Welcome to the Indigo Disk walkthrough! This is the latest piece of downloadable content for Pokemon: Scarlet / Violet.

This guide will walk you through the entire main story of the Indigo Disk.

You’ll be taking on a new set of Elite Four at the Blueberry Academy as well as catching the new Pokemon added to the game. You’ll automatically receive a phone call when booting up the game to initiate the DLC.

The following Pokemon are version exclusives:

If you don’t have a partner to trade with, you can enter certain codes when searching for a trade partner in order to get what you’re looking for. It’s not a perfect system, but it is very effective.

If the other player is not offering the correct Pokemon, just back out and search again.

The Pokemon that require trades are listed below with their codes. Credit for this trade method goes to Austin John Plays on Twitter.

Version Exclusives

As of the time of launch, you can only catch one of each of the new Paradox Pokemon in your version. These are static encounters. So, if you’re gonna trade for the opposite version, just know that you will need to trade and then trade back if you want to keep your version’s Paradox Pokemon.

Trade Evolutions

All of the evolution items that Pokemon need to hold in trades can be bought from the Blueberry Academy School Store for 250 BP each.

There are also legendary Pokemon to be caught in the Indigo Disk, but these work a little different than usual. You can catch legendries by doing Blueberry Quests (BBQs). The difference here is that if you’re doing them solo, you can only catch certain ones in your game. If you do them in Group BBQs, you will be able to catch them all in your version. So, if doing solo BBQs, there are version exclusive legendries. If doing Group BBQs, all legendries will be available to you no matter what version you have.

Group BBQs can be completed in the Union Circle.

Walkthrough Contents:

Let’s Begin!

When loading into your game, you’ll receive a phone call from Clavell.

After the call, go to Naranja Academy and speak with Director Cyrano inside.

Speak with Cyrano after the cutscene and he’ll take you to Blueberry Academy which will begin the DLC. Exhaust his dialogue options before continuing if you’d like.

During the cutscene, you’ll meet Lacey.

Afterwards, head for the entrance to the new academy.

There will be another cutscene and then it’ll be time for a battle against Lacey.

After the battle, you’ll be given a new outfit as well as the Indigo Style Card.

Once you regain control, head to the entrance gate and select your only destination, Terarium.

Here, you’ll be introduced to the new area as a whole.

Lacey will ask which biome you’d like to hear about first. Select whichever one you’d like.

During this conversation, Cyrano will update your Pokedex by adding the Blueberry Pokedex to it. You will also hear an accountment to head to the Coastal Biome.

Coastal Biome Class

After the cutscene, head for the Coastal Biome to attend a class.

Train your team and/or catch any of the newly added Pokemon along your way there.

Once there, walk toward Lacey at the group.

After the cutscene, you’ll need to catch an Alolan Pokemon in order to advance the story.

If you already have an Alolan Pokemon, you can use that as well. If not, there are Alolan Pokemon around the class location.

Interact with the professor and select the Alolan Pokemon to show him.

After the class, Lacey will explain Blueberry Quests to you.

After that, you’ll receive a call from Carmine.

You’ll need to meet her at the Central Plaza which is found in the center of the map.

Blueberry League

You can use your mount to jump onto the block walls. From there, you can head straight across the wall to the center.

Once there, head up the battle area and speak with Carmine.

After the cutscene, it’ll be time for a battle against her.

After the battle, Kieran will show up and a cutscene will ensue.

You’ll also be introduced to Drayton.

He’ll show you the League Club. Here, you’ll be introduced to Blueberry Elite Four and The Support Board. You’ll be able to turn in BP from Blueberry Quests at the the Support Board.

Drayton will get you some BP to use as a tutorial. Go ahead and interact with it and donate some BP to Mitch and you’ll be given new options for how you throw Poke Balls.

After that, Drayton will give you the Catching Charm. This will increase your chances of getting a critical catch.

Finally, he will also give you the League Club Uniform.

With all of that done, exit through the doors and go to your Dorm Room.

There will be another cutscene with Carmine in your Dorm Room.

Afterwards, exit your room and go to the Cafeteria to meet with Drayton. He’s sitting at the table on the left.

Join the Blueberry League

After the cutscene with Drayton in the Cafeteria, exit and go to the Entrance. Once there, speak to the front desk. Drayton will be standing next to it.

After the cutscene, you’ll be a part of the BB League. You’ll now be able to challenge the Elite Four.

You’ll also need to earn BP in order to face them. So, press Right on the D-Pad in order to see your available quests.

Crispin

We’ll be taking on Crispin first as he is the weakest of the Elite Four.

Travel to the Savanna Biome and complete BBQs until you have at least 50 BP.

Once you have at least 50 BP, head for Crispin. His location will be marked on your map.

Speak to the NPC on the right in order to pay the BP and begin the Trial.

Crispin’s challenge is going require you to make a spicy sandwich.

In order to do that, you’re going to have to get the required ingredients. You’ll need to the following items:

First up is Julienne for Potato Salad. She is found just to the right of Crispin. Beat her in a battle to receive the potato salad.

Now that you have the potato salad, you can then trade it to the kid on the left in front of the cactus for onion, cucumber and prosciutto.

After the trade, we will now have one of the required ingredients for the sandwich, an onion.

From there, head over to the other side of the area where you can see two kids facing each other in front of another cactus. Speak to the one with brown hair and trace the cucumber for chili sauce.

After that trade, we will now have our second ingredient for the sandwich, chili sauce.

Now, go back over to where we battled the first trainer near the cactus and speak to the one with dark hair. They’ll be talking about mayonnaise.

Battle Carmela in order to win the mayonnaise.

From there, go back to the two at the other cactus and speak to the one with light hair. Choose “Mayonnaise” to answer his question.

By answering the question correctly, you’ll get egg, olive oil and vinegar.

From there, go to the group of three NPCs and trade with them for the rest of your ingredients. It does not matter which order you trade with them in. Just speak to each one and make the trades.

Trade prosciutto and olive oil for a jalapeno.

Trade vinegar for mustard. Make sure to select mustard and NOT marmalade.

Trade an egg for chorizo.

Now that you have all of the ingredients, go speak to Crispin to make the sandwich.

After successfully making the sandwich, it’ll be time to battle Crispin.

After the battle, Crispin will give you TM207 Temper Flare.

When the cutscene ends, you can now move on to challenging the next of the Elite Four.

Amarys

Next up on our list is Amarys. With Crispin down, she’s ranked last.

Heal up your Pokemon and then head west. Make sure to complete any BBQs along if you need BP.

Once you reach the plaza, speak to the attendant and pay 50 BP in order to participate in the trial for Amarys.

This next trial is quick and easy. You’ll be using Koraidon/Miraidon to fly through rings. Each ring you fly through will give you more time. All you have to do is fly through the rings until you reach the goal.

After completing the trial, you’ll be challenged to a battle by Amarys.

Upon defeating Amarys, she’ll give you TM225 Hard Press.

After the cutscene ends, it’ll be time to fly to the Coastal Biome. From there, head north and we’ll be on our way to Lacey.

Lacey

As previously mentioned, fly to the Coastal Biome and then head north toward Lacey.

Catch any Pokemon you need and earn BP from BBQs.

Speak to the NPC at the desk to begin the trial for Lacey. It will cost 50 BP.

Lacey’s trial is a Pokemon Quiz. Use the magnifying glass to highlight the answer to the questions.

Question 1: Which part of the body does Pikachu store its electricity?

Answer: Cheeks

Question 2: Which body part allows Venonat allows it to detect surrounding objects?

Answer: Eyes

Question 3: Which Sinistea is an Antique Form?

Answer: Middle Sinistea

Question 4: Find the pink Minior.

Answer: The bottom right.

Question 5: Which part of Granbull’s body does Lacey use as a pillow?

Answer: Tummy

And with that, it’ll be time to battle Lacey.

After the battle, you’ll be given TM227 Alluring Voice.

That’s three down. One more to go.

Drayton

It’s time to head west through the Polar Plaza to take on Drayton.

If you haven’t already, make sure to catch Pokemon with Ground and or Fighting type moves along your way to Drayton.

Speak to the NPC at the desk of the plaza to begin the trial.

Drayton’s trial will have you battling against three different trainers. However, there is a bit of a twist here.

First, you will only be able to use Pokemon that you have caught in the Terrarium. Also, they had to have been caught by you. You cannot use Pokemon that have been traded to you. Tera Raid Pokemon caught in Terrarium can not be used as well.

Fortunately, the three trainers you need to battle all share common weaknesses. Ground and Fighting types. Golurk, Flygon and Rhydon are all good choices to go with here. You may also want to work in some Water type moves for the middle trainer. There are Lapras swimming in the waters of the Polar Biome that will have strong water attacks.

We’ll be challenging the trainers in order from left to right.

With all three of them defeated, it’ll be time to take on Drayton.

Make sure to select, “No” when speaking to him so that you can switch your party back to normal.

When you’re ready, initiate the battle.

You will be rewarded with TM226 Dragon Cheer for beating Drayton.

After the battle, heal your Pokemon and then fly to the Blueberry Academy.

Kieran

With the Elite Four down, it is time to head back to the Blueberry Academy to take on Kieran.

Go to the front desk to register for your battle when you’re ready.

You’re going to want to start off with a Pokemon that knows strong Fairy type attacks in order to get through Kieran’s first few Pokemon. Dragonite and Grimmsnarl. Politoed can be dealt with via Electric or Grass attacks. But you want to get Dragonite down quickly. It’ll just tank a lot of your damage and drag the battle down for you. So, something like Moon Blast can make quick work of Dragonite. Getting a fast start by knocking out that Dragonite quickly can be key for winning the battle.

After beating Kieran, Drayton will give you a Master Ball.

During the cutscene, you’ll learn that this story isn’t over just yet.

You’ll now be tasked with visiting Classroom 1-4 to speak with Ms. Briar.

Head to the door to the right of the front desk and head to Classroom 1-4.

Once there, Ms. Briar will tell you she needs us to go Area Zero.

After the cutscene in the classroom, speak to Geeta and she’ll give you the Indigo Disk.

After that, exit the classroom to the Entrance and then speak to Ms. Briar who can be found with Carmine near the bridge.

From there, you’ll automatically travel to Area Zero.

Area Zero

When you regain control, go into the building behind you to heal your Pokemon if you haven’t already healed them.

While you’re in that room, step on the on the green circular platform and fast travel to Research Station No. 4.

From there, exit the room and head down to the very bottom to the entrance of the Zero Lab. You can actually jump down and glide to the bottom on Koraidon/Miraidon.

After the cutscene outside of the lab, approach the panel and use the Indigo Disk to open it.

Enter the lab when the door opens. Make your way through the lab and ride the elevator down.

As you head into the depths of Area Zero, you’ll come across a Lv. 78 Glimmora. It’ll Terastalize at the beginning of the battle. So do the same with your Pokemon and beat it.

After the battle, the crystals that were blocking your path will be gone. Go down the newly opened pathway.

Follow the next path all the way until you reach another blocked entrance. Your group will be standing near it as well.

Ride Koraidon/Miraidon and make your way up to the Stellar Noivern nearby to battle it.

This battle will work the same way as the one against the Glimmora did previously.

After the battle, the path will be opened. Jump over and continue following it.

Inside, you’ll come to your third blocked path. Go through the tunnel to the left of the blocked path.

In the next area, collect the Tera Shards and make your way over to the Sandy Shocks/Iron Thorns to battle it.

Return to the group and then head down the newly opened tunnel.

There is a secret cave in this next room.

As you enter, jump and glide off of the pathway and go to the right to find a cave.

From that cave, jump and climb up to the next ledge and you’ll come to a room with a Garchomp and more Tera Shards.

After exploring that secret cave, exit and get back on the story path. Once there, head all the way down to the bottom where you will run into another blocked pathway.

Head south down the stream and you’ll find a Stellar Garganacl. Beat it to clear the crystals blocking the path.

Return to the group after the battle.

Go down the path and a cutscene will then play.

After the scene, heal your party.

Continue down the path.

Terapagos will appear, but you’ll need to battle Kieran here.

You’ll want to use Fighting type attacks against Terapagos during the battle with Kieran.

After the battle, Terapagos will Terastalize but will be too much for Kieran and it’ll be time to battle and attempt to catch Terapagos.

When the battle begins, Terastalize your Pokemon so that you can knock out the protected section of the health bar. You’ll need to repeat that until Kieran joins the battle. Continue to battle it until you deplete the health bar and you will then be given the opportunity to catch Terapagos. Make sure you choose to catch it. You can select whichever Poke Ball you’d like to use to catch it.

After the battle, a few cutscenes will play and you will then be automatically transported back to Blueberry Academy.

And with that, the credits will roll. The main story of the Indigo Disk will now be complete!

Postgame

Catching Legendary Pokemon

You can catch legendries by doing Blueberry Quests (BBQs). The difference here is that if you’re doing them solo, you can only catch certain ones in your game. If you do them in Group BBQs, you will be able to catch them all in your version. So, if doing solo BBQs, there are version exclusive legendries. If doing Group BBQs, all legendries will be available to you no matter what version you have.

To begin, speak to Snacksworth at the Entrance of Blueberry Academy.

For every 10 BBQs you complete solo or every 1 Group BBQ you complete, he will give you snack that corresponds to a legendary Pokemon.

He’ll give you hints as to where they can be found by telling you a story.

Group BBQs can be completed by going to Poke Portal > Union Circle.

Their locations are labeled on the maps below:

Groudon is found inside of the cave that is directly west of Alfornada.

Catching Starter Pokemon

In order to catch starter Pokemon in the wild, you will need to complete BBQs.

There are four rewards in the terminal in the League Club Room that you can unlock. These will spawn starter Pokemon in the wild.

Each of the rewards cost 3,000 BP.

Paradox Pokemon

Unlike in the base game of Scarlet/Violet, the Paradox Pokemon in the Indigo Disk are not found just by visiting Area Zero. In order to catch them, you will need to complete a side quest for Perrin.

There are also only one of each of the new Paradox Pokemon here. At the time of launch, there are not multiples walking around. So, if you’re gonna trade for the opposite version, just know that you will need to trade and then trade back if you want to keep your version’s Paradox Pokemon.

First, you will need to complete Perrin’s Bloodmoon Beast side quest in The Teal Mask DLC. This quest will have you tracking down and catching Ursaluna.

When that is completed, you can find Perrin at Savannah Rest Area 1.

Shell task you with registering at least 200 entries in your Blueberry Pokedex.

Once you’ve done that, speak to her again and she’ll give you clues in the forms of pictures to 2 of the 4 Paradox Pokemon (version dependent). They are all found inside of Area Zero.

Gouging Fire – As soon as you enter Area Zero, this is found on top of the middle waterfall in the distance.

Raging Bolt – From the entrance of Area Zero, go to your left. Continue until you come to a waterfall. Jump down where the waterfall goes over the ledge and glide all the way to the base of the waterfall to find Raging Bolt.

Iron Boulder – This is found directly east of Research Station 3 and below Research Station 2 behind a green stone wall.

Iron Crown – As soon as you enter Area Zero, jump over the fenced ledge and glide to a ledge behind you. You’ll need to turn the camera around.
