The Last of Us Part 1 Trophy & Collectible Guide

Welcome to the Last of Us Part 1 Trophy guide! This package includes both the original game and the single player downloadable content, Left Behind. Despite there being two campaigns, there is only one Trophy list. Left Behind does not have its own list, as it is required for the Platinum. It is recommended to play Left Behind after beating the main game, but it ultimately does not matter which order you play them in.

The majority of this list is collectible based. By the time you earn the Platinum, you’ll have completely picked this game clean. Although there are a lot of collectibles, nothing is missable. If you happen to miss something, you can always come back and clean up whatever you missed via chapter select.

When it comes to the collectibles, the collectibles from both the Left Behind DLC and the main game count toward the collectible Trophies. So you’ll need to find them all in both.

The list is mostly the same as the original game, but there are few new things added to it. The list has actually been made considerable easier as the difficulty related Trophies have been removed. This means that you can play on any difficulty you want. That also means that everything can completed in a single play-through.

Another Trophy that has been removed is the Trophy for upgrading every weapon. You no longer have to do that. All you need to do is fully upgrade one weapon. It does not matter which one you upgrade. There is now a Trophy for upgrading every melee weapon. This is going to cost Binding and Blades. Those are needed to make shivs for shiv doors, so make sure you are thoroughly searching every area for supplies so that you have enough for both the doors and weapons.

Combat Ready

Fully upgrade a weapon

Unlike in the original game, you will need to upgrade only one weapon. Last of Us veterans will recall that the PS3 and PS4 Trophy lists required all weapons to be upgraded. This is not the case on PS5.

In order to upgrade weapons, you will need to find Parts and Tool Kits. Parts are the item required for the actual upgrade and Tool Kits are needed to unlock the next upgrade tier for weapons.

Parts can be found anywhere and you will come across them as you scavenge the areas for resources. You will often find large deposits of Parts behind Shiv doors. You’ll need all of the Shiv doors for the Platinum anyway, so don’t worry about missing those.

Tool Kits are found like collectibles, but these are usually found in areas where they would be hard to miss. Five is the maximum level, but there are actually more than five to be found in a playthrough, so there is some leeway if you miss a few.

When you have enough Parts and Tool Kits to upgrade a weapon, you will then need to use a workbench to perform the upgrade. These are found pretty frequently through out the game. You’ll come across these when searching for all of the collectibles anyway.

Build Em Up, Break Em Down

Upgrade and then break one of every melee weapon

Melee weapons degrade as you use them until they eventually break. There are many different melee weapons to be found and you’ll come across these as you explore and scavenge the carious areas. You can usually found a few in and around combat areas.

For this, you’re going to have to first upgrade the melee weapon and then attack enemies with it until breaks from repeated use. You’re going to have to do this for each of the melee weapons that can be upgraded.

The melee weapon upgrade recipe is below:

    • Melee Weapon + Blade + Binding

The following melee weapons can be upgraded:

  • Baseball Bat – Commonly found throughout the game.
  • Hatchet –  A hatchet can be found propped up against cover after picking up the Plant Schematics collectible. This is when Tommy’s Dam is under attack right where Buckley the dog was laying.
  • Pipe – Commonly found throughout the game.
  • 2 X 4 – Commonly found throughout the game.
  • Machete – A Machete can be found in the same room as the Cornered Note in the Sewers.

Geared Up

Craft every item

As you play through the game, you’re going to be scavenging for resources. The resources you find can be used to craft items. All you have to do is craft at least one of every item. There are only six items to craft.

While this is missable, this is something you’ll likely do even if it wasn’t a Trophy. Just be sure to be thorough in areas and find all of the resources that you can. Playing on higher difficulties will impact how many resources are found.

Chapter: Bill’s Town – High School Escape.

You will need to find the Note from Frank and give it to Bill. He will read it and then throw it on the ground. In order to earn this, you’re going to need to pick it after Bill throws it on the ground.

Lights Out

While in stealth, turn off the spotlight generator in Pittsburgh

Chapter: Pittsburgh – Escape the City

This can be earned in Pittsburgh while you’re with Henry and Sam. Ellie will wake up Joel and then you’ll need to follow Henry out of the room you’re in. You’ll go down a few flights of stairs and then enter a lobby area where there will be human enemies patrolling inside and out. You and Henry will take out two enemies with a double take down.

The spotlight in question is outside of this lobby. It’s pretty hard to miss being that it is night time. The generator is below the spotlight itself in front of the structure the spotlight is on.

You will need to stay crouched and move carefully through this section. Watch out for enemies and their patrol routes. If you need to use weapons, make sure they’re silenced, use the bow or stealth takedowns. Also, make sure to avoid the spotlight. If it sees you, the enemies will be alerted.

Sneak up to the generator directly below the light and interact with it to turn it off. If you’re spotted, reload the checkpoint and try again.


Waterlogged

Ride the sewer contraption with Henry and Sam

Chapter: The Suburbs – Sewers

While in the sewers, you will eventually come to a section where you and your group will need to cross a large section of water.

First, Joel will need to jump in and swim underwater to the big closed gate and remove the debris that’s preventing the gate from being opened. After the debris is removed, Henry will open the gate and allow you to swim through.

Swim through to the other side and exit the water via the half submerged staircase directly in front of you. Go up the stairs, turn left and climb up the short ladder. Follow the path to the pallet. Interact with the pallet to drop it in the water.

Get back in the water and swim with the pallet back to your group.

Have Ellie get on the pallet and then carry her across to the generator. Position the pallet up against the section of the generator platform where water is pouring out. As soon as Ellie climbs off the pallet and onto the platform, immediately swim back to where Henry and Sam are waiting. You can hold  to swim and run faster.

Quickly get out of the water and stand on the platform that Henry and Sam are standing on. Ellie will turn on the generator and the platform you’re on will carry you, Henry and Sam across the water to where Ellie is.


Left Hanging

Leave Ellie hanging after a job well done

Chapter: Tommy’s Dam – Hydroelectric Dam

The scenario will be part of the story. Choosing to not high five her, is not.

You’re going to need to find a way to get across the rushing river.

The walkway you’re going to use will be in two parts. You’ll need to interact with a handwheel and raise one half of the bridge you’re going to use. After that, jump into the water and swim under to find a pallet. Bring the pallet to Ellie and carry her over to the other side of the river.

Ellie will get off the pallet and use the second handwheel to raise the other half of the bridge. Swim back to the first handwheel that you used and then cross the bridge.

When you get to the other side, Ellie will put her hand up and ask for a high five. In order to get this Trophy, you cannot give Ellie a high five. Just ignore it and continue walking by her.


Who’s A Good Boy?

Chapter: Tommy’s Dam – Hydroelectric Dam

You will eventually meet Tommy at the dam as part of the story. After Tommy tries to give Joel the picture of Sarah, Tommy will escort you through his camp at the dam.

As you follow Tommy through the dam, you will eventually walk by Buckley the dog laying on ground next to the wall of a building. Interact with him to pet him and pop this Trophy.


Nobody’s Perfect

Played the Jak X game in Left Behind

Chapter: Fun and Games

You must interact with this game BEFORE you interact with The Turning arcade machine. You’ll automatically leave the arcade when you’re done with The Turning.

Go up the escalator near the carousel and at the top you will see Raja’s Arcade on the right. Enter the arcade and go to the back left corner of the room to find the Jak X game. It will have a racing seat and steering wheel.

All you have to do is interact with the machine and Ellie will automatically play it.


Brick Master

Win the brick throwing contest

Chapter: Mallrats

As soon as you exit the Halloween store, Riley will run ahead of you and then stop to look over a railing. Here, she will challenge you to the brick throwing contest.

You’re going to have to break seven windows on the red car before Riley can break all the windows on the blue car by throwing bricks. After you throw a brick, quickly find the next one on the ground near you and keep throwing them. You will have only a few seconds to aim and line up your throws, so be quick.

You will need to break the back window, two side windows on the right, the windshield, the window on the roof and two side windows on the left.

If Riley is beating you or you mess up, quickly restart the checkpoint and try again.

Defeat Black Fang without getting hit

Chapter: Fun and Games

Go up the escalator near the carousel and at the top you will see Raja’s Arcade on the right. Enter the arcade and find “The Turning” arcade machine on the right side of the arcade. Interact with the machine to begin the game.

The machine itself will be broken, but Riley will help you play.

In order to earn this, you’re going to have to complete the mini game by pressing the correct button or button combo that appears on screen.

If you take any damage, restart the checkpoint and try again.


 Skillz

Win the water gun fight

Chapter: Fun and Games

You’ll enter the water gun fight as part of the story.

In order to earn this, you’re going to have to win two out of three times against Riley. You will need to shoot Riley first to win.

If you’re having trouble with this, you can set the difficulty to a lower setting and use the Listen Mode to see where Riley is. Restart the checkpoint and try again if you’re about to lose.


Live Bait

Use bricks or bottles to lure an infected into attacking a human

Chapter: The Enemy of My Enemy.

There will be combat encounters in Chapter 5 that have both human and infected enemy types. When both are present, pick up either a brick or a bottle and throw it near the human enemy. The noise will attract the infected enemy over to the human. The infected enemy will then attack the human when spotted.

Not only is this needed for the Trophy, but this just a very helpful tactic that should be used regardless. Especially if you’re playing on a higher difficulty.



Collectibles Walkthrough

All of the collectibles will be listed here in the order that they are found. The miscellaneous Trophies will be listed here as well. This guide will everything in both the main game and Left Behind DLC. There are a lot of collectibles and the majority of the Trophy list is tied to them.

When it comes to the workbenches, all you need to do is interact with them and then back out of it to have it marked as “complete.” Each of the safes need to be opened. Everything else is picked up like a normal collectible except for the optional conversations which will require to hear each of them.

For shiv doors, you want to make sure you always have enough shivs on you in order to open them. Do not use your shivs in combat. Save them for the doors.

If anything is missed, you can go back through via chapter select to clean things up. Chapter select will become available after completing the story.

Before you do chapter select, make sure you have a back up save file of your main save. When you choose a chapter, the chapters after it will become locked. So, to get around that, you will need to have an extra save file where everything is available.

The collectibles across both Left Behind and the main game count toward the collectible Trophies. It is recommended to play Left Behind after beating the main game, but it ultimately does not matter which order you play them in.

  • Chapter 1 – Back in a Flash

Combination Note – This is found in Weston’s Pharmacy. Crouch under the half way open door and go right. This note can be found behind the counter. You will need to come through here as part of the story.

Pharmacist’s Note – Exit the pharmacy and go to the American Princess doll store. Go to the very back left corner to find a body propped up against the wall surrounded by fungus. Search the body to find a key. After you get the key, the body will shift and fall slightly. This collectible will then appear on the ground next to the body. You will need to come through here as part of the story.

Salon Note – This aptly named collectible is found in the nail salon in the snowy section. You will need to come through here as part of the story to find medical supplies. Interact with the body to pick up the medical supplies. After grabbing the supplies, look down to find this note near the legs of the same body.


  • Chapter 2 – Mallrats


Wanted Poster – Follow Riley through a hallway and you both will duck under boards on a doorway. There will be graffiti painted on the wall to the right of this doorway that says, “Rise up! Fight Fedra”. As you enter the room, run straight to the back of the room to see a table in front of three big windows. The Wanted Poster is on the table.

Optional Conversation #1 – Continue following Riley and you eventually have to shimmy across a gap in the floor. After that, you will need to climb through a big hole in the wall to enter a new room. Climb through the hole and continue following Riley. After passing the kitchen, enter the bedroom on the left. You’ll see a Firefly logo painted on the wall above the bed. Interact with the logo to initiate the conversation.

Optional Conversation #2 – Drop down into the mall and go down the escalators. At the bottom of the escalators, immediately turn around to go under the floor you just came down from. Look to the left to see an advertisement on the wall for a trip to Hawaii. The poster will say, “Affordable Getaways”. Interact with the poster.

Optional Conversation #3 – From the previous conversation location (#2), turn around and head toward the escalators. Go up the hallway and stay on the left side. From the left side, look to the right to see a bright blue advertisement for a water gun. Interact with the advertisement. This is found a short distance from the base of the escalators.

Optional Conversation #4 – Continue following Riley until you go down another escalator. There will be a Fedra tent at the bottom. Riley will stop walking and the prompt for this conversation with her will become available.

Optional Conversation #5 – After the previous conversation (#4), go inside the Fedra tent. Enter the tent and go straight to the back and the prompt will appear above the magazine on a shelf.

Optional Conversation #6 – Exit the Fedra tent and go straight to the saddle in front of you from the tent draped over the bench.

Optional Conversation #7 – This conversation takes place in the Halloween store. Go to the back right corner of the store. You should see a jar of eyeballs up on a shelf. You can interact with it for this conversation.

Optional Conversation #8 – This conversation takes place in the Halloween store. After the previous conversation (#7), turn around and Riley will come out of a coffin trying to scare you. Follow her around the corner. She’ll change masks and then this prompt will appear over her head.

Optional Conversation #9 – This conversation takes place in the Halloween store. After the previous conversation (#8), turn around from Riley and go down the middle aisle. Put on the mask that is on the shelf on the right in this aisle and then look at Riley for this conversation.

Optional Conversation #10 – This conversation takes place in the Halloween store. After the previous conversation (#9), go around to the front aisle and put on another mask found on the shelf. Look at Riley and the conversation will automatically begin.

Optional Conversation #11 – This conversation takes place in the Halloween store. After the previous conversation (#10), go to the Skeleseer display a short distance away from the mask you just put on. It is set up on a counter in front of a window. Interact with the skull on the purple pillow. You’re going to need to continue interacting with the skull several times. Exhaust all options with the skull and wait for Riley to interact with it.

Brick Master bronze-trophy-dgg – After leaving the Halloween store Riley will challenge you to breaking the car windows. Break all seven of the windows on the red car before Riley can break all of hers. If you’re behind, quickly restart the checkpoint and try again.

Optional Conversation #12 – This conversation is unlocked by beating Riley in the brick throwing game.

Warning Note – After the brick throwing game, you’ll follow Riley down some flights of stairs. At the bottom, Riley will go straight down a hallway. Instead of following her, you’re going to turn left into a set of open double doors. There is a big pallet of brown boxes on the right of this hallway near the door you need. Enter the room and go straight. This note is on the back counter.


  • Chapter 3 – So Close


Atrium Note – This is found in the atrium. This is is the area where the glass ceiling is broken and snow has fallen inside. You will pass through the Atrium when you are on your way to getting the medical supplies from the helicopter. In the atrium, this note is found on the ground in the back corner in front of a food stand. The front of the crashed helicopter is pointing in the direction of the note. Pick this up before turning on the power for the gate.

Generator Note – You will need to interact with the generator as part of the story. The Generator Note is conveniently found next to the generator just to the left.

Atrium Recorder – This is found after restoring power to the locked gate in the Atrium. Go through the now opened gate and up the escalator. Go left at the top of the escalator to go under a make shift tent to find this note on the ground next to a bed.

Medical Supplies – Story related.


  • Chapter 4 – Fun and Games


Optional Conversation #13 – You and Riley will eventually come to the carousel. Go on it an interact with one of the horses to get on it and ride.

Joke #1 – After the carousel ride ends, Riley will give you the pun joke book. When you get off the horse Ellie will have the book open and you’ll be able to tell jokes. In order to get this, you will need to tell every joke until there are none left. Keep telling jokes until Ellie says “that’s enough.”

Optional Conversation #14 – Immediately after telling all of the jokes, Riley will mention that the photo booth still has power. Go over to the booth and interact with it. Go down a small set of stairs that take you behind the broken down escalator with the overgrown plants across from the carousel.

Kitchen Note – This is found in the Fast Burger food stand across from the carousel. Hop over the counter and go into the kitchen to find the Kitchen Note on a counter.

Nobody’s Perfect bronze-trophy-dgg– Go up the escalator near the Fast Burger and carousel. Look to your right to see Raja’s Arcade at the top. Go in and head to the back left corner of the arcade to find the Jak X arcade game. Interact with the game. You have to do this BEFORE interacting The Turning arcade game.

Angel Knives bronze-trophy-dgg – Go to the right side of arcade and interact with The Turning arcade machine. Correctly press every button and button combo that appears on screen to avoid taking damage. If you take any damage, restart the checkpoint and try again. Make sure you do this AFTER playing the Jak X game.

Skillz bronze-trophy-dgg – You’ll take part in the water gun fight as part of the story. Shoot Riley first two times out of three to win the fight.


  • Chapter 5 – The Enemy of my Enemy

Crew Photo – This can be picked up after getting the supplies from the crashed helicopter. From the helicopter, run straight and then go right to the giant hole in the floor. At the giant hole, go left. Look to the right side of this wide corridor for an open door along the wall. The door will say “No Entry” above it. Go through this door and follow the path around that goes left. This photo can be found on the ground in the top corner near a body.

Duct Recorder – After the encounter against the human enemies shortly after the previous collectible, continue through a hallway until you find the open air duct. You have to go this way for the story. Crouch into the duct and follow the trail of blood to a body and the note. Do not descend out of here until you have picked up the note.

Live Bait bronze-trophy-dgg– Chapter 5 will feature a lot of combat. There will be some combat encounters that have both human and infected enemies. When in an encounter with both types, pick up a brick or bottle and throw it near a human enemy. The noise will get the attention of the infected enemies and they will attack the human. This can be done at any combat encounter that has both enemy types. The first time this can be earned is right after coming out of the air duct where you found the previous collectible.



Last of Us Part 1



Chapter – The Quarantine Zone

  • 20 Years Later

Conversation #1 – When you get out on to the street you’ll see a security checkpoint on the left side of the street. Across from that checkpoint, there is a man and a woman talking next to two newspaper stands on the right side of the street. Interact with them to get this conversation.


  • Beyond the Wall

Artifact – Military Pamphlet – Story related.

Artifact – Boston Q. Z. Map – Story related.

Conversation #2 – After getting your gear, continue following Tess. You two will eventually climb out of a hole and into a restaurant. Exit the restaurant to go outside. Tess will go ahead and then stop to wait for you just outside of the doorway. Interact with her for this conversation.

Firefly Pendant – David Michael Vigil – Shortly after the previous conversation, you will need to find and use a ladder to climb up and into an apartment. Go through the doorway on the top right. Tess will go toward the stairs, but don’t follow her yet. Enter the other room through the door to the right of the stairs where Tess is. This pendant is found on the floor next to a mattress.

Conversation #3 – Continue through the building and you will eventually come to an area with spores in the air. You’ll have to crouch through a small tunnel. This will be on the body in the small tunnel.

Artifact – Note to Brother – Continue following Tess through the apartment building. You’ll eventually have an encounter with an infected enemy where you can use a stealth takedown. Exit the encounter area by going up some stairs. At the top of the stairs, you’ll see big planks bridging a hole in the floor. There is a blown out wall to the left of those planks revealing a room. Go into the room to the left of the planks and open the closed the door. Follow the path in this next room around to find this note on a table.

Firefly Pendant – Ben Glueck – Continue following Tess through the area. You will eventually need to get a big plank to bridge a gap inside of another building. Cross the plank and follow Tess outside. You both will drop down a half destroyed staircase into an outside area. Follow Tess through a narrow walkway with a waist high cement wall that you can hop over. Hop over the wall and then crouch under debris shortly after. After crouching under the debris, you’ll come to an area with a white couch in front of you. On the left side of this area is a tree. Look up into this tree to see the pendant hanging from a branch. Shoot the pendant or throw a brick/bottle at it to get it down.


  • The Slums

Artifact – Drafting Notice – Follow Tess and you will eventually come to the slums. Follow the path through the slums and you will have to cross through a bus. When you exit the bus, don’t follow Tess. Go straight and look to the left. This note is found on the ground in front of a table.

Artifact – Wanted Poster – From the previous collectible, this poster is nearby on a board on a shipping container next to a chain link fence.

Artifact – Shipping Manifest – Continue on until you come to a large combat area along the water. There will be lots of places for cover, shipping containers and a big warehouse with a boat and enemies in it. This note is found outside of the warehouse on the right side. The note is on the ground in front of the railing next to a blue square container.

Artifact – Dock Note – From the previous note, go inside of the warehouse and go to the right side of the suspended boat. This note is found on the ground next to another railing and the same type of blue container as the previous note.


  • The Cargo

Conversation #4 – After you meet Marlene, you’ll need to clear out a bridge area of enemies. After the enemies are all dead, Marlene will go out to the bridge section and stand near some bodies. Go speak to her

Firefly Pendant – Philip Liu – This is picked up immediately after the cutscene where Joel and Tess first meet Ellie. In the first area after that scene, it’ll just be Joel and Ellie. Straight across from you will be a sign that says “Alliance Real Estate”. A dead Firefly soldier will be on the ground directly under that sign. Interact with the body to get this pendant.


Chapter – The Outskirts


  • Outside

Artifact – Tess’ List – When you regain control of Joel in the apartment at night, you’ll see Tess standing in front of you looking out of the window. Immediately turn around and enter the room Joel walked out of in the cutscene. This note is on a table with a lantern.

Conversation #5 – From the previous collectible, turn around and go speak to Tess while she’s looking out the window.

Artifact – Patrol Routes Map – Shortly after the previous conversation, you’ll interact with a generator and go down an elevator. As you get off of that elevator, there will be a hole in the wall to your upper left which is where you need to go to continue the story. Before you go through that hole, look to the right to find this note on the ground next to a pallet that is propped up against the wall.


  • Downtown

Artifact – Evacuation Leaflet – This is picked up after getting by all of the patrols above ground and through the sewers. When you’re clear of that enemy filled section, you’ll head to the right and you’ll pass by a yellow Interstate 93 sign. The very next area will be an intersection. Go to the top right corner of the intersection to find this note on the ground next to a traffic light pole.

Firefly Pendant – Joseph Lenz – Continue on the story path you come to the base of the skyscraper that you have to enter. Don’t enter the building just yet. Instead, look right and you’ll see two trees. This pendant will be hanging from the first tree on the right. Shoot or throw a brick/bottle at the pendant to get it down.

Conversation #6 – From the previous pendant, enter the building. As soon as you go through the doorway inside, there will be a dead soldier on the ground with a conversation prompt on him.

Artifact – Field Ops Log – From the previous conversation, go through the doorway and up the stairs to the right and you’ll find another dead soldier. This note will be laying next to the body.

Shiv Door #1 – This is found immediately after getting ambushed by a clicker and being saved by Tess. When you get up, go into the doorway right next to the clicker’s body. There are a few vending machines in here. Go through the door on the left in the room and then head straight for the door. Craft a shiv and use it to open this locked door.

Artifact – Firefly Map – Make your way through the building until you make it to the very bottom. There will be a dead body on the ground next to some benches holding a molotov cocktail. Go past the body and up the stairs behind it. There is a dead Firefly soldier propped up against the wall with this note.

Artifact – Note to Derek – Continue in this underground section until you come to a combat encounter with several clickers. From the starting position, there are blue lockers to your left. exit this hallway and go left. Enter the first store on the left and go behind the counter with the register. This note is found in a drawer and it has the first safe combination written on it.

Safe #1 – From the previous note, exit the store and go straight across to the opposite side of the area to enter the store called “Round Note.” Go behind the counter with the cash register on it to find this safe. The combination is 03-43-78.


  • Museum

Artifact – Medical Pamphlet – Continue following the story until you reach a street that is cut of by a semi truck with a lobster on the side of it. Climb over this truck and drop down. When you drop down, turn around and enter the truck’s trailer to find this collectible.

Workbench #1 – From the previous note, continue down the street until you come to the garage on your left. Interact with the chain to get inside. The workbench is in this garage. Interact with it. This one is very hard to miss.

Firefly Pendant – Michael Kiper – Continue on until you enter a room where the ceiling has collapsed allowing you to climb the fallen debris to the second floor. There is a big bell in the same room. Climb up to the second floor. At the top, go left and shimmy your way around to the backside of the big hole to find this pendant in an old display table.

Shiv Door #2 – After you get split up from Ellie and Tess via fallen debris, exit the tunnel of debris. Go left down the main hallway from the debris tunnel. Go through two sets of doors and take a left after the second set of doors to enter a break room. This is across from the room where the horse display is. This shiv door will be to your right immediately upon entering this break room.

Conversation #7 – Continue upstairs to regroup with Ellie and Tess. There will be a big combat encounter up here. After all of the enemies have been dealt with, go over to Tess as she’s looking out a window and initiate this conversation.

Conversation #8 – This is in the exact same location as the previous conversation. After speaking with Tess, she’ll jump through the window. Look over to Ellie and you can speak to her for this conversation. Make sure to do this before going through the window.


  • The Capitol Building

Artifact – Firefly Orders – Continue following the story path until you cross from one building to another by using a wooden plank. After the cutscene where you take in the view of the Capitol Building, you’ll head down two flights of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs go right and then back toward the back of the stairs to find this note next to a body in the corner.

Firefly Pendant – Melinda Davidson – Make your way toward the Capitol Building until you are right outside of it standing in some water. Go to the gazebo like structure on the left across from the Capitol Building and climb into it. This pendant is found in the back right of the gazebo.

Artifact – Smuggler Note – This is found in the flooded subway section. When you come up from under water after swimming under the debris pile and wrecked train cars, swim over to the platform that Ellie is standing on to the left. The note is on the ground on this platform next to a body.

Firefly Pendant – Shiyao Jiang – Go down the hallway on the same platform where the previous note was found. Swim under the debris blocking your way. Go into the small room underwater and this pendant can be found on a shelf in this room under water.


Chapter – Bill’s Town


  • The Woods

Artifact – Pills Note – After using the wooden plank to cross from one building to another, drop down into the next area. Follow the path and drop down again. There will be a building with a small set of stairs in front of you to the right. Go up those stairs and enter that building. Go through the doorway on your left and then go to the back left corner of this room to find this note on the ground behind an office chair in front of a stack of white boxes.

Shiv Door #3 – Exit the building where the previous note was found and drop down the ledge next to the stairs you used to enter. This shiv door is on the left across from the small set of stairs.

Conversation #9 – Lift Ellie up and over the locked gate to the right of the previous shiv door. She’ll open the gate and let you through. From the gate, go straight across the street to the reddish building with a blue awning and a sign that says “Pizza & Subs.” The door is open, so go in and stand near the Turning arcade machine and wait for Ellie. Ellie will come in and this conversation will become available when she approaches the arcade machine.

Firefly Pendant – Hui Wang – From the previous conversation, go back outside to the main street. Look down the street to see an RV parked sideways. Use the police car in front of the RV to climb on top of the RV. This pendant is found on top of the RV near the back.

Artifact – Note to Bob – Drop down from the RV and head to the end of the street to find this note caught in the barbed wire. This note has the next safe combination.

Safe #2 – Turn around from the previous note and run back up the street. Run to the mandatory evacuation notice sign on the left side of the street next to the diner. Go to the pickup truck parked right next to the diner and this safe is on the ground next to the pickup truck. The combination is 05-17-21.

Artifact – Perimeter Note  – From the previous safe, turn around and head back down the street. Go into the record store on the left across from the back of the RV. Go in the record store and go through the door in the back right corner. Once you’re through the door, turn left and look for this note on a small desk next to a printer.

Shiv Door #4 – Exit the record store and go down the alley way that takes you to the back side of the record store. A clicker will charge toward you but will be killed by a tripwire. Go to the right and you should see this shiv door on what should be the back of the record store.

Artifact – Note to Rachel – Continue on the story path to the point where you get the bow and cross the rooftops. Eventually, you’ll climb down from the rooftops on a half broken ladder. There will be a tripwire to the right of the ladder. Crouch under the tripwire and then go left. Don’t go through the gate with two trip wires across from the truck just yet. Continue on the left path until you see an open door. Go through the door, up the stairs and then left into the living room. This note is found on a table near the kitchen. “Rachel” is spray painted on the wall above it.


  • Safehouse

Artifact – Bill’s Map – This is found when Bill tells you take any supplies you may need while in a diner. As soon as you regain control of Joel, turn around from bill to find this map on a table very close to where you’re standing.

Artifact – Fences Note – From the previous map, go into the open door on the right and this note is on the coffee table.

Training Manual #1 – Shiv: Sharpening – Exit the room with the previous note and walk toward Bill. This manual can be found on the bar just a few steps past where Bill was standing. This is near the end of the bar just before it turns.

Conversation #10 – Turn around from the previous manual and walk over to the chess board on the table of a booth across from the bar. The conversation icon will appear over the chess board.

Artifact – Hunter’s Note – Follow Bill out of the bar area and Joel will shut the door after Ellie exits. Go up the stairs in front of you, but don’t follow Bill out. Take the right next to the stairs and follow the hallway into a bedroom. This note is on a small round table in the bedroom.

Firefly Pendant – Alex Raymond Vincent – Continue following Bill and you will eventually come outside street level and a combat encounter will ensue. After you clear out all of the enemies, go to the ambulance and look to the right up at the light pole right next to the green sign for the diner to find this pendant hanging from the light. Shoot the pendant or throw a brick/bottle at it to get it down.


  • Graveyard

Toolbox #1 – Follow Bill into the basement of the church. You’ll be given the shotgun. When you regain control of Joel, walk straight ahead and take a left to find this toolbox on a shelf in the corner.

Workbench #2 – Turnaround from the toolbox and go back to the main area. The workbench is up against the back wall of this basement.

Artifact – Bombs Note – Exit the basement by taking the stairs up to another floor. You’ll see an alter straight ahead. Walk to the alter and take a right into an open doorway. This note can be found on a table in this room.

Firefly Pendant – Peter Mrozic – Leave the church and follow Bill. Clear out the graveyard and you’ll come to another area with enemies. You’ll be in-between backyards in an alley way. From where you start in the alley, there will be two enemies straight ahead of you. They’re blocking the path we need here. Take them out and go up the alley way past where they were. Go through the opening in the white fence on your left into a backyard. There will be more enemies in this yard. Deal with them and then enter the house. Go into the house and make two rights and this pendant is found in the bathroom next to the toilet.

Artifact – Boy’s Diary – Make your way through the backyards until you come to a yard that has a tree house and an empty pool. Enter the house, go up the stairs and go into the bedroom on the right. This note is found under the window in this room.

Conversation #11 – This conversation will take place in the same room as the previous note or near it with Ellie. If she’s not in there, just wait and she’ll ask if you have a second. Follow her and speak to her when given the prompt.


  • High School Escape

Conversation #12 – Continue through the chapter and complete the school section. You’ll eventually escape to a house where Bill will find his partner. When you regain control of Joel, you’ll be in the garage and Ellie will get into the truck. Speak to Ellie as she sits in the driver’s seat.

Artifact – Note From Frank – After the previous conversation, turn around and go straight back into the house. Go through the door to the right of the TV in the living room. This note is found on a table in this room. This note is required for the In Memorium bronze-trophy-dgg Trophy. That will be earned in the next step.

Artifact – Note From Frank (Again) / Conversation #13 / In Memorium bronze-trophy-dgg – Take the note you just found and return to Bill. The conversation icon will appear over Bill. Speak to him and he’ll read Frank’s note. When Bill is done reading it, he’ll throw the note on the ground. Pick up the note to collect it again and pop the Trophy.

  • Alone and Forsaken

Comic Book: Force Carrier – Story related.

Conversation #14 – After the ambush in the truck, you’ll need to use Ellie’s help in opening a garage door to continue. As soon as you both get into the garage, speak to Ellie near the pile of clothes.

Artifact – Tourist Manifest – This is found in the same room as the previous conversation. From Ellie, turn to your right and this is in the back corner on an overturned metal box.

Toolbox #2 – The toolbox is found in the same room as the previous two collectibles. This is on a desk next to the door that you entered through.

Training Manual #2 – Health Splinting – Head up stairs to the second floor. Take the immediate right on the second floor to enter a room with mattresses. The training manual is found on a mattress next to the second doorway.

Artifact – Ambush Map – From the previous training manual, exit the door to your right and then go through the next door in the hallway also on your right. This artifact is hanging on the wall next to the doorway. If you’re outside with the pile of burning remains, you’ve gone through the wrong door.

Workbench #3 – This workbench is found in the same small room as the previous artifact.

Comic Book: Termination Shock – After exiting the building with the previous collectibles, you’ll drop down onto a road. There will be a bus straight ahead of you. Enter the bus and go to the back to find this comic book.

Conversation #15 – Exit the bus and continue down the street very shortly to see a hatchback car on the right side with a body falling out of the driver side. Wait there and speak to Ellie.

Joke #2 – Continue down the street and you’ll come to another bus. A flock of birds will fly away and three enemies will come from the top of the bus and drop down onto the street your on. Take out the enemies and then wait at the bus. Do not climb on top of it. Wait there and Ellie will eventually tell you a joke. Remember, do not climb onto the bus until Ellie tells you her joke.

Conversation #16 – Climb over the bus and drop down into the next section. Go over to the right and look at the graffiti on the wall that says “Give us our rations!”. Stare at it and wait for Ellie to come over. Speak to her when this conversation prompt becomes available.

Artifact – Lost Hill Note – From the previous conversation, hop over the sandbags that are in front of the graffiti on the wall that you just spoke to Ellie about. Go left and look on the floor in the guard shack.

Artifact – Traitors Flyer – Go through the Fedra checkpoint until you come to an area with a very large tent and some enemies. As soon as you enter the area through the gate, turn around to find this flyer hanging on the wall.

Firefly Pendant – Kazden Risk – From the previous collectible, turnaround and head down the street to the other end. On the right side of the street, there will be an alley way next to the bookstore. Turn down the alley way and go to the end to find this pendant on the ground behind a desk.

Artifact – Applicant Checklist – Enter the bookstore next to the previous pendant and head to the front corner where the stairs are. Go under the stairs to find this note on a shelf.

Artifact – Abandoned Zone Note – From the previous note, turn left go to the open window straight ahead of you. Hop over the window and into a small kitchen area. Look to your left to find this note on the counter.

Shiv Door #5 – From the previous note, head to the back of the bookstore and then take the staircase up to the second floor. At the top of the stairs, you’ll come out to an area with some couches and a mattress. To the left of this area is the shiv door.

Artifact – Lost Areas Map – This is on a counter in the previous shiv door room.

Joke #3 – First, you will need to make sure that all of the enemies inside of the bookstore are dead. Follow Ellie around up on the second floor of the same book store as the previous few collectibles. It might take a while, but stay near Ellie and she will eventually tell you a joke.

Conversation #17 – Continue following the story path and you will eventually come to an area where you’ll see enemies on a bus in a flooded street pulling back a plank. They’ll then head into a building. As soon as you regain control of Joel, turn around and go to the advertisement with the woman on it in the window of the store called Laron’s. Stand there and wait for Ellie to come talk about it.

Joke #4 – After the previous conversation, keep standing there. Ellie will walk around the area for a bit and then will eventually tell you more jokes.

Shiv Door #6 – Return to the cab that you were hiding behind during the cutscene where you watched the enemies on the bus. From the cab looking toward the bus, you should see a bus stop ahead of you slightly to the left. Go toward that bus stop and look to your left. You’ll see a door with an X painted on it under a blue awning. That’s the shiv door.

Artifact – Mother’s Letter – This is found inside of the previously mentioned shiv door #6.

Artifact – Stash Note – Get in the water and swim to the back of the box truck that is across from the bus. Swim through the container and it will take you into a coffee shop. Swim to the very back to find a staircase. Take the stairs up to the second floor and follow the path around to the other side of the room. This note is on a blue counter next to a sign on the wall that says, “Good Coffee Since 1976.”


  • Hotel Lobby

Conversation #18 – When you enter the hotel lobby, there will be stairs covered by debris straight ahead of you. From where you entered, go to the left around the scaffolding and you’ll come to a bar top counter. Go behind the bar and interact with the coffee machine to get this conversation.

Artifact – Note to Self – Next, you will need to grab the ladder propped up against the scaffolding and carry it over the left of the lobby stairs. Climb up the ladder. At the top, go right down the debris covered stairs. It might not look like it, but you can actually go up the stairs on the right. You’ll lean up against the wall and shimmy your way up the destroyed and debris covered stairs. At the top of those stairs, continue right and pick up this note from a suitcase on the ground.

Safe #3 / Training Manual #3 – Shiv Reinforcement – From the previous collectible, go back the way you came to the ladder. Drop down back into the water and go to the front corner of the lobby. You should see a check in desk off to the side. Go behind the desk and into the small room. The safe is behind the counter and the training manual is inside of the safe. The combination is 22-10-56.

Joke #5 – From the previous safe, head back to the ladder and climb it. Ellie will be waiting for you at the top and will tell you another joke. If she doesn’t do it right away, just wait and she eventually will.

Conversation #19 – Continue through the hotel. When you come to the second floor, there will be a lot of enemies. Clear them out and then go up to the third floor. You can either take the stairs or climb the pile of debris in one of the rooms to reach the third floor. Go into the bathroom of room 304 to find two bodies dead in a bathtub. Stand near them and you can speak to Ellie about it.

Artifact – Hotel Keycard – This is required to advance the story. It is found on a desk in a security office.

Workbench #4 – After escaping the flooded basement, you’ll use the hotel keycard you picked up from the security office. From that door, head up the stairs. Exit the stairwell at the top and go left out of the door. Enter the office on the right to find this workbench.

Comic Book: Accretion – Continue to the restaurant area and you’ll eventually have to climb a ladder to get up and out. Go down the hallway at the top of the ladder and take the first left into an open room with a big hole in the floor go to the right of it and shimmy across the big hole by leaning up against the wall. On the other side of the hole, this comic book can be found on a coffee table.

Firefly Pendant – Colby Reed – Continue on the path and you will eventually drop down a destroyed staircase. Go down the hallway that you drop into. Go into the women’s restroom on the left and this pendant is found in a stall on the ground.

Training Manual #4 – Melee: Knots – Exit the women’s restroom from the previous collectible and continue down the hallway. This training manual will be on a table in the hallway.

Conversation #20 – Continue on until you get to the ballroom with the piano on the stage. Look to the back corner to see a tropical island photo backdrop. Go over to the backdrop and stand in front of it. Wait for Ellie to come over and then speak to her.


  • Financial District

Conversation #21 – Continue on the story path until you leave the hotel and come to an outside area where Joel gives Ellie a gun. Clear out all of the enemies in the area and then look for a body hanging from a tree. Stand near the body and wait for Ellie to come over and speak with her.

Artifact – Fireflies Note – From the previous conversation, head to the top right corner of this area and enter the restaurant called “Don Fiocchi Sandwiches”. Enter the store and go behind the counter to the backroom. Follow the trail of blood on the ground and this note is on the ground on the right of the walk in refrigerator.

Workbench #5 – Continue on the story path until you come to a garage where you will use a push cart to hold open the door. You will then use that same cart to climb up and over an overturned vending machine. As soon as you drop down, the workbench will be on your right.

Artifact – Final Attack Note – Continue the story path until you see the Humvee shoot the civilians. Continue through that building after that scene up the stairs. From the stairwell exit on the second floor, go straight down the hallway and into the office with several desks. This note is on the ground behind the last desk before the big open window.

Artifact – Mob Attack Note – Continue until you come to an outside area on the street. There will be enemies here, so take them out. There will be a bookstore in the middle. This collectible is in a building on the right side of the street next to the sign that says “Liberty Military Surplus.” You’ll hear and see enemies up there talking as you enter the area. The entrance to the building is to the right of a cop car. Enter the building and head up stairs. Follow the office around to an L shaped desk. This note is on the ground behind the L shaped desk. Beware of the tripwire near the front door.

Artifact – Truck Note – Exit the building from the previous note and go down the street to the building marked with a sign that says “Ration Depot”. Enter that building to find this note on one of the tables inside.

Shiv Door #7 – This door is in the ration depot union building as the previous note. Go through the doorway to the right of the note to find this door.

Conversation – Before you climb up the fire escape ladder, you can see “Death for Freedom” painted on the nearby wall. You can speak to Ellie here about it, but this conversation does not appear to count toward the Trophy. Feel free to grab it if you’d like.

Conversation #22 – Continue on to the next area by using the fire escape ladder. You’ll climb down an ambulance into the next area. Go forward a little bit from the ambulance and look to your right to see a military preparatory school. Stand in front of the school and wait for Ellie. Speak to her here.

Conversation #23 – Run over to the poster hanging on the wall for the movie “Dawn of the Wolf” which is on the opposite side of the military school from the previous conversation. Wait for Ellie in front of the poster.


  • Escape the City

Training Manual #5 – Molotov Construction: – This is found in the kitchen of the apartment where you meet Henry and Sam. It is on the counter.

Shiv Door #8 – Exit the apartment where you met Henry and Sam. Go down the stairs and this door will be directly in front of you as you come down the stairs. It’s room 201. Get this door before leaving the building with the rest of the group.

Comic Book: Deep Phase – This comic book is inside of the previous shiv door room 201. When you enter, go left into a bedroom to find this on a computer desk.

Firefly Pendant – Lucas Rios – As you exit the toy store through the garage, you’ll come to an enemy encounter that will have you climbing up onto roof tops to enter a building. When you enter the building, the rest of your group will go into a room on the right. Don’t Follow them in there yet. Instead, go in the room on the left which is across from the room with your group. You can find this pendant on a toilet in the stall in the corner of the room.

Artifact – Trial Note – Now go into the room where Henry is waiting for you across the hallway. Go straight to a meeting room with a long table. This note is found in the back corner on the ground of the meeting room.

Lights Out bronze-trophy-dgg – After waking up and leaving with Henry and Sam, you’ll come to an enemy encounter at night outside. You’ll need to sneak to the spotlight and turn it off without being spotted by the enemies.


Chapter – The Suburbs


  • Sewers

Artifact – Boat Note – When you regain control of Joel on the shore, look to the big boat to your right. Climb onto the boat and open the door to find this note on a seat on the left inside.

Comic Book: Antiparticles – This is right next to the previous note.

Firefly Pendant – Josh Scheffler – Exit the room the same door you entered from the previous collectibles. Drop down into the hole on the deck of the boat. This pendant is on the ground near fishing traps in the hole you dropped into.

Firefly Pendant – Robert Righetti – Enter the sewers and look for a squared hole with water pouring out on the right. Climb into that hole. Exit the other side and go left toward the sewer waterfall to find this in the hand of a skeleton.

Artifact – Sewers Note – Continue through the sewers and you’ll come to a split in the path. Henry and Sam will go left, and you and Ellie will go right. At the end of the right path that you and Ellie go down, look to your right to see a locked chain link gate. The door will blocked by a big box. Look to the vent on the ground to the left of the locked gate. Interact with the vent and Ellie will climb through and unlock the gate from inside allowing you to enter. Enter the now open gate and this note is on a table in here.

Firefly Pendant – Eddie Fuentes – Continue through the sewers until you come to the flooded area where you will need to use the sewers contraption to get Henry and Same across the water. Jump into the water and swim over to where a car is sticking out of the water. This pendant is underwater down near the hood of that car.

Artifact – Trading Note – Dive underwater and remove the debris blocking the gate from opening. Henry will open the gate and then you can swim through. Swim to the back of the room and get out of the water. Look to the left to see a ladder. Climb the ladder and look to the right to see a door. Go through the door and kill the enemies. This note is found on the ground next to a sleeping bag.

Waterlogged bronze-trophy-dgg – After you bring Ellie across the water by using the pallet, quickly swim over to Henry and Sam. Get out of the water and get onto the platform they are on to ride it across the water with them.

Toolbox #3 – After you get everyone across the water via the platform, go down the hall until you see the door with a castle drawn around the entrance. Don’t go through that door just yet. There is an open door along the left wall that you can enter. There is a danger sign right next to it on the wall. The toolbox is in this small room.

Training Manual #6 – Bomb Containment – Continue on the story path and you will eventually set off a noise trap. Continue going straight down that hallway and you will come to a shelf on the left of the hallway. This training manual will be on that shelf.

Artifact – Rain Catcher Note – Continue through until you go through a gate and are ambushed by infected enemies. Clear them all out. From the gate you entered the area in, look to the right to see an opening with stairs going up. Go up the stairs and turn right to find this note on the rain catching device.

Artifact – Cornered Note – Get back onto the story path and follow it until you hop over some debris and climb some stairs. Just past the top of the stairs, look to your left to see a closed door that you can open. Open the door and enter the room. This note is on a floor next to a body in the corner. There is also a machete in this room, which is needed for the Build Em Up, Break Em Down Trophy.

Artifact – Kid’s Drawing – After getting split up from Ellie, you’ll come to a storage like area with a combat encounter against infected. Exit the area by passing the pillar that has an “H” painted on it. Go up the stairs behind that pillar and take a left at the rain catcher and you’ll enter a classroom like setting. This note is found on a shelf under the chalkboard.


  • Suburbs

Artifact – Looting Note – When you come to the neighborhood street, head down the street. Enter the second house on the right. Go up the stairs and enter the bedroom on the left to find this note on a dresser.

Conversation #24 – Exit the house and continue down the street. Follow the street as it curves. Look at the house on the right at the curve and there will be a big blown out hole in the wall. Go through the hole in the wall and you’ll be in a kitchen. Stand in here and wait to listen to Henry’s story. This is needed in order to get Joke #5 later on in the sub chapter.

Conversation #25 – After previous conversation, exit the kitchen and walk across the street and look up at the “I’m armed. No trespassing. Will shoot on sight” painted on the house directly opposite of the house you were just in the kitchen of. Wait for Henry and you’ll be able to speak to him. This is also needed in order to get Joke #5 later on in the sub chapter.

Conversation #26 – Continue down the street and there will be an ice cream truck parked out on the street nearby. Wait for Ellie to speak to Sam and then you’ll be able to have this optional conversation with her after. This is also needed in order to get Joke #5 later on in the sub chapter.

Workbench #6 – From the ice cream truck, look to the left to see an open garage. This would be the first house on the left when coming from the house with shooting message conversation. Enter the open garage to find this workbench.

Artifact – Father’s Note – From the ice cream truck, enter the second house on the left side of the street. This house is next to the workbench house. Go through the front door and up the stairs. Enter the bedroom on the left at the top of the stairs. This artifact is on a desk with a computer on it in this bedroom.

Training Manual #7 – Melee Techniques – Exit the bedroom from the previous note and look up to the ceiling to see the attic door. Interact with it to pull the ladder down. It’ll collapse, but you’ll be able to interact with it again to boost Ellie up into the attic. She’ll grab this training manual and bring it to you.

Joke #6 – Exit the house from the previous two collectibles and follow the street around until you come to the debris blocking the way. There will also be a Firefly logo painted on the wall on the left. Look at it and then wait here for Ellie and she will tell the final joke. Remember, you will need to have heard the optional conversations listed above in the kitchen earlier, the spray painted warning and the ice cream truck in order for this joke to be told.

Firefly Pendant – Matthew White – From the previous joke location, look at the Firefly logo painted on the wall. Climb up through the opening in the fence and look for this pendant hanging from the tree. Shoot it or throw a brick/bottle at it to get it down.

Comic Book: Messenger Particle – From the previous pendant location, enter the house of the yard you’re in. This would be the third house on the left if you’re coming down the street. Go upstairs, enter bedroom on the right in front of the stairs that lead up to the third floor and find this comic on a computer desk.

Artifact – Matchbook – Exit the room from the previous note and head upstairs to the third floor of the house. This artifact is on shelf at the top of the stairs.

Safe #4 – The previous artifact will have the combination for the final safe. Go back down the stairs and enter the bedroom on your immediate right at the bottom of the stairs on the second floor. The safe is in the closet. The combination is 08-21-36.

Artifact – Survivor’s Note – This note is in the same bedroom as the previous safe on the floor.

Conversation #27 – Go back down to the first floor of the same house as the previous few collectibles. You should see Ellie and Sam playing darts. When they’re done, go over to the stool and interact with the dart to throw it.


Chapter – Tommy’s Dam


  • Hydroelectric Dam

Comic Book: Foreign Element – As the chapter begins, you’ll be climbing down ledges making your way toward the big bridge that runs above you. Before under the bridge, head up the path to the right. This comic book is on the ground near an overturned car next to a body.

Shiv Door #9 – Continue making your way through the area until you come to the section where you need to use the handwheel to make a bridge to cross the river. This shiv door is on the same platform as the first handwheel that you need to use.

Left Hanging – After making your across the makeshift bridges made by you and Ellie using the two handwheels, Ellie will put her hand up and want a high five from you. Ignore her and keep walking to earn this Trophy.

Conversation #28 – From the previous Trophy location, drop down off the walkway to the left instead of going right. Drop down and head toward the remnants of an old campsite. Hop over the log to find a teddy bear on the ground. Interact with it for this conversation.

Artifact – Power Plant Map – Continue on the story path until you come to the doors of Tommy’s camp inside the dam. Before you go up to the doors, go to the left to see a small brick building near the chain link fence. Go into that building to find this hanging on the wall.

Conversation #29 – After Tommy lets you into the dam, you’ll be following him through. You will come to a section where the path starts to turn left. There will also be a horse here that Ellie will walk up to. Walk over to the horse with her and wait for this prompt to become available.

Conversation #30 – Continue following Tommy through the dam. You’ll eventually come to a walkway outside where Tommy will mention his camp is 20 families strong. There will be an NPC working in front of you, Tommy will go straight and there will be a path to the right that you can take. Take the path to the right and go to the NPC who is holding a gun just past a generator. Speak to them for this conversation.

Who’s a Good Boy? – Shortly after the previous conversation, keep following Tommy. You’ll quickly come to an area where you’ll see a dog laying on the ground next to the corner of a building. Interact with the dog to earn this Trophy.

Training Manual #8 – Smoke Chemistry After meeting and petting Buckley, enter the building he was laying next to. take the left turn and this manual is found on an overturned locker to the left.

Workbench #7 – This workbench is found right next the previous training manual in the same area.

Firefly Pendant – Ryan Oliverio – Enter the room just past the previous workbench and you’ll see NPCs working on a turbine. Go down the stairs all the way to the bottom floor. Enter the doorway on the right at the bottom of the stairs to find this pendant on the ground in the back of the room between two engines.

Artifact – Plant Schematics – Advance the story until you speak with Tommy. After that, you’ll head back through the room where the NPCs were working on a turbine and you’ll make your way into the room with the workbench. This artifact is on a table in the middle of the room. After you leave this room to continue fighting, there will be a hatchet right outside propped up against cover. This is needed for the Build Em Up, Break Em Down Trophy.


  • Ranch House

Firefly Pendant – Brent Pino – Follow the story until you track Ellie down at a house. This pendant is found on a desk on the first floor in the room with the fireplace and mounted deer trophy.

Comic Book: Zero Point – From the previous pendant, go up the stairs. Enter the first door on your left at the top. This comic is found on a dresser in front of a window.


The University


  • Go Big Horns

Comic Book: Free Radicals – At the very beginning of the chapter, turn your horse around and ride all the way back up the street to a dead end. This comic is in the backseat of a car at the dead end.

Artifact – Sniper’s Nest Log – As you start to make your way through the outside of the university, you’ll come to an area where you will need to jump over a road barricade with barbed wire on it in order to advance the story. Before jumping over that, look to the right of the area to see a big open doorway into a garage. Enter the garage and hop up the loading dock ledge on the right of the garage. Go through the doorway and head up the stairs. Go up to the second floor and through the hallway to the closed door on the right. Open it and go left to see two chairs set up on the balcony. This note is on the ground between the two chairs.

Workbench #8 – From the previous collectible, backtrack to the garage the same way you came. This workbench is in the garage we came through on our way to the Sniper’s Log.

Conversation #31 – Back outside of the garage, look up and to the left to see a big banner hanging from the side of the building. Jump over the roadblock and then walk closer to the building that the banner is hanging from on the left. Look up to it and trigger this conversation.

Firefly Pendant – Hope Pino – From the previous conversation, go forward and up the set of stairs. From the top of the stairs, turn right. You’ll see vending machines up against the wall on your left. Look up into the tree in the back right corner of this dead-end and shoot or throw a brick/bottle at the hanging pendant.

Artifact – Wall Panel Note – Continue on until you are inside of a building that will require you to turn on a generator in order to regroup with your horse and Ellie. Follow the cables on the ground to a panel on the wall. This note is on the wall next to the panel.

Firefly Pendant – Alex Rohner – After you restore power, continue on until you go up some stairs with more roadblocks that you can jump over. Climb the stairs, but do not jump over the roadblock yet. Instead, Go to the right and climb on the dumpsters and then up and into the building. This pendant is on a table up here.

Training Manual #9 – Health SterilizationJump over the roadblocks from the previous pendant and you’ll be in a big open courtyard area. Ride over to the building on the right side of the courtyard. Go to the end of the right building and you’ll notice that the windows are busted out. Climb up into the open window and head up stairs in front of you. Hop out of the window at the top of the stairs and you’ll be on the roof awning. Keep walking left on the awning and you’ll see another open window. Climb through the window. This training manual is on a desk in here.

Conversation #32 – Return to your horse from the previous manual and continue riding forward between the two buildings in front of you. There is a Firefly logo painted on the wall on the building to your left. Ride close to it and the prompt will appear.

Artifact – UEC Campus Map – From the previous conversation, continue following the path until you come to a hallway opening on your right. Go into the opening and you should see a doorway blocked by debris. Crouch under the debris blocking the doorway. This is found on the desk straight ahead of you after entering the room.

Artifact – Student’s Journal – From the previous artifact, go up the stairs in the back of the room. Enter the second door on your left on the second floor. It is marked 200-B. This note is found in a desk drawer next to a bed.

Firefly Pendant – Joe Warren – From the previous collectible, go back out into the hallway of the second floor and continue on until you come to a hole in the ground. Drop down into the spore infested hole. In order to get this pendant, you’re going to need to kill the bloater that is down here. The bloater will drop the pendant when it is killed.

Artifact – Newspaper Clipping – After killing the bloater, continue through this area and exit. You’ll knock down a vending machine that will block the door. Go up the stairs to the second floor. Follow to hallway and enter room 205-B on the right. This will be on a mini fridge in the dorm room.

Firefly Pendant – Erik Griggs – Return to Ellie and your horse. Continue advancing until you come to an area with white tents in front of a tall building. Make your way across to the other side of the open area. There will be two white tents just past a truck in the corner of the area. Enter the tent next to the fire hydrant to find this pendant on a table.


  • Science Building

Workbench #9 – Continue until you enter the building by using the dumpster to climb up onto the truck. You’ll also use that same dumpster to first break through the gates. As you climb into the building, head through the doorway on the left to find this workbench.

Shiv Door #10 – Go back into the room where you climbed in to this building. Head through the only other doorway. Follow the hallway all the way to the end and this shiv door will be on the right. It will be marked as Room 205 – Lecture Room.

Training Manual #10 – Molotov Deployment – This is on a table in behind the shiv door you just opened.

Toolbox #4 – In the same shiv door room as the previous training manual.

Conversation #33 – Continue through the science building and you’ll come to a stack of old Firefly supplies in front of a stair case. Interact with the clipboard on the pallet of supplies to initiate this conversation.

Artifact – Office Recorder – From the previous conversation, go up the stairs to the next floor. Go through the door on your left at the top of the stairs. From there, go through the first door on your left marked as Room 301 – Biology Lab. This recorder is on the table straight across from where you enter the room.

Artifact – Fungal X-Rays – Exit the room from the previous collectible and follow the yellow and red cables on the floor down the hallway and into a room where there is a long table in the middle of the room. This x-ray is on a table in front of a window in this room.

Artifact – Lab Recorder – Continue on to the next room where you will find the monkeys. This recorder is found on a table in front of the whiteboard in the same room.

Firefly Pendant – Sadie Pearle Hickman – This is found in the same room as the previous recorder. From the recorder go around to the other side of the big shelf is to the left of where the recorder was. The pendant is near the end of the shelf by the wall next to a microscope.

Chapter – Lakeside Resort


  • The Hunt

9 Artifacts in Ellie’s Backpack – At the very beginning of the chapter, open up Ellie’s backpack and go to “Artifacts”. You will need to inspect each item in her backpack. If you have the option to flip an artifact, you have to flip it. Inspect each item until Ellie says something about each one. Do not move on until Ellie is done talking about whatever item you’re looking at. Again, flip them over if the option is available. Don’t rush through these.

Comic Book: Uncertainty – While you’re following the blood trail, you’ll come to a dilapidated barn. Enter the barn and go through the doorway on the left. This comic is found in a drawer of the desk in the back corner.

Firefly Pendant – Travis Kristoff – Advance the story until you’re in a big building fighting off clickers. Once David boosts you onto the catwalk, follow it around to the other side of the building. A clicker will come out of a room and toward while you’re up on the catwalk. Kill it and go into the room it came out of. If you didn’t see it, it’s a room on the left side of the catwalk before the ladder you need to drop. In that room, the pendant will be on top of a crate.

Conversation #34 – Advance the chapter until you come to the room where you will need to survive a few waves of enemies. There will be a body on ground right out in the open that you can interact with to get this conversation. It’ll be hard to miss this body in the somewhat small room.


  • Cabin Resort

Firefly Pendant – Paul D Braun – Advance the story until the end of the horse section. Run through the house in front of you and exit through the front. Look to your right to see a gazebo. Go to the gazebo to find this pendant on a bench.

Comic Book: Negentropy – Continue the story until you crawl through the pipe. As you exit the pipe, turn left and head up the stairs. This comic book is found on a bench up here.

Artifact – Lake Resort Map – Story related.

Shiv Door #11 – As Joel, run past the gas station on your right and go straight to the motel. Go through the open door to the right of the “L” in the motel sign above. There is also a crashed truck right in front of the door. Go to the bathroom in that room and hop through the bathroom window. This shiv door is to your left on a small shed.

Training Manual #11 – Smoke Shaping This is found inside of the previous shiv door on a crate.

Artifact – Ellie’s Backpack – Story related.

Artifact – Meat Ledger – After finding Ellie’s backpack, turn to the right to find this artifact on a shelf very close to where Ellie’s backpack was.


Chapter – Bus Depot


  • Highway Exit

Conversation #35 – As the chapter opens, Joel will talk to Ellie about learning how to play guitar. After asking if she would like that, this prompt will appear over Ellie.

Artifact – Family Photograph – Right after the previous conversation, there will be an RV to your left. Enter the RV to find this on the counter near the sink.

Conversation #36 – As you exit the RV, there will be a bus on your right with an advertisement for an airline. This prompt will appear as Ellie tells Joel about her dream that she was flying.

Firefly Pendant – Katerina Perich – Continue down the road and you’ll see some water to your left at the end of the ramp. There will also be a burned out truck parked sideways. This pendant is found on the ground on the other side of the truck near the wall of the ramp.

Artifact – Note to Wife – Continue until you reach the bus station. Go inside and go down the stairs on the left. Head straight from the stairs and you’ll find this note in an open suitcase on the ground.

Conversation #37 – Wait for Ellie to sit down on a bench in the bus station. Interact with her when she does to get this conversation. If she’s not sitting down, look at the ladder and interact with it and Joel will mention using the ladder. Look to Ellie after that and she should be sitting.

Conversation #38 – Continue through the bus station until you encounter the giraffe. Interact with the giraffe to get this conversation.

Conversation #39 – Continue until you’re on the rooftop where you see the herd of giraffes. Ellie will lean up over the wall looking at them. Interact with her while she’s leaning against the wall.

Comic Book: Precipitate – After the previous conversation, you’ll take some stairs down into a larger open room with seats. As you enter the room, head around to the right and enter the men’s bathroom. This comic can be found on the ground in front of one of the stalls.

Toolbox #5 – Advance the story until you come to an outside Fedra first aid area. There will be an old tank and some tents out here. Go into the biggest tent on the left of the area and this can be found on a table.

Firefly Pendant – Nicole Hoo – Leave the tent from the previous toolbox and continue on a bit until you see a tipped over green dumpster. Just behind this dumpster is a green tent and flood lights. Look up to the flood lights to see this pendant hanging.

Workbench #10 – From the previous pendant, turnaround and head to the far left corner to find another smaller white tent. The workbench is inside.

Artifact – Salt Lake Q.Z. Map – Turn around from the previous workbench to find this map on a table directly across from the workbench.

Conversation #40 / Artifact – Joel & Sarah Photo – Head toward the bus that you walk through to exit this area. Before getting to it, Ellie will tell Joel she has something for him. Wait for her and then interact with her. She’ll give you the photo.


  • Underground Tunnel

Firefly Pendant – Natalie Hoo – Go through the bus to advance the story. You’ll start to head down into a tunnel and you’ll see another bus on your left. Go around to the other side of the bus to find this pendant on the ground.

Training Manual #12 – Bomb Shrapnel – Progress through the flooded tunnel until you come a box truck on the left. There will also be a sign to the right hanging from the ceiling that says “Tunnel East” and “St, Mary’s Hospital Ahead.” Climb up onto the top of the truck that says “PNB Express” and you’ll find this manual.

Comic Book: Catalysis – Continue through the tunnel until have to drop a ladder down for Ellie. Drop the ladder and then climb onto the air ducts on the left of the tunnel. Go to the end where the ducts are destroyed to find this comic.

Workbench #11 – Continue until Ellie opens a locked gate for you. Pass through the gate and this workbench is on the right side of the room.

Shiv Door #12 – As you exit the room with the previous workbench, take the immediate right to find this door.


Chapter – The Firefly Lab


  • The Hospital

Artifact – Surgeon’s Recorder – After barricading a door with a chair, you’ll climb up a few flights of stairs. As you exit the stairwell, this recorder can be found on the desk right in front of you.

Artifact – Marlene’s Recorder 1 – From the previous recorder, turn to your right and go into the doorway nearby. This recorder is found on a desk next to a computer.

Shiv Door #13 – From the previous recorder, exit the room and go behind the big desk where the first recorder was. The door behind the desk is the shiv door.

Firefly Pendant – Byrony Stewart-Seume – This pendant is found behind the shiv door you just opened on a desk.

Artifact – Marlene’s Journal – Exit the shiv door room and go left. Take another left and you’ll see a big green tent. Enter the tent and head to the back to find this journal on a desk on the left side of the tent.

Artifact – Marlene’s Recorder 2 – Continue through the hospital until you barricade a door with a blue bin. From that bin, enter the first door on the right. This recorder is found on a table with a lamp next to the bed.


Chapter – Jackson

  • Epilogue

Comic Book: Singularity – After crossing through the wire fence, head over to the right and up until you see a crashed track next to a tree and rock wall. This comic is found on the driver’s seat of the truck.
