John Wick Hex Trophy and Achievement Guide

Welcome to the Trophy guide for John Wick Hex! There are not that many Trophies to earn here and the majority of them are tied to completion and scores. There are scores after each chapter and you will need to hit four different categories in one playthrough to earn the “Baba Yaga” name in every chapter. To shave a playthrough off, play in Expedited mode from the start. Doing this will earn you two Trophies each time you finish a chapter. Don’t worry about going for the “Baba Yaga” rankings until after you’ve played through the game. You’re going to need to really get a hang of the game before attempting those scores.

Overall, this is a strangely difficult Platinum to earn. It’s not so much that game is hard, but due to enemies that seem to randomly pop into existence and enemies that’ll sometimes attack before their timer hits 0, there is a broken mechanic layer of difficulty here.

John Wick Hex Tips:

  • Not every level has a finite number of enemies. They will just continue to spawn until you advance far enough.
  • Everything in this game takes time. Each of your attacks, attacks from enemies, each weapon, walking, healing and waiting all take different amounts of time. Be sure to keep an eye on how long your attack will take compared to an enemy’s.
  • Throwing your weapon at an enemy is a good way to quickly disrupt an attack from an enemy.
  • If an enemy is about to fire and you’re too far away to interrupt, change the sight line. You can quickly walk around a corner or object in the room to cancel out the enemy’s attack as they no longer will be able to see you.
  • Keep an eye on your ammo count. When you start getting low, switch weapons. Always switch your weapons out.
  • The weapon you start with can be reloaded.
  • Prioritize enemies equipped with weapons. Take them out first. Enemies that do not have weapons are easily taken out. Once melee combat is engaged, you can take them out fairly quickly without taking damage. Even if there are multiple unarmed enemies around you, focus on one until they are dead and then attack the next. Other unarmed enemies will try to attack you, but as long as you’re attacking someone, your attacks will cancel out theirs. You can then just knock them out one at a time.
  • Crouching and rolling is an effective way to increase your chances of not getting shot if you’re being fired at.
  • In the bigger open areas, stay to one side. If you go up the middle, enemies from all sides will spawn and you’ll be surrounded. Chances are it will be game over if that happens.
  • Like your attacks, each weapon requires a different amount of time to fire. For the majority of the game, you’re going to want to stick with your default weapon or the pistol dropped by enemies.
  • When you use the Takedown attack, you’ll have to pick an area where you’ll end up when the attack ends. Pick a spot to finish that is behind cover.
  • Don’t advance too far at once in an area. This is another way to get overwhelmed and surrounded. Take small steps to try and spawn fewer enemies at a time.
  • Refocus at any chance you get.
  • The game likes to continuously spawn enemies near the end goal. There’s not a whole lot you can do here but continue to kill them until you get an opening to reach the goal.

Rumors Abound

Earn the Baba Yaga name in Chinatown.

In order to get the “Baba Yaga” name, you will need to beat all of the PAR scores.
Completing each category will earn different names, but completing them all at once
will earn “Baba Yaga.” You will need to be as quick and accurate as possible.
Pausing the game will pause the clock. The clock only counts actual gameplay. You
will be given your score upon completion of a chapter. If you take too long in a
section or take too much damage, you can “Restart” the section you’re in to try
again. Every move has a set time and that is what will be added to your overall total for a chapter. If you catch yourself doing too much, restart the section. It’s gonna take a few replays of a chapter to learn the enemy spawns and what route is easiest for you. Time to beat: 3 minutes 25 seconds.

to start the section over. This will only restart the section you’re currently on. It
won’t start the entire chapter over.

Directed Anger

Earn the Letun name in any location.

In order to earn the “Letun” name, you will need to complete a chapter in under the
PAR time. Each chapter has a PAR time listed in the final score.

Guns. Lots of Guns

Earn the Zmei Gorynych name in any location.

In order to earn the “Zmei Gorynych” name, you will need to use multiple weapons
throughout a chapter. The weapon you start with will count as one and then all you
need to do is pickup weapons defeated enemies drop. Each chapter will have a set
number of weapons that will need to be used. The required number will be listed on
the score screen after completing a chapter. They will also be listed in each of the
Baba Yaga Trophy descriptions above.

Sharp Shooter

Earn the Alyosha Popovich name in any location.

In order to earn the “Alyosha Popovich” name, you will need score above the required
accuracy percentage. Each chapter will have a required accuracy percentage that will
that need to be met or exceeded. The required percentage will be listed on the score
screen after completing a chapter. They will also be listed in each of the Baba Yaga

Clipped

Kill someone by throwing a gun at them.

This Trophy can be earned on the very first enemy of the game. Get close to him and
choose the “Strike” option to damage the enemy and then select the “Throw Gun” option
 to finish him off.

Survivor

Complete a location with under four bars of health remaining.

All you need to do for this is finish any chapter with less than four blocks of
health. This is something that will most likely happen without trying, but if not,
let an enemy damage you near the end of a chapter until you’re under four blocks.
Kill him and finish the level.

Change of Heart

Kill someone using two or more guns.

This can easily be earned against either a boss, or one of the stronger enemies. The
stronger enemies will have a line above the triangle marker above their head. Simply
shoot them with the weapon you have at the time and then go and pick up a different
one and shoot them again. You can backtrack to anywhere in the section to look for
another weapon if need be.

87eleven

Use a takedown, a strike and a push on the same enemy.

This Trophy can be earned during the first boss fight. You will need to melee him
in order to drain his Focus meter. Get in close to him and just go down the list
using each attack. Your melee attacks won’t damage his health, so this is very easy
 to knock out here.

Wasteful

Reload a gun which is only missing one round.

Your handgun will fire two shots at an enemy with full or mostly full health. So,
at the beginning of a level, go to the first enemy and select the “Strike” option.
This should leave the enemy with only one health bar left. With only 1 health bar,
select the “Shoot” option to finish the enemy off using only one shot. After that,
press Square and then reload your weapon.

Excommunicado

Begin a new game at 6pm.

Load up the game and wait at the title screen. Press the PS Button so that the clock
shows up in the top right corner of the screen. Wait for the clock to hit 6:00 and
then immediately start a new game. The Trophy will pop in the following loading
screen.

This can be earned by manually adjusting your PS4 clock if you’d like.
