Welcome to the Final Fantasy XVI: Echoes of the Fallen Trophy guide! This piece of downloadable content takes place near the end of the main game. You should have a save that you can load right before the final mission if you have already played through the main game prior to the DLC’s release.
3/10 Estimated Difficulty With Accessory Items OR 6/10 Without on Final Fantasy Mode
3 – 5 Estimated Hours to Completion
1 Minimum Playthrough On Final Fantasy Mode
1 Missable Trophies/Achievements – “OMG”
How to Begin
In order to begin the DLC, you’re going to need to advance the story until the Origin location is added to your map. This is done during the “Back to Their Origin” story mission. You will also need to complete the “Where There’s a Will” and “Priceless” side quests. Those can be found in The Hideaway.
If you do not have “Where There’s a Will,” complete “Phoenix, Heal Thyself” from The Hideaway first.
If you do not have “Priceless,” complete “Cut from the Cloth” and “Where There’s a Will.” You will also need to read “Concern for Jill” at the Reading Table in your room at The Hideaway.
Once all of that has been completed, you will see this icon on your map at The Hideaway. Speak to Charon to begin.
A Single Playthrough
Everything here can be completed in a single playthrough. However, there is one caveat to that. You will need to do it on Final Fantasy difficulty.
Most players will likely already have a Final Fantasy difficulty save though. A Final Fantasy playthrough would have been your second playthrough of the main game which is required for the Platinum.
If you did not do that, you will basically need to playthrough the entire game on Final Fantasy difficulty in order to reach the time in which Echoes of the Fallen takes place during the story if you are going for 100% Trophy completion.
The same Accessibility items that are used to make Final Fantasy difficulty easier still work in this DLC.
Accessibility Items:
- Ring of Timely Evasion
- Ring of Timely Assistance
- Ring of Timely Focus
Missables?
The only thing that can be missed here is “OMG.” This is earned by beating Omega on Final Fantasy difficulty.
As for the collectible Bits, these can be picked up via Stage Replay if any are missed. Although, the Bits in the chests are hard to miss. This DLC is pretty linear and these chests will be on your path. Just remember to keep your eyes open for chests on the path.
A Crystal Darkly
Brave the dusk.
This is an unmissable story related Trophy.
This will be unlocked after the intro conversation and cutscene with Charon.
The Only Way Is Up
Enter the spire.
This is an unmissable story related Trophy.
This will pop just before selecting the The Sagespire on your map to travel to it.
Repercussion
Silence the echoes
This is an unmissable story related Trophy.
This will be earned after the final cutscenes by speaking with Charon after beating Omega.
OMG
Defeat Omega on “Final Fantasy” mode.
MISSABLE if not played on Final Fantasy difficulty.
Omega is the final boss of the DLC. You’ll need to beat Omega on Final Fantasy difficulty in order to earn this Trophy.
Most players will likely already have a Final Fantasy difficulty save.
If you’re struggling on FF difficulty, you can use the following Accessory items to make it easier:
- Ring of Timely Evasion
- Ring of Timely Assistance
- Ring of Timely Focus
Bit Fit
Obtain all Fallen bits.
There are six Bits to collect. Four of them are found in chests that are on your path for the most part. Just keep your eyes open for chests as you work through the Echoes of the Fallen DLC. The remaining two are collected by beating bosses that are on the story path.
If you do happen to miss any, you can collect them by playing Stage Replay.
- Escapement Bit
This is located in a chest to the left of the first doorway you go through after first entering the Sagespire.
- Nourishment Bit
This is in a chest on the right of an exit door in a big open room with 10 tanks of creatures. You will need to fight off two waves of enemies in this room.
- Bombardment Bit
The Bombardment Bit is earned by defeating the Omicron boss shortly after picking up the Nourishment Bit.
- Disengagement Bit
This is found in a chest to the right of the door immediately after fighting the Assault Unit OGR.
- Assailment Bit
After you fighting the Angra Mainyu, you’ll ride an elevator up to the next floor. This is found in a chest next the door after the first combat encounter on this new floor.
- Revivement Bit
This will be given to you after you beat the Asterios mini boss.
My Reward Is with Me
Obtain the Omega Weapon.
First, you will need to complete the entire DLC. This includes beating Omega.
You’ll receive all of the required crafting materials for this weapon by beating the bosses during the DLC.
When you regain control after the final cutscenes, speak to Blackthorne at the Forge in The Hideaway and you’ll be able to craft the Omega Weapon Reforged.
It’s FFXVI, so nobody cares. Yoshi-P (Naoki Yoshida) has zero clue on what made FF an amazing RPG series, now it’s a garbage action game series. Yay…
