  • 0 – Difficulty Related Trophy
  • 0 – Online Multiplayer Trophies

Free Lanes is a free DLC added to Starfield along side the PlayStation 5 release of the game, as well as the Terran Armada DLC. This DLC adds a variety of new Trophies to the game. Unfortunately, it adds several missable Trophies as well as everyone’s favorite, RNG Trophies. While you’re travelling in Cruise Mode in your ship, you need to be on the lookout for two ships. One will ask you a series of riddles. The other will be an old woman. You’ll need to answer the three riddles correctly for a missable Trophy, and eat the food offered to you from the old woman for another missable Trophy. These ships have randomized spawns, so be aware of them and look for them as you play.

The other thing you need to keep an eye out for are the action figures. There are 54 of them, 27 opened and 27 unopened. These collectibles do not have set locations. They spawn randomly on bodies and containers. Make sure you are looting everything possible in order to search for these.

One other interesting Trophy that was added will take place near the very end of the main story. That would be, “Quantum Hoarder.” This will task you with building a box that you can store some of your gear in in order to transfer it over to your New Game + playthrough. Speaking of the base game story, you need to make sure that Sarah Morgan has survived. Otherwise, you will not be able to earn the, “Half the Battle,” Trophy.

As for the remaining two missable Trophies, “Stay of Execution,” and “Master of Magnetism,” they both take place during the side mission, “Help Wanted.”

 Half the Battle

MISSABLE

Let Sarah Morgan know about her action figure

Sarah Morgan action figures can be found randomly while looting containers and bodies. However, there is one action figure that has a set spawn location. It is in the Anchorpoint (main story location). Once there, take a right at the Bar sign and follow the hallway down to the Engineering Bay. As soon as you enter the Engineering Bay, go left and follow the catwalk to the end. There will be a crate you can loot at the end. Jump up onto the pipes from here and look for a vent that you can open on the wall. Open the vent and go inside to find the action figure. Once you have it, go and talk to Sarah. Choose the dialogue option related to the action figure.

This is missable because it is possible that Sarah Morgan can die in the base game. If she died in your game, you cannot earn this Trophy. Also, taking the Sarah Morgan action figure from the vent will be counted as stealing. So that figure will be marked as contraband when you are scanned before landing in a city. You will need to have stored it in a shielded cargo hold on your ship. Or, you can just take her with you to find the action figure and then show her right away. That way, you don’t have hide contraband.

 Fully Equipped

Find a spaceship equipment module schematic and install an equipment module on your ship

Spaceship equipment module schematics are found by destroying enemy ships. They are random drops, but you can increase your chances of finding one by destroying ships during Incursion events. These are new events that have been added to the game in the Terran Armada DLC. You’ll need to do 30 of those events in order to complete the Terran Armada DLC, so you will likely find at least one of these by earning the Incursion based Trophies from the Terran Armada Trophy list.

Once you have one, go to a ship services merchant and modify your ship. This has to be done to your home ship. Modify Your Ship > Ship Builder > move the cursor off of your ship and then press > Add. Scroll through your available inventory and find whichever upgrade schematic(s) you’ve found. Add one to your ship and then back out of the ship builder. Save changes and then the Trophy should pop.

 Top Tier

Apply a Rank 4 Legendary Effect to a piece of your equipment

Legendary Effects are a new customizable option added to your gear. You can add the Legendary Effects to your gear at workbenches. Each level will cost money and X-Tech. X-Tech is a new material added to the game that you can find by looting bodies and containers. Make sure to keep an eye out for X-Tech as you progress through the game and DLC. You’ll likely find a lot of it during the main story quests of the Terran Armada DLC as long as you are actively keeping an eye out for it.

Once you have enough money and X-Tech, go to a workbench, select a piece of gear and equip effects in each of the four Legendary Rank slots. Funny enough, I had ranks 1 through 3 equipped. I went into rank 4 without enough money to buy a component. I selected, “None,” and the Trophy popped. It seems that the game counted equipping, “None,” as an option. It’s worth giving it a try, but this is probably an oversight that will be patched eventually.

Just Like Grandma Used to Make

Eat the questionable food offered by a spacefaring Old Woman

MISSABLE

This is earned from a random encounter. You’ll need to fly through the Algorab system while in Cruise Mode. Scan the ships that spawn around you and keep an eye out for, “Old Woman.” When you see that ship, fly to her and board her ship. Speak with her and accept her food and eat it to pop this Trophy. The RNG for this is a pain. You must eat her food when you encounter her, otherwise she will be gone and you cannot earn the Trophy.

  • Make a manual save before traveling through Algorab.
  • Travel through the system in Cruise Mode while scanning for her ship.
  • Fast travel out and then back to the system to reset ship spawns

 They’re Not Toys!

Collect all Action Figures

There are 54 different action figures to find. There are two versions of each one. A sealed, and unsealed version of each action figure. Unfortunately, their locations are random. You will need to search every container and body as you make your way through marked locations, Incursions, combat encounters and quests. It seems that the chances of them spawning are higher in the containers that are found at the very end of an activity, (missions, marked locations, etc.). You can make a save before entering a marked location, run straight to the container at the end of the location, check to see if an action figure is inside. Reload your save and try again if not. Search through every container and body that you come across while playing in order to find all of these. This Trophy is a complete RNG grind.

 Contract Killer

Kill 10 targets for the Arbitrator

The Arbitrator is found on the Anchorpoint (main story location in Terran Armada) sitting in the bar area. Speak to him and accept the job that he offers. Complete the job he gives you by killing the target. Return him and talk to him again to accept the next target. If he doesn’t have a job available, sit/sleep to wait for 72 hours and then speak to him again. You have to do this until you have killed 10 of his targets. You have to kill the targets in order for them to count toward this. You cannot lie to the Arbitrator about killing the targets.

 Stay of Execution

Stop Bernhard from killing Caruso

MISSABLE

Before starting on the quest for this Trophy, you should note that the, “Master of Magnetism,” Trophy below takes place during the same quest as this and it is missable. After speaking to Ivica, agree to use the magnet to kill the robot.

In order to earn this, you’re going to have to speak to Bernhard at Anchorpoint (main story location in Terran Armada) sitting in the bar area. Speak to him to get the, “Help Wanted,” mission. During the mission, make sure to not attack or kill Caruso. You need to agree to his deal when you first encounter him. Make your way through the quest until you are tasked with finding the real thief in order to clear Yeats.

  • After finding the evidence in the dumpster, speak to Grace Kim
  • Tell her you don’t think Yeats did it.
  • Tell her, “You’re covering for someone.
  • Ask her, “What are you proposing?”
  • Choose to agree to help hide that she is the thief. Then, lie to the guard about Grace being involved.
  • Agree to be the deciding vote in the event of a tie.
  • When given the optional objective to speak to the people of New Babylon, tell them they need to exonerate Caruso. You can also tell Caspian to rig the vote in Caruso’s favor. There might not be objective markers on everyone at New Babylon, so make sure you thoroughly check the town. If the optional objective is still active, that means there are still characters you need to speak to. Make sure you get them all.
  • Progress the quest until it’s time to vote. Interact with the ballot box and vote to exonerate Caruso.

As soon as Caruso is exonerated, Bernhard will immediately leave to walk over to Caruso’s cell. You may want to make a save just in case you’re too late. As soon as he starts talking to Caruso, you have to quickly kill Bernhard before he can kill Caruso. Tell Zena Bernhard was about to kill Caruso. The Trophy will pop after the mission wraps up.

 Master of Magnetism

Use a magnet to destroy the robot for Ivica in New Babylon

MISSABLE

This Trophy is earned during the, “Help Wanted,” quest. This is the same quest as the above, “Stay of Execution,” Trophy. During the quest, you’ll need to speak to Ivica after you’ve spoken to Caruso for the first time. You will need to agree to help destroy the robot. After you power the robot, you’ll be given the optional objective, “Use The Magnet To Permanently Disable The Robot.” You need to complete that objective in order to earn this Trophy. Go over to the red button near where you powered the robot and press it to earn the Trophy.

 Riddle Management

Prevent any deaths by answering riddles

MISSABLE

Just like with, “Just Like Grandma Used To Make,” this Trophy is earned from a random ship encounter that appears while traveling in Cruise Mode. Keep an eye out for ship icons while in Cruise Mode. When you see one, travel toward it. If it’s the right ship, you’ll be hailed by a ship that has hostages on it. In order to earn this Trophy, you’re going to have to answer three riddles correctly. The answers are listed below.

  • What has an eye but cannot see? – A Needle
  • What goes to school but not to class? – A Schoolbus
  • What is light as a feather but nobody can hold onto it for very long? – A Breath

If you get the answers wrong, or skip the encounter, the Trophy will be missed.

 Quantum Hoarder

Retrieve your inventory from another universe

This Trophy is earned by bringing some of your gear from one playthrough and retrieving it in New Game +. Toward the end of the story, a side quest called, “Before You Go: Quantum Entanglement Device, ” will trigger near the end of the story. Track this quest and build the Quantum Entanglement Device.

  • Quantum Essence: 10
  • Adaptive Frame: 1
  • Isocentered Magnet: 1
  • Tau Grade Rheostat: 1

Store some gear in the device. Then, you will need to complete the final main mission, “One Giant Leap.” This Trophy should pop during the credits upon beating the game.
