Welcome to the Tunic Trophy & Achievement guide! This game can either be on the more difficult side, or incredibly easy. More on that below.
The majority of this list is made up of story based Trophies/Achievements and collectible type Trophies/Achievements. Everything can be earned in a single playthrough, although there are some missables to be aware of. There is no free roam after beating the final boss with a full instruction booklet. Beating the final boss without a full instruction booklet will give you an opportunity to go back collect the remaining pages. So, its free roam, but with a stipulation.
Technically speaking, everything outside of the story related Achievements can be missed if you complete the final boss with a completed instruction booklet. Completing the instruction booklet and then beating the final boss will lock you out of anything that you haven’t finished as the game will end and you will need to start a new game + to finish everything.
So when playing the game, make sure to complete everything before taking on the final boss with a completed instruction booklet.
Missables
Below are the missables that need to be called out.
One of the missables can be earned as soon as you start the game. “Bring it to the Wrong Fight” requires you to go collect a gun before you collect the sword. It’s not the end of the world if you miss this because it can be done right from the start of the game.
There will be a point in the story where you are forced into spirit form. You will need to interact with six Hero Graves in order to regain your body for “Your Body is Restored.” This can be missed as it is not required to do this. You could beat the final boss in spirit form and complete the game which would result in missing this.
When looting chests, you will come across money banks that look like little foxes. You will need to have 10 of these in your inventory at the same time in order to earn “Too Cute to Smash.” When you collect these, do not break them. Just leave them alone in your inventory.
You’re also going to need to beat the final boss without having a completed instruction booklet. Doing this will earn you “Game Over.” When you’re collecting the booklet pages, make sure to leave at least one of them uncollected. After beating the final boss, you can select “Retry” and then go pick your remaining pages.
Accessibility Options
Tunic comes with an Accessibility set of of options that include turning off damage and stamina use. You can turn these both on and still earn Achievements. From the main start menu, go to Options > Accessibility. Scroll down and turn on “No Fail Mode” and No Stamina Restrictions.” Again, using these does NOT disable Trophies/Achievements.
Day and Night
You can switch between day and night by standing near the bed in the old house and pressing /
. The old house is found in the main area underneath the telescope next to a small waterfall and fast travel pad.

A Stick!
Found a stick
This is will be the very first Trophy/Achievement that you should earn.
From the very start of the game, follow the path forward and go into the doorway to the left of the staircase with a mailbox. The stick is found through this door.
A Sword!
Found a sword
From the stick, head straight up the path and interact with the big golden doors. Complete the spirit section and then head back down to the shrine and go down the stairs to the left of the shrine. Pick up the key on ground and then backtrack to the locked golden door that is near the cave where you found the stick.
Go up the ladder next to the chest and continue heading up and you will eventually find an entrance to the East Forest. Go through the doorway and you’ll be in the East Belltower. Don’t go up the stairs. Instead, go past them and follow the path to the ladder that will take you down. Exit the hallway and you’ll be in the East Forest.
There are wooden signs in the forest that will point you in the direction you need to go, so follow those signs. They are marked as “Hero’s Grave” when you interact with them. They will lead you to the Path of the Hero’s Grave area.
Follow the path in here until you get to the enemy with the sword. Lure him to the left side of the gate so that his attack cuts away the grass blockage. This will allow you to go up the stairs and over the gate to a ladder. Go down the ladder and interact with the switch to open the gate. Go through the gate and you will finally have found the sword.
What Just Happened?
Was resurrected
In order to earn this, all you have to do is die.
You’ll be in a spirit form and will need to walk forward and interact with a bigger fox. The fox will revive you and you’ll be brought back to the game world.
If you’re playing with the No Fail option on, you will need to turn it off. You can do this midgame. You are not locked into that option for the entirety of your playthrough.
If you have it on, turn it off. Rest at a shrine and let an enemy kill you. You’ll be brought back to the shrine you rested at. Once the Trophy/Achievement pops, you can turn No Fail back on.
Ding
Rang the Eastern Bell
The Eastern Bell is found in the East Forest near the sword.
After entering the Eastern Forest from the Guardhouse 1, there will be a shrine at the top of the screen with a ladder behind it around a corner. Go up this ladder

All you have to do now is hit the bell.
Dong
Rang the Western Bell
Once you enter the Western Garden via the Dark Tomb, you’re going to want to follow the path down, across a bridge and then around a giant staircase.
Don’t go up the stairs, go across the wooden plank that acts a bridge.
Go left to the fallen fox statue and cross the water via the fallen pillar next to the head of the fox statue.
Continue straight under the bridge and around the building to find a Fox Shrine save point.
Take the bottom path and follow it until the center of it is blue. Follow this path and you will eventually come to an area with a fountain of water. Look for another fallen pillar that you can use to cross the water. The pillar is just below the fountain.
This will take you down into the water and will lead you to some stairs. Go up the stairs and then down the other side of the stairs which will take you across some wooden planks.
After the third plank, take the right turn and head down. Continue on this path until you’re under the bridge.
Once you’re under the bridge go right and down and you’ll be taken to a bigger open platform with a tree.
Go across the open platform and through a doorway on your left. Follow this path until you see a plank that leads up on top of the wall.
Go up and follow the path on top of the wall and it will lead you to yet another fallen pillar.
Continue on this path until you see a fallen bridge and a chest. Go up the bridge.
Take your first right on the bridge and you should see a purple strip on the ground.
Follow this purple light up. If you follow it down, there a is a Fox Shrine save point that you can use. You may want to use this shrine because a boss battle is quickly approaching.
Continue following the purple light until you see a ladder on your right.
Go up the ladder and continue on the path until you reach the Garden Knight boss battle.
After you’ve beaten the Garden Knight, take the path on the right side of the area.
Follow this path straight ahead and go up three ladders and you will finally have reached the Western Bell.
You Hear a Strange Hum
Engaged a strange device
This is something that you will have to do during the story, but there are big obelisk like structures found throughout the game. All you need to do is hold /
on them to interact with them.
The structure will light up and then sink down into the ground.
Your Gift is Accepted

It will cost money to upgrade them as well. The price will depend on the attribute that is being upgraded.
Deep in The Forest
Found the red key
After ringing the Western Bell, enter the giant golden doors from earlier.
Keep going inside until you see the giant rotating hexagon. From the hexagon, take the doorway on the right and follow the path.
Go up the ladder and take the hidden path to the right if the top of the ladder. Follow this path around and you’ll eventually need to knock down a bridge.
Knock it down and continue on the path to an exit on the left. This exit will take you outside on a ledge. Go left on the ledge and there will be a ladder that is hidden from view that you can climb.
Climb it and then head right to a big staircase. Don’t go up the stairs. Continue around until you come to a ladder that you can climb down.
Climb down and go left. There is a hidden path that you can take that will lead to a control for a stone ladder.
Use the lever and then climb down the newly revealed stone ladder. Go right at the bottom of the ladder and follow the path straight across and you will enter the Forest Fortress.
In the Forest Fortress, go down the debris next to the bridge, go under the bridge and walk up the fallen stone to a Fox Shrine.
Go to the obelisk to the right of the Fox Shrine and activate it by holding /

Take a left at the wooden bridge to find another obelisk you can interact with.
Go through the now opened path where the obelisk and go down the ladder on the left and you will enter Beneath the Eastern Vault.
Destroy the crates at the bottom of the ladder to reveal a hidden pathway that you can enter. Go through the hole in the way and exit the next room at the top left side.
In the next room there will be another stack of crates, but these ones aren’t hiding anything. The path in here is pretty linear so follow it into another room.
The next room will have two exits, but they both lead to the same hallway. Take either of the exits to this hallway and look for a doorway in the hallway that his sort of highlighted by a greenish hue.
Follow the linear path and you’ll come out to a bigger room with some water. Go to the bottom side of the room and take the exit on the bottom right side of the room.
Continue on the linear hallway and you’ll eventually come to a room with a bridge over a waterfall.
Cross the bridge, enter the next room, cross a plank on the left and then exit this room in the top right corner.
Follow the linear path and you’ll come to a room with six exits. Take the exit at the top left of the room to advance the story path.
Exit the next room by going straight ahead.
The next room will have several enemies and another obelisk. Defeat the enemies and interact with the obelisk.
Go up the stairs and take the bottom left exit in the next room.
Go down the fallen debris to fight more enemies and interact with another obelisk.
Take the exit on the right side of the bottom floor into a room with a Fox Shrine save point.
Continue on and take the exit on the right into another big room with more enemies to fight.
Go straight across and take exit on the right side of the red rug on the floor.
In the next room, go up the stairs on the right and take the exit.
You’ll be back outside. Follow the path around to a lever that you can use to reveal a stone ladder. Take the exit to the right of the newly revealed stone ladder.
Follow the path in the next room down to another obelisk. Activate it and then interact with the nearby lever to reveal another stone ladder.
Go down the stone ladder and activate the next obelisk in the center of the room.
Exit the room by going through the big doorway that is flanked by two red flags.
Go up the stairs and activate the two obelisks and enter the golden doors.
Follow the linear path to a Fox Shrine save point and save your game. There is boss fight against the Siege Engine coming up.
Go up the stairs and defeat the Siege Engine. Pick up the pink item that it dropped and use that on the platform back down the stairs to reveal the Red Key.
High Above The Clouds
Found the green key
You’re going to need the grappling hook from Frog’s Domain before going for this key. If you already got the “Bring it to the Wrong Fight” Trophy/Achievement, you already have it.
For the green key, head to the save point in Ruined Atoll. That’s where the walk through for this Achievement is going to begin.
Go down the ladder on the right of the save point and head to the narrow path that crosses the water and go across it. Go up the ramp to left of the narrow path that you just crossed. Go all the way up to the top and activate the obelisk. There is also a key on the back side of this structure just below the obelisk.
From there, go back to the bottom and head right to the destroyed bridge. Go under the destroyed bridge and go behind a the chest that is over here. There is a hidden path that will take you behind and around the half destroyed room with the locked door. Follow it up all the way around to the other side.
Alternatively, if you found the key for this door you can open it and climb up the ladder inside. You can go to the right and drop the rope and climb down it.
Lower the bridge and then head to the right across the narrow non lit path. Watch out for the crab enemy over there as well.
Go behind the big structure and follow the hidden path. It will take you behind and around the entire thing. Follow it passed another ladder and across the bridge. Climb up the ladder and then up the next ladder to activate the obelisk at the top of the structure you just walked behind.
Go back down the two ladders that you just climbed up and head left across a small wooden bridge. Go straight across and lower another bridge.
Go across the newly lowered bridge and battle the the birds. After you beat them, you can unlock the big gate in this area.
Head down across the first wooden bridge and then take the immediate left. Follow the path across the bridge and go up the ramps to the top of another structure to find an obelisk.
Go back down the structure and across the bridge at the top near the ramp up the structure. Follow the bridges and you’ll come up against a spear wielding enemy.
Keep going past the spear enemy and use the grappling hook to go up another level right next to fallen debris. Continue up the ramp and then up the small staircase and activate the obelisk.
Head to the right to find a rope. Lower it and climb down it. Make your way back to the save point we started at and use it if you need to replenish anything.
With all four obelisks in the area lit up, go to the center of the area and hold /
at the statue to activate it. When the statue raises go into it and when it flashes, you’ll be taken to the clouds.
Use the grappling hook to cross the initial gap. Use it again to cross the gap on the right and climb the ladder to enter The Great Library.
Go to the back of the room and go up the stairs and then climb the ladder on the top left. Go around in the next area to reveal another ladder.
Go up the ladder and use the grappling hook from the top of the book pile.
Grab the manual pages in here by attacking the glass containers.
Climb the ladder on the left and activate the obelisk. This will activate the fast travel pad and the save point.
Climb the tall ladder on the right side of the area. You’ll be in a boss fight against The Librarian at the top.
It can be a pretty tough battle. The Librarian will be off the platform for most of the fight so, you’re going to need to use the gun if you got earlier or grappling hook to pull it closer.
Kill the smaller enemies that spawn to replenish your MP.
After the battle, the green key will spawn on the boss’ body.
Use the fast travel pad that we activated before the boss battle to return the beginning main area.
At The Root of The World
Found the blue key
Get to the top of the golden doors in the main area and go up the big staircase. While in here, you’ll need to activate the two obelisks, but if you followed the steps for “Bring it to the Wrong Fight” Achievement, those obelisks will already be activated.
At the top of the stairs, continue on the path and follow the stone gates and several staircases to a ladder.
Climb the ladder and take the hidden path behind the rocks in the top right corner.
Take the hidden staircase down and into The Quarry.
Go down the spiral staircase to a bridge. Head straight across and go down more stairs including another spiral staircase.
Go down the ramps past a large crystal that will drain your HP bar. You’ll get your HP bar fixed when resting at a Fox Shrine. There is also a gas mask card that can be found in The Quarry that will prevent the HP bar drain.
Continue down the ramps until you reach the railroad tracks. Go down the tracks and push over the bridge. Follow the path until you reach the two ladders on the left.
Drop down the second ladder and you can go behind the rocks that are near the ladder for a short hidden path that will take you down a ramp and into an area of what looks like soil.
Go straight across until you come to more railroad tracks. Follow the railroad tracks up all the way until you come to more that will go left. Follow this path left and you will eventually enter a room labeled as “???.”
Continue straight through to the left and you’ll come to a platform that will take you down.
Go down the stairs and follow the path. You’ll eventually come to a blue fire. This is just a different save point shrine that’ll replenish your items and health.
From the save point, take the right path to another platform. Continue down some stairs and you’ll eventually come to an area where multiple turrets will spawn. Kill the turrets and continue on.
Although this section might look like a big maze, it’s pretty linear for the most part.
You’ll come to a ladder. Go up the ladder and then down the ladder to the right. Work your way around and down this structure.
Continue going down the structure. Go inside about halfway down and follow the ladders all the way to the bottom.
You’ll eventually come to a highlighted square which is an elevator that’ll take you down even further.
Follow the path to the right and you’ll eventually come another save point.
Continue on the path and you’ll come to a four way intersection. There will also be a new type of enemy down here. They will drain your max HP when they hit you.
At the intersection, the story path is the one that goes to the right on the upper side of the area.
Follow the path defeating the enemies and turrets and you’ll eventually come to another save point shrine. You can save here to replenish your max HP.
Head down right to a platform with 2 tough enemies and an obelisk. Beat the enemies and activate the obelisk.
The path that goes down will continue the story. Follow it and it will lead you to a ladder.
Follow this path to the right to enter The Hidden Vault.
There will eventually be a save point shrine that is turned off. Go behind it and activate the obelisk to power it back on.
If you get back on the path going right, it’ll take you to a fight against the Boss Scavenger.
Defeat the boss to reveal the blue key.
Pick up the key and head back to the last save point shrine and enter the room behind the shrine.
What Now?
Completed key collection
Collect the red, blue and green keys.
Then, go back to the main area and go through the big golden doors. Place the three keys in the slots that surround the big floating hexagon.
This will pop after inserting all three of the keys.
You Feel a Tingling…
Earned the Cathedral’s Prize
Insert all three of the colored keys and then use a yellow fast travel pad to take you the blue room with the other fast travel pads.
Once you’re there, use the pad in the center and you’ll be transported into a fight against The Heir. This is a fight that you’re supposed to lose. Even with “No Fail” turned on, you will still lose.
After the fight, you’ll be transported back to the beginning of the map.
Head up the stairs and go straight. Take a right at the end of the bridge and follow the path around to an obelisk. Activate it and go down the ladder.
Follow the path and then to the upper right and you will enter The Old Burying Ground. Stay on pink lit path and you will eventually come to a Fox Shrine save point.
Go past the shrine to gate and the gate will open. There will be invisible enemies in this section of the map.
Go straight through the gate until you reach the obelisk. Activate it.
From the obelisk, go to straight across to the back of this area to find a ramp. Go up the ramps and then head to the left to cross a bridge.
Watch out for the bird enemies up here. Their attacks will drain your max HP.
Continue on your path until you come to another obelisk. Activate it to open the door to the Cathedral.
Enter The Cathedral.
You’ll see a Fox Shrine save point as soon as you enter.
Take the doorway to the right of the save point. Keep going right in the next rooms and then take the exit at the top of the last room.
Go up the stairs on the right side of the room and follow the path along the ledge that’ll take you to the left and into another room.
Go down the stairs, through the doorway and up the spiral staircase into the next room.
There’s going to be a lot of the bird type enemies that drain your max HP. You can fight them or avoid them by running past them. The exit will be on the right side of the room on the left wall.
The next area will have a chest and two doorways.
If you take the lower of the two doors, you can drop a ladder that will create shortcut to the Fox Shrine save point at the beginning of the Cathedral.
Take the higher of the two doors to advance the story.
Follow the path and destroy the lasers in the following hallway.
When you exit the hallway, you’ll find yourself in a big room with a pool of bright pink liquid in the center.
Go over the stairs to the right and enter the door way at the bottom of the screen to find another obelisk. Activate it.
Turn around and back track to the first room of The Cathedral where the the Fox Shrine save point is.
Once there, go to the platform that just came up when we activated the obelisk above. Hold /
on the platform to send it back down.
There will be another Fox Shrine save point and a ladder that goes down.
This ladder will take you down to an arena, so be prepared for a big fight.
You’re going to need to interact with each of the altars. Each time you interact with one, it will spawn enemies. The altar on the far right will spawn healing items as well.
Beat all of the enemies from all of the altars and you’ll be given the Cathedral’s Prize.
It will spawn in the middle of the room. Interact with it to pick it up.
This item will allow you to dash across gaps.
Your Body is Restored
Restored corporeal form
MISSABLE
This is missable because you do not have to restore yourself in order to beat the game. You could go take on the final boss in your spirit form which would leave this as missed.
After you collect all of the colored keys and place them in their designated spots inside the big golden doors, it’ll be time to fight The Heir for the first time.
You are going to lose that first battle as part of the story. After that battle, you’ll be in your spirit form.
In order to restore your corporeal form, you’re going to have to go to each of the six different Hero’s Graves. Hold /
at each of the Hero Graves and you’ll be transported an area where you can regain your full stats.
This cannot be done until after you’ve collected the Cathedral’s Prize which will give you the ability to dash across gaps.
- Hero’s Grave – Old Burying Ground
You can actually get this immediately after getting the Cathedral’s Prize, but here is the path from the beginning if you didn’t.

Stand to the right of the ladder and dash across to the other side.

When you get to the pink lit path, dash up and go under the spirit bridge.
The Hero Grave will be straight ahead.

- Hero’s Grave – West Garden
From the fast travel pad area, take the pad in the middle to the right.
From the fast travel pad, go to the left and down the ramp. Go past the glowing doorway and down the stairs.
At the bottom of the stairs, go left through an entry way where you will see three skulls on the ground.
Dash across the gap to the pink lit trail and chests.
Follow the pink lit trail to the left until you enter another area.
In this next area, there will be a huge pink mass covering most of the room. Dash across to the left platform where the chest is and exit.
Go down the stairs and follow the path until you reach a big golden object in the water. Dash to it and then dash to the walkway with the tree.

Head into the big entry way behind the shrine.
Go inside and go straight back. Watch out for the glowing pink puddles as they will drain your max HP.
Get to the staircases and you’ll notice that they are covered in the glowing liquid.
An enemy will spawn of the liquid you just passed. Defeat it to clear the liquid on the stairs and reveal the grave.
Game Over
Found your rightful place
MISSABLE
In order to earn this, you’re going to have to beat the final boss BEFORE collecting all of the instruction manual pages.
So, if you’re collecting the manual pages, leave at least one of them uncollected and beat the final boss. After you beat the boss while missing pages, you’ll be given an option to retry. You can choose “Retry,” go finish collecting the pages and then come back and beat the boss with all of the pages.
If you beat the final boss while having all of the pages, you will not get that “Retry” option. You would have to play through the game again from the start.
Thank You For Playing!
Completed the Manual
There are 55 instruction booklet pages to collect. These pages will offer tips and hints to help you on your journey.
Most of the pages will be on your direct path as you work to finish the story. The others will require a little exploring, but you’ll likely come across all of them as you comb through and complete each of the different areas.
You won’t be able to collect all of the pages until late in the game when you have unlocked the ability to dash across gaps.

Nothing Happened…
Made a wish
See “Well Done!” below for more details.
Well Done!
Made 15 wishes
You can make wishes at any of the wells found in the game.
Before you can make a wish, you will first need to have a gold coin in your inventory. These are different than the currency you get for defeating enemies.
There are only 15 coins in the game to find in total. These are found in chests and sold from shops. If you don’t use them, they will be carried over to New Game + as well.
Once you have them, go into your inventory and equip it. Stand next to a well and press whatever button you assigned the coin to and you’ll toss it in.
It does not matter what well you use and it does not have to be done all at the same time.

Bring it to the Wrong Fight
Found a certain weapon before getting a sword.
MISSABLE
This is missable, but it can be done at the very beginning of the game. So it’s not that much of a problem if it is missed. It may even benefit you to do it after already completing the game as you will then be a lot more familiar with the map.
The sword is the second weapon you’d normally get after picking up the stick, but for this, we need to ignore the sword. Do not pick it up. Instead we need to head to a couple of places in order to get this done.
It’s somewhat of a long trip and you’ll face a lot of stronger enemies on the way. You’re going to want to run past as many of them as you can or just simply turn on the No Fail option.
The gun is found in The Quarry, but you’re going to need to get the grappling hook first in order to reach The Quarry.
First, go get the stick near the beginning of the game.
Whoops
Froze yourself
All you have to do here is equip an Ice Bomb, throw it and then be in the explosion radius. The Ice Bomb will freeze you if you are close enough to it when it explodes.
