  • 4/10 – Estimated Difficulty
  • 15 – 20 – Estimated Hours to Completion
  • 1 – Minimum Play-Throughs
    • 1 with use of a strategic save near the end of the story.
  • 6 – Missable Trophies
  • 0 – Difficulty Related Trophy
  • 0 – Online Multiplayer Trophies

This expansion will take a little more time to complete than the Hearts of Stone DLC. There are some missables that you will need to be aware of. One of which is at the very beginning of the DLC. That would be, David and Golyat. Two of the missables are tied to two endings. The endings will come down to a single choice made near the end. So, you can make a save before the choice, finish an ending, reload the save and do the other ending. That will of course be noted in the guide below. The majority of the Trophies on this list are tied to various side missions, so you’ll be completing a few of those in order to finish everything here. You’ll be given a property to own during the story and there is a Trophy for fully upgrading it. This is going to cost 14,000 coins. So make sure you are saving up your coin for Playing House.

 The Witcher’s Gone South

Travel to the Duchy of Toussaint.

This is a story related Trophy.

 Last Action Hero

Be decorated with the Order of Vitis Vinifera.

MISSABLE

This Trophy as well as the, “Kling of the Clink,” Trophy are both tied to the end of the main story. You will be able to get both as long as you have a strategic save that you can reload. The steps on how to get both Trophies in a single run will be outlined below. First, we will start with, “King of the Clink.”

At the beginning of the, “Night of the Long Fangs,” story quest, you will be given two options on what you want to do. To set things in motion for getting both Trophies, you will need to select the dialogue choice:

  • “Considering freeing Syanna. Let’s talk to Damien.”
  • Follow Regis
  • Convince Damien to tell you were Syanna is located.
  • Go to the playroom and find the book

Beyond Hill and Dale Main Quest

  • Do not talk to the girl who sells flint for this ending.
  • Find all 3 beans.
  • Once you have all 3 beans, make a separate save file that you can reload for the other ending before planting the beans.
  • After you saved your game, plant the beans.

Tesham Mutna

  • Syranna will be killed by Dettlaff
  • You can either fight, or let Dettlaff go. That choice does not matter for the Trophy.
  • King of the Clink will pop now.

After getting King of the Clink, reload the save you made just before planting the beans.

Last Action Hero

Beyond Hill and Dale

  • Go speak to the girl who sells flint.
  • Get the ribbon from the girl. You can either buy it, or win it by beating her at Gwent.
  • Plant the beans once you have the ribbon.

Tesham Mutna

  • Kill Dettlaff.

Pomp and Strange Circumstance

  • Finish this quest and make whatever dialogue choices you’d like. The choices in this quest won’t change getting the Trophy, but they will change how the main story ends.

 Kling of the Clink

Serve time in Toussaint.

MISSABLE

See the, “Last Action Hero,” Trophy above for more details.

 A Knight to Remember

Obtain a flawless victory in all the competitions during the knights’ tourney.

MISSABLE

This is earned during the, “The Warble of a Smitten Knight,” side quest. You will be given this quest during the, “The Beast of Toussaint,” main quest. You have to complete, “The Warble of a Smitten Knight,” before you do the, “Capture the Castle,” main quest. Otherwise, it will be failed and you will miss this Trophy.

During this quest, you’ll be taking part in a tournament. For this Trophy, you need to win every single round of the tournament. If you lose a round, the Trophy will be missed. So, make sure to make a save between each round after you win so that you can reload if you happen to lose. You’ll be given a choice during the tournament. You have to choose the option, “Wanna finish the tourney.” If you don’t, you’ll miss the Trophy.

 Embodiment of the Five Virtues

Be given Aerondight by the Lady of the Lake.

MISSABLE

This is started by picking up the contract, “Test Yourself with the Trials of the Virtues!,” from the Notice Board in The Gran’place. This will give you the, “There Can Be Only One,” side quest. Go to the first objective to get this started. From there, you’ll be working on this quest by completing certain actions/choices in other quests. This will be tracking in the background as you work through the rest of the DLC. Various actions/decisions are tied to 5 different virtues. You need to prove yourself in each of these virtues. You do this by performing an action/choice. There are a lot of opportunities for each of the virtues, and you only need to do 1 for each. Its very likely that you will have completed some before even accepting this quest. When you have proven yourself in all 5, you can return to the lake to complete the quest and earn the Trophy. This is missable because it’s possible to do the opposite of the required virtue objectives. There are a lot, so it’s unlikely that you’d do the opposite of every single one, but it is possible. The virtues and what are required are listed below. Once you have completed 1 task from each of the 5 virtues, return to the hermit to finish the quest. If you track the quest, it will tell you which virtue you have not finished yet.

You only need to complete 1 task for each category.

Compassion

  • Spare the Shaelmaar’s life in the tourney during the main quest, “The Beast of Toussaint.”
  • Help Roderick when he is wounded during the main quest, “Capture the Castle.”
  • Let the Basilisk live and refuse more money from Count Borhis di Salvaress during the side quest, “Mutual of Beauclair’s Wild Kingdom.” (This will also count toward Generosity)
  • Lift the curse during the quest, “La Cage au Fou.” Tell Marlene she can live at Corvo Bianco during the side quest, “The Hunger Game.”
  • Let the old man keep the stones during the side quest, Goodness, “Gracious, Great Balls of Granite!.”

Generosity

  • Go to The Gran’place sign post. As you enter that area, you’ll be approached by a boy who will give you a letter. Tip the boy 5 coins.
  • Pay the bootblack 500 coins to help you during the, “Where Children Toil, Toys Waste Away,” main quest.
  • Let the Basilisk live and refuse more money from Count Borhis di Salvaress during the side quest, “Mutual of Beauclair’s Wild Kingdom.” (This will also count toward Compassion)
  • Buy or win the ribbon from the girl who sells flint during the, Beyond Hill and Dale,” main quest. Doing so will lock you into an ending, so please refer to Last Action Hero for more details on that.

Honor

  • Enter the tourney as Geralt of Rivia and accept the duel midway through the tourney when you are challenged. This is during the, “The Warble of a Smitten Knight,’ side quest.
  • Do not tell Guillaume Vivienne’s secret during the, “The Warble of a Smitten Knight,’ side quest.
  • Tell Charles they are no beasts in the cemetery during the, “Till Death Do You Part,” side quest.
  • Give the stones to the art curator during the side quest, Goodness, “Gracious, Great Balls of Granite!.”

Valor

  • After the scene with Vivienne in the woods, decide to finish the tourney during, “The Warble of a Smitten Knight,’ side quest. This is required for the A Knight to Remember Trophy.
  • Save Delwyn of Creigiau from the Katakan during the, “Night of Long Fangs,” main mission.
  • Kill Dettlaff during the, “Tesham Mutna,” main mission. This is part of an ending, so please refer to Last Action Hero for more details on that.
  • Kill the Tufo Monster during the, “The Tufo Monster,” contract
  • Kill the Slyzards during the, “Bovine Blues,” contract.

Wisdom

  • Guess the location of where Milton is hiding correctly during the, “The Beast of Toussaint,” main quest. The correct answer is, “Greenhouse.”
  • Lift the curse of the wight during the “La Cage au Fou,” quest.
  • Win the tournament during the, “Gwent: To Everything – Turn, Turn, Tournament!,” side quest.
  • Do not attack Hugo’s brothers at the end of the, “Father Knows Worst,” side quest.

 Playing House

Use all available options for developing Corvo Bianco.

As you progress through the main story mission, “The Beast of Toussaint,” you’ll be given a side quest called, “No Place Like Home.” Here, you will be given your own home at Corvo Bianco. While here, you can upgrade parts of your property. For this Trophy, you will need to upgrade every option of your home. There are 9 upgrades to buy and it is going to cost 14,000 total for everything. After buying 3 upgrades, you will need to wait 3 days before you can buy more. Fortunately, you can just meditate and quickly pass that time. After visiting for the first time, you will need to go on a tour of the property with your majordomo. You’ll be able to buy upgrades after that tour. If you want to get your money back, make a save before purchasing all of the upgrades and then reload it when you are done.

  • House Renovation – 5,000
  • Stable – 2,000
  • Garden – 2,000
  • Guest Room – 1,000
  • Bed – 1,000
  • Grindstone – 1,000
  • Armor Repair – 1,000
  • Weapon Rack – 500
  • Armor Stand – 500

 Turned Every Stone

Find all grandmaster diagrams for each witcher school.

This can be started by reading the contract, Grandmaster Armorer, from the Notice Board next to The Gran’place sign post in Toussaint. After grabbing the contract, read it and you will be given the, “Master Master Master Master!,” side quest. Track this quest and it will lead you to the armorer, Lafargue. Speak to him and ask him for the locations of all 6 grandmaster armor sets. Doing so will give you several Treasure Hunts. One for each school of grandmaster armor. Track each one and collect them all. The hunts will mark their locations on your map. The locations of diagrams will also have notes that you need to read in order to get the next diagram marked on your map. You do not have to craft all of them, just collect the diagrams.

 I Have a Gwent Problem

Collect all the cards in the Skellige deck.

Fortunately, acquiring Gwent cards in Toussaint is much easier than in the base game. They will all be marked on your map and none of them are missable. In order to start working on this Trophy, you will need to challenge the Innkeep at Cockatrice Inn to a match of Gwent. Beat him to get his card. You will also be given the, Gwent: Never Fear, Skellige’s Here, and, Gwent: To Everything – Turn, Turn, Tournament!, side quests. Gwent: Never Fear, Skellige’s Here, will mark the locations of every Gwent player with a card on the map. Play and beat each one to collect all of their cards. Gwent: To Everything – Turn, Turn, Tournament!, will give you the rest of the deck that you don’t win from playing NPCs. So do both in order to collect all of the cards in the deck.

 The Grapes of Wrath Stomped

Help unite the warring vineyards and have a wine named in your honor.

MISSABLE

This Trophy is earned by completing several side quests in a certain way. This can be a tricky Trophy to earn, so make sure to not advance the required side quests too far. Otherwise, the Trophy will be missed.

You can start this questline by picking up the, “Announcement from the Office of Internal Revenue of the Duchy of Toussaint,” note on the Notice Board at the Cockatrice Inn. This will give you the, Wine Wars: Belgaard, side quest. From here, you’ll need carefully advance the following quests in a certain way.

  • Wine Wars: Belgaard

Go to the place where the auction will be held. As you reach the objective, you’ll find two NPCs arguing. During the conversations, agree to help both of them. You’ll be given the, “Wine Wars: Coronata,” and, “Wine Wars: Vermentino,” side quests. Once you have accepted both of these quests, do not come back and speak to either Matilda or Liam.

  • Wine Wars: Coronata

Deal with all 5 problems at the Coronata Vineyard. Read the letter found at the camp with the dead NPCs, but ignore the optional objective for searching Vermentino. Deal with the problems until you have reached 5/5. Once that is done, DO NOT turn the quest in. Instead, switch over to, Wine Wars: Vermentino.

  • Wine Wars: Vermentino

Deal with all 5 problems at the Vermentino Vineyard. Deal with the problems until you have reached 5/5. Once that is done, DO NOT turn the quest in. Instead, make sure to read the letter found on one of the bodies at one of the objective locations. From here, you’ll be given a new quest, Wine Wars: The Deus in the Machina. Switch over to that.

  • Wine Wars: The Deus in the Machina

Find the place mentioned in the letter > Search the warehouse using your Witcher senses > Talk to Liam and Matilda. Now that this quest is complete, it is safe to return to Liam and Matilda. Speak to them both and tell them you know the saboteur is. From here, agree to help them and then you will be given the, “Wine Wars: Belgaard,” side quest.

  • Wine Wars: Belgaard

Solve all 5 of the vineyard’s problems. With all 5 done, return to Liam and Matilda. After speaking to them, meditate for 3 days and then speak to them again to finish this off and pop the Trophy.

Dressed to Kill

Unlock the bonus for equipping all the witcher gear elements from one School.

This can be earned after doing the, “Turned Every Stone,” Trophy. For this Trophy, you will need to craft and equip every piece of grandmaster gear for 1 of the Witcher schools. It would be easier to craft the Manticore set. If you do the others, you will need to craft all the of the previous versions of the sets. But the Manticore gear set will count for this and there is only set of it. Go to the armorer Lafargue south of the The Gran’place sign post to craft the gear. You may want to make a save before doing this so that you can reload afterwards to get your money and materials back. Your money will especially be crucial as the, “Playing House,” Trophy requires a lot of money. After you’ve crafted everything, equip all the pieces at the same time and the Trophy will pop.

Read the letter and then track the quest it gives you. At the end of the quest, you’ll be able to craft mutations in the Character menu. Craft any mutation to pop this.

 David and Golyat

Kill Golyat with a crossbow bolt to his eye.

MISSABLE

This is earned when you first enter Toussaint as part of the story. You’ll automatically be in a fight against Golyat. You need the killing blow to be from your arrow hitting him in the eye. Just aim for the hole in his helmet on his face. Hitting him in the eye will kill him right away. It does not matter how much health he has left. If you don’t get it, quickly reload a previous save file and try again.
