Welcome to the Gears of War: Reloaded Trophy Guide!
- 7/10 – Estimated Difficulty
- This is multiplayer skill/some luck dependent. Can be harder or easier depending on the player.
- 100+ Estimated Hours to Completion
- This can be shortened by boosting some of the multiplayer Trophies
- 1 – Minimum Play-Through
- 1 playthrough is possible if playing on Insane difficulty through co-op from the very start.
- 0 – Missable Trophies
- 4 – Difficulty Related Trophies
- Difficulty Trophies stack
- 19 – Online Trophies
The majority of time spent here is going to be online. There are only a handful of miscellaneous single player Trophies to earn and the rest are multiplayer.
Single Player
If you’re looking to maximize your time with the single player Trophies, you can play on Insane difficulty through co-op while making sure to find all of the Cog Tags. Doing so will earn all of the story related, co-op, difficulty and collectible Trophies in one playthrough. If you happen to miss any of the miscellaneous Trophies or collectibles, you can earn them via chapter select.
Gears of War: Reloaded Cog Tag Guide
Multiplayer
With single player taken care of, the rest of the list will require you to play online. The big thing here is getting 10,000 kills. The majority of the multiplayer list will come naturally as you work toward getting 10,000 kills. Most of the Trophies cannot be boosted privately, but there is a boosting method for some of them.
2v2 Gnasher Execution boosting method:
- 2 players with 2 controllers each. Each player needs to do split screen
- Matchmake and try to find each other
- Boost whatever Trophy you’re currently working on
- Repeat the process
Otherwise, doing everything online without a friend to boost with will increase the time and difficulty of earning this Platinum.
Miscellaneous / Collectible Trophies
Zen and the Art of Reloading
Performed 25 perfect active reloads
Each time you reload, there will be a line that moves across a bar. You need to to stop that line in the white section of the bar by pressing reload again. You need to stop the line in the solid white section of the bar in order to get a “perfect” reload. Doing this 5 times in a row will also earn you the “Zen and the Art Part 2” Trophy. It may take some practice to get the timing down, but you can reload your checkpoint if want to get any shot ammo back if you’re trying get all 5 done at once.
Zen and the Art Part 2
Performed 5 perfect active reloads in a row
See the “Zen and the Art of Reloading” Trophy above for more details.
Clusterluck
Killed 3 enemies at once 10 different times
This can be farmed in Act I – Chapter 2 – Trial By Fire. Playing on Casual difficulty will make this easier. Progress through the chapter until you go up the stairs at the beginning of the chapter. Right after the cutscene at the top of the stairs, there will be 3 enemies that spawn ahead of you. An Emergence hole will open up in the back right corner behind the enemies that are already there. Move forward and the hole will spawn. Get a grenade ready and throw it as the hole opens. Three enemies climb out of the hole at the same time. You can reload the checkpoint to farm this Trophy right here.
G-reader
Read one full comic
The comics in the game are completed by finding all of the Cog Tags. After you’ve found all 33, you can go to the Main Menu > War Journal > Cog Tags. From there, select a comic and tab through the pages until you reach the end.
Whack-A-Grub
Closed all 4 e-holes around the fountain in Fish in a Barrel without any Locust fully emerging
This is earned in Act I – Chapter 3 – Fish In A Barrel. Playing on Casual difficulty will make this easier. When you reach the fountain, Emergence holes will begin to open one by one. As one opens, a prompt will come on screen. You can press
and you’ll look at where the next hole is opening. Throw a grenade at the opening hole as quickly as you can.
If you’re struggling with this, it can be done in co-op as well. Having another player to cover half of the area can make things easier here.
Time to Remember
Recovered 11 COG tags
See the “For the Fallen” Trophy below for more details.
Honor-Bound
Recovered 22 COG tags
See the “For the Fallen” Trophy below for more details.
Recovered all 33 COG tags
Cog Tags are collectibles that are found through out the game.
Most of them are pretty easily found as the game is linear. There are sections of the game where you will and your squad will need to split up. You get to choose what path to go down. There are no collectibles found during those sections. You do not have to worry about picking the “wrong” path when going for the Tags. As soon as they are picked up, they are saved as collected.
If you happen to miss any of them, you can load up the Act as well as the required chapter and collect whichever one(s) was missed.
When you see the Crimson Omen logo painted in the environment, that means there is a Tag very close by, so keep an eye out for those.

- You can use the Gears of War: Reloaded Cog Tag Collectible guide to help find them all.
Mercenary
Completed all acts on Casual Difficulty
See the “Commando” Trophy below for more details.
Classic Mercenary
Completed all acts on Normal Difficulty
See the “Commando” Trophy below for more details.
Soldier
Completed all acts on Hardcore Difficulty
See the “Commando” Trophy below for more details.
Commando
Completed all acts on Insane Difficulty
Insane is the hardest difficulty in the game. You’ll take more damage and enemies will be harder to kill. Insane will be unlocked from the very beginning so you can play through it right away, if you’d like. You can also complete the Acts out of order via chapter select on Insane.
There is also a way to make things easier here thanks to split screen co-op. Make sure the account that needs the Trophy is set to Insane. Then, have player 2 set their difficulty to Casual. Have player 2 run through the chapters clearing out enemies while player 1 hangs back and stays out of danger. You don’t need another person for this, just another controller. You can play both parts and get through it.
Co-Op Trophies
Dom-curious
Completed 1 co-op chapter in co-op
See the “I Can’t Quit You Dom” Trophy below for more details.
Domination
Completed 10 different chapters in co-op
See the “I Can’t Quit You Dom” Trophy below for more details.
I Can’t Quit You Dom
Completed all acts in co-op
You’ll need to beat all 6 Acts while playing in co-op. This can be done on any difficulty and can be online or split screen.
Brothers To The End
Defeated General RAAM in co-op on Insane without either player being DBNO
General RAAM is the final boss in the game. You will need to beat him on Insane difficulty in co-op without both players going down. This can be done online or local split screen. If one player goes down, you can reload the checkpoint to try again. If both players go down at the same time, you will need to reload the chapter. Just the chapter, not the whole Act.
Make sure that one player has the Torque Bow and the other player has the Longshot. You can get both in the train car before the fight. You also want to have 4 grenades each. Get behind cover as soon as the fight begins. It is possible to kill him where you start the fight before he reaches you. Use the Bow to get the Kryll off of him. As soon as he’s vulnerable, deal as much damage as you can to him. Spam him with grenades when he is close enough and vulnerable. Perfect reloads are going to be key in getting through this fight.
Multiplayer Trophies

In order to earn this, you’re going to need to tag an opposing player and then a teammate needs to kill them while the tag is still active on the opposing player. You can even get tags on enemies that are in the middle of being killed via melee.
This cannot be boosted in private matches.
You can however use the 2v2 Gnasher Execution boosting method:
- 2 players with 2 controllers each. Each player needs to do split screen
- Matchmake and try to find each other
- Use the main account to tag enemies and then use other controller to kill them while tagged.
- Repeat the process

Complete 100 online ring-based matches, capturing 3 objectives each time
For this, you just need to complete the match. Winning or losing does not matter here. The thing that does matter, is capturing 3 objectives. As long as you’ve captured 3 objectives, it’ll count if the match finishes. It has to be you that gets the capture in order to count.
The ring-based matches are:
- Annex
- Blitz
- King of the Hill
Nub Pwn3r
Win 20 online ring-based rounds by shutting out the opposing team
For this, King of the Hill and Blitz are both only 1 round. So, if your team can hold the zone without letting the other team score, that will count toward this Trophy. The other team cannot score a single point during the match.

Handyman
Killed an enemy with every weapon in Versus
There are 10 weapons in Versus and you need at least 1 kill with each of them. Just downing any enemy with a weapon is not enough. You need to finish them off and get the kill with it. You can actually use that to an advantage if you are struggling with a weapon. You can down an enemy with one weapon and then switch to a different weapon to finish them off and get the kill. The weapon used to finish them off will get credited with the kill. You also need to finish the match in order for the kills to be registered.
