Borderlands 3 Trophy and Achievement Guide

Welcome to the Borderlands 3 Trophy Guide from Dayngls Game Guides! This Trophy list is pretty straight forward. For Borderlands veterans, there wont be anything too different than what you’ve grown accustomed to with the series. There are a few of the mainstay Borderlands Trophies missing, but it’s very similar to previous lists. There are no character related Trophies this time around, which means fewer play-throughs required for the Platinum Trophy. Most of everything here is completion based. There are a few one offs, but not too many and they really are not difficult. This is a very enjoyable and obtainable list to go a long with a very fun game. There are a few co-op related Trophies, and those can be earned via online matchmaking or with a second controller. There is free roam after you’ve completed the game so, if you’ve missed anything, you can go back and clean it all up afterwards.

Vaulting Your Way To The Top

Biggest Badass In The Borderlands

Reach level 50

- Level 50 is the highest level you can reach on your first play-through of the
game. This is something that will eventually unlock. Just play through the main
story, side missions, Hammerlock's Legendary Hunts, Circle of Slaughter and
Eridian Proving Grounds. There is also a New Game+ mode called "True Vault Hunter
Mode" that you can start and continue to earn XP in if you still have not
reached 50.

Bolt-Ons

Unlock 10 Character Heads or Skins

- Character Heads and Skins can be bought from Crazy Earl in exchange for
Eridium, won from Moxxi's Slot Machine and they can be dropped by defeated
enemies. You'll find more than enough of these as you play through the game.
After you've found one, go into your inventory and press X on them to unlock it.

Mechani-Cool

Unlock 10 Vehicle Parts via hijacking

- You wont be able to unlock this Trophy until you gain access to your vehicle
which will happen in the "Cult Following" mission. All you need to do after that
is steal an enemy vehicle and bring them back to any "Catch-A-Ride" station. Just
park in the highlighted yellow areas and the vehicle will be added to your
collection. You'll come across many vehicles as you make your way through the
open areas of the game. Run up to enemy vehicles and press Square to hijack them.

Tips Appreciated

Tip Moxxi

- Moxxi can be found at Moxxi's Bar in your Sanctuary. Her tip jar is on the
bar counter. All you have to do is tip her $100 by pressing Square.

I Hope You Didn’t Tea-bag

Win a duel

- This Trophy can be earned by either playing online, or by using a second
controller in split screen. Online is accessed via matchmaking or by joining
someone from your Friend's List. If you're doing this with another controller,
turn on the other controller, join as a second player with either another profile
or with a guest login.

To initiate a Duel, go up to another player and press Square to trade. Then, the
other player has to hold Touchpad to initiate the trade menu. Then select Duel.
The other player has to select the Duel option as well. Kill the other player to
win the Duel.

Stay Away From The Light

Revive another player

- This Trophy can be earned by either playing online, or by using a second
controller in split screen. Online is accessed via matchmaking or by joining
someone from your Friend's List. If you're doing this with another controller,
select Split-Screen, turn on the other controller, join as a second player with
either another profile or with a guest login.

This will be another very simple Trophy. Wait for another player to die and
then quickly revive them. There's a timer on how long the player can be down, so
be quick!

Gun Pals!

Send an item to a friend

- This Trophy will require you to be connected to PSN.

Press the Options button, go to the Social tab, then go to the Mail section,
press Square to Send Mail and then select an item to send and friend to send it
to. Yet another quick and easy Trophy.

Dropping Loads

Win a live grenade at a Slot Machine

- This Trophy can be earned at the Slot Machines in Moxxi's Bar in Sanctuary.
Before you start, you may want to have a lot of money saved up as this may or
may not take a while. Now, just keep playing the slot machine until a live
grenade comes out. You can actually play on multiple Slot Machines simultaneously
to increase your chances.

Good Against Remotes Is One Thing

Get a perfect score at the Firing Range on any difficulty

- The Firing Range is found in Sanctuary in the Cargo Bay. This can either be
done on Normal or Challenge. I would suggest playing on Normal Mode as you will
have to shoot 15 targets instead of 20.

You need to hit every target that pops up. If you miss one, wait for the timer
to hit zero. Don't waste your ammo shooting at the others. Use a weapon with a
high magazine count and one that is, or can be set to semi-auto fire.

If you're having trouble with this, you can do it with another player, or a
group. The player that starts the Gun Range at the computer console will be the
one to get the Trophy.

My Name Is Earl

Buy 20 cosmetic items from Crazy Earl

- Crazy Earl is located on the bottom floor of Sanctuary. Earl will sell you
cosmetic items in exchange for Eridium. It looks like purple crystals. It can
be used to gamble at a Slot Machine at Moxxi's, it can be spent at Eridium
specific vending machines and it can be spent at Earl's shop. Eridium is
basically a second type of in game currency and it is a little difficult find,
but you'll come across it as you play through the main story and side missions.

Eridium will be a random award for killing enemies, completing missions and
completing challenges. You will eventually get a skill that'll allow you to
melee the purple crystals found in the various worlds during the mission "The
Rampager" turning them into Eridium pick ups. You will also be introduced to
Anointed enemies during the main story mission "Lair of the Harpy". These
enemies will turn into purple crystals when defeated.

If you'd like, you can make a manual save and back it up on the PSN cloud or on
an external harddrive before spending your Eridium. Once you get the Trophy,
just reload your backed up save file and you'll have your Eridium back.

Tales From the Eridian Slab

Decipher all of the Eridian Slabs

- Eridian Slabs are plaques on the walls throughout the various locations of
Borderlands 3. There are 30 of them to decipher. They have a vault symbol on
them. They will also be marked on your map as a blue diamond labeled "Eridian
Writing" as you go near them. You won't be able to decipher them until you
progress to a certain point in the story. So, this is something you'll have to
save until much later in the game.

If this Trophy does not pop upon deciphering the last one, go back to Sanctuary
and decipher the one on the ship repeatedly and the Trophy will eventually pop
here.

Slaughterhouse 3

Complete all the Circles of Slaughter

- The Circles of Slaughter is basically a wave survival horde mode. Borderlands
veterans should be familiar with these challenges. You will need to defeat five
different waves of enemies in three different Circles. If you die, you'll need
to start all the way back over at the first wave. There are bonus objectives
that can be completed during the phases, but they are not required for the
Trophy. Completing them will earn you better loot at the end though. The
"Slaughterstar 3000" location is actually its own planet. You will need to
first get the "Slaughterstar 3000" side quest from Desolation's Edge on
Nekrotafeyo. Then, go back to Sanctuary to travel to the "Slaughterstar
3000" location in the planet list.

Exoarchaeolo-You Get The Gist

- There are 27 named locations to be discovered on Nekrotafeyo. See the Trophy
"Master Of All You Survey" for more details.

Master Of All You Survey

Discover all named locations

- This will likely be one of the last Trophies, if not the last Trophy that
you'll have left. There are 223 named locations to discover. These can be
tracked by selecting a planet and then by pressing L3. You won't be able to
unlock it until after you've completed the main story, but that doesn't mean
you can't wait until the very end to work on this. As you progress through the
main story, other planets and areas will become available. Some areas within a
planet you're on may be inaccessible. So, if you come across this, that just
means the area will become available in another mission.

You'll unlock a majority of all the areas by just playing both main and side
missions. There are a lot of missions in this game and they're going to take
you all over the different maps. You'll knock out a big chunk of them this way,
but another thing you can do, is casually explore as you move from objective to
objective. Now, I don't mean stopping what you're doing to look for these, but
if you're on your way to an objective and you a see a little hallway or a room,
take a sec to check it out. Chances are it's going to be a location.

As I'm sure you've noticed, the map turns blue showing you where you've
already been. This is pretty helpful as you can look over the different maps
to see where you've been without having to backtrack too much. Now, turning the
whole map blue isn't the objective, you need to actually enter in the areas.
They can be big spacious places, or small one off rooms. When you go to finish
these Trophies off, look carefully at the maps to see if there are any greyed
out spots on your map. As I mentioned above, this can't be done right away, but
if you're conscious of this during your play-through, it can be made easier in
the end.

A La Carte

Complete 20 Side Missions

- See the Trophy "Getting A Little On The Side" for more details.

Getting A Little On The Side

Complete all Side Missions

- Side Missions will be marked on your map as a yellow !. They will appear as
you progress through the game. Some missions will not become available until
other Main and Side missions are completed.

List of Borderlands 3 Side Missions

100 Proof

Clear all the Eridian Proving Grounds

- The Proving Grounds won't be unlocked until after you've completed the main
story. In this mode, you'll be on a timer as you face three different waves of
enemies followed by a boss fight. The faster you complete the waves and boss,
the better the loot at the end will be. The Proving Grounds are more co-op
oriented, but it is possible to beat solo. It'll be easier playing as team here,
but it's not required.

Got Big Game

Defeat all of Hammerlock’s Legendary Hunts

- Hammerlock's Legendary Hunts can be accessed by pressing the Touchpad. Go to
the Map tab and then press Right on the D-Pad to access the Challenges menu. If
there is a Legendary Hunt, it will be listed here. If you come near a hunting
area, Hammerlock will radio you with information on the hunt. It will then appear
on your map as a green diamond icon with a skull in it.

Zer0ed In

Defeat all of Zer0’s Targets of Opportunity

- Zer0's Targets of Opportunity can be accessed by pressing the Touchpad. Go to
the Map tab and then press Right on the D-Pad to access the Challenges menu. If
there is a target of opportunity, it will be listed here. If you come near a
target area, Zer0 will radio you with information on the target. It will then
appear on your map as a green diamond icon with two swords in it.

Barreled Right Over Them

Kill an enemy with an exploding barrel

- This is one of those Trophies that will come naturally as you play through
the game without really even trying. There will be plenty of opportunities to
earn this one. Simply shoot a barrel near an enemy. As long as the following
explosion is the killing blow, you pop another easy Trophy.

Feelin’ A Little Stabby

Kill an enemy, knifing them with a gun blade

- Before you can earn this Trophy, you will first need to acquire a gun that has
a blade attached. These, like every other weapon in the game, can be bought,
found in chests or dropped randomly by a defeated enemy. Just play through the
game while keeping an eye out for a bladed gun. Once you find one, equip it and
kill and an enemy with the blade. All you have to do is melee while having the
gun out and it'll stab the enemy.

Stick It To ‘Em

Kill two or more enemies with a single sticky grenade

- First, you'll need to acquire a grenade that has a sticky mod. These can be
dropped randomly by defeated enemies, found in chests or they can be bought from
Ammo Dump vending machines. It will state that it is a sticky grenade in the
name. Once you have one, throw it at a group of enemies to get multiple kills.
To make this slightly easier against bandits, damage the enemies a bit to lower
their health before throwing the grenade to assure that they will both be killed.

This can be done against any enemy, but the Skag pups on Pandora are a quick and
easy enemy to knock this Trophy out on.

On Fleek

Equip purple-rarity gear or better in every slot

- Purple gear is considered Epic gear and the only thing higher than purple, is
orange. So, you can have all eight of your slots made up of purple and orange
gear. This Trophy actually won't take too long as purple gear drops somewhat
frequently. After you complete the main story, purple gear will drop often.
They all have to be equipped at the same time, so hold on to any purple gear you
find and you will eventually have something for every slot. This Trophy will come
as you work your way toward reaching level 50. All of the slots will eventually
unlock automatically. They are based off of main story progression.

4 Weapon slots
Shield slot
Grenade slot
Mod slot
Artifact slot

Rewards Card

Earn a Loyalty Package from each weapon manufacturer

- There are nine different weapon manufacturers in Borderlands 3. You need to get
100 kills with weapons from each manufacturer. You can see the name of the
manufacturer in the description of each weapon. As long as you are mindful of
what manufacturers you've completed, this will unlock as you work through the
main story. It might seem like a grindy Trophy, but it really isn't.

1. Atlas
2. COV
3. Dahl
4. Hyperian
5. Jakobs
6. Maliwan
7. Tediore
8. Torgue

Florida Man

Down yourself by grenade or explosion

- Very simple Trophy here. Throw a grenade down by your feet and let it kill you.
You may need to do this when your shield is very low or just gone completely. If
you go the barrel route, it will take more than one barrel to kill you.

A quick and easy place to earn this is at the very beginning of the game. When
Claptrap is picked up by the big magnet, you'll go to a small town to fight
bandits. There will be some barrels scattered around. Shoot barrels and stand
next to them as they explode. You won't have a shield yet, so it'll be easier
here.

Stay Golden

Use a Golden Key

- First, if you have not already, you will need to sign up for SHiFT. To access
SHiFT, Press Options, go to the Social tab and then go to the SHiFT tab. Here
you can enter codes to unlock Golden Keys. After you have entered a code, you
will need to tab over to the Mail menu. Here, you'll receive a message that
contains the Keys.

Once you have a Golden Key, you can then open a Golden Chest at Sanctuary.
Opening the chest is what will pop the Trophy.

The SHiFT codes can be picked up from the various social media sites. Make sure
to check the Borderlands 3 and Gearbox social media accounts.

Here is a code that was posted by Twitter user @dgShiftCodes:
