Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure Trophy and Achievement Guide

Welcome to the Twin Breaker: A Sacred Symbols Adventure Trophy Guide! Overall, this is a fairly obtainable list. Some of the levels with four paddles can be a little tricky, but there is nothing too difficult on this list. The majority of this list will be obtained simply by just playing through the various levels. This game is cross buy on PSN, so you will get the Vita and PS4 version when you buy it. What that means for Trophies is that there are two separate Trophy lists. The lists themselves are identical, but you can double up on the Platinum Trophy. It’s not cross save, so you will need to earn everything twice if you play both versions.

One thing to watch out for is the 24 hour Trophy. You will need to beat all 40 levels in a 24 hour period. So, once you start the levels, make sure you’re going to have time to complete them all. They don’t take too long, so don’t worry. This isn’t a stressful speed run.

A Beautiful Lie

Earn all other trophies.

 Aerials

Reflect the Bouncer midair 50 times.

In the bottom left and right corners of the screen will be two meters. When those meters are full, you can press L1 or R1 to shoot a reflector that can bounce the Bouncer. L1 fires the one on the left and R1 for the one on the right. As long as you’re using these during your playthroughs, this will unlock without much effort.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Best Imitation of Myself

Double the Bouncer 25 times.

In order to double the Bouncer, you will have to collect the power-up that gives you an extra Bouncer. It is an orange icon with two Bouncers. These drop randomly, so this will be something that unlocks naturally as you play through the levels.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Bombtrack

Destroy 50 blocks with targeted explosions.

In order to destroy blocks with explosions, you will have to collect the Target Power-Up. It is a red cross-hair icon. When you grab it, a block will then have the cross-hairs over it. Hit the targeted block with the Bouncer or either of the two reflectors and it will explode. These drop randomly, so this will be something that unlocks naturally as you play through the levels.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Chasin’ Papers

Collect 50 silver coins.

See the Trophy “Golden Parachutes” for more details.

Counterfeit

Decrease the Bouncer’s speed 25 times.

In order to decrease the speed of the Bouncer, you will have to collect the power-up that is two blue arrows. These drop randomly, so this will be something that unlocks naturally as you play through the levels.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Courage

Increase the Bouncer’s speed 25 times.

In order to increase the speed of the Bouncer, you will have to collect the power-up that is two red arrows. These drop randomly, so this will be something that unlocks naturally as you play through the levels.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Dead Man’s Party

Lose all of your lives 10 times.

To earn this Trophy, all you have to do is let the Bouncer get passed one your ships until you are out of lives. On Normal, you will start with three lives and on New Game +, you will start with four. These are tracked by the hearts in the top left corner of the screen. This is likely something to happen naturally as you play through the game, but you can just intentionally lose if you’d like.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Deal of the Century

Try each mode at least one time.

There are seven different modes to play in Twin Breaker. For this Trophy, all you have to do is start the mode, immediately quit and then go to the next mode.

  1. Level Select
  2. Marathon Mode
  3. Pong Mode
  4. Random Mode
  5. Shooter Mode
  6. Catcher Mode
  7. Boss Rush Mode

Elite

Earn 1 S-Rank.

See the Trophy “Notorious” for more details.

Enemy

Kill 25 Scarabs.

Every now and then after destroying a block, a scarab will come down toward your ships. You can kill them by using the Laser Power-Up or with the L1/R1 Reflectors. This may come as you play through the levels, but you can speed it up by playing the Shooter Mode.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Epic

Earn 10 S-Ranks.

See the Trophy “Notorious” for more details.

Golden Parachutes

Collect 50 gold coins.

As you’re destroying blocks, random power-ups will be dropping. Included with these are coins. The coins will fall and all you have to do is collect them. They add to your score, so you’re going to want to be collecting them regardless. You can quickly knock this out by playing the Catcher Mode. There are three different coins to collect, each have their own Trophy for collecting 50.

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

 Hold the Line

Erect 25 shield walls.

Erecting shield walls is done by collecting the Shield Wall Power-Up. As soon as you collect it, the walls will automatically build themselves. These drop randomly, so this will be something that unlocks naturally as you play through the levels.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

I Am A Rock

Destroy 250 blocks with the Heavy Ball.

When you collect the Heavy Ball Power-Up, the Bouncer will turn a metallic color. It will then destroy the blocks in one hit instead of bouncing off them and wearing them down. This is a power-up that you should always try to grab. It will really help you finish levels quickly as well as get you a higher score.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

I’d Die Without You

Collect 50 hearts.

See the Trophy “Natural Life” for more details.

Keep Fishin’

Miss 500 pickups.

This is something that can happen as you play through the levels, but you’re going to need these power-ups, so it may take a little longer to get. When a power-up is falling toward your ships, don’t get them and let them fall by and off of the screen. This can be sped up by playing Catcher Mode. Just avoid catching the coins.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Money For Nothing

Buy more health and die again 10 times.

When you lose all of your hearts and die, you’ll be given the option to buy another life. These cost 100 points. So, for this Trophy, you need to buy the extra heart and then die again. This happened naturally for me as I played the levels, but this can sped up by intentionally dying. Just make sure you have at least 100 points to buy the extra life.

Natural Life

Max out your health 10 times.

As you’re destroying blocks, random power-ups will be dropping. Included with these are hearts. You can have a maximum of five hearts and they are extra lives. On Normal, you start with three hearts and on New Game +, you start with four. So, this will be a little easier to do on New Game +. You’re going to need to collect 50 hearts for another Trophy anyway, so keep an eye out for the hearts. These drop randomly, so this will be something that unlocks naturally as you play through the levels.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

New Skin

Spend 1,000 points on extra health.

When you lose all of your hearts and die, you’ll be given the option to buy another life. These cost 100 points. So, for this Trophy, you will need to do that at least 10 times. This is likely something to happen naturally as you play through the game.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Noticeable One

Increase the multiplier 25 times.

In order to increase the multiplier, you will need to collect the 2X power-up. This will be something that is almost necessary to collect when you’re going for S-Ranks. So, like every other power-up, this is something that will naturally happen as you play through the levels.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Pretty Penny

Collect 50 bronze coins.

See the Trophy “Golden Parachutes” for more details.

Pure Concentrated Evil

Collide with 25 Scarabs.

For this Trophy, your ships will need to be hit by Scarabs. This will likely happen as you play, or you can just let them hit you. There is a small penalty if you’re hit by one though. You’ll lose points, your ship will shrink and your ship will be temporarily slowed down. Just keep that in mind when intentionally letting them hit you.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Stun Gun

Destroy 250 blocks with lasers.

You’ll be able to use the lasers when collecting the Laser Power-Up. Whatever ship you grab it with will then have the temporary ability to shoot lasers. The lasers will be able to destroy the blocks. This is a Power-Up that will really help you get through the levels a little more quickly. If you don’t get this while playing through the levels, you can play Shooter Mode. You automatically have the lasers in Shooter Mode.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Time is Running Out

Use all of your time on any stage.

Your timer is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen. You can try to survive until the timer hits zero, but this may just happen to you as you play through the levels. If you’re missing this, you can actually just start a level but hold on to the Bouncer. Don’t fire it and just wait for the timer to hit zero.

That’s Good

Grow Greetings or Salutations 25 times.

In order to grow your ships, you will need to collect the Grow Power-up. Upon collecting it, your ship will get bigger. These drop randomly, so this will be something that unlocks naturally as you play through the levels.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Walk Away

Play Twin Breaker over five separate sessions.

This Trophy can be knocked out very quickly. Start the game, begin a mode and then quit out of the game entirely. Start the game again and repeat this process until the Trophy pops.

You Learn

Shrink Greetings or Salutations 25 times.

In order to shrink your ships, you will need to collect the Shrink Power-up. Upon collecting it, your ship will get smaller. These drop randomly, so this will be something that unlocks naturally as you play through the levels. This “power-up” makes the game slightly harder, so be sure to pick your spots when using this one.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

You Never Give Me Your Money

Decline to buy more health 10 times.

When you lose all of your hearts and die, you’ll be given the option to buy another life if you have at least 100 points. For this Trophy, do not buy the extra life. Choose “No” when given the choice. Repeat this 10 times.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Catch Me I’m Falling

Collect 1,000 pickups.

While playing through the game, there will be random Power-ups that will fall toward your ships. All you have to do is collect them. Every single coin and power-up will will count toward this. 1,000 sounds like a lot, but it goes by pretty quickly as you play through the various modes.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

I Alone

Destroy 80% (or more) of a stage’s bricks with Greetings or Salutations.

Greetings and Salutations are the names of your ships. For this Trophy, you need to break at least 80% of the bricks with one of the ships. When the Bouncer breaks a brick, whatever ship it touched last will be credited with destroying the brick. You can try to go out of your way to “favor” one ship, but this will most likely pop without having to actively try for it. This was the case for me.

It Only Took A Day

Beat all 40 stages in 24 Earth hours.

The 40 stages in level select is the story mode. You will have 24 hours from the second you start the game to beat it. So, when you start, make sure you’re going to have time to play through it completely. The 40 levels will not take that long. It can easily be done in one sitting. I did it one two and a half hour sitting.

Notorious

Earn 20 S-Ranks.

The S-Ranks are based on your score at the end of a level. There are only 40 levels so you don’t need to S-Rank every single one. If you’re stuck on a level, there is some wiggle room to quit and try a different level instead. Obviously, not dying will boost your score, but it is possible to still get an S after losing a heart or two in a mission. You can check what score you need by pressing “Options” during a level. Breaking bricks is not the only way to earn points. Here are some tips:

  • Grab all of the power-ups that you can because collecting them gives you points. You especially need to collect the 2X multipliers.
  • Killing Scarabs will net you 100 points.
  • Losing a heart will subtract from your score.
  • There is a time bonus, so finish as quickly as you can.
  • You will get more points per brick on New Game +.
  • Luck. Sometimes you’ll get better power-up drops. There’s nothing you can do about that other than get a little lucky. One play through of a level could be completely different than your next try based off of what power-up drops you get.

This can be tracked in the Stats section of the Trophy Room accessible from the main menu.

Two Princes

Destroy the same amount of blocks with Greetings and Salutations on one stage.

In order to get this Trophy, you will need to break the same amount of bricks with each ship on the same level. This can be a little tricky to try to do, but I was able to do it a few times without trying while playing through the 40 levels. Not every level will have an even amount of bricks, so this won’t be possible on every level. When you complete a level, the game will tell you how many bricks each ship destroyed. If you are actively trying to get this, do your best to try and use both ships evenly. Remember, the ship the Bouncer touched last will be credited with the destruction of a brick. The bricks are easier to break on Normal than on New Game +. Harder bricks can make this more of a pain than it needs to be.

Uncommon

Collect 10 different types of pickups on one stage.

This is another Trophy that will most likely pop naturally as you play. All you need to do is collect as many Power-ups as you can until you hit 10 in a single level. This will actually become a little easier in the later levels as there will be more bricks to break. More breaks means more chances for Power-up drops.

Surfacing

Survive and return to Earth.

This is an unmissable story related Trophy.

In Books

Unlock all 40 collectibles.

There are 40 collectibles in Twin Breaker. One for each level. In order to get a collectible, you will need to hit a certain score when finishing the level. You will need to get at least an A-Rank. You will know when you’ve collected one because it will say, “New Codex Available” at the score screen. You can check what score you need by pressing Square on the mission select screen.

You can track what collectibles you have unlocked by accessing the Trophy Room.

Break It Down Again

Beat New Game+.

New Game + will become available once you completed all 40 levels. Once you’ve done that, press Triangle on the mission select screen to turn NG+ on. You will need to beat all 40 levels again but on NG+. The level layouts will be the same, but the bricks will be a little harder to break this time around.

You can track what levels you’ve beaten on NG+ by checking if there is + next to your score on the bottom of the level select screen.

I Get Around

Leave no stone unturned.

This Trophy is earned by getting all 40 of the collectibles and by playing every game mode at least once. There are seven different game modes.
