Welcome to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Trophy Guide & Roadmap!
- 6/10 – Estimated Difficulty
- 100 – 120 – Estimated Hours to Completion
- 1 – Minimum Play-Throughs
- 1 is possible if starting on Death March difficulty.
- 11 – Missable Trophies
- 2 – Difficulty Related Trophy
- 0 – Online Multiplayer Trophies
This list has a good mixt of miscellaneous, completion, side quest and world activity Trophies. It’s a well done open world Trophy list. But it is a long list to complete and it can be made longer by having to play the game a second time for difficulty related Trophies.
One Playthrough
Everything here can be done in a single playthrough. You will have to set the difficulty to Death March from the very start. Death March is the hardest difficulty in the game. It must remain on until you beat the game. Do not turn it off until you’ve beaten the game. There are no workarounds for it. Fortunately, this difficulty is not too bad and can be managed somewhat easily, even on your first playthrough. All you have to do is beat the base game’s story. You can lower the difficulty after you have earned this Trophy (all the others will stack). There are no difficulty Trophies for the expansions. So once the story is done and the, “Walked the Path,” Trophy has popped, you can lower the difficulty.
While making your way through the story, you will need to be on the lookout for Gwent cards. These are the collectibles in the game and there are a lot. Whenever you come to a new town or village, check in with any merchants/blacksmiths/armorers and innkeeps. They will often times be able to play against you in Gwent. You’re going to need to beat most of them. When you beat them, they will give you a Gwent card(s). They’re are a lot of NPCs to play against, so go ahead and chip away at this as you make your way through the game. In addition to beating them, some innkeeps and merchants will also sell cards. So check their inventories as well. When you see cards for sale, buy them.
Outside of that, there are some Trophies that can be missed, unfortunately. There are decisions in some quests that can stop you from getting certain Trophies. These are tied to side quests and side plots. Those moments will of course be listed where relevant in the guide below. There is also a sort of soft point of no return in the game. This would be The Isle of Mists. A lot of questlines can be failed if they are not completed by the time you go to The Isle of Mists. This will be a main story objective and the game will remind you before going as well. So, make sure to keep that in mind and finish whatever you need to finish before going there.
As for the miscellaneous combat Trophies, there is a reliable farming location in Skellige that can be used for most of them. Try to chip away at those combat Trophies during the story and side quests, and then they can be easily cleaned up via the farming location post game.

Walked the Path
Finish the game on the “Death March!” difficulty level.
Death March is the hardest difficulty in the game and it needs to be set from the start. Here are a few tips for getting through the difficulty.
- Take fights slow and kite enemies away from groups.
- When an enemy attacks, use dodge or parry. The parry window is pretty forgiving. You can get attacks in right after a dodge or parry.
- Always activate Quen during fights. You’re going to want to spam this ability. This will shield you which will prevent you from taking damage. The shield goes away after it gets hit, or if it is active for a certain amount of time. You can back away from enemies to give your stamina time to recharge. When your stamina is full activate Quen again.
- Spam manual saves. You can save at (mostly) any time. If you die, you revert back to your most recent save file, so you want to be as current with those as you can. You’re basically making your own checkpoints by saving.
- Buy the Sun and Stars skill and apply it. This will slowly refill your health during the day.
- Increase the power of your attacks by buying skills and use mutagens to to strengthen them further.
- Get a set of Witcher school armor/gear set as early as you can.
- Use grindstones and armorer tables to add temporary buffs to your swords and armor.
- Interact with as many places of power as you can. They will give skill points as well as temporary buffs to your signs.
Geralt: The Professional
Complete all witcher contracts.
There are 25 witcher contracts to complete. These are acquired by interacting with notice boards or with NPCs found in towns and villages across the map. These are usually pretty short quests where you will need to kill a monster at the end. None of them are missable and can be completed at any time. Some of them will also have individual Trophies attached to them. If you’re playing on Death March, you can wait until after you beat the game to do these if you are worried about difficulty. Make sure you complete two of these contracts without using Signs, potions, mutagens, oils or bombs for the, “Even Odds,” Trophy.

Kingmaker
Complete the subplot about choosing Skellige’s ruler.
MISSABLE
Before you can do this, you will need to complete the main story quest, “The King is Dead – Long Live the King!.” You will also need to have done this Trophy done BEFORE you travel to the Isle of Mists as part of the story. Otherwise, it will be missed. Upon completing, “The King is Dead – Long Live the King!,” you will automatically be give two side quests, “Possession” and “The Lord of Undvik.” Complete them in any order you want. After finishing those two quests, you will be given a new quest, “King’s Gambit.” During this quest, you will need to choose who to help. Either Cerys or Hjalmar. Whoever you choose here will become the next ruler. It does not matter which one of the two you choose, but you need to choose one of them. If you don’t you’ll miss this Trophy as well as, “Full Crew.” Complete that quest and you will receive the final quest for this Trophy, “Coronation.” The Trophy will pop upon completion of Coronation.
Required Quests
- The King is Dead – Long Live the King (Main Quest)
- Possession
- The Lord of Undvik
- King’s Gambit (Choose to help either Cerys or Hjalmar)
- Coronation
Assassin of Kings
Take part in the assassination of King Radovid.
MISSABLE
This Trophy will take place in separate parts of the game. You need to start progress up until a certain point and then complete the rest later on after getting further in the main story. The first part of this questline needs to be completed BEFORE you travel to the Isle of Mists. Make sure you have completed everything up to, “A Deadly Plot.” Once that quest is done, then you can go to the Isle of Mists. Follow the quests below and complete them as soon as they become available to ensure they are not missed.
Make sure that the quests listed below are completed before you go to The Isle of Mists.
- A Matter of Life and Death
- Starts after Count Reuven’s Treasure.
- Redania’s Most Wanted
- Automatically starts after, “Get Junior.”
- An Eye for an Eye
- Available from Roche after you meet him in, “Get Junior.” Do not let Ves die during this quest.
- Now or Never
- Unlocks after, “A Matter of Life and Death,” and, “A Favor for Radovid.” (Main Quest)
- A Deadly Plot
- Automatically starts right after completing, “Now or Never.”
With the previous quests completed, progress the main story. You won’t be able to finish the assassination quest line until afterwards. From this point on, it is okay to travel to the Isle of Mists as long as the quests listed above are completed.
- Blindingly Obvious (Main Quest)
- Must choose peaceful dialogue options with Dijkstra (no violence) to unlock the final quest. You must resolve everything with Djikstra peacefully in order to get the final quest in the assassination quest line. Choose the following dialogue options.
- “I need her”
- “Tell you what the Emperor is after”
- “Heard it from Emhyr himself”
- “Let her talk”
- Reason of State
- This will become available if you resolved the situation with Phillipa and Dijkstra in, “Blindingly Obvious,” peacefully. You need to complete this quest before starting, “On Thin Ice,” main quest. Otherwise it will be failed.
Friends With Benefits
Complete the subplot involving Keira Metz.
MISSABLE
In order to earn this Trophy, you will need to complete the following quest line:
- Hunting a Witch – Main Story Quest
- Wandering in the Dark – Main Story Quest
- Magic Lamp – Side Quest
- An Invitation From Kiera Metz – Side Quest
- A Towerful of Mice – Side Quest
- A Favor for a Friend – Side Quest
- For the Advancement of Learning – Side Quest – At the end of, “For the Advancement of Learning,” you need to choose the dialogue option to send Kiera to Kaer Morhen. You have to do this for the “Full Crew” Trophy later on in the game.
Full Crew
Bring all possible allies to Kaer Morhen for the battle against the Hunt.
MISSABLE
There is a big battle against the Wild Hunt late in the story. In order to earn this, you’re going to have to recruit 7 allies to come and help you during the battle. In order to do so, you’re going to need to complete side quests tied to these characters. In addition to the steps below, you will need to complete all of the, “Brothers In Arms,” quests before the battle at Kaer Morhen. There are other characters that can be recruited, but they are optional. The ones listed below are the ones that are required for this Trophy.
- Kiera Metz – MISSABLE
Kiera Metz is recruited by completing her subplot. This is something that you will need to do in order to earn the, “Friends with Benefits,” Trophy as well.
-
- An Invitation from Keira Metz
- A Towerful of Mice
- A Favor for a Friend
- For the Advancement of Learning
In, “For the Advancement of Learning,” you must convince her to go to Kaer Morhen. Do not let her go to Radovid or kill her.
- Triss
Triss can be recruited by completing her subplot. Her subplot starts with, “A Matter of Life and Death.” Make your way through the subplot and complete it through, “Now or Never,” where you help the mages escape.
Complete her full romance/subplot:
-
- A Matter of Life and Death (romance optional but recommended).
- Now or Never
- Zoltan & Ermion
All you have to do for these two is ask each of them for help during the, “Brothers in Arms quests.”
- Vernon Roche & Ves – MISSABLE
- Progress the main story until you complete, “Get Junior.”
- Speak to Roche again afterward to start the side quest, “An Eye for an Eye.”
- Complete, “An Eye for an Eye,” while keeping Ves alive. She has to survive, otherwise this will be missed.
- During Brothers in Arms: Novigrad, talk to Roche. He and Ves will both join.
- Hjalmar – MISSABLE
- You have to help Hjalmar or Cerys become ruler of Skellige.
- Complete, “The Lord of Undvik” or, “Possession.”
- Then complete, “King’s Gambit,” and choose to help either Cerys or Hjalmar.
- You can then recruit him during, “Brothers in Arms: Skellige.”
You’ll need to follow those steps for the, “Kingmaker,” Trophy as well.
Dendrologist
Acquire all the Abilities in one tree.
In order to earn this Trophy, you will need to unlock every ability in one tree. You do not need to fully max out each one, you just need to unlock the first rank of each one. If you have enough skill points to do this all at once, you can make a save, unlock all of them, and then reload your save to get your ability points back. If you don’t have enough points, you can buy a Potion of Clearance from Gremist in Gedyneith. Drinking the potion is way to respec all of your ability points. Save your game before buying the potion, drink it, unlock all abilities in one tree to get the Trophy and then reload your save from before bought the potion.
The Enemy of My Enemy
Use the Axii Sign to force one opponent to kill another. Do this 20 times.
In order to earn this, you’re going to have to unlock and equip the Puppet ability from the Signs ability tree. Then when you come across enemies, use the alternate Axii sign (Puppet) on one of them. That enemy will now fight for you temporarily. Let the controlled enemy kill an enemy. The sign will wear off somewhat quickly, so make sure you’re ready to cast is again to get the enemy controlled again. You can fully upgrade the Puppet ability too. Doing so will increase the damage the controlled enemy does. You’ll need to repeat this until the Trophy pops. Fortunately, this is accumulative. You can work on it over the course of the game, or you can farm it.
There is a great place in Skellige to farm kills for combat related Trophies. There are 2 enemies that will infinitely spawn north of Trottheim. Leave Trottheim by taking the west path and then head north. Keep going north and there will be a spot where two enemies spawn on the right side. You can use these two enemies for whatever Trophies you need. Once you’ve killed them both, start to run away a bit and they will respawn. You can repeat this until you are done with the Trophy. If they don’t respawn, just meditate for 2 hours and they’ll be there again.
Humpty Dumpty
Kill 10 opponents by knocking them off somewhere high with the Aard Sign.
All you have to do here is use the Aard sign to push enemies off of ledges. They need to be killed by the fall in order for this to count. There is a great place in Skellige to farm these kills for the Trophy. There are 2 enemies that will infinitely spawn north of Trottheim. Leave Trottheim by taking the west path and then head north. Keep going north and there will be a spot where two enemies spawn on the right side. They spawn right next to a ledge with a big drop down to the ocean. Once you’ve killed them both, start to run away a bit and they will respawn. You can repeat this until you are done with the Trophy. If they don’t respawn, just meditate for 2 hours and they’ll be there again. Kite them close to the edge of the cliff and then use Aard to push them off.
Environmentally Unfriendly
Kill 50 opponents using the environment (e.g. swamp gas, insects or objects).
This Trophy can be earned by using multiple methods for killing enemies.
- Use Igni to ignite clouds of gas when an enemy is in the cloud
- Blowing up explosive barrels with Igni
- Knocking an enemy down with Aard and then killing them with
. This is the easiest way to go about this Trophy. As soon as you knock an enemy down on their back, quickly run to them and there will be a
prompt over them Press it and you’ll kill them by stabbing down with your sword.
Kaer Morhen Trained
Perform 10 effective counterattacks in a row without getting hit or parrying.
This can easily be earned during the training tutorial against Vesemir at the very beginning of the game. When you’re done with training, do not sheathe your weapon. Instead, keep the session going. You need to press
just before Vesemir attacks you to perform a counter attack. You need to do this 10 times in a row in order to earn the Trophy. If you run out of health while trying this, you will automatically get it refilled during training.
Can’t Touch This!
Kill 5 foes in a fight without taking damage (except for Toxicity) and without using the Quen Sign.
In order to earn this Trophy, you’re going to need to be in a fight with at least 5 enemies. There will be plenty of fights throughout the game where you’ll be up against more than 5 enemies at the same time. You’ll actually be attacked by groups of wolves somewhat often out in the wilderness and those packs usually have enough enemies. This does need to happen in one fight too. You also need to make sure you stay in combat here. If you exit combat, the counter will start over. Another thing to note here is that you cannot use Quen. So, you’re going to want to be dodging and blocking as best you can. If you have level scaling off, this can very easily be earned against lower level enemies.
That Is the Evilest Thing…
Ignite the gas produced by a Dragon’s Dream bomb using a burning opponent. Do this 10 times.
First, you’re going to need to get the formula for the Dragon’s Dream bomb. You can buy this from the Herbalist at the Herbalist’s Hut. Once you have it, craft them and then equip them. When fighting enemies, use Igni on them. They will sometimes catch on fire. When an enemy is on fire from Igni, quickly throw a Dragon’s Dream bomb at them. The bomb will release an explosive gas which will cause an explosion. You don’t need to kill the enemies like this, you just need to trigger the explosion for progress toward the Trophy.
Mutant
Fill all mutagen slots.
There are 4 different mutagen slots. These are the diamonds next to the abilities you have equipped. These gradually unlock as you level up. Mutagens are found by looting enemies and chests/containers/shelves etc. You can also craft them. As long as you are looting, you will end up with way more than enough. Once you have a mutagen slot unlocked, all you have to do is equip one. Equip one in each of the four slots to pop this Trophy.
- Slot 1 – Unlocks at level 4
- Slot 2 – Unlocks at level 9
- Slot 3 – Unlocks at level 16
- Slot 4 – Unlocks at level 28
Butcher of Blaviken
Kill at least 5 opponents in under 10 seconds.
This is something that can be done against any enemy type. If you have level scaling off, this can very easily be earned against lower level enemies. This can also be very easily earned against a pack of rats during the main story quest, “Now or Never.” You’ll go down into sewers with Triss and will come across an area full of rats. Make a save before attacking the rats just incase you don’t kill enough of them. You can wait for Triss to go down into the area and then use Igni on the rats when they swarm her.
Triple Threat
Kill 3 opponents in one fight using 3 different methods (swords, bombs, crossbow, Signs, etc.).
For this, you need to kill 3 enemies with 3 different methods in the same fight. You just need to have the killing blow be done from a different method. You can weaken enemies with your sword and then finish them off with a different method. Kill an enemy with your sword, weaken the next enemy and then use Igni to finish them off and then weaken the next enemy and throw a bomb at them to kill them. This all has to be done in the same fight, so make sure you don’t get too far away, or else the fight will end.
Brawler
Defeat Olaf, the Skellige champion of unarmed combat.
See the, “Brawl Master,” Trophy below for more details.
Overkill
Make an opponent suffer from bleeding, poisoning and burning simultaneously. Do this 10 times.
When going for this, you’re going to want to increase the difficulty level so that the enemy you are doing this to doesn’t die. The enemy doesn’t need to be killed for this, they just need to have all three status effects at the same time.
- Bleeding – Equip broadhead bolts for your crossbow. These will inflict bleed. They can be purchased from the blacksmiths in Oxenfurt and in Arinbjorn.
- Poisoning – Use the Devil’s Puffball bomb to inflict poisoning on an enemy. You can find the formula randomly, or it can be bought from the blacksmith in Oxenfurt.
- Burning – Buy the Pyromaniac ability and fully upgrade it. Make sure to equip that. You can also use the Dancing Star bomb to inflict burning, but you will need to quickly change equipped grenades if using this and Devil’s Puffball. So, Igni is easier to use.
There is a great place in Skellige to farm kills for combat related Trophies. There are 2 enemies that will infinitely spawn north of Trottheim. Leave Trottheim by taking the west path and then head north. Keep going north and there will be a spot where two enemies spawn on the right side. Once you’ve killed them both, start to run away a bit and they will respawn. You can repeat this until you are done with the Trophy. If they don’t respawn, just meditate for 2 hours and they’ll be there again. It can be done in any order as long as all three are active at the same time. You’ll need to quickly switch from the crossbow to the grenade (or vice versa) when going for bleeding and poisoning. Shoot the crossbow, switch to the bomb, throw it and then quickly cast Igni.
Master Marksman
Kill 50 human and nonhuman opponents by striking them in the head with a crossbow bolt.
This one can be a pain to get naturally over the course of the game, but it can be farmed very easily. First, you will need to unlock the Lightning Reflexes from the combat tree and Steady Shot ability from the general tree. Then, find some enemies.
When you’re there, unequip your swords. Punch the enemies to lower their health and then aim the crossbow at them and shoot them in the head. The crossbow headshot needs to be the killing blow. You’ll know you did it correctly when the screen shakes a little bit upon hitting the enemy in the head.
What Was That?
Attack, counter, cast a Sign and throw a bomb (in any order) in under 4 seconds.
This can easily be earned during the training tutorial against Vesemir at the very beginning of the game. When you’re done with training, do not sheathe your weapon. Instead, keep the session going. You want to start this with the counter attack, throw a grenade, cast a sign and then sword attack him as quickly as you can. If you run out of health while trying this, you will automatically get it refilled during training.
right before getting hit to counter attack
to throw a grenade- Hold
+
to cast a sign
to attack with your sword
Even Odds
Kill 2 monsters you have a contract on without using Signs, potions, mutagens, oils or bombs.
MISSABLE
There are 25 contracts and you’ll need to complete all of them for the, “Geralt: The Professional,” Trophy. For, “Even Odds,” you need to complete 2 of these contracts without using Signs, potions, mutagens, oils or bombs. So make sure to unequip everything before doing so just to make sure you don’t accidentally use anything. You can unequip the signs, so you’re going to have to just not use them. If you complete all of the contracts before getting this, the Trophy will be missed. So, you’re going to need to take combat slow. Attack after a dodge or parry and then back away to avoid the incoming attack. If you’re playing on Death March, you can save 2 contracts for the post game clean up. Once you’ve beaten the game and have earned, “Walked the Path,” you can then lower the difficulty and knock this Trophy out. But make sure you do that AFTER you have beaten the story on Death March first.
Globetrotter
Discover 100 fast travel points.
Fast travel points are sign posts. As you get near one, it will be automatically added to your map and available for use. This is something that will come naturally over time as you make your way through the base game. Main quests, side quests, treasure hunts and contracts will take you all over the map. The sign posts in the two expansions will count toward this too if you somehow don’t have this by then.
Pest Control
Destroy all monster nests in the Velen / Novigrad region, or in Skellige.
This is easiest done in Skellige as there are only 5 monster nests. All you have to do is go to each one and destroy them. When destroying them, you’ll want to use bombs to blow them up so that you make progress toward the, “Fire in the Hole,” Trophy. Kill the enemies surrounding the nest and then approach the nest and interact with the prompt to use a bomb. When you’re out of bombs, meditate to replenish them.
Card Control
Acquire all gwent cards available in the base version of the game.
MISSABLE
Gwent is a card game that you will need play for several Trophies. In order to build a stronger deck of your own, you will need to buy cards from shops and beat other Gwent players. When you beat a Gwent player, they will give you a card. There are quests that task you with beating certain characters. In addition to that, you will need to also beat unmarked characters. Unfortunately, there are some cards that can be missed. If you’re struggling with winning rounds of Gwent, you can turn down the difficulty of Gwent to easy. This will not void the Death March Trophy. Just make sure you only change the difficulty of Gwent. Do not change Death March.
See The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gwent Cards Locations guide for more details on where you get all of them.
Gwent Master
Defeat Tybalt and win the gwent tournament held at the Passiflora.
MISSABLE
Before going for this, you’re going to want to have won a lot of cards and have built a strong deck. The Gwent tournament takes place during the, “High Stakes,” side quest. If you lose a round during this quest, the Trophy will be missed. Fortunately, you can make a manual save between the rounds. If you happen to lose, just reload your save and try again. In order to get this quest, you will need to go to the Passiflora brothel right next to the St. Gregory’s Bridge fast travel point in northern Novigrad. Speak to the NPC marked with an exclamation point inside and pay 1000 crowns to enter the tournament. If you’re struggling with winning rounds of Gwent, you can turn down the difficulty of Gwent to easy. This will not void the Death March Trophy. Just make sure you only change the difficulty of Gwent. Do not change Death March.
Let’s Cook!
Learn 12 potion formulae.
This is something that should come naturally over time as you make your way through the game. Formulae can be looted from enemies/containers and bought from shops. As long as you are looting the areas you come to, you’ll find more than enough formulae for the Trophy.
Bombardier
Collect the formulae for 6 different bomb types.
Bomb formulae can be found by looting containers or by buying them from merchants. You’ll likely have a few, but if you don’t you can actually buy 6 bomb formulae from the Herbalist at Herbalist’s Hut in Novigrad. If you don’t want to spend the money, just make a save before buying them and reload after getting the Trophy.
- Dancing Star
- Devil’s Puffball
- Dimeritum Bomb
- Dragon’s Dream
- Enhanced Grapeshot
- Enhanced Samun
- Moondust
- Northern Wind
Bookworm
Read 30 books, journals or other documents.
As you travel from town to town, you’ll be looting all sorts of containers and rooms. While looting, you’ll often find books and notes. When you collect these, press
to instantly read them. Otherwise, you can read them from your inventory. All you have to do is open them and they will be counted as read. Just make sure to read them and this will come somewhat quickly as long as you are looting often.
Armed and Dangerous
Find and equip all the elements of one set of witcher gear.
There are certain sets of gear that are all matching
Griffin School Witcher Gear
- Griffin Silver Sword
The diagram for the Griffin Silver Sword are found half way up the tower near the fast travel point, Lornruk. It is in northern Velen. You will need to enter the tower via tunnel underwater and then climb up through the inside. There will be a doorway that leads to the wheel crank that lowers the drawbridge. Climb up the ladder near the wheel crank and loot the containers to find the diagram.
- Griffin Steel Sword
This is found at the top of a building at the Hindhold fast travel point. This is a small island north of Hanged Man’s Tree. It will be on a skeleton that you need to loot in a side room near the top of the building.
- Griffin Boots
- Griffin Armor
- Griffin Gauntlets
- Griffin Trousers
All four of the remaining diagrams are found inside of the same chest in Dragonslayer’s Grotto. At the end of the initial cave, there will be a wall that you can blow open with Aard. There will then be another hallway filled with gas. The chest is in the room at the end of the gas filled hallway.
Afterwards, you will need to craft everything and equip them all at the same time.
Power Overwhelming
Have all possible Place of Power bonuses active at the same time.
Places of Power are stones that you can interact with that will give you a temporary boost to your Signs. These are found spread across the various maps in the game. For this Trophy, all you have to do is have 5 bonuses active at the same time. One for each Sign. You’ll have plenty of time to reach all 5 as the buff period is a good amount of time. This can be earned shortly after the beginning of the game in White Orchard. You’ll know a buff is still active as it will be displayed on screen on the left.
Brawl Master
Complete all fist fighting quests in Velen, Skellige and Novigrad.
MISSABLE
The fist fighting quests will become available after completing the main story quest, “Bloody Baron.” There is a fist fighting quest for each region. Novigrade, Velen and Skellige. In order to get each quest, you will need to win a fist fight in each region. All you have to do then is track the quests and go to each location winning the fights. After all three quests are complete, you’ll then be given the quest to challenge the champion.
- Fists of Fury Velen
- Fists of Fury Novigrad
- Fists of Fury Skellige – After beating all three fighters in Skellige, you will then be able to fight Olaf, who you need to beat for the, “Brawler,” Trophy.
- Master of the Arena – You need to lose the fight to the Wraith in order to progress.
- Champion of Champions – Make a save before fighting the Champion. If you lose, reload the save and try again.
Fast and Furious

- The Heroes’ Pursuits: Fayrlund
- The Heroes’ Pursuits: Fyresdal
- Race: The Great Erasmus Vegelbud Memorial Derby – This is picked up in Hierarch Square after, or late into, the main quest, “Get Junior.” There are 4 races to win.
Munchkin
Reach character development level 35.
This is something that will come naturally over time as you make your way through the base game as well as the expansions. You’ll gain XP for killing enemies, completing objectives, completing quests, contracts and main quests.
Fire in the Hole
Destroy 10 monster nests using bombs.
As you make your across the various locations of the game, you’ll come across monster nests. When you do, kill the enemies surrounding the nest and then approach the nest and interact with the prompt to use a bomb. When you’re out of bombs, meditate to replenish them.
Fist of the South Star
Defeat an opponent in a fistfight without taking any damage.
This can easily be earned near the very beginning of the game after leaving the Inn in White Orchard. As soon as you step out after asking about Yen, you’ll be forced into a fist fight with an enemy. You can make a save before stepping out that you can reload if you take damage. Make sure to counter attack with
and punch when the enemy is vulnerable. Don’t be too aggressive with your attacks. Wait for him to come to you. Dodge or counter attack and then hit him. Even on Death March, it does not take that many hits to beat him. If you don’t get this at that point, don’t worry. There will be plenty of other opportunities throughout the game where you will be in fist fights.
Geralt and Friends
Win a round of gwent using only neutral cards.
This is something that will likely come over time as you win more cards and alter your deck. Neutral cards are cards that do not have a faction banner on the left side of the card. These are cards that can be added to any deck. You can have non-neutral cards in your hand, you just can’t play them. You also only need to win a single round, not the whole game. A good strategy for doing this is to play as many non-neutral cards in the first round as you can. Your opponent will play a lot of their cards in order to win. Let your opponent win the first round when they’ve played a lot of their hand. That makes them highly likely to not play anything, or very few cards, in the second round. Play you neutral cards in the second round. Your opponent will likely pass on their turn very early into the round making it an easy win and Trophy for you.
All In
Play three hero cards in one round of gwent and win the match.
This is something that you will very likely earn without having to go out of your way for as you beat Gwent players and collect all of the Gwent cards. Hero cards are cards that are based off of actual characters from the Witcher. The strength of their cards are black and orange. They are not effected by weather or scorch cards. You need to play at least three of them in the same round. By the time you’ve collected all of the Gwent cards, or the majority of them, you will likely have more than three. Just make sure you are adding them to your deck when you get them.
Shrieker
Complete the contract on the shrieker.
The Shrieker contract is acquired by taking it from the notice board in Crow’s Perch. The game’s recommended level for this contract is 8. All you have to do from there is track it and finish the contract. Make sure you have bombs to throw in its nest in order to flush it out before heading out for the contract.
Fearless Vampire Slayer
Complete the contract on Sarasti.
This is earned for completing the The Mystery of the Byways Murders contract. You can pick this up from the notice board in Oreton. The game’s recommended level for this contract is 22. All you have to do from there is track it and finish the contract.
Woodland Spirit
Complete the contract on the Woodland Spirit.
MISSABLE
This contract is started by visiting Farylund in Skellige. It is almost in the center of the main island near the northern coast line. Once there, walk through town until a scene starts to play. You’ll be given the, “In The Heart of the Woods,” side quest during the scene. This quest is the contract and it will actually be added to your secondary quests tab, not the contract tab. The game’s recommended level for this contract is 22. This Trophy can be missed, so make sure you have a back up save just incase it is missed. During the quest, you’ll be given a choice on who to talk to. In order to earn this Trophy, you need to agree to help Sven. To make things easiest, only speak to Sven during this quest. You have to agree to kill the monster. If you don’t, the Trophy will be missed.
Fiend or Foe?
Complete the contract on Morvudd.
This is earned by completing the contract, “Missing Son.” You can pick this up from the Rannvaig notice board in Skellige on the main island. It is near the center of the island to the northern coastline. The game’s recommended level for this contract is 29. All you have to do from there is track the contract and finish it.
Ashes to Ashes
Complete the contract on Therazane.
This is earned by completing the contract, “Doors Slamming Shut.” You can pick this up from the Hierarch Square notice board in Novigrad. The game’s recommended level for this contract is 24. All you have to do from there is track the contract and finish it.
The Doppler Effect
Resolve the doppler problem in Novigrad.
MISSABLE
This is earned by completing the contract, “Imp.” You can pick this up from the Hierarch Square notice board in Novigrad. This will then give you the quest, “An Elusive Thief.” The game’s recommended level for this contract is 13. The reason this Trophy is missable is because it is possible for the doppler to run away from you. There will be a part of the quest where you will need to chase the doppler. You have to catch him during the chase in order to not miss this Trophy. Do not let him get away. Catch him during the chase and then finish the quest.
