Before getting started, Mouthwashing is story based experience, If you want to avoid spoilers, playthrough the game before consulting the guide below. There are spoilers below. The game is not very long, so adding a playthrough on for the story, will not add a lot of time here. The game is short. If you don’t care about spoilers, carry on!
Step 1 – Playthrough The Story + Chapter Specific Trophies
First up, you’re going to want to play through the game’s story. The story moves quick and can be completed very quickly. You’re looking at about 3 to 4 hours. As the story moves from chapter to chapter, there will be trophies that can be earned along the way. These are quick misc/collectible trophies. The collectibles are ID cards and you only need a few of them. There is a trophy attached to each one of them. There is one trophy that will can be tricky to get, “Trickshot.”
Step 2 – Any Clean Up
It is possible to earn all of the trophies in a single playthrough, but if you didn’t get them all, you can quickly run through the game again to clean up anything you’ve missed. Unlike in the PC version, there is no developer console on the PS5 version of the game. So you cannot access chapter select. If you missed something, you’ll need to play through again.

Anya
Find Anya’s employee card

- Chapter 1 / 0 Days Before the Crash
After getting up from the pilot’s chair at the beginning of the game, open the Utility closet to find this hanging on the left side of the closet near the Danger sign.
Curly
Find Curly’s employee card
MISSABLE
- Chapter 19 / 6 Hours Until Judgement
When you get control at the beginning of the chapter, go to the Utility room to find this card on the floor next to the pod that the light is pointing to. If you haven’t earned the Taking Notes trophy yet, do not go into the Cockpit during this chapter.
Daisuke
Find Daisuke’s employee card
MISSABLE
- Chapter 9 / 3 Months After the Crash
As soon as you get up, go over to the small table in the lounge area of the same room to find this card. It’s on the table next to the gameboard.
Jimmy
Find Jimmy’s employee card
MISSABLE
- Chapter 16 / 5 Months After the Crash
After speaking to Daisuke at the beginning of the chapter, go into the lounge to find this card in a hat behind a fallen pony express statue near the area where the couches and chairs are. The hat is up against the back short wall that separates the couch area from the rest of the lounge.
Swansea
Find Swansea’s employee card
MISSABLE
- Chapter 8 / 4 Months After the Crash
Head to the lounge where the party was earlier. Once there, head over to the the vending machines in the back corner. Swansea’s card can be found in the food vending machine.
Sock Puppet
Repeatedly open and close Curly’s mouth
MISSABLE
- Chapter 2 / 2 Months After the Crash
After getting up from the seat at the beginning of the chapter, go to Medical. Once there, interact with Curly who is the patient in Medical. Interact with him and then interact with his chin. Once zoomed in, keep interacting with his chin to open and shut his mouth. Keep doing that until this trophy pops. Do not go to the Cockpit to get the Code Scanner, otherwise the story will advance. There are other opportunities to earn this trophy later on in the game if you didn’t get it during the 2 Months After The Crash section.
Friendly Introduction
Find Curly hiding next to the TV
MISSABLE
- Chapter 4 / 7 Days Before the Crash
After reading the note from the printer, you’ll be in a warehouse. Walk toward the TV and then go to the left. You should see yellow and black tape on the ground shortly left of the TV. Look at the wall of boxes behind the TV where that yellow and black tape leads. You should see Curly behind the wall of boxes staring at you. Walk up to the boxes as close as you can and zoom in on Curly by pressing 
. He’ll disappear and the trophy will pop.
Taking Notes
Open the Pony Express Protection Kit™ without returning to Cockpit
MISSABLE
- Chapter 19 / 6 Hours Until Judgement
Do not go into the Cockpit during this chapter. Instead, go to Medical. The Pony Express Protection Kit is found in a drawer that is sticking out of the bed that Curly is laying on. Enter the code, 739, to open the case.
Cheater
Open the door to Cargo before acquiring the Code Scanner
MISSABLE
- Chapter 2 / 2 Months After the Crash
After getting up from the seat at the beginning of the chapter, you can go to Cargo. Do not go to the Cockpit to grab the Code Scanner. Go down to Cargo and there is a door on the left that has a keypad. Enter the code, 4517 to open the door and unlock the trophy.
Wasteful
Mix the Pony Express Specialty Mocktail™ at Curly’s birthday party
MISSABLE
- Chapter 7 / 6 Days Before The Crash
When you enter the party, go over to the right and enter the small kitchen area. Interact with the recipe book on the wall and get the Drink Recipe. Do not make the cake yet. Go over to the machine left of the sink and get the materials.
- Water – 3142
- Tonic – 1324
Once you have those, combine them in the machine on the counter to the left of the recipe book. This will create the Plain Mocktail. Take that and then input the code for the Sweetener.
- Sweetner – 2341
Combine the Plain Mocktail and the Sweetener in the same machine you used for the water and tonic to pop the trophy.
The Good Ending
Get killed by Swansea 10 times in the graveyard

- Bizarro Chapter 1 / Graveyard
After shooting Swansea in the chair, you’ll be taken to a graveyard. While there, step outside and face a wall. Wait for Swansea to kill you. You need to let him kill you 10 times. He will only attack you when your back is turned and you are not looking in the direction he is coming from.
Trickshot
Shoot Swansea in the graveyard right after spinning 360 degrees
MISSABLE
- Bizarro Chapter 1 / Graveyard
While in the Graveyard, Swansea will be running after you with the axe. You’ll have a gun and will need to shoot him three times in order to advance the story. In order to earn this trophy, you’re going to need to spin in a circle 360 degrees and then shoot Swansea. He will only charge you from a direction you are not looking at. So you’re going to want to find a corner or hallway where there are only two paths to cut down his options. Aim down the sights of the gun and then start spinning in a slow circle. Keep spinning until the screen starts to get fuzzy. The fuzzier it gets, the closer he is to you. So when you see that, fire the gun as you turn to face the path he’s coming from. I found that spinning slowly was better for your aim and control. This is tricky, so it will take a few tries to get him. Luckily, you won’t die. You can just keep trying until you hit him.
The Name Of The Game
Use a bottle of Mouthwash

- Chapter 8 / 4 Months After the Crash
After exiting the room you start in, you’ll come across Daisuke on the floor. Speak with him and he’ll give you the bottle of mouthwash. Once you have it, open your inventory, select the mouthwash and then use it to pop the trophy.
Yimpy
Lock eyes with Yimpy for 10 seconds
MISSABLE
- Chapter 4 / 7 Days Before the Crash
After speaking with Anya at the very beginning, get up and go to the corkboard on the wall next to her. Look up at the sticky note in the top right that says, Yimpy. Look at it and don’t move until the trophy pops.
