Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac is here and it has an incredibly easy Platinum to earn. Nothing here is missable and everything can be done in a single playthrough. If you do happen to miss anything, it can quickly and easily be cleaned up post game via chapter select.

Step 1 – Main Story + Collectibles + Misc Trophies

This game is very linear and not very long. You’ll obviously need to complete the story, but everything can be completed your first time through. As you play through the story, pick up collectibles and knock out the chapter specific trophies. The maps are not big and can easily be explored as there is really nowhere else to go. Each of the collectibles will basically guide you to them.

When you’re near a Whiskey Bottle, a scent trail will appear that you can follow to the bottle. Nightmare Doors will spawn basically on the main path. A big purple root will spawn out of the ground and lead you right to the door. As for the Material Crates, these will emit a big blue pulse out that you can very easily see when you are somewhat near the a crate. Collectibles can be made even easier to find by utilizing an accessibility feature. Go to the Pause Menu > Settings> Visuals > Collectibles and Interacts Shader. You can turn that on and the game will highlight collectibles on screen for you to very easily find.

You can find the locations of every collectible and misc trophy in the Marvel’s Wolverine Collectible Guide.

The only thing not tracked in this guide are the XP Caches. These are containers that will give you XP when you damage them. You’ll need to destroy at least 100 of them for a trophy. But don’t worry, there are well over 100 of these to find. They are usually out in the open and in combat sections. The maps are pretty linear and contained, so searching these out will not take that much time.

The following missions will have mission specific trophies for you to keep an eye out for:

Step 2 – Final Nightmare Trial

After the the story, the final Nightmare Trial will be unlocked. You need to earn at least a bronze score on every Nightmare Trial, including this final one as well. So that’ll be a total of 15 Nightmare Trials are needed to complete with a bronze. After you’ve finished the final one, you’ll need to leave the cabin and walk along a path for a bit to unlock the hidden memory.

Step 3 – Clean Up

If there is anything you haven’t finished yet, you’ll need to go through and clean up whatever else you may need. This can be done very easily via chapter select from the cabin.

Shortly after the beginning of the mission, there will be a combat encounter where enemies are using portals to spawn in. You’ll need to destroy these portals in order to complete the section. You can find the locations of every Material Crate in the Marvel’s Wolverine Collectible Guide.

Secondary Mutations

In order to reach level 10, you’re going to need to complete Nightmare Doors. The higher your score in a Nightmare Trial, the more AP you’ll get for it. You will also need to find Whiskey Bottles. Finding and completing those two collectible types will raise your Adaptation level.

You can find the locations of every Nightmare Door and Whiskey Bottle in the Marvel’s Wolverine Collectible Guide.

Crate Collector

Collect all Material Crates

Material Crates are crates that will give you 50 materials. These materials are needed for crafting suits. The Material Crates will emit a big blue pulse out that you can very easily see when you are somewhat near the a crate. There are 68 of them across the game.

More holes will be opened up in the sides and back of the plane as the mission goes on.

Cut Just As Deep

Kill 100 enemies with the Helix Claws

The Helix Claws will be automatically unlocked during the story. They become available during the mission, Death Comes to Death. This will be an ability that you can use by pressing . Parry Perfected

Parry 500 times

To parry, you just need to press before you are hit by a melee attack. 500 might seem like a high number to pull off, but these will come quickly as long as you’re parrying when needed. There are many melee focused enemies and the window to parry is pretty forgiving. You don’t need to be that precise to pull off a parry in this game. These can be farmed via chapter select, or during nightmare trials if you do not get it by the end of the story. If you’re struggling with the parry window, you can equip the Extended Parry Adaptation to give yourself a bigger window to hit successful parries.

Saturn Slam

Drop Saturn onto The Hand in Japan

  • Mission – We Were Wrong
    • Find the Helix Engine

As you progress through the mission, you’ll eventually climb into a planetarium. Once inside, go left. Stealth kill the enemy on the left side and then attack the rope at the end of the catwalk to drop the Saturn model down on the enemies below.

Waking Nightmare

Discover a Nightmare Door “in the wild”

See the, “Pathways of the Mind,” trophy below for more details.

Pathways of the Mind

Discover all Nightmare Doors

There are 14 Nightmare Doors to find and none of them are hidden very well. As you get close to these, a big purple root will spawn from the ground and lead you right to the door. These doors will lead to Nightmare Trials which are short traversal or combat challenges. You can also find the locations of every Nightmare Door in the Marvel’s Wolverine Collectible Guide.

Adamantium Dreams

Achieve Adamantium on any Nightmare Trial

Nightmare Trials are short traversal or combat challenges that have specific conditions that need to be met in order to reach a score. The lowest you can get is bronze, and the highest is Adamantium.  So for this trophy, you’ll need to get Adamantium on one Nightmare Trial. You only need to do one of them and it can be any one. The Nightmare Trials are not very difficult and you can lower the game’s difficulty to make the combat trials incredibly easy.

Repressed Memories

Unlock the hidden memory in Nightmare Trials

The hidden memory is unlocked by getting at least a bronze score on all 15 Nightmare Trials. There are 14 Nightmare Trials during the main story and the final one will be unlocked after beating the story. So, you’ll need to play that final trial after the story. It is accessible from the cabin. Which is where you will be when the game is over and the credits have rolled. As previously mentioned, you only need to get at least a bronze score on them all. Bronze is the lowest score you can get in the trials. You can also find the locations of every Nightmare Door in the Marvel’s Wolverine Collectible Guide.

Spiral Cut

Kill 75 enemies with Tornado Spin

Tornado Spin as an ability you can use and it will be automatically unlocked as you progress through the main story. When it is unlocked, it will be bound to + . After using it, it will be on a cooldown. All you need to do here is kill enemies with this attack. Use it frequently as 75 is not that many enemies in this game. It can attack enemies in a radius, so use this when multiple enemies are surrounding you to get multiple kills at a time with it.

Blindsided

Stealth kill 10 enemies blinded by Jean

This is something that will not become available until later on in the story. During the mission, We Were Wrong, Jean will intro duce you to an ability that will help you. When you sneak up on enemies, there will be an prompt above them. Press it and Jean will blind them. You need to stealth kill them while they are blinded. If you want to get this out of the way, you can farm it quickly by performing the blinded stealth kill, and then restarting the checkpoint.

Harmer’s Market

Destroy all vendor stalls during the Sabretooth boss fight

  • Mission – Red Right Hand

During the fight with Sabretooth, you need to destroy every vendor stall in the area. It doesn’t have to be you that destroys them. If you can’t get some space from Victor, just keep dodging and dodge near the vendor stalls. Victor will destroy them as he swings at you. Just don’t finish the first half of the fight until every stall is destroyed and the trophy has popped. At about half health, the fight will move to a different area.

Shish Kebab

Impale an enemy on an environmental hazard

  • Mission – The One That Got Away
    • Track the red-haired mutant

During this mission, there are multiple enemy encounters where there will be a forklift with its forks raised. In order to get this trophy, all you have to do is kite an enemy so that they are standing in front of the forklift, then hold and release to kick them into the forks which will impale them. Keep an eye out for the forklifts when in combat. You only need to do it one time.

Greased

Read Callisto’s journal in her Vancouver garage

  • Mission – The One That Got Away
    • Track the red-haired mutant

This will come shortly after sliding down the tree from jumping from the roof at the beginning of the mission. Follow the scent trail through the next area and it will lead you to a breakable wooden fence with yellow spray paint on it. Punch the fence to knock it over and enter the room. The diary is on the table to the right. Interact with it to read it. Once you back out of it, the trophy will pop.

Recycled

“Defeat” a Reaver using molten metal

  • Mission – Raise Some Hell
    • Track the captured mutants

As you work through this mission, you’ll eventually enter the refinery with enemies stationed above you on higher walkways. Stay on the ground floor and run straight to the back where there the molten metal is. You’ll be seen by the enemies, so they’ll jump down and fight you right in front of the molten metal. In order to earn this trophy, you need to hold and release to kick them into the pit of molten metal. This needs to be done against the cyborg like enemies. There will be one that has the electric shield arms. You can kick him into the molten metal to earn the trophy.
