Helldivers 2 Trophy Guide

Welcome to the Helldivers 2 Trophy guide!

  • 6/10 Estimated Difficulty – Majority of the list is 4/10 but there are a few Trophies that can be difficult
  • Currently Undetermined – Estimated Hours to Completion – Will vary per player
  • Many Missions Required – Minimum Playthroughs
  • 0 Missable Trophies
  • All of Them – Online Trophies

Before we begin, it is important to point out that is an online only multiplayer game. It is possible to play solo, but you will be restricted to the trivial, easy, medium, and possibly (skill dependent) challenging difficulties. Not only will you not be able to earn all of Trophies on those difficulties, but you will not get the full experience of Helldivers 2 either. The game does have matchmaking so it is possible to play with randoms if you don’t have a group.

The majority of this list will be earned naturally by just playing the game. Most of the Trophies here are not hard, but there are a couple of Trophies that spike the difficulty of the Platinum. It is possible to farm some of them on your own solo at lower difficulties. That will only take you so far with this list. The extreme difficulty is not the highest difficulty in the game, but it is the highest difficulty needed on this Trophy list.

There really isn’t too much of a roadmap to follow here. The structure of the game is just playing through somewhat quick missions over and over. Play through the missions and gradually increase your difficulty level as you get better gear and become more familiar with how the game plays. Although, it is important to make sure you’re finding samples and completing side objectives during the missions. Components are used for upgrading your ship, side objectives will earn you more XP as well as more Requisition Slips which are used for buying stratagems.

General Tips

  • Friendly fire is always ON. Be aware of where your squad mates are when calling in stratagems, throwing grenades or firing your weapon. On the flip side, you need to be aware of where your squad mates are calling in their stratagems and firing weapons to avoid getting yourself killed.
  • Look for blinking beacons of light. These mark the locations of loot.
  • If you’re slowed, double tap to dive and then get back up to return to normal speed.
  • If you’re using support weapons or a guard dog, call them in as soon as you land in the mission. This will allow you to be fully ready from the start as well as begin the cooldown on them in case they are needed later.
  • There are “nukes” randomly found stuck in the environment across the missions. Shoot these from a safe distance to detonate them.
  • Reloading your weapon before it is empty will throw away the remaining ammo in the magazine. Do not reload until your current magazine is just about empty to maximize ammo.
  • If you come across a shipping container door next to some extra gear in a ditch, use grenades to blow open the door.
  • You can add an artillery stratagem mid mission by completing the tactical side objective. There are artillery cannons found through out the maps. You can reload them to complete a side objective. After they’re done, you’ll then be able to call strikes in from it.
  • Keep an eye for Samples when playing missions and collect as many as you can. These are collectibles usually found around objective areas. They are used to upgrade your ship.
  • Drop pods can kill enemies. If you die fighting a heavy enemy, you can try to land your drop pod on them when you respawn.
  • The mission does not end if the mission timer hits 0. You can still try to finish the mission, but you will no longer be able to call in stratagems.
  • Completing the main objective but failing to extract still counts a mission completed.
  • Satellite tactical side objectives will reveal gear locations on your map when completed.
  • If playing on extreme difficulty or higher, the key is to always keep moving. If you stop to fight, you’ll likely be swarmed by enemies. Stay on the run and move from objective to objective as quickly as you can. Light armor will help make you faster for this.

The Epitome of Super Earth

Obtain all trophies of HELLDIVERS™ 2.

Hell Dive

Complete an Extreme difficulty mission or higher without anyone dying.

This one of the more harder Trophies in Helldivers 2, but it’s not impossible.

This is easiest done on the Eradicate Terminid Swarm missions. All you have to do here is kill 200 enemies. The enemies will spawn in waves from set locations. So, you’ll know where they are coming from. The mission area is also really small, so you don’t have to worry about running into swarm after swarm of enemies out in the open map. If you aren’t sure where they’re spawning, look for the plumes of orange/red smoke from the bug breaches.

Sometimes there are ledges you can climb up on in the area. Hold while running into the lowest part of a cliff and you’ll sometimes climb up on to it. If you can make it up there, the enemies will not be able to reach you. The cliff picture below can be climbed on from the front right and backside. This map layout can be found on every bug planet.

The Trophy won’t pop until everyone has boarded the extract and it takes off.

  • Defensive stratagems are very helpful here. You can set up turrets and mines around the enemy spawns to help thin them out before they reach you. When placing turrets, make sure they aren’t placed too close to where you’re taking cover, otherwise they may kill you or a squadmate. Always be aware of where those are aiming.
  • The mortar turret can be useful, but only if enemies do not get in close to your squad. The mortars will land where the enemies are. So if they are in close, you will likely be killed by a mortar.
  • Air and orbital strikes are effective, but you’ll need to call these in on where the enemies are spawning. Again, remember to keep these stratagems away from you and your squad to avoid killing yourself or anyone else.
  • The guard dog supply stratagems are very helpful as well. These will kill enemies in all directions when they get near you.
  • Minefields are effective, but dangerous. If you use these, make sure you throw them far away from where you and your squad are at. You don’t want to risk having a teammate step on a mine. If you’re using these, throw them as close to the enemy spawn point as possible.
  • The recoilless and orbital laser are good for killing bile titans.

Hold my primary, I’m going in!

Complete a full Hard difficulty mission or higher without anyone firing their primary or support weapon.

Can be done solo

This is easiest done on the Eradicate Terminid Swarm missions. Hard is the lowest difficulty this can be completed on, so set it to hard. For this, you will need to kill 175 enemies. This can be done solo. The word “full” in the description is referring to a full mission, not a full squad. If you are playing with other people, they will also not be allowed to use primary or support weapons.

You cannot use your primary weapon or a support weapon.

You can use the following:

  • Sidearm
  • Grenades
  • Stratagems (just not support weapon stratagems)
    • There are descriptions on the stratagems that will say what type it is. If support weapon is listed, do not take it.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

When choosing stratagems, you’ll want to really consider the cool down times for them. You’re going to need these cooling down as quickly as possible.

The guard dog is very effective in helping with this. It is not counted as a support weapon. This will fly around you killing enemies for you.

Turrets are also very helpful here. Point them at enemy spawns, but don’t put them too close. Enemies will destroy them quickly, so make sure to give the turrets some distance to maximize kills with it.

Orbital strikes are good for the bigger enemies that spawn, but they aren’t required to kill. You just need to hit the total and then extract plane will land almost immediately. If you have to, just run around the map killing the smaller enemies.

Sometimes there are ledges you can climb up on in the area. Hold while running into the lowest part of a cliff and you’ll sometimes climb up on to it. If you can make it up there, the enemies will not be able to reach you. If you can’t climb up, you can try to land a respawn pod on top of one. Dying is okay here. That does not void this Trophy.

Gone in 360 seconds!

Complete a full Extreme difficulty Blitz mission and extract in under 6 minutes.

Blitz missions task you with closing bug holes. The timers for these are very short. In addition to that, the extract plane will require 2 minutes to land. So, you’re going to need to complete the mission objectives and get to the extract within 4 minutes.

In order to get this, you’re going to have to close the holes as quickly as you can. Do not search the map for side objectives/samples and don’t spend too much time fighting. There will be a lot of enemies chasing you down on extreme, but you’ll never make it in time if you stop to fight them. Fight off the enemies in your way as you move from objectives to objectives as necessary, but keep moving as best you can.

Bring orbital and air strike stratagems with you to kill large groups of enemies quickly. The grenade launcher can also kill bugholes from a distance.

When you only have a couple more holes to fill, have someone go to the extract. As soon as the mission is complete, have the other player call in extract as fast as they can. It takes the plane 2 minutes to land, so call that in as quickly as you can. There will be a lot of enemies rushing you while you wait for extract so be ready to run and use stratagems to clear them out. Be ready to get on the plane the second it lands. Make sure you’re aware of the timer so that you’re ready to get on. Don’t run too far from the extraction zone or the plane won’t land. If you or a squad mate gets too far, the plane will abort extract.

Another thing to look out for are Planetary Effects. If the effect is increased stratagem call in time, that means the extract time will be 4 minutes. Avoid missions with that effect active.

Extractamundo!

Extract with a full squad on a Hard difficulty or more mission.

In order to earn this, you will need to be in a full squad of 4 players on the hard difficulty from the start of the mission to the end.

Do not attempt hard until you are very familiar with the game and have unlocked better gear as well as upgraded your ship.

Complete the main objective of the mission and then extract with all 3 of your other squad mates.

Caught them by Supplies!

Kill a Charger with a resupply pod.

Can be done solo

Chargers are very big enemies that, well, charge at you. Their weak point is the under side of their short tail. There are missions dedicated to killing Chargers. You will have 2 opportunities per these missions to try and kill the Charger with a resupply pod.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

helldivers 2 trophy guide

You need to call in a resupply pod and have it land on the Charger. This Trophy is very tricky as it all comes down to timing. The Chargers are very fast and won’t sit still for long. So, the best way to get this is to sacrifice yourself.

Slowly walk through the map looking for the Charger. Before alerting the Charger to you, input the button combination for the resupply pod and have it ready to throw in your hand. Drop the resupply pod at your feet and stay there. Aggro the Charger and it’ll run at you. Stay where the pod is landing and survive as long as you can with the Charger attacking you in the same spot. if you can manage to stay where the pod is landing, it should hit Charger when it does land.

Samples are a diver’s best friend

Extract with at least 15 rare samples from a mission as a team.

Rare samples can be found starting with challenging difficulty. They are marked with an orange square icon.

As the name implies, they are harder to find. They are often found at side objectives and main objectives. Make sure to search the area of any objective in order to find as many of these as you can. Unlike the common supplies, this is the total for your whole team. You do not have to personally pick up and carry all 15.

You can buy the UAV Recon Booster to add the locations of interest to your radar. Rare samples are often found in or around points of interest as well as the red enemy areas marked on your radar. Just remember you have to take the recon booster with you when you’re selecting your stratagems in the drop pod before a mission. The recon booster is on page 6 of the “Mobilize!” Warbond.

Doing your part

Complete at least 100 missions.

This is something that will come over time as you play through the game.

You can see how many missions you’ve completed by going to the Armory on your ship.

Armory > Career > Missions Won.

It’s the only way to be sure…

Have 6 orbital barrage stratagems in the same place at the same time.

In order to earn this, you’re going to need at least one other player. This can be hard to get with randoms, so you’ll want to team up with someone you know when attempting this.

There are 4 different orbital barrage stratagems:

  • Orbital Gattling Barrage
  • Orbital 120MM HE Barrage
  • Orbital 380MM HE Barrage
  • Orbital Walking Barrage

Fill your pre-mission stratagems with all orbital barrages. The amount you take will depend on how many players are with you, but you will need 6 of them across your squad. Drop into a trivial mission to avoid troubles with enemies and call in every orbital barrage you and your squad have. Throw all 6 in the same area at the same time. Just keep calling them in until at least 6 have been called in the same spot. They don’t have to be exactly the same location, but try to get them as close together as you can.

For the greater good!

Kill 5,000 enemies.

This is something that will pop naturally over time as you play through the game.

Kill it with Fire!

Kill 100 enemies using fire damage during the same mission.

Can be done solo

There are a few different stratagems that can be used for this.

  • Flamethrower – Call it in at the beginning of the mission and make sure to only use it. Call in a resupply when low on ammo or find some during the mission.
  • Eagle Napalm Airstrike – This airstrike will leave behind fire killing any enemies that run through it. Use it on big groups or waves of enemies.
  • Incendiary Mines – This will deploy and then scatter mines over a large area.

Play through a mission farming kills with any of the above stratagems until you reach 100. This has to be done in a single mission.

Get some!

Fire at least 150 rounds in one burst, killing at least 10 enemies.

See “The Power of Democracy” Trophy below for more details.

That which does not kill you…

Be injured in all limbs at the same time.

Can be done solo

This will likely come naturally over time as you play through the missions, but you can farm this solo if you’d like.

When you’re seriously injured, pictures of your injured body parts will appear on screen. In order to earn this, you will need have the following body parts injured all at the same time.

  • Torso
  • Left Arm
  • Right Arm
  • Left Leg
  • Right Leg

helldivers 2 trophy guide

This can be earned solo by calling in an orbital strike and standing right where it is going to land.

The power of Democracy

Kill 25 enemies with one stratagem.

Can be done solo

This is something that is easier done on the higher difficulties as there will be a lot more enemies spawning.

Use any of your damage inflicting stratagems on a big group or spawning wave of enemies. You will need that one stratagem to get at least 25 kills in a single use.

The Gatling Sentry is good for this as it will kill enemies in multiple directions. You also do not have to worry about timing a correctly place airstrike either. The Gatling Sentry can stay in one place and kill the enemies as they approach. There is no timing needed. Just place it down before a heavy wave is about to spawn such as during an objective or waiting for extract. Make sure to kill any enemies that get near so that they don’t destroy it. The sentries go down quickly.

While using the Gatling Sentry for this Trophy, you will also likely earn the “Get Some!” Trophy. The Gatling Sentry fires at a very high rate of fire. So reaching the 150 rounds in one burst is easy to reach with this stratagem as long as it doesn’t stop firing. If the enemy wave is big enough, the Sentry will not stop firing. If it gets the 25 kills needed for “The power of Democracy,” it will obviously earn the 10 kills required for “Get Some!” at the same time.

Fully operational

Reach max rank on one ship module.

The ship modules can be viewed via the Ship Management consoles aboard your ships.

Ship module upgrades are bought using the samples you can find out on missions. In order to earn this Trophy, you’re going to have to buy all 3 upgrades in the same category. Remember, if you or a teammate dies, you will drop your samples. You will need to pick them back up where you or your squad mate died.

Different samples are found across different difficulties

  • Common Samples – All difficulties
  • Rare Samples – Challenging and higher
  • Super Samples – Suicide Mission and higher

You can only find three Super Samples per mission and they only spawn next to a certain structure. Those will not be found at objectives like the other two types.

Ship it!

Upgrade all ship modules at least 1 level.

The ship modules can be viewed via the Ship Management consoles aboard your ships.

Ship module upgrades are bought using the samples you can find out on missions. In order to earn this Trophy, you’re going to have to buy the 1st upgrade in each of the different categories. Remember, if you or a teammate dies, you will drop your samples. You will need to pick them back up where you or your squad mate died.

  • Donation Access License
  • Exploding Shrapnel
  • Liquid-Ventilated Cockpit
  • Targeting Software Upgrade
  • Synthetic Supplementation
  • Dynamic Tracking

Nothing is bigger than Freedom

Defeat a Hulk.

Can be done solo

Hulks are found on the bot planets beginning on medium difficulty. You’re guaranteed to find them on the Eliminate Hulk Automaton missions.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

These are big robot enemies that have two guns attached to their arms. They have weak points on their backs, but can be taken down easily with heavy stratagems or the recoilless.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

The taller they are…

Defeat a Bile Titan.

Bile Titans can be found starting on challenging difficulty on bug planets. There are missions dedicated to killing them.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

Their weak points are on their under side, but orbital railgun and laser strikes are very effective against them. If you die, you can also kill one by aiming your drop pod onto the titan. Crashing through its body will kill it.

They don’t call it Tacticool for nothin’

Complete 10 tactical objectives.

Can be done solo

Tactical objectives are side objectives found within missions that lend you support when completed.

These are the side locations with satellites, artillery cannons and spore trees.

  • Getting the satellites back online will improve your in game map for the mission.
  • Loading artillery cannons will give you a new stratagem to call in.
  • Destroying spore trees will clear up the foggy mess of spores and improve visibility.
  • Closing Stalker Hives will stop stalkers from spawning.

You’ll likely come across these without having to go too far out of your way, but make sure to explore the map when able. Look for the “?” icons on your compass for hints to their locations.

Let’s call it a draw

Shoot off both arms on a Hulk and then extract while it’s alive.

This can be earned on the Eradicate Automaton Forces missions on hard and above. These take place on the bot planets.

These missions will require you to kill a set amount of enemies before extracting.

On hard, hulk enemies will spawn. Before going into the mission, bring the Expendable Anti-Tank rocket launcher with you. When a hulk spawns, use the rocket launcher to target the guns on both arms. One missile is enough to destroy an arm. When the arms are destroyed, finish the remaining amount of enemies and then extract. Do not kill the hulk. Make sure you know where the hulk is before using heavy stratagems. You don’t want to accidentally kill it with an airstrike or orbital blast. The hulk must be alive when you extract.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

There are missions dedicated to killing the hulks, but they will not work for this as the mission requires them to be killed.

Cool guys don’t loo- AAAAH!

Fly at least 25 meters from the shockwave of an explosion.

Can be done solo

This Trophy is referring to being blown back from a nearby explosion.

This will likely come naturally over time as you play through the missions, but you can farm this solo if you’d like.

Load up a mission and then call in an orbital strike. Don’t stand directly on it, but make sure to be near where it will land. When it strikes, you’ll be thrown back. It may take a few tries to get the right distance.

Hot Potato!

Throw back a live grenade.

Can be done solo

This Trophy can be earned during missions against bots.

The robot enemies will throw grenades at you. In order to get this, you need to be very close to a thrown grenade. When close enough, an prompt will appear on the grenade. Press it and throw it in any direction. You just need to toss it. You don’t need to get a kill with it.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

Bot Scrapper

Play 1 Bot Mission.

Can be done solo

Bot Missions can be selected on the left side of the Galactic War table. It is the red color labeled, “Automatons.” Any mission where bots are the enemy will count toward this.

Bug Stomper

Play 1 Bug Mission.

Can be done solo

Bug Missions can be selected on the right side of the Galactic War table. It is the orange color labeled, “Terminids.” Any mission where bugs are the enemy will count toward this.

Extracting the Countryside

Play a planet defense mission.

Planet defense missions are part of timed events where some of the planets will need to be defended. These are not running daily and are only available for limited times.

When active, there will be a defense meter when highlighting a planet. All you have to do is play a mission on a planet that requires defense. Win or fail, the Trophy will pop after the mission.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

Patriot

Play at least 50 missions.

This is something that will come over time as you play through the game.

You can see how many missions you’ve played by going to the Armory on your ship.

Armory > Career > Missions Played.

Hold My Liber-tea!

While using a jump pack, knock yourself into a ragdoll state.

Can be done solo

Before this can be earned, you will need to first unlock the Jump Pack Stratagem. It will cost 6,000 Requisition Slips and you need to at least be level 8.

Once you have it, load into a mission and then call it in. Equip the jump pack, drop a grenade at your feet, press to jump and then hold to hover above the grenade. You need to be above the grenade in the air when it explodes. Once the grenade explodes, it’ll send you flying.

Eat This!

Kill a bug warrior with a shotgun within 1 meter.

Can be done solo

First, you will need to unlock a shotgun. The SG-8 Punisher shotgun can be bought from page 1 of the Helldivers Mobilize Warbond by spending Medals.

Once you have a shotgun, start any bug mission and let a warrior get right in front of you. When it is directly in front of you, shoot it with the shotgun and kill it. This may take a few kills. Personally, this didn’t for me until I killed a third one.

The warriors are the medium sized bug enemy types.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

Democracy ain’t done with you yet

Heal another player using stims.

This has to be done while playing with at least one other player.

When another player in your game is low on health, run up to them and a prompt should appear. Interact with the prompt to heal them. If there is no prompt, they need to lose more health.

Promote Synergy

Provide assisted reload for a teammate.

In order to earn this, you will need a teammate that has the Recoilless Rifle stratagem. Or, you can buy it and drop it by picking up a different heavy weapon in game. When the Recoilless lands, it’ll have a rocket on one side and the ammo for it on the other side of the pod. Your partner needs to pick up the Recoilless and you need to pick up the ammo.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

Stand behind your partner when they fire the Recoilless and then interact with the  prompt to reload the weapon for your partner.

Only the person loading the ammo will get the Trophy.

Strapping young lad

Customize your Helldiver with new cape, armor, and helmet.

Go to the Armory consoles on your ship in order to customize your cosmetics.

All you have to do here is equip a different armor, helmet and cape. Each of those items can be purchased from the Acquisition Center under Warbonds or Superstore.

In the nick of time

Extract after the timer reaches zero.

Can be done solo

All of the missions in Helldivers 2 are timed. The time can be seen in the top right corner of the screen. If the mission timer reaches 0, the mission does not automatically end. Instead, it gets harder. Your stratagems will no longer be available after the mission timer hits 0. You will however still be able to try and finish the mission.

This is something that may come as you play through the higher difficulties, but it can be farmed solo on trivial difficulty if not.

Complete the mission objective and get to the extraction zone. Wait for the mission timer to get to less than 2 minutes left and then call in the extraction plane. The plane takes 2 minutes to land, so you can time it up so that the plane will land after the timer hits 0. Get on it and extract.

The Blitz missions have the shortest amount of mission time.

The Real Deal

Complete Basic Training.

You’ll be automatically placed into Basic Training when you first start up the game. This is something you are forced to complete.

The long arm of Justice

Kill a target at a distance of over 100m.

Can be done solo

This can be done by shooting an enemy at long distance with the Anti-Material Rifle. This is a support stratagem that you’ll need to buy and then call in during a mission.

Press to tag an enemy to see how far away they are from you. Kill anything that is at least 100 meters away.

Stalking is illegal

Complete a Stalker Hive tactical objective.

Stalkers are enemies that can cloak themselves. They are found beginning on hard difficulty.

A stalker hive is just a bigger bug hole that stalkers spawn from. All you have to do is close the hole with a grenade like the normal bug holes. These are randomly placed around the maps as a side tactical objective.

You can increase your chances of finding one by playing blitz missions. The main objective for those is to close bug holes, so you’ll likely come across them as you complete the main objective.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

Job’s done!

Complete a mission but fail to extract.

Can be done solo

In order to earn this, you will need to complete the main objective and then die until you are out of respawns.

This is something that may come as you play through the higher difficulties, but it can be farmed solo if not. Load up a mission on trivial and complete the main objective. Then, let yourself die repeatedly until the mission is failed. You can let enemies kill you, grenade yourself or call in stratagems and stand under them to make the deaths go quicker.

Science is done by quantity

Extract with at least 15 common samples.

Can be done solo

Samples are a currency found during missions that can be used for Ship Upgrades. They are found randomly throughout the maps. They are picked up with .

helldivers 2 trophy guide

helldivers 2 trophy guide

If you die, you’ll drop however many samples you had. They aren’t gone for good, fortunately. You will need to return to where you died and pick them up in order to get them back.

This can easily be done on a trivial difficulty mission. The amount of common samples per mission appears to be random, so the mission will need to have at least 15 common samples available. You can tell how many there are by entering the mission, pressing the TouchPad to bring up the map and it’ll say in the top right corner of the screen 0/15 amount.

The trivial missions are good for this as the enemies are manageable and the maps are smaller. The majority of the common samples will be found at the main objective as well as at the extraction point. If you don’t have 15 from those two locations, search the rest of the map for points of interest. The maps are small on trivial, so exploring shouldn’t take too long.

Once you have 15, call in the extract and get on the plane while carrying all 15. You need to personally be carrying the 15 samples.

They mostly come at night…

Extract from a mission during nighttime.

Can be done solo

Some missions take place at night. All you have to do is play a mission set during nighttime and extract. This is something that will come naturally as you play.

There is a small blue moon icon when selecting missions at night.

helldivers 2 trophy guide

Spread Managed Democracy

Kill 150 enemies during the same mission.

Can be done solo

This is something that will come naturally as you play through harder difficulties. The higher difficulties starting at Challenging will spawn plenty of enemies for this. This will count your gun kills as well as kills via Stratagems.

  1. The “complete 100 missions” progress, should be found in-game under “missions won”, and not “missions played.”
