Welcome to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gwent Cards Collectible Guide
Gwent is a card game that you will need play for several Trophies. In order to build a stronger deck of your own, you will need to buy cards from shops and beat other Gwent players. When you beat a Gwent player, they will give you a card. There are quests that task you with beating certain characters. In addition to that, you will need to also beat unmarked characters. Unfortunately, there are some cards that can be missed. If you’re struggling with winning rounds of Gwent, you can turn down the difficulty of Gwent to easy. This will not void the Death March Trophy. Just make sure you only change the difficulty of Gwent. Do not change Death March.
When speaking to someone, check if they have a Gwent dialogue option. If they do, play them and win. Just about every Innkeep will be able to play Gwent. The cards you get from playing Innkeeps will be random. There are four separate pools of card collecting here. The first is buying cards from shops and innkeepers. These are set cards. The second is rare cards that are won by playing against some of the more major characters. These are also set cards. The third pool of cards are won by completing Gwent specific side quests. The last pool of cards are the cards you win from playing Innkeeps and other merchants. These cards will be random. They will fill in everything you are missing randomly until you have them all.
You can also win or buy a book that will track how many Gwent cards you have, and how many are remaining. It won’t tell you any specifics, just how many are left. It is called, “A Miraculous Guide to Gwent.” You can get it by beating Aldert Geert at the White Orchard inn, but before completing Lilac and Gooseberries. If you didn’t get it there, you can buy it from a merchant next to the notice board near the St. Gregory’s Bridge sign post. The book will then be in your quest items inventory.

MISSABLE The other quest you will need to look out for is, “High Stakes.” This won’t come until much later in the game. It is a Gwent tournament. You’ll want to beat, “Gwent: Old Pals.” and, “Gwent: Big City Players,” first. The quest can be started by taking it from the notice board near St. Gregory’s Bridge after, “Pyres of Novigrad.” If you lose during the tournament, you will be out and the cards will be missed.
