Welcome to the Gears of War: Reloaded COG Tag guide!
There are only 33 COG Tags to collect throughout the game. Most of them are pretty easily found as the game is linear. There are sections of the game where you will and your squad will need to split up. You get to choose what path to go down. There are no collectibles found during those sections. You do not have to worry about picking the “wrong” path when going for the Tags. As soon as they are picked up, they are saved as collected.
If you happen to miss any of them, you can load up the Act as well as the required chapter and collect whichever one(s) was missed.
When you see the Crimson Omen logo painted in the environment, that means there is a Tag very close by, so keep an eye out for those.
Act 1 – Ashes
Cog Tag 1
This is found in the room after deciding to go to Combat or Training at the very beginning of the game. As soon as you enter the room, go to the very back to find the Cog Tag on the ground in front of the pile of debris.
Cog Tag 2
This is found in the next combat room. There will be a big blue banner hanging above the exit. When staring at the exit after killing the all of the enemies, this tag is found in the back left side of the room behind the big pile of rubble.
Cog Tag 3
For this next Tag, you will need to be quick. If you take too long, the gameplay section will end. Exit the previous combat room and go left up the nearby stairs. At the top of the stairs, go left to find these on the ground.
Trial By Fire
Cog Tag 4
This is in the combat area after going up the stairs at the beginning of the chapter. It will be on the ground behind cover in the middle of the area. Just to the right of the Gears logo.
Cog Tag 5
This is found inside of the firs building you enter during the chapter. It will be in the back left corner of the room on the ground. Two Emergence holes will open up in the this room. The second Emergence hole will open right next to this Cog Tag. It will also be just to the left of the exit.
Fish in a Barrel
Cog Tag 6
This is found in the area with the fountain where the Emergence holes open up. It is on the ground near the 2 blocked off staircases and the big cog on the wall to the left.
Knock Knock
Cog Tag 7
This is found outside of the House of Sovereigns to the left of the white van parked on the stairs.
Hammer
Cog Tag 8
This is found in the hallway where you have to defend Jack while it cuts through a door. After killing all of the enemies, head down the hallway toward the boarded up window to find this on the right side.
Cog Tag 9
This is found just to the right of Rojas’ body. You’ll come across it as part of the story.
China Shop
Cog Tag 10
As soon as you get control at the beginning of the chapter, turn around and follow the short hallway. This will be on the right of that hallway at the end.
Cog Tag 11
While luring the Berserker, you’ll need to get it to smash through 3 doors. This is found in the room with the third door that needs to be smashed. It is to the left of the door.
Cog Tag 12
After luring the Berserker outside, go to the left. Follow the left wall to the red gear icon on the wall. This is just behind the that red gear icon.
