Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Definitive Edition Trophy & Achievement Guide

Welcome to the Trophy and Achievement guide for the Definitive Edition of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas! Most of this list is the same as the older re-released PlayStation 2 version of the game. Some Trophies/Achievements have been removed and news ones have taken their place.

This is an overall easy list to complete, but it will require a decent amount of time to finish. If you’ve been playing through the other GTA games in the Definitive Edition, you should start to notice a pattern between all of the Trophy/Achievement lists.

You can go about this list in whatever order you like. Just make sure to keep an eye out for the missable Trophies & Achievements that are tied to story and asset missions.

Missables

Unfortunately, there are a three missable Trophies and Achievements that you will need to keep an eye out for. None of them are overly difficult, but just be sure to keep a manual save after each mission just in case you miss something.

  • Who Needs Directions?
  • They Can’t Stop All of Us
  • Assassin

Cheats? Nope!

Unlike the PlayStation 2 version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas that was released with Trophies, you cannot use the classic cheat codes. Using any cheats will disable Trophies and Achievements.

Unmetal platinum trophy

 Getting Started

Complete “Big Smoke”.

This is a story related Trophy/Achievement.

 With Extra Dip

Buy 8 meals from Cluckin’ Bell throughout the game.

Go to any Cluckin’ Bell restaurant and buy any meal from the menu. You can knock this out by buying eight meals in the same visit.

In order to get this in one visit you will need to buy a meal, eat it, re-enter the interaction circle and then buy another meal. Repeat that eight times and this will pop.

 The End of the Line

Complete “End of the Line”.

This is a story related Trophy/Achievement.

In order to get this mission to show up, you will need to control at least 35% of the gang territories.

This is the final mission of the story. You can make this a little easier on yourself by having completed “Rescue a Kitten Too?.” You will no longer take damage from fire after you’ve completed the Firefighter mission.

 Hoopin’ it Up

Score at least 30 points in the basketball mini-game.

This can be earned at the basketball court near Sweet’s house. The courts are right by the Cluckin’ Bell.

Go to the court and start Challenge Mode and score 30 points.

 A Legitimate Business

Export all three car lists.

Before you can unlock the export lists, you will need to do a few things first.

First, you will need to score at least bronze on each of the Driving School tests. After that, you will need to complete the mission “Customs Fast Track” for Cesar.

After completing those things, you will then have access to the export lists.

There are 30 different car types across three different lists that you will need to bring to the docks in San Fierro. When you finish one list, the next one will become available.

When you bring a vehicle to the list, you will need to get out and enter the crane. You’ll need to use the crane to pick up the vehicle you brought and drop it on the marked location on the ship.

Reach maximum weight.

For this, you should make a completely separate save file before attempting to do this. You’re going to need to spend some money on food and then eating all of it will alter your character. So, you’ll want to reload your save file after popping this.

The meals will only count for half progress if you eat too much and throw up.

There are a few steps to take here.

  1. Go to any restaurant where you can buy food and buy 10 of the $10 meals.
  2. After that, go to a different restaurant and order another 10 meals.
  3. Save your game to advance the in game clock
  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 until this pops.

After you pop this, you can reload your save from before you started to get your character back to the way you had him.

 The American Dream

Purchase any house.

See “Ain’t Nothing but a G Thing” below for more details.

 Pay ‘n’ Spray

Use a Pay ‘n’ Spray with wanted level.

This is something that you will automatically unlock while playing through the missions.

If you want to knock this out earlier, park next to a Pay ‘n’ Spray and wait for a cop. Drive into the cop’s car or run him over to get wanted. Then, just drive into the Pay ‘n’ Spray to paint your car and lose your wanted level.

Bike or Biker

Complete BMX or NRG challenge.

BMX and NRG are two different challenges that you can complete on a motorcycle or bicycle. For this Trophy/Achievement, you will only need to complete one of them. However, you will need to complete them both in order to obtain 100% game completion.

Both of these challenges will have you riding through checkpoints called coronas. Each corona will add 10 seconds to your overall timer. You will need to finish the course before your clock runs out.

You will need to have your cycle skill at 20% before you are able to compete in the BMX challenge, but you should wait to do this until you have your cycling skill at 100%. Some of the coronas will require you to bunny hop to them, but they will be out of your reach. You won’t be able to get them until you’re able to bunny hop to the maximum height.

 Who Needs Directions?

Find Mike Toreno without any of the referenced locations during “Mike Toreno”.

MISSABLE

The “Mike Toreno” mission is given to you by Jizzy. It is the third mission in his questline. Make sure to save the game before attempting this just in case you miss it.

When you start to drive, drive straight to the airport. Don’t go anywhere else. Don’t follow the mini map GPS as it will take you to the places you want to avoid for this Trophy/Achievement.

The game is going to tell you to go to other locations, but you need to ignore that. Just go straight to the airport.

 Liberty City State of Mind

Complete the “Saint Mark’s Bistro” mission.

This is a story related Trophy/Achievement.

 Swiss Army Strife

Max all weapon skills.

This applies to all of the firearm weapons. Melee weapons do not count for this. Heavy weapons also do not count.

This is something that you can earn progress for while playing through the story and completing side activities. In order to max out weapon skills, all you have to do is use them. Anytime you use a weapon, you’ll be gaining progress toward it.

Shooting NPCs and vehicles will raise your weapon skill. You can also do weapon training at some Ammunation locations that will also increase your weapon skills.

 School’s Out

Fully complete a vehicle school.

This is something that you will automatically unlock while playing through the missions.

For this Trophy/Achievement, you will only need to complete one of them. However, you will need to complete them all in order to obtain 100% game completion.

If you want to knock this out earlier, you can. There are actually several vehicle schools that you can take part in to unlock this.

    • Bike School
    • Boat School
    • Driving School
    • Flying School – This will be required to complete during the story and will unlock this Trophy/Achievement if you don’t already have it.

 Horror of the Santa Maria

Drown.

This is one of the more easier Trophies/Achievements you’ll ever earn.

Get in a car and drive it into anybody of water. Stay in the car and wait for your health to run out.

They Can’t Stop All of Us

Sneak into the underground base without setting off the alarm above ground during “Black Project”.

MISSABLE

This is earned during the mission “Black Project” and it will be given to you by The Truth. Make sure to save the game before attempting this just in case you miss it.

For this, you’re going to want to take the sniper rifle and the silenced pistol with you. Make sure you have a lot of ammo for the sniper rifle.

When going through this mission, you’re going to want to take it slow and stay quiet. Be sure to stay crouched and avoid the spotlights when working your way through the mission.

The safest way to get through this is to just take out all of the guards. The sniper rifle will make that very easy.

As soon as you enter, there will be three guards on the ground level near you that you can take out with the silenced pistol. After that, you can start taking out the rest of the guards from a safe distance by using the sniper rifle. There will be more guards on the ground level and up in the guard towers. They will all be marked on your map as red icons. Red squares mean they are on the same floor as you and red triangles mean they are above you.

Once all of the guards have been dealt with, you can proceed with the mission and continue on to the objective.

The required section for this Trophy/Achievement ends when you get a checkpoint after entering the underground section in the center of the base.

Finish the mission and this will pop when you deliver the jet pack.

If you get spotted, just let them kill you so you can restart the checkpoint.

 Smooth Moves

Perform a perfect dance routine.

This can be earned at any of the nightclubs where you can dance at or during the mission “Life’s a Beach.”

During this mini game you’re going to have to press the buttons on the D-Pad that show on screen when they enter the middle circled area.

You can do two things here. You can try to get a perfect score for the entire song, or you can take the easier way out. Play the dancing mini game until it says “Perfect” at the top of the screen and press Triangle/Y to end the dance. Exit out as soon as it says “Perfect” and this will pop.

 What the City Needs

Complete 12 levels of Vigilante.

In order to complete this, you’re going to need a police vehicle. While in a police vehicle, press Up on the D-Pad to initiate the vigilante mission. Do not end the mission at all or else you’ll have to start over.

Each time you complete a level, a more criminals will be added. You will also add more time to the timer.

You can do this in a police car, police motorcycle, tank or Hunter helicopter.

You can get the tank from Area 69. The Hunter helicopter can be unlocked by earning a gold score on each of the flying school tests.

When going for the tank, you’ll end up with a high wanted level. So, drive the tank to the airfield hangar and park it inside of the garage. Then, go inside and save your game to lose your wanted level. You can then go and grab the tank from your garage and begin the vigilante mission.

 Saviour

Complete 12 levels of Paramedic.

In order to complete this, you’re going to need an ambulance. While in an ambulance, press Up on the D-Pad to initiate the paramedic mission. These missions require you to pick up injured NPCs and drop them off at the hospital. Completing a level will add more NPCs to your route, so this will get a little overwhelming with patients, but it’s not too hard. You’ll be on a timer and you can add time by picking up and dropping off NPCs.

You will need to reach and complete level 12 in one Paramedic mission. Do not get out of the ambulance or press Up on the D-Pad to end it. Drive carefully as to not damage your ambulance. If it catches fire, your mission will be ended.

You can only fit three passengers in your ambulance at the same time. So when you get the locations of the patients, look at your map and plan out a route that makes the most sense to get them all while also dropping them off to make room in your ambulance.

You can also click in R3 to turn on your siren. Traffic will get out of your way and cars will stop at intersections when you drive with the siren on.

 Rescue a Kitten Too?

Complete 12 levels of Firefighter.

Get in a fire truck and press Up on the D-Pad to initiate the missions. Once you initiate the mission, you’ll be given a destination that you will need to reach where a fire will be burning. You will need to put out the fire by using the truck’s hose. You will also be on a timer while doing these missions.

You will need to reach and complete level 12 in one Firefighter mission. Do not get out of the fire truck or press Up on the D-Pad to end it. Drive carefully as to not damage your fire truck. If it catches fire, your mission will be ended.

These missions require you to put out fires burning through out the city. Completing a level will add more fires to your route, so this will get a little overwhelming with fires, but it’s not too hard. You’ll be on a timer and you can add time by putting out fires.

 Yes I Speak English

Reach 50 fares in Taxi Mode.

You will need to first get a taxi. You’ll have no problem finding one of these as they are very common across San Andreas.

Get in a taxi and press Up on the D-Pad to initiate the missions. An NPC will be marked for you to pick up. Once you pick up the NPC, you’ll need to take them to their marked designation in a certain amount of time. You do not have to do 50 of these at once. You can string together however many you want until you reach 50 total. You can press Up again to end the taxi missions.

 Lucky Spinner

Win at least $1,000 in a single spin of the Wheel of Fortune.

Before attempting this Trophy/Achievement, you should make a manual save. You don’t want to lose too much of your money if you don’t hit right away.

Go to a casino and find a Wheel of Fortune table. Place a bet will pay out $1,000 if it hits. For example, you can place $1,000 down on $1 or $100 on $10.

Whatever it is, it doesn’t matter. Just as long as you win $1,000 in a single spin. This may take a few tries.

 What Happens in Las Venturas…

Complete “Yay Ka-Boom-Boom”.

This is a story related Trophy/Achievement.

All Dressed Up for San Fierro

Complete “The Green Sabre”.

This is a story related Trophy/Achievement.

 Not a Player

Go on at least one date with every potential girlfriend.

For this, all you need to do is take them out on a date. It does not matter if the date goes well or bad. As long as you take them out, it will count.

There are six potential girlfriends that you can take out. Two of them are story related. The other four spawn at specific times during the day and each of them have certain requirements that you will need to meet in order to take them out on a date.

However, there is an easy solution around meeting all of their requirements. If you collect all 50 oysters, they will all go on a date with you regardless of if you meet their requirements or not. You will need to collect all 50 oysters for 100% game completion anyway.

This is not missable and can be done after the story if you’d like.

 What are the Odds

Win a race in Inside Track Betting.

There are two Inside Track Betting locations that you can earn this at. All you have to do is enter one of these and place a bet. It’s totally random as to if you will win or not. You can bet the minimum to save some money. You can also make a save before betting just in case it takes a while to win. You’ll be able to reload and get your money back.

 Double or Nothin’

Put all your money or the maximum bet on red or black and win.

Go to any casino in Las Venturas and play roulette. Bet the maximum allowed at the roulette table and choose red or black. This is another Trophy/Achievement that is completely random on if you will win or not. Just keep betting until you win.

You can make a save before doing this just in case you lose too much money trying to win.

 Assassin

Stealth kill all enemies in the mission “Madd Dogg’s Rhymes”.

MISSABLE

Make sure to save the game before attempting this just in case you miss it.

First, you should know that you will need to perform stealth kills on every guard here. If you swing your knife at them, that will not count. You have to use the stealth kill option by holding L2 + pressing R2/LT + pushing RT.

Stay crouched and kill the enemies from behind.

    • Knife the first enemy in front of you.
    • Knife the next enemy in the pool room.
    • Hide in one of the dark side rooms when prompted to. Wait in here for the enemy to walk by and then knife him.
    • Continue on into the bar room. Knife the enemy behind the bar. He may see you coming down the hallway, so stay close to the wall on the left.
    • From the bar, head over to the couch in the same room and knife the enemy sitting on the couch. You can get him from behind the couch.
    • Continue down the hallway and then cut into the room to the left with the body armor. There is an enemy down this hallway that you can get behind and knife by using the room with the body armor.
    • Enter the room with the rhyme book and grab it. Stay hidden behind the shelves with the recording equipment next to where the book was. An enemy will eventually enter the room that had the body armor across the hall. Sneak up and knife him. Make sure to pick up his silenced pistol.
    • Backtrack to the bar room and kill the guard in the doorway. You can shoot him with the silenced pistol.
    • Enter the room and shoot the enemy on the couch and the enemy behind the bar.
    • Continue backtracking. There will be an enemy in the next hallway after the bar room. He may be looking in your direction, so carefully look around the corner. Take him out when you get the chance.
    • Go back to the pool room to find another enemy.
    • You can now exit. This will pop after leaving.

If you get spotted, just let them kill you so you can restart the checkpoint.

 Original Gangster

Reach maximum respect.

There are a few things you can do to earn respect.

You can earn respect points by completing missions, capturing rival gang territories, killing rival gang members and by killing police. You can also gain extra respect by wearing green colored clothing.

You can actually lose respect points as well. You can lose respect if you lose territory and kill members of your own gang.

This really isn’t something you’ll have to worry about. This will more than likely pop while you work your way through the rest of this list and 100% game completion.

 Today Was a Good Day

Go 24 hours (in game) without breaking the law, being wanted, killing or harming anyone.

Get somewhere safe and just set the controller down. Don’t do anything. Just set the controller down and wait for an in-game day to go by and this will pop.

 Public Enemy No. 1

Reach 6 wanted stars.

The easiest way to earn a six-star wanted level is to use the tank. The tank can be taken from Area 69 after progressing through the story.

Once you’re in the tank, just go nuts. Start shooting cop cars with the cannon. Keep doing this until your wanted level hits 6 stars. The only way the tank will be destroyed is if it flips over. Things will get more and more hectic the higher your wanted level gets, so that makes the tank perfect for this Trophy/Achievement.

 Chick Magnet

Achieve maximum sex appeal.

Your sex appeal stat will fluctuate up and down as you play through the game and edit your CJ.

Here is what can affect your sex appeal.

    • The car you’re driving including the condition of it
    • The clothes you’re wearing
    • Your hairstyle
    • Fat Stat
    • Muscle Stat
    • Tattoos

In order to raise this stat, go buy the most expensive clothes. The store Didier Sachs sells the most expensive clothing in the game. Go there and load up on clothing. After that, find one of the nicer sports cars. Keep an eye out for cars like the Banshee, Comet or ZR-350.

If you still aren’t at 100%, collecting all of the oysters will raise your sex appeal. You can also try raising your muscle stat and lowering the fat stat.

The car you drive will only add to your sex appeal while you’re in it. So, this will likely pop upon entering a higher end sports car.

 Ain’t Nothing But a G Thing

Own all gang warfare turfs, properties and have $1,000,000.

There is quite a bit that you’re going to have to do for this, but You’ll need to do it for 100% game completion anyway.

The properties won’t be fully available until reaching certain points in the story.

It is also important to wait to do this until later in the game. There will come a point in the story where you will lose all of your gang territory. So, wait until after that point to start owning all gang territory. Otherwise you’d have to do that twice. It is recommended to start going for this after returning to Los Santos later in the game.

There are 57 gang territories for you to own and you can own them by winning a gang war. Enter a gang territory and kill 3 rival gang members while on foot to initiate the gang war. All you will have to do then is survive three waves of enemies. After that, the territory will be yours.

In addition to owning everything, you will also need to have at $1,000,000. That shouldn’t be a problem later in the game when going for this.
