Welcome to the Trophy and Achievement guide for Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2! There are seven new Trophies or Achievements to earn and this list is very similar to the previous DLC and base game. In my opinion, Part 2 is much easier than Part 1. So, there shouldn’t be anything too difficult gameplay or Trophy/Achievement wise. Everything here can be completed in a single playthrough and on any difficulty you’d like.
There is another Trophy/Achievement for completing the DLC on Extra Life mode. As mentioned earlier, I found Part 2 easier than Part 1. There are a couple combat areas that can get a little hectic, but nothing overly difficult. Extra Life is just a mode. It’s not a difficulty. You can play Extra Life on “I’m Too Young To Die” if you need or want to. You can also make back up saves and send them to a Cloud/USB stick/external hard drive if you need to.
There are some collectibles that you’ll need to find, but they are not really that far off the story path. There are only 10 Codex pages to find and 11 Extra Lives. Only five lives are needed for the Trophy/Achievement, but you’re better off just picking them all up.
Complete World Spear (Ancient Gods 2)
This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement. This will pop upon completion of the first chapter.
Cross the Threshold
Complete Reclaimed Earth (Ancient Gods 2)
This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement. This will pop upon completion of the second chapter.
Siege the Day
Complete Immora (Ancient Gods 2)
This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement. This will pop upon completion of the third chapter.
Tougher Than Nails
Acquire all Sentinel Hammer upgrades (Ancient Gods 2)
Sentinel Hammer upgrades are acquired by completing Escalation Encounters. There are two rounds to Escalation Encounters, but you only have to complete the first round to progress and acquire a Hammer upgrade. You’ll have to complete these in order to progress the story, so this is basically an unmissable story Trophy and Achievement. There are only three of them. One per chapter.
Rest Your Weary Fists
Kill the Dark Lord (Ancient Gods 2)
This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement. This will pop after the credits. The credits can be skipped.
Live Die Reload
Complete Extra Life Mode with 5 Extra Lives in your Inventory (Ancient Gods 2)
This Extra Life Mode works the exact same way as in the base game and Part 1. You’ll have to collect extra lives throughout the chapters and hold on to at least five by the very end. If you run out of lives, that will be a game over forcing you start back over at the beginning. I found The Ancient Gods Part 2 to be easier than Part 1, but you can of course make a back up save to send to an external hard drive or Cloud just in case. Also, Extra Life Mode isn’t a difficulty. If you’re having trouble, or think you may have issues getting through it, you can set the difficulty to “I’m Too Young To Die” to make things easier on this mode.
Extra lives will show up on your map as green Doom Guy helmets when you are near them. You will begin the game with three lives. As you can see below, there are another 11 lives to be found. So, that’s 14 in total. Assuming you end up finding them all, you can die a maximum of 9 times while still being able to finish the DLC with five extra lives. The locations of the extra lives are shown in the videos below with the Codices. See “Critical Literature” for video guides.
This will pop after the credits. The credits can be skipped.
- World Spear – 4 Lives
- Reclaimed Earth – 3 Lives
- Immora – 4 Lives
Collect all physical Codex pages in a single save slot (Ancient Gods 2)
Codices are back in The Ancient Gods Part 2. There are 10 of them to collect and they really are not that difficult to find. Codex pages are glowing orange pages that can be found through out the three new chapters. These will be marked on your map as a ? until you get closer. Follow the videos below for a visual walk-through of each page.
- World Spear – 2
- Reclaimed Earth – 4
- Immora – 4
