Welcome to the Black Myth: Wukong Trophy guide and roadmap!
- 6/10 Estimated Difficulty
- 50 – 60Estimated Hours to Completion
- 2 – Minimum Play-Throughs
- 7 – Missable Trophies
- 0 – Difficulty Related Trophies – No difficulty options available
- 0 – Online Trophies
To start things off, it is going to take at least 2 playthroughs in order to earn every Trophy. An initial playthrough and then another one in New Game +. There are some items that can only be obtained in New Game +, but you also need to craft every piece of armor and weapon. You will not have enough materials from a single playthrough to craft everything.
This list is basically centered around collecting everything. The game is broken up into 6 chapters that you can travel back and forth to freely. The areas are big, but they aren’t vast open worlds. They are mostly all linear. Taking the time to explore optional paths will lead you to finding most of the collectibles. I say most because some of what is required here is pretty well hidden. There is no map to consult, no objective trackers and no quest log. That applies for both the main story as well as side quests. There’s a good chunk of this game that is completely hidden, which means it is very easy to miss some things. Because of that, you can consult the Black Myth: Wukong 100% Completion Walkthrough for a chronological list of everything required for earning the Platinum Trophy as well as 100% in game completion.
Missables
As noted above, there are 7 missable Trophies.
- Urge Unfulfilled
- Portraits Perfected
- Master of Magic
- A Curious Collection
- Mantled with Might
- Fickle Forms
- Brewer’s Bounty
A New Game + playthrough is required, so missing things on your initial playthrough isn’t the end of the world. You’re going to have to go back through it anyway, so whatever you missed can be collected on your NG+ run. If for some reason you miss anything on NG+, you can roll that over into a NG++ run. So, everything will keep carrying over.
Playthrough #1
For your first playthrough, it is best for you to try and collect everything that is available on your first run. Doing so will not only earn you the Trophies here, but it will also make the game easier. There is no difficulty settings in Black Myth: Wukong, but you can make the game easier by finding weapons, spells, spirits, Curios, Drinks, Soaks, Celestial Pills, armor etc. The majority of the list can be completed in your first run, so go ahead and do that. That includes the secret ending as well. You can load back into your game after beating the final boss to go take on the secret ending bosses.
As previously mentioned, you can fast travel between locations. Each Chapter takes place in a set location. When the chapter ends, you’re off to a new location. You can still travel back to previously completed chapter areas. In fact, that is required for certain items and bosses.
Even after beating the game, you can “free roam” through the 6 chapter areas and continue to clean up. After finishing the story, You need to choose the “Continue Your Journey” option at the main menu in order to free roam. Choosing, “Enter a New Cycle” will start your NG+ run. Doing that will carry everything over to a new run, but your initial playthrough will be gone. So, it is important that you completed everything you can on your initial play through before starting NG+. There is only one save file here, so you won’t have any back up saves. Do not start NG+ until you are absolutely ready.
New Game +
NG+ is required to finish off collecting certain items. It is started by choosing, “Enter a New Cycle.” What you really need to do on this run is collect crafting materials. So, you’re going to have to do everything again. That includes optional bosses, secret areas and the secret ending. You can’t just fly through it skipping content as certain enemies and areas provide you with the required crafting materials. If you don’t get enough crafting materials on this run, you can start a NG++ playthrough. Everything will carry over from + to ++.
Final Fulfilment
Each ordeal paves your path to what you are meant to be.

Home is Behind
The old monkey has told his tale. Onward you must go.
This is an unmissable story related Trophy. This is earned after completing the opening tutorial boss fight.
A Spark of Thought
Nothing sparks your talents more than a spark of thought.
This is earned by unlocking your first skill. This can be done after the boss fight against Bullguard.
Brew of Bravery
Fresh brew in an old cask. May it stir a great task!
This can be earned in Chapter 1 immediately after the Bamboo Grove > Marsh of White Mist Shrine. Shortly down the path, you’ll meet Shen Monkey. Follow him into the cave and speak with him. Select:
Brew > Soak and then choose a Soak to brew. You will be given the Gall Gem automatically from Shen Monkey which can be used to earn this Trophy.
Creative Concoction
Tonics are well and good, but not to be wolfed like food!
This can be earned in Chapter 2. This is earned by making a medicine at a shrine.
In order to do this, you will need to beat the Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw optional boss. From the Village Entrance Shrine, go left to the small wooden bridge. Drop down the right side and follow the path down into a cave. Go past the stairs on the left and exit the cave. This boss will be found in some water.
After beating Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw, go back into the cave and speak to the NPC that was near the cave exit. Completing this will allow you to make medicines at shrines. If you advanced the story too far, Xu Dog will appear at a different location later in the game where this can be completed.
Happy Harvest
Fields kept trim leave time to skim.
To unlock this, you’re going to need to bring seeds to Chen Loong in the secret area, Zodiac Village. After some time has passed, return to Chen Loong and harvest the seeds that you gave him to unlock this Trophy.
There are two things to know about this Trophy as well as the “Seeds to Sow” Trophy.
First, you need to collect seeds. Seeds are collected randomly by interacting with plants. Make sure you always interact with plants when you come across them in order to cut down on any possible farming time later on in the game. There are 15 different types of seeds and you will need to bring one of each of them to Chen Loong in order to earn the “Seeds to Sow” Trophy.
- Jade Lotus
- These are found in water across multiple chapters.
- Fragrant Jade Flower
- Found in the Estate of Zhu in Chapter 4.
- Fire Bellflower
- Ashen Pass I in Chapter 5.
- Celestial Pear
- These are found in Chapter 3. You can find 3 plants in Valley of Ecstasy > Brook of Bliss.
- Licorice
- These can be found in Sandgate Bound in Chapter 2.
- Aged Ginseng
- Millennium Ginseng
- This seed is dropped by the Old Ginseng Gui boss in Chapter 3 > Towers of Karma. This will count as both Aged and Millennium Ginseng when given to Chen Loong.
- Gentian
- Forest of Felicity in Chapter 3.
- Nine-Capped Lingzhi
- Purple Lingzhi
- This seed is dropped by the Nine Capped Lingzhi boss in Chapter 5 > Ashen Pass III. This will count as both Nine-Capped and Purple Lingzhi when given to Chen Loong.
- Snake-Head Mushroom
- Monkey-Head Fungus
- This seed is dropped by the Fungiwoman mini boss in Chapter 4 > Court of Illumination. This will count as both Snake-Head and Monkey-Head Fungus when given to Chen Loong.
- Fire Date
- These are found in the lava pools of Chapter 5 in the Valley Entrance.
- Tree Pearl
- Golden Lotus
- These are dropped by killing Golden Lotus Guai. Unlike the flowers, these do not require 30 minutes to respawn since they are enemies. You can farm these on Turtle Island in Chapter 3.
The second thing to know about these Trophies is that you need to find the secret location, Zodiac Village. This is where you can give Chen Loong the seeds.
From the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Shrine in Chapter 3, turn around and face the lake. Go slight right and follow the shore over to a house. Chen Loong will be out in the water next to that house. Fight him to begin the side quest. Speak to him after the fight.
Step 2: Return to the shrine and fast travel to Yellow Wind Ridge > Crouching Tiger Temple > Cellar. Once there, speak to Xu Dog and choose the “Talk” option. If he doesn’t mention Chen Loong, choose “Talk” again until he does. He will give you the “Special-made-Bone-Strengthening Pellet.”
Step 3: Fast travel back to the North Shore of the Bitter Lake Shrine and return to Chen Loong to deliver the Pellet. Once you deliver it, the quest will be completed. You will also be automatically transported to a secret area, Zodiac Village.
Pound and Perfect
“Through fire, armor is refined; through trials, strength is defined.”
This is unlocked by upgrading any piece of armor at the black smith in the secret area, Zodiac Village.

Blazing Black Wind
Of all things to learn, you chose to play with fire?
This is an unmissable story related Trophy. This is earned by beating the Black Bear Guai boss at the end of Chapter 1.
Temple of Taint
Now at an end is the elder’s long wait for the journeyer.
This Trophy is earned by defeating the secret boss, Elder Jinchi. In order to reach this boss, you will need to ring three different bells found throughout Chapter 1.
- Bell #1 – Forest of Wolves > Outside the Forest
The first bell is found in the back of the area where you fight the Guangzhi boss. You can reach this area by taking the left path just after the shrine. Go across the bridge and follow the torches on the other side of the bridge to this boss area.
- Bell #2 – Bamboo Grove > Snake Trail
This bell is up a stair path in the back of the area where you fought the Guangmou boss. From the Snake Trail shrine, look over to the left and you’ll see a building. Go into the building and then exit through the right. This is a shortcut instead of going up and around the bridge. Jump over the log in front of you and you’ll drop down into a river below. Once in the river, jump to the path ahead and follow it to the right. Once you reached the forested area, go over to the right side and there will be in an opening in the rock wall that will lead to this boss fight area.
- Bell #3 – Bamboo Grove > Marsh of White Mist
This bell is found through the opening in the back of the area where you fought the Whiteclad Noble. This boss will be on the story path. When you ring the third bell, you will be taken to the secret area, Ancient Guanyin Temple. Here you will have to fight Elder Jinchi.
*NOTE* The Wandering Wight enemy will be gone if you beat Elder Jinchi before beating the Wandering Wight.
A Great Gust
There will be more sages if their maker still engages.
This is an unmissable story related Trophy. This is earned by beating the Yellow Wind Sage boss at the end of Chapter 2.
Shifting Sands
The beetle came with drumbeats’ call, and left with waves’ gentle fall.
This is earned by completing the Boar’s side quest in Chapter 2.
- From the Rockrest Flat shrine, head toward the Stone Vanguard boss arena. Take the path to the right of that boss arena entrance. There will be an NPC resting near a boulder straight ahead in the next area. Go interact with it to start this quest.
- From the Windrest Bridge Shrine, follow the path and cross the bridge to enter the small village. At the end of the bridge, go left. Follow that until you see a doorway up some stairs on the right. Go through that door and then left a few steps until you find a glowing pot inside of a room next to a torch. Break the pot to get the Sobering Stone. From here, fast travel back to the Rockrest Flat shrine and speak with the drunken boar again. Exhaust his dialogue.
- Fast travel back to the Temple Entrance shrine. Buy a Jade Lotus from the shrine store if you do not already have one. Then, head up the stairs and go into the third opening on the right to find the boar again. Speak with him and give him the Jade Lotus. Exhaust his dialogue once again.
- After giving him the Jade Lotus, fast travel back to the Rockrest Flat shrine and go to where you originally met the boar and look over to the right to see the Yellow-Robed Squire. Fight and beat him. You will need to have first beaten the First Prince of the Flowing Sands boss before you can fight the Yellow-Robed Squire.
- After beating the Yellow-Robed Squire, go to the big stone door that he was standing in front of and interact with it to open it. This will reveal the secret area, Kingdom of Sahi, as well as another Tiger Vanguard boss. This Tiger Vanguard will be marked in your Journal as a different entry than the other Tiger Vanguard boss from the temple.
- After defeating the Tiger Vanguard, enter the new open area and go speak to the giant NPC on the right side cliff. This NPC will summon the Fuban boss. Beat Fuban to complete the Boar’s quest.
Nifty Nonsense
The fat monk failed, for he spoke too much.
This is an unmissable story related Trophy. This is earned by beating the Yellowbrow boss at the end of Chapter 3.
Behold the Betrayal
More eyes do not see more than the mortal trifles.
This is an unmissable story related Trophy. This is earned by beating the Hundred-Eyed Daoist boss at the end of Chapter 4.
The Cockerel Crowed
Long and short, far and near, each span has its year.
This is earned by beating the final boss of the secret area in chapter, Duskveil. In order to reach the secret area, you will need to fight Venom Daoist 2 times in Chapter 4.
- From the Pool of Shattered Jade Shrine, take the path to the right and follow it through the hanging cocoons. Go until you come to a lone bigger cocoon hanging. Attack it and the boss will spawn. Beat this boss and then it will run away. You’ll need to track it down later in the chapter.
- From the Temple Entrance Shrine, follow the story path and it will take you up some stairs. At the top, go down the path to the end. There will be stairs on your left and an open gate on your right. Go through the open gate on the right. Follow the path from there. Once you go up two back to back sets of stairs, there will be a split. Go to the left. Keep going down the slope and Venom Daoist will spawn. He will only spawn if you beat him earlier in the chapter. You will need to fight him two times here. After the fight, interact with the wall right in front of you and you’ll be taken to the secret area.
Duskveil can be found at the very end of the secret area, Purple Cloud Mountain. Make sure to fight Scorpionlord here BEFORE fighting Duskveil to avoid missing out on a Gourd and armor dropped by Scorpionlord.
Flaming Fury
The golden child brought fire and smoke; when they cleared, the family broke.
This is an unmissable story related Trophy. This is earned by beating the Yaksha King boss at the end of Chapter 5.
Frost and Flame
The merging of ice and fire, swift and severe.
This is unlocked by beating the final boss of the secret area, Bishui Cave, in Chapter 5. You can reach this area by completing the 5 Elemental Carts side quest in Chapter 5.
- From the Ashen I Shrine, follow the story path and you’ll come to a battle with bulls and revenants. There will be a boss called, Pale-Axe Stalwart. Fight him until he stops fighting and then talk to him. Exhaust all of his dialogue and he will explain the Five Elemental Carts which will begin this side quest.
- From where you spoke to Pale-Axe Stalwart, go up the stairs on the left side of where the battle was taking place. The Brown Iron Cart boss will be up at the top of the stairs.
- The Gray Bronze Cart boss will be on the story path.
- From the Valley Entrance Shrine, follow the story path until you go down a hill and are next to a lava pool on the right. If you go straight forward there is a cave you can enter ahead. At the end of the short path is the next cart. You just have to interact with the rope hanging from the front of the cart. There is no fight with this one.
- The Crimson Silver Cart boss will be on the story path shortly after leaving the throne room in The Emerald Hall.
- Travel to the Ashen Pass I and exhaust all of the Pale-Axe Stalwart’s dialogue. He will be where you first met him. Then, travel to the Emerald Hall and return to where you fought the Crimson Silver Cart. The Pale-Axe Stalwart will be there. Speak to him and exhaust all of his dialogue. When both of those things are done, go to the Cooling Slope Shrine.
- From the Cooling Slope Shrine, head over to the right. There will be a frozen gate. As you approach the gate, the Rusty Gold Cart boss will spawn. After the boss fight, speak to the Pale-Axe Stalwart. He is near the frozen gate. After the conversation, interact with the frozen gate and you’ll be able to enter the secret area of Chapter 5. Walk through the gate and keep going forward. You’ll be transported to the secret area.
Meet the Match
“Let go of him, and you let go of all.”
This is unlocked by completing the secret ending.
In order to get the secret ending, you will need to complete all of the secret areas in each chapter and complete the game. Once you’ve done those things, choose to “Continue Your Journey” so that you load back into your save. If you choose “Enter a New Cycle,” your save will be overwritten and you will begin New Game +.After continuing, fast travel to Pagoda Realm > A Snow Veiled Trail. From the shrine, take the path to the left and cross over the nearby bridge. On the other side of the bridge, follow the path all the way to the end and you will reach a huge wall that you can interact with. A secret area is considered “finished” when you beat the final boss of the area. If you followed this guide, all of the steps will be completed.
- Finish Chapter 1 Secret Area
- Finish Chapter 2 Secret Area
- Finish Chapter 4 Secret Area
- Finish Chapter 5 Secret Area
- You may need to finish the Treasure Hunter side quest. Unconfirmed, but do it anyway.
- Finish Chapter 6
- Continue your Journey
- Fast travel to Pagoda Realm > A Snow Veiled Trail and reach the secret area entrance.
- Beat the final bosses in the secret area.
A chronological walk through of the game, as well as all of the secret areas, can be found at the Black Myth: Wukong 100% Completion Walkthrough.
The toughest part of the secret ending is beating the first fight against Erlang. The thing you want to do is empty the top thin bar above his health. That bar will shield him from damage. Every 25% chunk of health will spawn a new armor bar. So, you need to chop this fight up into 4 parts. 1 part for each armor bar. Here is the recommended fight sequence below:
- 1st Armor Bar
After dodging his initial attack, use Pluck of Many and then Immobilize while the monkeys are surrounding him. Attack him as well. This should get the 1st armored bar down very low. Once it’s gone, damage him until 25% of his health is missing.
- 2nd Armor Bar
Get up on him close and use Azure Dust transformation. Transforming will damage him. Use the
attack on him until your might bar is low. Then, get close to him and de-transform. If you’re close enough, you’ll do more damage. If his armor bar is not gone, use Cloud Step to disappear. Hit him to come out of Cloud Step and whittle that Armor bar down some more. If you can just dodge and buy time, Cloud Step should refill fairly quickly. Use it again. When the bar is gone, damage him until 50% of his health is missing.
- 3rd Armor Bar
Get close to him and use the Earth Wolf Spirit. This will take a good chunk of his Armor Bar away. By this time, your other abilities from the other steps should have refreshed. So, go ahead use them to get this Armor Bar depleted. When the bar is gone, damage him until 75% of his health is missing.
- 4th Armor Bar
Getting his final bar empty is easily done by using the Plantain Fan Vessel. One use of this will completely empty his final bar. When it does, his last 25% of health will be open for attack. Use any refreshed abilities you have to finish him off.
The boss fights after this one are significantly easier.
A Duel of Destiny
Two minds’ long fray leaves but one to stay.
This is an unmissable story related Trophy. This is earned by beating the final boss of Chapter 6.
The Clamor of Frogs
Six frogs, six skills—how intriguing!
This is earned by killing 6 different frog type bosses. There is 1 frog boss found per chapter.
- Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang – Chapter 1
From the Snake Trail shrine, look over to the left and you’ll see a building. Go into the building and then exit through the right. Jump over the log in front of you and you’ll drop down into a river below. This is a shortcut instead of going up and around the bridge. Once in the river, follow it to the left and go all the way to the end where it will lead to big open lake area. This boss can be found in this open lake area.
- Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw – Chapter 2
From the Village Entrance Shrine, go left to the small wooden bridge. Drop down the right side and follow the path down into a cave. Go past the stairs on the left and exit the cave. This boss will be found in some water.
- Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang – Chapter 3
From the Forest of Felicity Shrine, go through the gate on the left. Take a left a few steps after the gate. The path is sort of hidden but it is just after passing through the gate. Once through there, go left. Go to straight back to the frozen lake where this boss will be waiting.
- Baw-Li-Guhh-Baw – Chapter 4
From the Lower Hollow Shrine, take the path left. Go through the hanging cocoons until you reach the three enemies that shoot webs at you. At about that spot, look left to see an opening in the wall that you can interact with. Squeeze through it and follow the path to the left. Keep going that way and you can drop into the boss arena.
- Baw-Lang-lang – Chapter 5
This boss is found by going through a frozen entry way that leads to the secret area of Chapter 5 in the Cooling Slope. You can see the Black Myth: Wukong 100% Completion Walkthrough for more information on that. You can also see the “Frost and Flame” Trophy above for that as well.
When you enter through the frozen gate, this enemy will be on your left. If you go too far into the cave, you’ll be transported to the secret area. Go to the left to get this boss. You can come back if you go too far.
The Sire and Sons
“For what deed, must the four waters they governed roam free?”

In the boss arena, there is a brown wall that looks noticeably different than the rock wall on the left. Use the Wandering Wight spirit on that wall to crack it open. If you do not have that spell, you can also use the boss during the fight here. Dodge out of the way near the wall and the boss will hit it. Interact with the crack in the wall to enter a hidden area. Once inside, open the chest to acquire the Loong Scales.
- Black Loong – Chapter 2
From the Rockrest Flat shrine, go right and head up the stairs toward the waterfall of sand. Interact with the sand waterfall to reveal a hidden boss area.

Take the left path at the next split next to a chest. From there, you should see a waterfall in the distance. Head straight for that waterfall and interact with it to reveal this next boss fight.
- Cyan Loong – Chapter 3
From the Turtle Island Shrine, look right and head straight. Go down the slope and you’ll see a statue down in the distance. As you approach that statue, the boss will spawn from it.
- Yellow Loong – Chapter 4

As you exit the stairs, go through the open doors. There will be two electricity enemies on the right. Don’t go that way. Instead, go left and there will be a big wooden bridge.
