Step 1 – Main Story + Platinum and Relics

First off, you’re going to want to focus on completing the main story. As you progress through each of the maps, make sure to collect Platinum and Relics. The maps are not too big, so exploration is fairly straightforward here. Just be sure you’re looking around for any paths that lead away from the main story path.

You don’t need to focus on finding everything in Purgatory right away. You will not be able to reach every location there until the end game. So, collect what you can along the story path and then focus on cleaning that area up during the end game.

Step 2 – Clean Up + End Game

After the story is complete, you’ll be in the end game. All of the maps will be fully explorable and you will now have the master key. Return to the maps and clean up and relics or platinum that you may need. In addition to those, you’ll now have access to the master key gates. You’ll need to enter these in order to find Rituals of Power, Classic Encounters, more relics and a new currency, Blood Iron. Blood Iron works the same way as the Platinum from the main story. You will need to collect it in order to finish off fully upgrading the Chain Spear.

During the end game, you’ll be able to fast travel on the maps from Hollow Shrines and track what objectives you want to work on. This will make clean up go quickly. Hold Down on the D-Pad and you’ll bring a wheel of objectives that you can track when in a map. You can do the same in Purgatory and it will allow you to track which map gate you’re looking for.

**Author Note: There are unfortunately no exact locations for Platinum, Blood Iron and Relics below. A faulty hard drive issue wiped out the videos and maps I was in the middle of preparing. Apologies for that, but they really are not too difficult to find as long as you are through when exploring. You’ll likely come across the majority of them naturally.**

This is an automatic story-related Trophy.

Spear Adept

Acquire all upgrades for a single Chain Spear ability.

See the, “Spear Mastery,” Trophy below for more details.

Spear Mastery

Acquire all Chain Spear upgrades in a single save slot.

The Chain Spear is upgraded by spending Platinum. Platinum works the same way as gold from the base game. You can find platinum throughout the various areas. You can also receive platinum by completing Relics, which are another collectible that can be found in the maps. You can spend your platinum at Hollow Shrines to upgrade the Chain Spear. In addition to Platinum, you’re going to also need to collect Blood Iron. Although it’s a different name, it is essentially the same thing as Platinum. The difference here is that Blood Iron is red and it can only be found behind master key gates during the end game. The bottom row of Chain Spear upgrades is going to require Blood Iron and not Platinum.

Some Assembly Required

Completely reassemble a five-piece Relic.

See the, “Archeologist,” Trophy below for more details.

Archeologist

Completely reassemble all Relics in a single save slot.

Relics are collectibles that are broken up into multiple pieces found through out the different maps. The pieces of Relics are found somewhat close to each other, so when you come across a piece, the remaining pieces are nearby. Once you’ve found all pieces of a relic, they’ll be put together automatically and the relic will be collected. There are relics in the main story, as well as in the end game locked behind master key doors. They work the same way in the end game as they do during the main story. The pieces will be near each other. Find them all to piece them back together.

Time is Money

Complete a Ritual of Power.

Rituals of Power are combat challenges that will become available in the end game. They are locked behind master key doors. These are timed challenges. You will need to finish all of the Rituals of Power with gold time in order to earn all of the pieces to the Astral Boss Key. Completing a Ritual of Power at any tier will earn this Trophy. These can be tracked by holding Down on the D-Pad > Ritual of Power.

Hello, Old Friend

Acquire the ’93 Shotgun.

The ’93 Shotgun is acquired by completing every Classic Encounter. There is a Classic Encounter in each location of the DLC. When you complete one, you’ll receive a piece of the shotgun. So, it’ll work the same as the relics that you needed to collect and piece together here. Classic Encounters will not become available until you have reached the end game. They are locked behind doors that require the master key. You’ll automatically piece together the master key as you play through and beat the main story of the DLC. There are 4 pieces in total. These can be tracked by holding Down on the D-Pad > Classic Encounter.

Xal’Goroth Defeated

Defeat Xal’Goroth the Imprisoned.

Xal’Goroth the Imprisoned is an end game boss. In order to fight it, you’re going to need to collect all eight pieces of the Astral Boss Key. These are earned by getting gold on the Rituals of Power and by completing Praetor Fights in the end game. Once you have all of the pieces of the Astral Boss Key, return to Purgatory. The Astral Boss Gate is located in the center of Purgatory, on the lower level.
