Star Wars Episode 1: Racer Trophy Guide

Episode 1 Plat Image

Welcome to the Trophy guide for Star Wars Episode 1: Racer! This Platinum is a very easy one to obtain while experiencing some nostalgia from this Nintendo 64 re-release. Your first step here would be to just finish first in all 25 races. Simply winning all of the races will automatically earn you a majority of this list. Most of these will just come without going too far out of your way.

Important:

Before starting your first race, switch the winning payouts to “Winner Takes All.” You’ll need to win every race with this setting on in order to be able to afford the best upgrades. You cannot earn anymore money (Truguts) after completing all of the races. On the screen that shows you the map of the track, use L3 to go down to the winnings and go right to select more options on how the pay is distributed. Select “Winner Takes All.” Just to be safe, do not buy anything except for the upgrades needed. If you don’t have enough money by the time you’ve completed all of the races, you will need to start a new game on a different save file. So, if you’re going to lose a race, simply restart it and try again before it finishes.

Cheats:

There are cheats available in this game and they do not disable *most* Trophies. However, using the cheat that unlocks all cheats will also unlock all of the racers which will prevent you from earning their respective Trophies. If you use that code, don’t worry. The character specific Trophies can still be earned on another save file. You are not locked out of them.

To input a cheat, select an empty save file slot. Instead of putting your initials, hold L2 and then enter the codes. Do not select the letters with X, this will count them as an initial. Instead, while holding L2, select each letter with L1. You’ll then see the code being spelled out in the bottom left corner of the screen. Once you have entered the full code, select “End” with L1 to input them. If entered correctly, “OK” will show up where the code was being entered.

  • Unlock Every Cheat: RRTANGENTABACUS
  • Invincibility: RRJABBA
  • Debug Menu: RRDEBUG

Now, in order to access the codes, start up a race and press Left, Down, Right, Up on the D-Pad and the “Game Cheats” option will show in the start menu. Here you can select what you want to turn on. This game is totally doable legit, but the codes are an option if you’d like.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide This is Podracing

Finish your first race.

This Trophy will come automatically. Finish the first race. Simple enough.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Light speed

Reach 700 MPH.

See the Trophy “Kessel run” for more details.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Kessel run

Reach 1000 MPH.

This is a Trophy that may come as you’re winning all of the races, but if it doesn’t, it can easily be earned. I was able to unlock it by using Bullseye Navior on the Andobi Mountain Run in the Galactic Podracing Circuit. There is a pretty long straightaway in this track. When you reach it, fire your boost and hold it until you hit 1000 MPH.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide May the first be with you

Come in first place.

Another automatic Trophy that will come while completing the races. This will likely come in your very first race as the difficulty is pretty easy.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Don’t count on it, slimeball

Taunt your opponents.

Pretty simple Trophy here, all you have to do is press Triangle at any time during a race to taunt the other drivers.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide It’s a new lap record

Set a new lap record.

Another automatic Trophy that will come while completing the races. This will likely come in your very first race. As long as you’re in first and haven’t crashed, you’ll likely set the lap record.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Mind tricks don’t work on me – only money

Purchase your first upgrade.

See the Trophy “You came, you looked around, you bought” for more details.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Inkabunga!

Complete a Boost Start.

In order to perform a Boost Start, you need to press and hold R2 and forward on L3 just as the 1 on the timer disappears right as the race is about to start.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Bantha poodoo

Hit 10 enemies with Sebulba’s weapon.

First, select to race as Sebulba. Then all you have to do is double tap Triangle to use the weapon. Fire will shoot out of the side of one of his engines. Get right next to another racer and activate it to hit them.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Bullseye

Unlock “Bullseye” Navior.

This is a Trophy that will unlock automatically as you’re working your way to finishing 1st in every race.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide The devlikk is in the details

Unlock Wan Sandage.

This is a Trophy that will unlock automatically as you’re working your way to finishing 1st in every race.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Woohoo

Perform a boost.

See the Trophy “Eat my exhaust” for more details.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide The fastest racer in the galaxy

Finish all races in first place.

There are 25 races to finish first in and this Trophy is completed in Tournament mode. The races for the most part are not that difficult to win. For me, Bullseye Navior was the best racer to get this done. There are a few tracks that can be tricky, but there’s nothing super difficult here. Buy Pit Droids as soon as you can. They’ll keep your racer repaired which will help with the racer’s performance. The first two Circuits are doable without upgrades, but you’ll need some to get through the rest of the game. Stick to the upgrades needed for the “You came, you looked around, you bought” Trophy if you do not have it. It’s also a good idea to take a few practice runs to learn what shortcuts or alternate routes are most effective to use. That will be needed in the later tracks. If you do end up stuck, there is always the cheat menu to make things easier on you.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Brake check

Unlock Teemto Pagalies.

This is a Trophy that will unlock automatically as you’re working your way to finishing 1st in every race.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Cell block racer

Unlock Fud Sang.

This is a Trophy that will unlock automatically as you’re working your way to finishing 1st in every race.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide You came, you looked around, you bought

Purchase all of the best upgrades.

As mentioned above in the intro, you won’t have much wiggle room here, so do not spend too much on other upgrades and be sure to set every race to “Winner Takes All.” You’ll get a small “discount” on trading in the part you’re replacing, but it doesn’t really make that much of a difference in the price. The upgrades you need will be made available for purchase as you complete and win races. All of the upgrades needed are listed below.

  • Turbo Coolant Pump – 5,400
  • R600 Repulsorgrip – 6,000
  • Cluster 2 Power Pump – 7,000
  • Control Stabilizer – 7,500
  • Mag-6 Injector – 14,000
  • Quadrijet Air Break – 14,000
  • Block6 Trust Coil – 20,000

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide Eat my exhaust

Taunt during a boost.

To perform a boost, push L3 up and hold it there until the meter on the bottom right side of the screen files up and the circle turns yellow. It’ll say “BOOST.” Then, hold X to boost. While you’re boosting, press Triangle to taunt.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide It’s working! It’s working!!

Repair your engines from “warning” back to stable as Anakin.

First, you’ll need to select Anakin to race with. Then, hold down your boost until your engine catches fire. Release it and then hold R1 to repair the engine.

If you are finishing first in every race, there is enough wiggle room here to buy the three droids in addition to all of the best upgrades on the same save file.

Star Wars Episode 1: Trophy Guide An especially dangerous Dug

Win a race with Sebulba.

After unlocking Sebulba, select him to use in a race. Win any race with him and you’ll pop another easy Trophy.

  1. Another save file in the menu or delete save files of the game on my ps4 and restart? Do i need to complete all races again for these trophies?

    1. It can be another save file in the menu. You will need to complete the races again ONLY if you completed them all while having used the RRTANGENTABACUS cheat. If you did, you’ll need to complete them again without that cheat on in order to unlock the Trophies that are tied to unlocking drivers.
