door ahead of you.

Jump onto the crates in the next room and then jump up. Go through the top floor door.

Jump over the bullets and take the top floor exit. If you’re knocked down, climb back up and try again.

Once through, go down the stairs. Go through the door and then get on the stack of crates in the back corner.

Jump over from the crates and get the two chests.

Get down and then go through the next door.

There will be another Mario in the next room. Get the bottom middle of the area and jump to reveal a crate above.

Get under the Hidden Treasure and get on the other Mario’s head.

Jump and then jump again while in the air to reach it.

It can be tricky landing on the other Mario’s head, but just keep trying and it’ll happen.

From there, exit the room. Take the next exit and then go behind the big wall of crates to find a hidden door. Go in it and get the chest.

After that, go down the stairs to save your game. You can also get the chest in here as well.

Jump from the stairs over the wall of crates and hit the chest.

This will actually be fight against Whuhoh.

Win the fight to earn the Safety Badge.

Go through the doors until you come to another whirlpool. Go to it and get the bottom of the water.

Back track a bit to get the frog coins.

After you get those, continue forward. Keep going until you come to a bigger room with a stack of barrels in the top left corner.

Go along the left wall and go behind the stack of barrels to enter a somewhat hidden door.

A Safety Ring can be found in a chest through that door.

Exit that room and then jump onto the stack of barrels in the top right corner.

Keep jumping up and you’ll climb out of the water. Jump back in the water and you can swim over to a frog coin.

Go through the door that was ahead of you when you climbed out of the water.

You’ll run into some pirates in the next room.

Beat the pirates, get the chest and then climb the stairs.

Beat the pirates at the top of the stairs and then enter the door.

Jonathan Jones

Bring Bowser with you.

Use physical attacks on Jones and use Bowser’s Terrorize special. This will damage multiple enemies in a single hit.

Repeat that until it’s Jones and Mario fighting. Just keep attacking him with physical attacks until it’s over.

After the fight, you’ll have earned the next Star Piece.

Exit the ship and travel back to Seaside Town.

Seaside Town

Once you get back, you’ll be speaking with the toads. Although, something won’t be quite right.

When asked to hand over the Star Piece, do it.

Chase after them by going left and taking the exit.

When they try to swim away, they’ll be stopped and it’ll be time for a boss battle.

Speardovich

Speardovich has some heavy attacks, so you’re going to want to have either Peach or Mallow with you in battle. Use their healing abilities when party HP gets low.

Continue attacking him while using Mallow or Peach as support if needed.

After the fight, you’ll be given the Star Piece back.

Pick up the key after the fight.

Return to Seaside Town and use the key on a locked room where the toads were being held.

If you gave up the Star right away, you’ll be rewarded with a Flower Box in here.

With that taken care of, you can explore and shop here now that it’s returned to normal.

When you’re ready to continue, head back to Elder’s house and speak with him.

He’ll tell you about Land’s End. When the conversation is over and you’re ready to leave, exit town and head for Land’s End.

Land’s End

As soon as you enter, save your game if needed and then jump in the cannon.

When it faces right, jump out of it and land on the yellow platform.

When the platform is at its height, run and jump off to the north and you should hit a Hidden Treasure chest.

Exit the area, use the next cannon to make it up the cliff.

If you land in the square hole, enemies will jump out.

Stand just in front of that square hole and jump up to reveal a hidden yellow platform.

Get back in the cannon and fire yourself to the right in order to land on the yellow platform.

When you land on it, don’t move. The platform will move you under the chest. Jump up and get it when under it.

After that, jump to the cliff next to the chest you just opened and go to the left corner of the cliff and jump to reveal Hidden Treasure.

From there, exit and continue on. Keep going until you reach the next save block.

Go to the right side of the area and jump on the last flower and then jump to the middle flower to reveal a Hidden Treasure.

With that collected, use the spinning flower to jump up to the ledge.

Use each flower to continue to the exit. Drop down at the sign with the arrow pointing down.

At the bottom will be an NPC. Speak to him and you can accept a challenge of making it across the bridge.

When you’re ready to move on, drop down the ground below and pick up the bag before entering the cave.

Jump on the crates in the next area to reach a frog coin chest.

After passing the K-9 enemy, go to the top corner and jump up to reveal a Hidden Treasure.

If you continue forward through the next area, there will be a pipe in the end. Going down the pipe will bring you back to the sewers.

When you get out of the pipe, jump on the pillars to the chest. The chest has Cricket Jam in it that we can return to Frog Sage.

When that’s all done, return to the area with the bridge mini game. The one above the cave we entered. You can use the pipe next to the Cricket Jam to return to the cave.

Now, cross the bridge.

Drop down and you’ll be in a desert area.

Speak to the mouse and he’ll tell you to look for a whirl with ant.

The whirlpools in this area are not the ones we need so search the next areas for the right one.

When you see the ant, jump on it and fight it. After you beat it, drop down the the whirlpool the ant was in. Continue doing that until you’re underground. The whirlpools will get faster and switch positions, so it can get tricky.

When you’ve made it underground, save if you need and then drop down to get the chest.

The chest will have a Super Star in it. Get the star and run through the next few sections until you reach the square hole in the ground.

At the bottom, go behind the stack of crates and speak to the NPC. He’ll sell you another Super Star for 400 coins.

When you’re ready, head into the open doorway to enter Belome Temple.

Belome Temple

The NPC at the entrance will take you back to Land’s End. We don’t need that yet, so ignore that.

The next room has a fortune teller in it. Hit the three statues to get your fortune.

Afterwards, continue through the next areas until you go down a pipe. Go down, beat the enemies and then enter through the gate.

There will be a chest above you. Use the walls and jump up onto that chest and jump again to reveal a Hidden Treasure.

Get that and then go down the stairs. Get in the corner next to the stairs and jump again to reveal a second Hidden Treasure in the area.

Exit the area to the right and jump up to hit the statue to drop a scroll.

If the scroll doesn’t say, “Mmm, I’m so hungry!” leave the room and re-enter to try again.

When it does say that, get on the yellow platform.

Ride it down and then get off. Go down the pipe and it’ll be time to fight Belome again.

Belome

The Safety Ring will be useful here as Belome will put your whole party to sleep.

He’ll “eat” a party member and clone them, so you can use AOE special attacks to damage both enemies.

After the fight, jump on the switch and enter the gate.

Speak to the mouse again and then go down the pipe.

Monstro Town

Enter the first door and speak to Monstermama inside.

He’ll tell you to go upstairs for a star. Go up and and then come back down to speak with Monstermama again.

The paratroopas will go to Land’s End to help you up, but don’t go there just yet.

Exit the room and then enter the second door.

The K-9 will give you items if you’ve Super Jumped 30 and 100 times in a row. This means you’ve jumped that many times on a single enemy in a battle with Mario’s special.

Speak to Thwomp repeatedly and he’ll keep hitting the ground.

Keep talking to Thwomp until the key on the above ledge outside falls down. Pick up the Temple Key.

The third door has an optional boss behind it. You can use the Shiny Stone to open it. Don’t fight this boss just yet. Come back here after you’ve finished the main game as this boss is very tough.

If you don’t have the Shiny Stone, you can trade fireworks for it with a mole in Moleville.

The fourth door is a shop run by Goomhilde. Do not buy the mushrooms from the Triplets.

The fifth door has an empty bed in it. If you interact with the mushroom in the room and sleep in the bed, you’ll begin a side quest called, Three Musty Fears. Finishing it will earn you a Ghost Medal that doubles defense during battle.

The quest will have you finding three flags.

  • Greaper’s Flag – This is found in Rose Town behind the welcome sign.
  • Dry Bones’ Flag – This is found under Mario’s bed at Mario’s Pad.
  • Boo’s Flag – This is found at Yo’ster’s Isle between the “O” and “A” in “GOAL.”

Return to the bed in Monstro Town and get back in bed to complete the quest.

The door up the stairs is a dojo where you can take part in different battles including an optional boss fight against Jinx. This is something you may want to wait a bit to do as you’ll likely need to be stronger. You can try to face him now or come back as you near the end of the game or after you’ve beaten the game.

The last door as a Hidden Treasure in it.

With all of that taken care of, return to Belome Temple by jumping on the springboard on the left side of town where we first entered.

Land’s End

Backtrack to the statue that dropped the scroll earlier. This was before the most recent fight against Belome.

Exit left and then re-enter to reset the statue. Hit it until the note says, “Sorry. I’m not accepting visitors past my bedtime.”

When it does, go down the yellow platform once again.

At the bottom, give Belome the key. He’ll move out of the way and allow you to collect all of the items.

With all of that collected, it’ll be time to backtrack to Land’s End.

You can speak with the NPC on the springboard and pay 100 coins for a shortcut.

Exit via the top left.

In the next section, you’ll need to climb up the paratroopas.

You’ll earn a Troopa Medal if you can do it in less than 11 seconds. This will give you a speed buff as well double your attacks.

At the top, go through the exit.

Bean Valley

From the start, take the the pipe on the right.

Exit the pipe and then jump up in the bottom left corner to find a Hidden Treasure.

Afterwards, enter the other pipe.

Take the bottom right pipe to find a chest with a flower.

Go back through the pipe and then take the left exit.

Enter the bottom right pipe and hit the chest to play the slot machine mini game.

After, go down just a few steps and jump to reveal a Hidden Treasure.

Go back up and then take the top right pipe to find a chest that leads to an optional fight against Pleaseno.

Use Mario’s jump special attacks and either Mallow or Peach for HP support.

After the fight, go over to the middle right side and jump up to reveal a Hidden Treasure.

Go up the stairs and take the springboard on the top floor.

You’ll come out next to a chest.

Get the chest and then go back down the pipe. Use the original springboard on the bottom floor to exit.

The top left pipe has another slot machine chest.

The middle left pipe has another slot machine chest.

The top right pipe has a chomp chomp to fight

When you’re ready, save at the block and exit the area.

Jump on the piranha plant to begin the battle against Megasmilax.

After the battle, interact with the note left behind and pick up the seed. This will be needed for a side quest later.

Then, go down the pipe.

In the next area, hit the block and a beanstalk will grow out of it. Climb it up.

Climb up the blue beanstalk and get the frog coin. Climb up afterwards.

At the top, get the flower chest.

Climb the red beanstalk to find a frog coin at the top.

Jump over and climb the next blue beanstalk.

Climb the yellow beanstalk on the left first.

At the top, climb the red beanstalk and jump to the yellow platform. Ride that up to get a frog coin.

Jump to the yellow beanstalk in the middle and jump up to reveal another yellow platform.

Use it to reach the green beanstalk on the left. Climb all the way up and you’ll find two chests. These have a frog coin and Defense Scarf in them.

Go down the hole in the clouds near the chests and you’ll drop to another platform with two more chests. These both have flowers in them.

Drop down the next hole and you’ll land near a springboard. This will shoot you up to the top near the exit.

The springboard on the right will take you to the world map and the one on the left will take you to Nimbus Land.

Nimbus Land

A scene will play as soon as you enter. After, go to the shop nearby.

Jump up on to the boxes in the back and jump again to find another Hidden Treasure.

Buy anything you need from the shop and then exit.

Go to the house in the top left.

Speak to Garro and interact with the gold Mallow statue inside to advance the story.

Speak to Garro again after and he’ll sneak you in to the Castle.

Nimbus Castle

After you regain control, go through the door.

When the door next to the save block opens, Mario will run back to the statue location.

Dodo will come in to polish the statues. You’ll need to dodge his peck by jumping.

Whether you get caught or not, exit the room after and then take the door on top left.

The chest in this room has a flower in it. You can jump down and get it if you’d like, but you’ll need to follow the paths back around to get back to this room.

Take the top floor exit.

The chest in this next room has another flower in it.

Take the bottom right exit.

The next chest is a flower.

Exit that room back to the area with three doors and take the top door.

Follow this path through a door and down some stairs. Go through the little opening at the bottom near the exit. Go out onto an invisible path and jump up to find a Hidden Treasure.

Jump up just before exiting to find another Hidden Treasure.

Go through the exit and speak to the NPC in the top left corner and you’ll be given a Castle Key 1.

Speak to the NPC in blue to get a Flower Jar.

After that, return to the room with the three doors and fight the big troopa enemy guarding the middle door.

Go through the doors and it’ll be time for a boss fight against Birdo.

After the fight, another key will drop. Pick it up and then exit through the back.

Fight the pinwheel enemy so that it doesn’t knock you off the ledge.

Jump onto the chest in the room and jump again to find another Hidden Treasure.

Take the top exit and then go straight through the next room. The door with the note is locked.

Fight the big troopa in the next room. Enter the door afterwards.

Go through the door at the top and save your game if needed.

Continue until you see a chest above you. Get underneath it and jump to reveal a platform.

This box has a Super Star in it. Grab it and quickly leave this room. Keep running and you should see Dodo. You can actually defeat him with the star to avoid having to fight him right now.

If you fail, you can either fight him or reload your save and try again with the star.

Go through the door and Mario will fall down.

Use the springboard to jump back up. Go back to Nimbus Land if you’re ready for a fight or go to a different town and stock up on any items you may need before returning.

When you’re ready, return to Nimbus Land.

Valentina and Dodo

When the fight begins, Dodo will take who ever is in the middle slot of your party away for a separate battle.

You should have Peach in your party for HP support here. Valentina can do heavy damage.

You can also make use of Geno’s Boost special to raise attack and defense.

After the fight, a key will drop down. Mallow will pick it up and then take you inside to meet his parents.

After the scene, you can go in the door behind Mallow’s parents. Follow the path to a box we opened earlier. We can open it again.

Go into the room that was locked earlier. It had the note on it. Speak to the nimbus near the birdcage and he’ll give you a flower jar.

Exit that room and go through the bottom door.

When you come to the room with three doors, go to the birdcage up in the top corner and jump up next to it to find a Hidden Treasure.

After exiting the castle, go to the top right corner and enter the house.

Inside, you’ll find Croco. He’ll drop the Echo Signal Ring when tries to run out.

Exit the house and then walk off of the clouds. There is an invisible path that leads to Beezo.

Speak to him and he’ll give you fertilizer.

Before progressing the story, we’re gonna go get the Lazy Shell.

Travel to Rose Town and take the exit at the back of town to find the gardener.

Go in and speak to him. Give the seed and fertilizer. After the beanstalk grows, climb it all the way up to the top.

You’ll find two chests. Open them both. You’ll get two items named Lazy Shell. One is a weapon for Mario and the other is armor. The Lazy Shell armor is best used with Peach. It’ll really turn her into a support powerhouse.

With that done, return to Nimbus Land.

Drop down the top hole above the world map springboard.

Speak to the two nimbus guards below to enter the doorway. Drop off the right side near the hot spring and you’ll be at Barrel Volcano.

Barrel Volcano

Before beginning this portion, you’re going to want to have Mallow in your party for the advantage matchups.

His Snowy special is super effective on the enemies here.

Follow the path and take the exit on the right that requires you to jump across stones in the lava.

There are two chests in here. They both have flowers in them.

Get those and then back track.

Jump up the rock stairs following the signs.

The first chest you come to has a flower in it. The next chest close by has a coins.

Go through the exit and you’ll come to a Super Star chest. Activate it and run through the area.

Run to the next area and quickly get up the steps to take out the stompillar here with the star so that you don’t have to fight it.

Keep going until you see a frog coin in the lava. You can jump out and grab that if you’d like.

In the next section, you’ll have to jump from stone to stone while avoiding the enemies.

From the entrance to the next area, you can jump into the lava and it’ll bounce you up the frog coin above the door. If it doesn’t work, go through the door and then re-enter the room to try again.

In the next area, jump on to the floating platforms to get the frog coins and then continue on.

You’ll come to a room with a save block and two chests. The two chests have a flower and frog coin. Save your game if needed and then continue.

Go through the door and fight the stumpet. it is weak to Mallow’s snowy special.

The next few rooms are straightforward. You’ll have to fight a stompillar, but can be easily dealt with by using Mallow again.

Keep going until you run into a chest with coins and an NPC.

He will be running a shop and inn down here. So rest up and buy what you need while here.

Exit the shop and save if you need to. It’s time for a boss fight next.

Czar Dragon

There are two phases to this fight.

During the first phase, use physical attacks for two of your party members and spam Mallow’s snowy special.

For the second phase, it’ll no longer be weak to snowy. Instead, it’ll be weak to electric attacks. Something Mallow has as well.

After the fight, continue forward. Your party will be automatically healed. Continue following the path to the next boss fight.

Axem Rangers

First up, take out the pink ranger. She heals the rangers, so its better to get her out quickly.

  • Green is weak to Snowy
  • Yellow is weak to Jump attacks
  • Red is weak to Snowy
  • Black is weak to Electricity
  • Physical attacks on Pink

When red jumps onto the machine’s head, fully restore your party’s health. A heavy attack is coming. Afterward, continue attacking with physical attacks until it is over.

After the battle, you will have acquired the sixth Star Piece.

When back at the world map, return to Nimbus Land.

Go to the castle and speak with Mallow’s parents.

After the conversation, it’ll be time to head for seventh and final Star Piece. Buy anything you may need and then head to Bowser’s Keep.

Leave Nimbus Land by taking the exit on the left side of town.

Bowser’s Keep

You’re going to want to have Bowser in your party for this section. Some enemies won’t battle you with him in your party.

To begin, head through the next several areas until you come to a dark room.

Go through the dark room until you come to a statue. Go behind that statue to find a mushroom chest.

From the previous chest, head the opposite direction and enter the door.

You’ll see Croco standing ahead of you and a save block. Before approaching him, go to the left corner of this room to find a hidden exit.

This will lead to a small area with two chests. A mushroom chest and coins for the other.

Exit that hidden room and then buy whatever you may need from Croco and then save your game.

Go through the door and you’ll come to a room with six doors ahead of you.

What’s behind each door is randomized. There are two action rooms, two puzzle rooms and two combat rooms.

You’ll need to pass four of the six in order to progress.

Pick any door and see what you get on the other side. The rewards are very strong weapons for your party.

Combat Room 1

You’re going to have to go down three hallways fighting through enemies. The final bosses will be Bahamutt and Comeon.

The reward for beating this room is the Star Gun.

Combat Room 2

This is just like Combat Room 1. You just need to beat every enemy down three hallways. This one does not end in a boss fight.

The reward is the Drill Claw.

Puzzle Room 1

To begin this room, you and Dr. Topper will be taking coins from the chest above. Whoever collects the last coin losses the game.

In the next room, you’re going to have to get all of the switches down in order to continue through. You can see what buttons to press pictured below.

The third room contains Ball Solitaire. You’re going to need to kick the balls over one another to make them disappear until there is only one left.

You’ll get the Rock Candy as a reward for completing this room.

Puzzle Room 2

Room 1:

All you have to do here is answer Dr. Topper’s questions correctly.

You only have a few seconds to answer correctly, but the questions will repeat so, this is really a trial and error section. The questions will be about what has happened in the game leading up to this point.

Room 2:

The next room will have you counting barrels quickly. The number for both is random, but this can be done easily.

The first stack will always have seven barrels on the bottom. So, you only have to count the second and third row and then add seven.

The second stack will always have 40 barrels in the first, second and third stacks. So all you have to do here is count the top stack and add 40 to it. There are 6 barrels on the top stack pictured below, so the total for that is 46.

Room 3:

The final room will have you figuring out who came in what place.

The answers for who won are always the same, but the character who says it will change. Just put the characters in order based on the answers. Below is the correct order.

The reward for this is a Rock Candy.

Action Room 1

There will be enemies ahead that are walking on an invisible path in here. Every time you jump, the path will flash showing you where to go. Follow the path and make it to the other side.

The next room will have you jumping from platform to platform in order to reach the other side.

The final room will be a game of Donkey Kong. Dodge the barrels and make it to the top in order to win.

The reward for this room is the Super Slap.

Action Room 2

For the first room, you’re going to need to platform over to the end. If you ride the final stone up, you can jump on to the top platform and find a chest.

In the second room, you’ll have to get on the ball and roll through the area while avoiding the bombs. Your controllers will be inverted during this section.

The third room will have you moving platforms over to the end. When you stand on one, the other will move. Jump over and the other will then move. Make your way through the room.

You’ll get the Sonic Cymbals as a reward for completing this room.

After you’ve completed four, you’ll be transported to a different area in order to continue. It’ll also be time for a boss fight against Wizakoopa.

Wizakoopa

For this fight, just stick to physical attacks.

Eventually, Wizakoopa will summon a bigger enemy. Just keep attacking that and it should go down fairly quickly. Afterwards, the fight is almost over.

After the fight, Wizakoopa will heal your party and summon chest with coins in it for you.

Go through the door on the left and you’ll find Croco’s shop again. Stock up on whatever you may need here before continuing.

When you’re ready, go through the door on the right.

You won’t be able to move when the Thwomps hit the ground so make sure you’re out of the way of the next one when the previous crashes down.

Enter the next room and it’ll be time for another boss fight.

Boomer

When Boomer is colored red, it is vulnerable to special attacks.

When Boomer is colored blue, it is vulnerable to physical attacks.

Boomer’s Shaker attack can one hit a party member, but it can be blocked. So be ready to block when you see that attack coming.

After the fight, your party will be healed and it’ll be time for yet another boss fight.

Exor

There are multiple targets to attack. The hilt of the sword is Exor, but you won’t be able to attack that until you have have damaged one of his eyes or mouth first. A message will pop up saying Exor’s protection is gone. After that, you can then deal damage to Exor.

For this fight, Peach’s Mute attack is effective here. It’ll reduce the amount of magic attacks that Exor can use. These hit pretty hard, so shutting them down will be very helpful here. Not only that, but her other healing abilities will come in handy during this fight as well.

When Exor is vulnerable to attack, focus all of your attacks on him.

Eventually, Exor’s protection will return and you’ll need to damage the other parts again. You’ll need to repeat that until the fight is over.

After the fight, you’ll be automatically transported to the final area.

Just a quick note. If you wanted to return to Bowser’s Keep and complete the other challenge rooms, you can do that.

Weapon World

Go until you come to a screw. Stand on it and jump to move it forward. You’ll need to inch forward after each jump so that you do not fall.

Keep going until you come to an area with a green switch. Jump on it.

In the next room, you can find a save block as well as a Hidden Treasure. Jump up in the left corner next to the save block.

You can get the Ultra Hammer from the chest in the next room, but the Lazy Shell is still the stronger weapon.

Use the springboard to jump up the screw and continue forward.

It’ll be time for a boss fight.

Count Down

There will be three targets on this boss. First, you’re going to want to focus your attacks on Count Down.

Once that part is out of the way, focus on the bells.

After the fight, use the springboard to continue.

The next section is tricky. There will be robot versions of bosses you’ve beaten. If you run into them, you’ll need to fight them again.

Continue through the next several areas. You’re going to need to run against moving conveyor belts. Get the chests if you’d like, otherwise just get through the areas as carefully as can to avoid re-doing boss fights.

One of the chests has a Royal Syrup and the other has a Mushroom.

When you have to climb up the stack of conveyor belts, wait for the enemy to come down. As soon as he passes, quickly get up the belts.

Jump over the rangers and then use the same method as earlier to get up the next belt.

There will be a brick in the middle of the next area. You need to get on it and fight at least one of the enemies that lands on it.

After the fight, you can take the top exit to a small room with two chests.

Drop down the square hole and it’ll be time for another boss fight.

Cloaker and Domino

To begin, focus on getting Domino out first. When one of them goes down, the other spawns a different monster to help them.

So the easier route is to take Domino out first and then deal with Cloaker and Bad Adder.

Use special attacks on Bad Adder. The splash damage may take out Cloaker as you use your magic on Bad Adder.

After the fight, head through the top exit and you’ll be in the Factory.

Factory

The factory is pretty straight forward.

Just keep moving straight through the areas battling the mini bosses along the way.

As you move through the areas, Toad will appear offering items for sale. Make sure to stock up on whatever you may need as we are approaching the final boss fights.

When you reach the end, you’ll have to fight Gunyolk.

Gunyolk

Use Peach’s Mute special and focus your other physical attacks on focus them on Gunyolk. This fight is not a very difficult one.

After the fight, get on the switch and you’ll be taken down to fight Smithy.

Smithy

For this fight, take Peach with you. If you haven’t already, equip the Lazy Shell armor to Peach. You’re going to need to rely on her special abilities to heal and revive your team.

Smithy’s attacks hit every party member, so you’re going to be needed health often.

Smithy is resistant to magic attacks, so use your physical attacks. Stick with physical attacks so that your flower points are saved for Peach to use.

Just keep attacking Smithy until the second phase begins.

During the second phase, Smithy will have multiple attack points. If you focus your attacks on his body, he’ll temporarily be immobile. This will prevent him from using some of his attacks for a bit.

Smithy will change his head multiple times throughout this fight. Each of the heads has their own HP bar as well.

So, just keep attacking while using Peach to heal and revive. Smithy does a lot of damage, so you’ll likely be using Peach’s abilities almost every turn.

After the fight, you will acquire the seventh and final Star Piece! And with that, you will have completed the Super Mario RPG!

With the story completed, you can now challenge the bosses to a rematch as well as fight against two optional bosses.

For Culex, you can use the same strategy that you used against Smithy. Culex has a lot of HP and he’ll have elemental crystals that attack as well.

However, with Peach + Lazy Shell armor, you can actually outlast Culex. He and his crystals will hit you hard, but you can simply revive and heal with Peach over and over until Culex and his crystals are out of FP. Once that happens, he will no longer be able to attack. You can then just keep attacking until he is defeated.
