Halo: Campaign Evolved Trophy Guide & Roadmap

Welcome to our Halo: Campaign Evolved Trophy Guide & Roadmap!

  • 10/10 – Estimated Difficulty
    • It’s a 10 if done legit, but there is currently a glitch that allows you to make the LASO run trivially easy.
  •  35 – 40 – Estimated Hours to Completion
    • It really just depends on how long LASO will take you. This can be different for every player.
  • Multiple – Minimum Play-Throughs
  • 0 – Missable Trophies
  • 6 – Difficulty Related Trophy
  • 0 – Online Multiplayer Trophies

Step 1 – Story, Skulls and Terminals

The first step here is working your way through the story. There are 10 original story missions and 3 brand new bonus missions. You’re going to need to complete all of those, obviously. While you’re making your way through the game’s story, you are also going to want to collect all of the Terminals and all of the Skulls. Terminals are just lore collectibles. There is one per mission. Skulls on the other hand, are much more important. Each skull that you find has a gameplay modifier attached to it. When you go to replay the game or individual missions, you can turn on the Skulls that you find to change the gameplay. Missions can be made easier, or harder depending on what skulls you’ve turned on.

Not only do you need the skulls for the collectible related Trophies, but you also need them for several other Trophies. There are multiple Trophies that are going to require you to complete missions with certain skulls turned on. So the sooner you collect all of these, the sooner you can work through the entire Trophy list.

There are gameplay modifiers in the options, but these will disable Trophies. Although, there is currently a glitch that makes use of modifiers. We’ll have more on that down below.

Step 2 – Clean Up

After you’ve collected and beat everything, you’re going to want to go back through and clean up any miscellaneous Trophies you may have missed. Fortunately, nothing here is truly missable. That includes collectibles and Trophies. Missions can be replayed at any time. You can even jump in to missions at certain points by selecting which rally point to spawn in on. Overall, the game is pretty forgiving when it comes to cleaning up and earning *most* of the Trophies.

Step 3 – LASO Playthrough

Earlier when I said the game was forgiving with most Trophies, this is where that ends. The LASO playthrough is extremely difficult. This is going to be the Trophy that puts a stop to the Platinum for a lot of players. For Halo newcomers, LASO stands for Legendary, All Skulls On. That means you’re going to have to play on Legendary difficulty, the highest difficulty in the game and you’re going to need to have a lot of skulls turned on at the same time. Now, it’s “all skulls on,” but it really is only a certain group of them. The skulls that are required are listed below.

  • Iron
  • Black Eye
  • Fog
  • Mythic
  • Thunderstorm
  • Famine
  • Grunt Birthday Party
  • IWHBYD
  • Boom
  • Malfunction
  • Grunt Funeral
  • Eye Patch
  • That’s Just… Wrong
  • Speed Limit
  • Pop
  • Johnny Ammo Seed
  • Temperamental

Your LASO playthrough can be started from the main menu > Campaign Remix > Play LASO. All of the necessary skulls will be turned on automatically and you can get started.

Glitch Alert!

Having said everything about how hard LASO is, there is currently a glitch in the game that will make the LASO playthrough incredibly easy. I do not suspect this glitch will survive very long, so if you want to take advantage, get on it right away. This is very likely to be patched out soon. I believe that the credit for this goes to TrueAchievements user GLL. Here are the steps below:

  1. Press Options at the main menu and go to Gameplay.
  2. Modify Preset 01
    • Damage Resistance – 2000%
    • Shield Recharge Rate – 200%
    • Damage Modifier – 300%
    • Melee Damage Modifier – 300%
    • Ammo – Bottomless Clip
  3. Turn on Modifier Preset to Preset 01.
  4. Start you LASO playthrough. The Trophy stats will not update while you have modifiers on.
  5. Complete the LASO run of all 13 missions.
  6. Turn OFF all of your modifiers
  7. Start the first mission, Pillar of Autumn, on any difficulty. Wait for a checkpoint to appear and then go pick up the skull in the very first room of the mission.
  8. The game will then update all completed data and pop Trophies.

Collector’s Addition

Find all skulls and terminals in the game.

There is one Terminal per mission and three skulls per mission. None of them are missable and can be cleaned up at any time via chapter select. You can even choose which point of the mission you’d like to start at. As soon as you interact with a Terminal or pick up a skull, they will be marked as completed. You can die or quit the level and you’ll still have them. So the game is very generous in terms of collectibles.

The skulls are not only needed for the collectible Trophies, but you will also need them for other Trophies as well. Each skull acts as a gameplay modifier. Once you’ve collected a skull you can then turn on their effects when choosing what mission to play.

There are also skulls and Terminals in the three new missions that you will need to collect, not just the original 10 missions from the base game.

You can view the Halo: Campaign Evolved All Skulls & Terminals Locations Guide for the locations of everything.

REMIX!

Complete a Remixed Mission.

See the, “Mix Master,” Trophy below for more details.

Beat the Drop

Complete a Remixed Mission without dying.

See the, “Mix Master,” Trophy below for more details.

Mix Master

Complete an entire Remixed Campaign without dying.

Remixed Campaign can be accessed from the main menu > Campaign Remix. All this is is playing through the campaign with certain skulls turned on. So, the mission objectives will be the same, but the gameplay will be different depending on what modifiers are turned on. You need to beat all 13 campaign missions this way. You can do this on easy difficulty if you’d like. You cannot die during the missions. I tried reloading the checkpoint and did not work. If you die, you’ll need to quit out to the main menu and then start whatever mission you were on over from the beginning from the Campaign Remix playlist. Fortunately, you do not need to do this in a single run. All you need to do is beat each level without dying. So, you can hop in and out of the missions in any order you want. Just as long as you are completing them from the Campaign Remix playlist.

There are three skulls that will be on that you cannot change. They are:

  • Adaptation
  • Armistice
  • Reload

Aside from those, there will also be a visual modifier turned on.

You can actually turn on any other skulls that you want except for Acrophobia. That one will disable the Trophy. Some helpful skulls are:

  • Endurance Spec – UNSC vehicles cannot be damaged
  • Magnified – AR magazines have 60 rounds

Bad Gas

Destroy 100 Grunt backpacks.

Grunts are the smaller enemies and they wear big backpacks. All you have to do is shoot those backpacks in order for them to explode. You’ll know you did it right when there is a green explosion when shooting a grunt’s back.

Plate Tectonics

Break off 25 Hunter backplates.

Hunters are the big Covenant enemies with the blue armor and heavy weapon. In order to earn this Trophy, you’re going to need to get behind them and shoot the blue plate on their upper back. When shot, the plate will come off which will reveal a weak spot that when hit, will instantly kill the hunter.

New Whip

Hijack 10 Vehicles.

You’ll be introduced to hijacking vehicles during the Assault on the Control Room. There will be enemies driving Ghosts around the map. In order to hijack them, you need to get very close and then hold . Master Chief will then jump on and kick the pilot out. This can be a little tricky as they can run you over, but try to keep some cover between you and vehicle just in case they try to ram you, you can get behind something. There are a lot of enemies driving Ghosts in the mission, Assault on the Control Room, where the hijack is introduced. The mission is long and there are big open areas where enemies will be driving around.

You can also hijack a vehicle and then get out of it. Leave it there and another enemy will try to take it. You can hijack it again.

Disarmed

Dismember 100 Flood parts.

This is something that should naturally come over time. When killing the bigger flood enemies, their limbs will be dismembered. The shotgun makes this very easy from close range. The shotgun will be fairly common when fighting the Flood, so make sure to grab it and use it on them. The Flood are easily dismembered by your attacks, so this will come over time as you work your way through the rest of this Trophy list.

Claims Adjuster

Break off 50 Vehicle parts.

This is something that should come naturally over time as you work your way through the game. As you fight vehicles, pieces of them will break off when you shoot or damage them. There are a lot of sections that feature vehicles, so this will come over time as you work your way through the rest of this Trophy list.

Make Them Count

Kill 100 enemies with headshots.

All you have to do here is aim for the head when shooting enemies. This will come naturally over time as you work through the rest of this list.

Hot Streak

With the Floor Is Lava Skull activated beat a mission without jumping or dying.

Before you can go for this Trophy, you will need to first collect the Floor Is Lava Skull. This is found during the mission, Halo. You can view the Halo: Campaign Evolved All Skulls & Terminals Locations Guide for the exact locations of everything.

You only need to have the one skull activated. Load up any level and activate that skull. You can play on easy to reduce some of the difficulty here. Something to note here is that you will only take damage while standing on the floor. If you are not on the floor, you will not take damage. The tricky part with that is, you also cannot jump during this run. So you’re going to need to look for any raised geometry that can get you off the ground.

I found this to be pretty easy on Pillar of Autumn. There are slanted sides to most of the hallways on this mission. If you run up against most of the walls in this mission, you won’t take damage from the skull. At the start of the mission, back up just a few steps and you should be okay in front of your pod. If not, stand on the slanted sides of the square where you get your shield during the tutorial. When leaving the first room, there will be pipes that you need to cross over. You cannot jump, so you need to run into the pipes facing toward where they go upward on the right. Just keep backing up and running into them where they go up and you’ll sort of bounce yourself over. It’s hard to explain via text, but give it a practice run to see what I mean. After that, the only other area to know about would be the end. There are multiple exits from the maintenance tunnel that takes you to the end. Take the exit that goes around the debris. Usually you could just jump over that debris, but not on this run. Fortunately, the exit that takes you around it will also take you out behind the final group of enemies. Kill the enemies to finish the mission and pop the Trophy. Remember, you cannot jump or die.

Even Tempered

With the Temperamental Skull activated beat Halo without upsetting anyone.

The Temperamental Skull will make it so that your fellow marines will attack you more easily if you shoot/damage them. Before you can go for this Trophy, you will need to first collect the Temperamental Skull. This is found during the bonus mission, The Most Dangerous Game. You can view the Halo: Campaign Evolved All Skulls & Terminals Locations Guide for the exact locations of everything.

When you do have it, turn that skull on and play the mission, Halo. You will need to beat that mission without any of the marines attacking you. It’s not that difficult. So just take it slow and cautious when fighting around them. Make sure to not use grenades or any rockets if they are nearby. It won’t take much to upset them, so just be cautious when you are shooting at the enemy. The magnum is not only a very strong weapon, but it’s great for this as you won’t be spraying any extra shots around. Its a single shot and deliberate weapon. Easier to fight with when the marines are around.

Like Old Times

Complete Two Betrayals with the Speed Limit, Endurance Spec, Hip Fire, and Armistice Skulls enabled.

Before you can go for this Trophy, you will need to first collect the required Skulls. Once you have them, you need to play the Two Betrayals mission and turn on the following Skulls:

  • Speed Limit – This removes the ability to sprint – The skull is found in Pillar of Autumn
  • Endurance Spec – UNSC vehicles cannot be damaged – This skull is found in Truth and Reconciliation
  • Hip Fire – All weapon zoom functionality is disabled – This skull is found in Silent Cartographer
  • Armistice – Enemy factions will not fight each other – This skull is unlocked automatically by collecting any 2 skulls in the game.

You can view the Halo: Campaign Evolved All Skulls & Terminals Locations Guide for the exact locations of everything.

There is nothing too difficult here and the mission can be played on easy and you have to start from the very beginning of the mission. You cannot skip ahead by loading in at a later rally point. It’s okay if you die, there are no extra requirements. It’s just the skulls that need to be turned on.

Frugal Fire

Equip Famine, Recession, and Johnny Ammo Tree Skulls and beat a mission without running out of ammo.

Before you can go for this Trophy, you will need to first collect the required Skulls. Once you have them, you need to play any mission and turn on the following Skulls:

  • Famine – Weapons dropped by enemies contain half the ammo. – Found in The Library
  • Recession – Every shot expends twice the normal amount of ammo – Found in The Most Dangerous Game
  • Johnny Ammo Seed – When reloading you lose the ammo remaining in the discarded clip – Found in Boarding Action

You can view the Halo: Campaign Evolved All Skulls & Terminals Locations Guide for the exact locations of everything.

The skulls needed for this are going to really make constrain your ammo. So, you need to be very mindful of when you are shooting and reloading. I found this to be pretty easy on Pillar of Autumn. Most of the combat sections can be skipped by simply running away from them. There are only a few mandatory fights in that mission. In addition to that, you can set the mission difficulty to easy. Just beware of your ammo usage and do not run out of any. If you’re playing on easy, you can just melee most of the enemies in your way and save your ammo.

MYTHIC

Complete the Campaign with LASO enabled.

The LASO playthrough is extremely difficult. This is going to be the Trophy that puts a stop to the Platinum for a lot of players. For Halo newcomers, LASO stands for Legendary, All Skulls On. That means you’re going to have to play on Legendary difficulty, the highest difficulty in the game and you’re going to need to have a lot of skulls turned on at the same time. Now, it’s “all skulls on,” but it really is only a certain group of them. The skulls that are required are listed below.

  • Iron
  • Black Eye
  • Fog
  • Mythic
  • Thunderstorm
  • Famine
  • Grunt Birthday Party
  • IWHBYD
  • Boom
  • Malfunction
  • Grunt Funeral
  • Eye Patch
  • That’s Just… Wrong
  • Speed Limit
  • Pop
  • Johnny Ammo Seed
  • Temperamental

Your LASO playthrough can be started from the main menu > Campaign Remix > Play LASO. All of the necessary skulls will be turned on automatically and you can get started.

there is currently a glitch in the game that will make the LASO playthrough incredibly easy.

If you’re going to use the glitch, you may want to update your progress multiple times instead of doing it all at once at the end. In order to do so, you just need to turn off your modifiers and then pick up the first skull in Pillar of Autumn. Check your Trophy progress. Once it updates, turn the modifiers back on and continue your LASO playthrough. That way, you can make sure your progress is being tracked and if it gets patched, you’ll have some of it done already.

Some general tips for your LASO run.

  • You can only recharge your shield by using melee on enemies.
  • Take things very slow
  • You can manually reload checkpoints if you’re in a tough spot. If you are about to die, you can pause and restart the checkpoint.
  • If you die, the mission will start over.
  • Play in co op so that the option to be revived is available.
  • You’ll be short on ammo, so pick your shots and reloads very carefully.
  • Grenades have a bigger explosion radius.
  • Be careful when fighting around marines. You’ll be more likely to hurt them and they’ll turn on you for the rest of the mission. This is especially important when it comes to killing grunts. They explode when killed, so if you kill one and the splash damage hurts a marine, they’ll turn on you and attack you. So just leave grunts alone if they are near marines. Let them fight and kill the grunts.
  • Flood enemies can also explode when killed, not quite as strong as the grunts, but they can also damage you or the marines.
  • Be careful around ledges and gaps. Explosions or enemies can bounce you off and over a ledge.
  • When marines aren’t around grunts, you can basically use them as grenades. When they spawn near other enemies, kill them quickly so that the explosion will take out nearby enemies.
  • Be careful when killing grunts near you. Their explosion can kill you.
  • Johnson can bug out the in the bonus missions. Sometimes he’ll just stand there and stop advancing or he’ll die and not respawn. This can usually be fixed by reloading the checkpoint, but there have been a few times where he cost me a run on a bonus mission.

This is My Ship Now

Eliminate Captain Keyes and trap his six avenging Marines in the Autumn’s observation pen.

This is earned on the mission, The Pillar of Autumn – Rally Point Bravo.” After speaking with Captain Keyes, pick up the pistol and then return to the captain. Kill the captain and then you’ll be attacked by marines. In order to earn this, you’re going to need to push the marines over the edge in the cockpit. This is the same room where Keyes was. The cockpit is just behind where he was standing. The area you need to drop them into is where the Perspective skull was found.

As the marines enter the room, you’ll need to melee them toward that ledge. Hit them to push them back and they’ll fall into the area when they are close enough to the edge. You’ll need to repeat that for each of his marines until all six of them are down there. Try pushing them in on the left and right sides. The NPCs and ladder will block them from falling in. It’s kind of janky the way you need to push them, but just keep hitting them with melee them until they fall into that spot. You can also push them a bit by walking into them. This is best done on easy difficulty as they will be attacking you.

Map Quest

Complete The Silent Cartographer without shooting, using grenades, melee, dying, or restarting.

For this Trophy, you will not be able to use any of your gear. You’re basically going to have to just run straight to each objective. It’s recommended to play this mission a couple of times so that you know the layout and know exactly where to go.

This can be done on easy. Difficulty does not matter for this Trophy. As soon as the mission starts, run left and head the opposite way of the objective marker. You want to head to the system’s override substation location first. Make sure to grab overshields. There are two of them next to the two hunter enemies on the way to the system’s override substation. There are also two more on the right side of the entrance to the system’s override substation. When you pick one up, equip it with and then pick up the other. Just head straight for the objective. Once you get to the device, interact with it and then head out back the way you came.

When exiting the system’s override substation, head for the Silent Cartographer’s location. You can just drop down from the system’s override substation platform and end up back on the beach. That way, you can avoid enemies until you get to the Silent Cartographer’s structure. When approaching the structure, take the cave on the right side that leads to the bandana skull. Take this cave up and it will lead you to the entrance. Head in right away and run to the objective at the bottom. Once you’ve interacted with it, head back out the way you came all the way to the top. There is another overshield just before reaching the Silent Cartographer.

Once you’re near the top, there will be a gold elite with a plasma sword. This can one-shot you. Hug the right and then cut left as he rounds the corner to get around him cleanly. Once you’re outside again, there will be a Covenant drop ship. Just run straight off of the ledge so that you drop down below to avoid the enemies up there. Wait near the entrance of the cave to the skull that you took earlier. Wait for your Pelican to land. When you see it land, run back up and enter it right away. Hold inside to end the mission. The Trophy will pop after the cutscene. If you mess up, you cannot restart. You have to quit out of the mission completely and then start it again from Rally Point Alpha.

That’s My Ride

On Assault on the Control Room get to the Banshee before the Elite.

This is earned on Assault on the Control Room – Rally Point Echo. You’ll step through a door and will be on a walkway with enemies and two Banshee vehicles. You need to run and get into one of the Banshees before one of the elites can get in one. There are two elites up, so as the doors open, just sprint past the enemies and head right for the closest Banshee. If an elite gets in first, reload the checkpoint and try again.

Arm’s Length

On 343 Guilty Spark complete the first floor without taking a hit.

This can be done on easy difficulty. If you take damage, you can reload the checkpoint and try again. This won’t work if you get a checkpoint after taking damage, so make sure to reload quickly.

This Trophy takes place at the very beginning of the game. From the second you gain control of Master Chief, you cannot take any damage of any kind. From the very start of the chapter, to when you take the elevator out after discovering the Flood. You’re going to want to be familiar with this mission and where the enemies are.

Generally though, you’ll want to take things slow and get kills from a distance when you’re able. Grenades and the magnum will be very useful here. Try to save some of your grenades for the room where you are first ambushed by the Flood. The Flood will spill out of rooms and attack. Make sure to time your grenades to kill most of the enemies in each wave in a single explosion. Also, use an automatic weapon to clean up any stragglers that survive the grenades. From there, it’ll be time to escape and head back to the elevator. The Trophy popped just before entering the room with the elevator.

Clean Lap

On The Maw complete the warthog run without being forcibly ejected from your vehicle.

The Maw is final mission in the original game’s campaign. The end of the mission will have you escaping while driving a Warthog. You are “forcibly ejected” when the Warthog rolls over and you are automatically taken out of it. So in order to get this, you basically can not flip the Warthog over while escaping. So, drive carefully and don’t go too fast over any bumps or ramps. You don’t want to risk getting ejected. If you play on easy, you’ll have more time on the timer, so you can take things a little more slowly and deliberately.

It’s also worth noting that this did not pop for me when I loaded in to the last rally point of the mission. It would appear that you need to play the entire mission and then give this a try in order for it to be counted toward the Trophy. Playing from the last rally point did not pop the Trophy for me. Playing the mission from start to finish did pop the Trophy.

Jiralhanae Conservationist

On The Most Dangerous Game don’t kill any rampaging Brutes.

This is earned during the bonus mission, The Most Dangerous Game. During this mission, there will be Brute enemies. There is an orange glowing device on their chests. When you shoot these devices, the Brutes will rampage. They’ll charge you or Covenant enemies. In order to earn this Trophy, you cannot kill any of the Brutes while they are in that rampaging state. It is okay to kill them while they are normal, you just need to carefully pick your shots and avoid hitting that orange chest piece. You may want to avoid using grenades on them as well. The explosion could break the device right before killing them. If you do hit the device, stop shooting them and wait for your companions to kill them. It is okay for your companions to kill them. It just cannot be you who kills them while rampaging. There are a lot of Brutes in this mission, so take it carefully when shooting them.

Food Critic

Listen to the Thirsty Grunt talk about his eating habits.

This is earned during the second half of the escape at the end of the mission in the Warthog. After you see the Pelican crash, keep driving. When the objective marker is about 745-748 meters away, stop and look to your right. There should be a shortcut side tunnel there. Enter that tunnel and get out of the Warthog. There will be an explosion inside on your right that blows open a door. Go into that room to find this Grunt. All you have to do is approach him and the Trophy will pop.

All Shield, No Yield

Complete any level on Heroic difficulty or higher without taking health damage.

For this Trophy, you just need to beat any mission on Heroic or higher without taking any damage to your health bar. That last part is important. Your shield can take damage, but your actual health bar cannot. The smaller bar is your health and the top bar is your shield. If your shield takes damage, that’s okay. You just can’t let your shield bar run out. Take it slow and cautious. It doesn’t take much to deplete your shield bar. For me, I did this on the first mission, The Pillar of Autumn. Stick with using the magnum and pick up the overshield charges found in the life boats. Pick one up, equip it and then pick up the other so that you have another one ready to go. When using grenades, make you’re throwing them far enough away from you to avoid any splash damage. This will add an extra layer of protection to your shield bar. If you do take damage to your health, you can quickly reload your checkpoint to try again. If you happen to be stuck on this, you can actually use the bandana skull for infinite ammo.

The Autumn Leaves

Complete Pillar of Autumn.

This is an unmissable story-related Trophy.

Bee Thirty

Complete Silent Cartographer.

This is an unmissable story-related Trophy.

Installation 04

Complete Halo.

This is an unmissable story-related Trophy.

Infiltration Anticipation

Complete Truth and Reconciliation.

This is an unmissable story-related Trophy.
