Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trophy Guide

Welcome to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trophy Guide from Dayngls Game Guides! This Trophy list is one of the more easier than previous COD games. There are no multiplayer or Zombie Mode Trophies this time around. Everything required for the Platinum is single player based. At the time of the game’s launch, there is one DLC Trophy included. That is NOT required for the Platinum. You’ll need it for the overall 100%, but not the Platinum. Everything but one Trophy can be done on the Recruit difficulty. That will make it much easier. The only other Trophy is difficulty based requiring you to complete the game on either Veteran or Realism.


Tier 1

Unlock all Trophies


Press [BOOM] to Defuse

Blow up 3 tripwires with explosives.

Mission: Hunting Party

All you have to do for this Trophy is use your grenades to blow up trip wires
throughout the mission. There are more than three in the mission and you will
find them on your path to and inside of the hospital. It can be a little tricky
blowing them up with grenades as they tend to roll away. So, crouch down, back 
up to get some distance hold R1 for a couple seconds to cook the grenade and 
then throw toward the trip wire, but bounce it somewhat close to you so that
the grenade will roll toward the wires. They bounce around like crazy, so try
to control the throw the best you can. 

If a trip wire does not blow up with a grenade, restart the last checkpoint and
try again.

Ashes to Ashes

Burn 4 enemies with a single Molotov.

Mission: Proxy War

Right after crashing the drone into the helicopter, you'll have a small firefight 
at the gate of the base. Immediately after this fight, advance to the next area 
to see a small helicopter landing directly a head of you. Four enemies will be 
dropped off from that helicopter here. I was able to hit the helicopter with the 
Molotov killing all four enemies right as they landed, but if that doesn't work 
for you, throw the Molotov right as the helicopter takes off when the soldiers are
still grouped up.

Hang Time

Kill 3 Enemies while you are on a ladder.

I was able to earn this Trophy across two different missions. I got two kills
during the mission "The Wolf's Den." There is a point in the mission where you
will be split up from Farrah after falling down a shaft. Eventually, there will
be section where the scaffolding in the tunnel is on fire. Here, you will have to 
climb up two ladders to escape. There will be an enemy at the top of each ladder.
Climb onto the ladder and then aim up to kill the enemy at the top. Do the same
for the next ladder.

I was able to get the third ladder kill during the mission "Old Comrades." As you
chase Butcher, he'll go down an alley way. There will be a scaffolding to the
left of the alley that you can either go under or climb up to go over. Climb on
to the ladder and kill the enemy that is at the other side of the scaffolding. He
will be right in front of the window that you need to climb through to continue 
the chase.

Long Way Down

Crash a helicopter by shooting the pilot.

Mission: Proxy War

First, pick up the Kar98K at the very beginning of the mission. Then, right after 
crashing the drone into the helicopter, you'll have a small firefight at the gate
of the base. Immediately after this fight, advance to the next area to see a small
helicopter landing directly a head of you. Use the Kar98K to snipe the pilot. 
The pilot will be highlighted in red when you aim down the scope. He'll steady the
helicopter as he lands giving you a clear shot.

Wild Fire

Take down a flying Helicopter with a Molotov.

Mission: Proxy War

Right after crashing the drone into the helicopter, you'll have a small 
firefight at the gate of the base. Immediately after this fight, advance to the
next area to see a small helicopter landing directly a head of you. Throw a 
Molotov straight onto it to bring it down. You will be given Molotovs as part of 
the story during this mission.

Good Effect on Target

Kill an enemy with a direct hit from a smoke grenade.

Mission: Hunting Party

First, you will need to make sure you have smoke grenades on you. You will need
a couple to advance through the map, but you can use one of your squad mates to 
reload them. 

Sometimes after shooting an enemy, they will fall down and continue moving. You
have a small window of time before they die. If you see an enemy moving around
on the ground after being shot, quickly throw a smoke grenade at them with L1.
You have to hit them with the actual grenade for it to count.

Out of the Fire

Complete every single player mission on Veteran or Realism difficulty.

Veteran is the easier of the two difficulties required for this Trophy. Veteran
is a lot easier this time around. The game is very generous with checkpoints.
You take a lot more damage here, so be patient and take it slow. Stay behind
cover at all times and take the enemy out one by one. The game throws checkpoints
at you every two feet, so you really don't have to worry about getting stuck
somewhere for too long.

Tea Time

Complete the single player Campaign on any difficulty.

- There are only 14 missions in the Campaign. Complete them all on any difficulty
to unlock this Trophy.

Nothin but Net

Neutralize the ‘Fog of War’ machine gun with a frag grenade.

Mission: Fog of War
Objective: Locate Barkov's Gas

Shortly after the beginning of the first mission, you'll enter through blue
double doors and your squad will come under fire in a train yard. Make your way
through the train yard to get close enough to hit the machine gunner with a 
grenade. The machine gunner will be up on a walkway outside to the left of the
blue door you entered through behind a blueish spotlight. Just aim your throw
at the blue spotlight. The Trophy might take a second to pop. If you missed this,
you can restart the checkpoint or mission to try again.

Trigger Discipline

Do not injure any civilians in ‘Piccadilly’.

Mission: Piccadily

For this Trophy, you have to go the entire mission without injuring any of the
civilians. It might sound tricky, but it's not. Civilians will run through your
line of sight, so be sure to pick your targets and aim carefully. Make sure you
see a weapon being held by an NPC before opening fire on them. You just have to 
kill all of the terrorists in the area to complete the mission. If you hit a 
civilian or think you might have, restart the mission or checkpoint from the 
options menu. This mission is pretty short, so it's not that bad if you have to 
restart it.

Play Dead

Kill all the enemies in the ‘Embedded’ field of dead bodies.

Mission: Embedded

As you follow Farrah, you'll come to a field of dead bodies. Farrah tells you
to lay down and play dead. Instead, you have to stay up and kill all the enemies
that come through the field.

Companion Block

Only use one cinder block and bring it to the end of ‘Embedded’.

Mission: Embedded

Near the beginning of this mission, you'll have to pick up a cinder block in order
to get by some guards. You have to carry this same block all the way through the 
mission until the very end. There are some combat areas of the mission, so you'll 
have to put it down at some points. After combat, be sure to pick it back up and 
continue walking with it.

Wall Hax

Save Alpha 3-2 from being downed.

Mission: Clean House

Alpha 3-2 is one of your squad members that helps you clear the house. There
is a point in the house where Alpha 3-2 will walk in front of a door and the
enemy will shoot through it downing him. You can't get in front of the stacked 
squad going up the stairs, so you have to shoot through a door on the second
staircase killing the two enemies that will ambush Alpha 3-2. This has to be 
done before he walks in front of the door. Make sure to fire a lot of rounds
into the door just to be sure the enemies are dead. Once you start firing into
the door, your squad will stop and give you time to clear the doorway. The
Trophy will pop after Alpha 3-2 safely crosses the doorway.

Golden Path

Complete ‘Clean House’ without being hit using one bullet per threat.

Mission: Clean House

This Trophy sounds more tricky than it actually is. There's no need to over
complicate clearing through the house. This short mission consists of only
clearing a house. You will need to kill each enemy using only one round each 
while also not taking any damage. 

Keep your weapon up and aim down the sights as you slowly enter each room. There
aren't that many enemies total, but a few will pop out trying to ambush you.
There is one NPC at the very top of the house that will run to a baby. She is
okay to be left alive. All of the others are hostile. 

If you get hit or use more than one shot on an enemy, you can restart the
checkpoint and try that section again. So, with checkpoints, it's actually 
pretty easy. If you want to do a couple practice runs to learn the enemy's 
position, that'll be helpful as the mission itself is not long.

Circus Tour

Kill at least one enemy while inside The Reading Place, Aural Chic and both Subway undergrounds.

Mission: Piccadilly

First subway underground is to left right at the beginning. You have to go all
the way downstairs and kill one or both of the enemies that have taken hostages.

Aural Chic is directly across from the first subway underground entrance. The
name is right above the door. Go inside and kill the hostage taker.

The second subway underground looks exactly like the first, but it is on the
right side of Piccadilly Square. This kill is a little tricky. There are no
enemies down here, but if you run to the other entrance, a suicide bomber will
run downstairs toward you. You have to quickly kill him before he detonates or 
before he is killed by police.

The Reading Place is right next to the first subway underground. You have to
come here to advance the mission. Run inside and there are plenty of enemies 
to kill.

Love from Above

Destroy 4 trucks with 4 drone strikes before they reach the end of their path in ‘The Embassy’.

Mission: The Embassy

Toward the end of the mission, you'll take a position on a roof top during an
assault. Eventually, Price will give you a laser designator to call in drone
strikes. After you call in strikes on the building across the street, the
ambush will come from the field to the east. Here is where you will need to
destroy the trucks. There are only four trucks, so if one makes it in, restart
the checkpoint and try again. 

In order to hit the trucks, you'll need to lead them a bit with the laser. Call
in the strike a few feet ahead of where the truck is. It doesn't have to be 
exact, just near them. 

The first truck will come down the middle. 
The second truck will come down the road to the left.
The third truck will come down the middle.
The fourth truck will come down the right side of the field.

Pit Stop

Stop three APCs with Hadir’s sniper rifle.

Mission: Highway of Death

Shortly after the suicide truck and enemy snipers, an airstrike will come in. 
Right after that, the APCs will approach from the left side of the map. As soon
as you see them, start firing on their tires. In order to stop the APCs, you have
to shoot out three tires on three of them. They have six tires each, but you only
need to disable three. Reload the checkpoint if you miss it.

Driver’s Ed

Shoot the driver of the suicide truck.

Mission: Highway of Death

After the target practice and wave of enemies, a suicide truck will approach
your position. You have to stop it as part of the mission. It will take about 
three shots to earn this. Shoot the boarded up windshield twice to clear the
boards and then shoot the driver. The truck lines up with you and sort of slows 
down a bit as it gets closer to you, so there's nothing too difficult about this.

Two Birds

Kill both soldiers with one shot in ‘Hometown’.

Mission: Hometown

At the very end of the mission, you will be sneaking through a poppy field 
trying to get a truck. There will be two enemies in this area. You have to 
kill them both with just one shot. When you enter the area, press Up on the
D-Pad to use the cell phone as a distraction. The two guards will briefly 
check out the noise. When they do, go to the center of the area to grab a
gun. Use the phone distraction again to get them near each other. Steady 
your shot with L3 and when the guards line up, fire a single shot to kill
them both. If you can't get it, restart the checkpoint and try again.

Tunnel Rat

Complete ‘The Wolf’s Den’ tunnels using only the 1911.

Mission: The Wolf's Den

This description is a little misleading. This Trophy does not require you to use
the 1911 sidearm through the entire mission. This only applies to the section of
the map when you're in the underground tunnel system. The game will auto equip
the 1911 when you go down into the cave system. Just don't use any other weapon,
including grenades. Aim for headshots and shoot carefully. Do not waste your ammo
down here. There are a couple areas where you can get more ammo, but still, do 
not waste shots, cause if you run out, you'll have to restart. It's not a very
long or difficult section. The Trophy will pop after you disarm the bomb vest
at the end of the mission.

Dodged a Bullet

Never get hit by the sniper while escaping captivity.

Mission: Captive

After you break out of the prison, you'll come to a construction area. Here,
you'll see a red laser sight from a sniper. You have to make your way through
the construction site and kill the sniper without being hit at all by him. There
will be other enemies in this area for you to fight. It's okay to take damage
from them, just not the sniper. 

Stay behind cover until your the sniper fire off a shot. Once you hear that, run
to the next piece of cover. Repeat this until you make your way into a warehouse
where you will kill the sniper. If you get hit, restart the checkpoint.

Got Something on Your Face

Spit on Barkov.

Mission: Captive

At the beginning of the mission, Barkov will take you out of your cell to 
interrogate you. When he asks you a question, four answer options will pop up.
Don't choose any of the options. Instead, press R3 to spit in his face. You only
have to do this once.

Hot Swap

Get at least one kill with eight different weapons when completing ‘Old Comrades’.

Mission: Old Comrades

You will find more than eight different weapons during the mission. Kill an enemy,
pick up their weapon and kill the next enemy. Repeat this until you have used
eight different weapons. You actually start the mission by choosing a weapon
out of a box in an apartment. You also will end the mission by getting in a van
that will have an LMG and an RPG for you to use. So, that right there is three
different weapons leaving you to only find five during the actual chase. The 
trophy will pop after the van is repaired and you make your escape.

Lights Out

Shut off the power to 4 buildings in ‘Going Dark’.

Mission: Going Dark

The electrical boxes you need to shut off are outside each of the buildings you
need to search in the mission. You will come across the first one when you are
with Price in the beginning of the mission. The next three will be on the outside
walls of the Pool, Clocktower and Church. This Trophy is best paired with the
Trophy "We Own the Night."

We Own the Night

Kill all enemies at the Church, Clocktower, and Pool without anyone calling for backup.

Mission: Going Dark

You will need to search the Church, Clocktower and Pool as part of the mission. 
You need to kill every enemy inside and outside of the three locations. Take 
your time and slowly move through each location clearing them out. Its okay if 
an enemy spots you, just be sure to quickly kill them. The game voids the Trophy 
if an enemy fires a shot. So, as long as that doesn't happen, you're good. It's 
also okay for an enemy to find a dead enemy. That won't cancel out the Trophy. 
Watch out for the roaming technical as you move from building to building. If an 
enemy gets a shot off, just restart the checkpoint. If you've done it, the Trophy 
will pop upon killing the last enemy.

Warheads on Foreheads

Reach Barkov’s lab entrance using only drone strikes.

This is done at the very beginning of the mission. As soon as you gain control
of your character, press Up on the D-Pad to equip the laser designator. You cannot
use any other weapons or grenades. You just have to make it up the hill into the 
building. You have an unlimited amount of drone strikes, but there is a cool down
period that can take a sec. So, make sure to find good cover during a cool down
period.


Special Operations DLC Pack


Liberation

Complete all Special Operations missions.

As of October 25th, not all of the content required for this has been released.
It's looking like this will not be obtainable until a future update or DLC pack.
