Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Resynced Trophy Guide & Roadmap

Welcome to our Assassin’s Creed Black Flag: Resynced Trophy Guide & Roadmap!

  • 4/10 – Estimated Difficulty
  • 35 – 45 – Estimated Hours to Completion
    • some RNG required
  • 1 – Minimum Play-Through
  • 0 – Missable Trophies
  • 0 – Difficulty Related Trophy
  • 0 – Online Multiplayer Trophies

Step 1

For the first step, you’re going to want to work on knocking out the story. There are some locations/mechanics/quests that are locked behind story progress. So you’ll need to get through it in order to make sure everything is available to you. While you’re going through the story, there are a few misc. Trophies that you can get out of the way. So go ahead and knock out what you can as you go.

Step 2

Once you’re through the story, it’ll be time for clean up. Nothing here is missable. So anything that you didn’t complete during your pass through the story can be cleaned up here. Also, everything will be fully available to you after the story. So, anything you weren’t able to complete earlier will now be available to you. The in game map uses a coordinates system. So the locations below have their coordinates listed. These tell you exactly where the location is in game. This makes clean up quicker.

Trophies to Keep in Mind

The first Trophy you’ll want to keep an eye out for is Last to Leave. This Trophy is completely random. First, burning ships are random events that you will come across when sailing. Second, a chair may or may not spawn on the random encounter. So you’ve got two cases of RNG in one here. Keep an eye for this event. It will be marked by a ship icon with a flame around it. When you see that, head straight for it. As you get closer, you can use the spyglass to zoom in and look at the ship to see if there is a chair on it. When you see the chair, board the burning ship and go sit down on it to pop this Trophy.

The second Trophy is Dilettante. There are 41 art pieces to collect, but 19 of them are random rewards from piracy missions at Kenway’s Fleet in Great Inagua manor. When defeating ships, you will have the option to take the defeated ship and add it to your fleet. This will allow you to send these ships out on missions for you. These are passive missions that will auto complete in background while you play the game. You want to get started on the piracy missions as soon as you’re able to. You need to stay on top of this. These piracy missions are on set timers and the rewards are random. That means you need to be completing as many of these as often as you can to cut down on the RNG grind. Only focus on the piracy missions. The rewards will be listed on the mission info. You’ll see a set number of materials. Sometimes, you’ll see an item next to the materials with a “1” next to it. These are the art supplies. Always do these when you see that. If none of the available missions offer that reward, you’ll still need to do them in order to clear them out and hope that the next batch will offer an art supply reward. Remember, you want to start on these as soon as the story introduces them to you. Return to your manor often to send out the next wave of ships.

Last To Leave

Take a seat on a burning ship

This Trophy is completely random. First, burning ships are random events that you will come across when sailing. Second, a chair may or may not spawn on the random encounter. So you’ve got two cases of RNG in one here. Keep an eye for this event. It’ll will be marked by a ship icon with a flame around it. When you see that, head straight for it. As you get closer, you can use the spyglass to zoom in and look at the ship to see if there is a chair on it. When you see the chair, board the burning ship and go sit down on it to pop this Trophy.

 King of the Castle

Capture all forts

There are 11 forts across the map. These will be marked as red tower-like icons. Capturing a fort has multiple steps. First, you will need to sail to a fort, and attack them from your ship. It is highly recommended to have unlocked the mortar weapon for your ship before attacking the forts. This will allow you to do heavy damage from further away. Take down the weapons at the forts just like you would an enemy ship. After the outer defenses are destroyed, you will then need to dock with the fort. Leave your ship and enter the fort. You’ll need to kill enemies inside of the fort until their morale is completely wiped. Then, you just need to kill the fort commander. When you’ve done those three things, the fort will be captured.

 The Memory of My Enemy

There are 11 portraits you’ll need to collect and display. Once you have the items, you’ll then need to go and place them throughout the manor. The items you need are listed below.

Governor

Restore all buildings in the Great Inagua village

Great Inagua village will be where your hub location. You’ll be able to upgrade it and your ship from here. You’ll unlock this as part of the main story. There are 7 buildings that you will need to restore. Each of the required locations will be marked on your map with icons that have a little hammer on them. Go to these locations and speak to the marked NPC. You’ll need to pay them money in order to restore the buildings. There are multiple upgrade levels for each of the buildings, but you only need to buy the very first tier of each building. The tier that actually restores the building for use. The buildings you need are listed below:

  • Tavern – 100
  • Harbormaster – 500
  • General Store – 500
  • Treasure Dealer – 5,000
  • Fisherman’s Wharf – 5,000
  • Campfire – 6,000
  • Brothel – 6,000

 Zero Waste

Restore a map from map pieces

There are few things that are required for this Trophy. First, you will need to restore the Treasure Dealer on the docks at Great Inagua. When speaking to the treasure dealer, he will be able to restore maps for you, but you will need to find and bring him the pieces of the maps. Restoring maps will cost you a lot of resources once you have the required pieces. The Tattered Map is one of the quicker maps to restore.

The Tattered Map only has three pieces and costs 200 sugar to restore. You can get the pieces of the Tattered Map from the lockboxes on the pirate hunter’s ships. You’ll need to raise your wanted level to 3 – 4 in order to get the right ships. The map pieces will only spawn from the ships that come after you when you are at 3 – 4 wanted level. Board the pirate hunter ships and choose the option to take the Captain’s Lockbox. The map pieces are random spawns from those lockboxes, but they spawn fairly quickly.

The other requirement is 200 sugar. You’ll likely have enough of this from sending ships from your fleet to missions. You’ll be getting a lot of materials as you chip away at collecting the random art collection items for the Dilettante Trophy.

Grandmaster

Win at each of the different tavern games

There are three different tavern games that you need to win. There are multiple difficulty levels you can choose from when challenging an NPC to a game. All you have to do is win one game of each of the three at any difficulty level. You’ll need to play, Checkers, Nine Men’s Morris and Fanorona.

All three games can be found at your hideout at Great Inagua. The story will take you there to set it up. The games will be marked by a die icon. If you’re struggling with the mini games, you can follow the links below to use a next move simulator for each game. They’ll tell you the best move you can make based off of the opponent’s moves.

Help A Brother Out

Complete a Templar Hunt sequence

The Templar Hunts will become available after main story mission  – This Old Cove. Each of the hunts will have four short quests that you need to complete in order to kill the target Templar at the end of the questline. In order to earn this Trophy, you’re going to have to complete all four of the quests and kill the final Templar target. These are marked on your map as black “!” diamond icons.

Seven Deadly Seas

Find all treasure chests in underwater shipwrecks

Before you can earn this Trophy, you’re going to have to unlock the diving bell first. This is something that will be automatically unlocked through the main story. There are seven shipwrecks to explore. They will be marked on your map as diving bell icons after you acquire the diving bell. You need to go to each of these locations and open every chest. Each of the locations can have between 6 – 11 chests. These are small areas underwater to explore. When you are close to a chest, it will be marked on your map.

Silence, Fool!

Kill a guard ringing a bell

Bells are guaranteed to be found at warehouses. When an enemy sees you, he will run to the bell to ring it for back up. In order to earn this, you need to kill the enemy as he is ringing a bell. Let an enemy see you, damage him until he is almost dead and then stop. Wait for him to run to the bell. Finish him off while he is ringing the bell.

Matador

Dodge a total of three charge attacks by a Wild Pig

Wild Pigs can be found on Mariguana Island on the eastern side of the map (849,515). Once there, track down a wild pig and wait for it to attack you. Press to dodge just before it hits you when it charges. All you need to do is dodge three times and the Trophy will pop. It can be done on the same wild pig.

Perfect Predator

Get a perfect harpoon shot on a Great White Shark

As you sail, you’ll come across designated spots in the ocean that are for harpooning sea life for materials. Each of these spots will have an animal that can be harpooned at that location. For this Trophy, you’ll need to find a Great White Shark harpooning location. There is one at 490,303. Hold to aim and then hold to power your throw. As you hold , the reticle will retract and then flash. You need to let go of at that flash to have a perfect throw. You will also need to hit the shark with the harpoon for it to register.

Double Tap

Parry two Ocelot attacks in rapid succession

Ocelots can be found on the island at 583,807. You will actually go to this island as part of the story. In fact, you will need to kill two ocelots as part of the main quest here. For this, all you need to do is parry two ocelot attacks in a row. This can be done against one ocelot, or two of them. You just need to parry two attacks back to back. Press when you see the flash above them to parry their incoming attack. Once you get the first parry, just wait for the next attack and parry it.

Owned

Complete every activity in a single location

This is earned by going to any island and completing every activity on the island. When you view an island on the map, you can zoom out and then press to view the list of icons (activities) available at the island. Complete each one of them. If there is an animal listed, you will also need to hunt and kill it. Hunting the animal is an activity as well. There are a lot of small islands that will only have a few activities that you can use to knock this out.

The Hangman

Kill 10 enemies by hanging them with the rope dart

You’ll unlock the rope dart automatically as part of the story. This can be used to hang enemies when they are below you if you’re on a tree branch/beam/rope. When they are under you, there will be an prompt on the enemy. Press it and you’ll use the rope dart to hang the enemy. Because this is something so specific, you’re going to want to get these kills any time you’re able until the Trophy pops. You need enemies to be standing in exact places, so make sure to focus on knocking these kills out. If an enemy is close, but not in the right spot, you can lure them by whistling. Lure them under the branch/beam you’re on and then get the kill. You can often find enemies positioned under beams/rope in the bigger towns. If there are multiple under a beam, use a sleep dart on them and leave one enemy awake. Hang the enemy and then wait for the others to wake up and you can hang them as well. There are plenty of areas to earn this in bigger towns, so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Caught ‘Em All

Catch at least five enemies within a single smoke bomb

Smoke bombs will become available to you as part of the main story. You’ll get them during the main story mission, Lively Havana. All you need to do here is throw one smoke bomb at a group of at least 5 enemies. All 5 of the enemies need to be in the radius at the same time in order for them to be affected. If you’re in combat, you can try to kite the enemies to get close enough together. If you can’t get that to work, you can also try for this when you have boarded a ship. There will be more than 5 enemies grouped up on the deck of the ships you board.

Gun-kata

Use pistols to kill four enemies in a row within five seconds

In order to earn this Trophy, you’re going to have to upgrade the holsters to level three. This will allow you to carry four pistols. You’ll need all four in order to get the kills fast enough. Reloading takes too long and will take you well over the five second timer here. Once you have the four pistols, you will need to get four headshots one after the other in under five seconds.

  • Pistol Holster II – Automatically obtained from the story
  • Pistol Holster III – 2 Rabbit Pelts (Found in Nassau)
  • Pistol Holster IV – 4 Bull Shark Skins (Harpoon)

Find four enemies and whittle their health down until they are almost dead. Then, use the sleep darts on each one. Quickly finish them off with the pistols as they are sleeping. Make a manual save before doing it just in case it doesn’t go right.

Backs To The Wall

Kill an enemy with a wall takedown

When in combat, get an enemy up against or as close to a wall as you can by pressing + to kick them back. Then press to perform a takedown when the prompt appears. Edward will use the wall as part of the takedown.

Let Me Explain

After a perfect parry, perform a total of four takedowns

In order to earn this, you will first need to buy a sword that has a maximum takedown count of 4. This will be labeled on the sword info before you buy it. You can buy the Officer’s Rapiers from the General Store at your hideout in Great Inagua. Once you have that, you’ll need to get in a fight with at least four enemies. Wait of one of them to attack and then parry it just before it hits you to perform a perfect parry. Once you do that, the prompt for a takedown will appear. Press to perform the takedown and then the prompt will appear again on the closest enemy. Press it and this will continue until you have performed 4 takedowns.

Kick a berserk enemy caught in smoke off a ship

Before you can earn this, you will need to unlock two weapons. Both area automatically unlocked by advancing the story.

  • Blow Dart – Story Mission – Overrun and Outnumbered

Once you have both of those, take your ship and sail. Attack an enemy ship and board it. Equip the berserk dart and shoot an enemy with it ( + Left to select it and then + to shoot it). They will be poisoned. A purple icon will be above their head. Once you see that, throw a smoke bomb at that enemy ( + Down to select it and then + to throw it). When they are poisoned and in the smoke cloud, hold and then press to kick them. Make sure to kick them toward a wall of the ship. When they hit the wall, press to perform a takedown when the prompt appears. Edward should throw them over. This only counts if the takedown throws the enemy over.
