Trepang2 Trophy & Achievement Guide

trepang2 trophy achievement guide

Welcome to the Trepang2 Trophy and Achievement guide!

9/10 Estimated Difficulty – Rage Difficulty
12 – 15 Estimated Hours to Completion – Maybe more due to Rage Mode
2 Minimum Playthroughs – Play through the game on a lower difficulty for collectibles + misc. Trophies/Achievements & then a second on Rage Difficulty
0 Missable Trophies/Achievements

To start things out, you’re going to want to play through the story and side missions one time through on a lower difficulty. You’ll be able to knock everything out and just have the remaining difficulty Trophies/Achievements left over.

The side missions will become available as you progress through the story. After each mission, you are taken to a safehouse where you decide what mission to play next. None of the side missions are missable, so you don’t have to worry about that. There is a board that has all of the missions listed and you choose where to go.

Missables

Nothing in this game is missable and that includes the secret ending. More on the secret ending in a minute.

The main and side missions can be replayed at any time including post game. In addition to those missions, there is also a combat simulator that you can use for misc. Trophies/Achievements if you don’t get them during the story.

None of the collectibles are missable either. If you happen to miss anything, you can jump back in to the level and grab what you need. That includes the Drones which are needed for the secret ending.

Secret Ending

There is a Trophy/Achievement attached to getting the secret ending. You can get that ending by collecting seven drones. If you have all seven, the ending will automatically play out. If you are missing Drones, you can replay the missions that have them and collect them post game as well.

If you beat the game without having all seven, here’s what you can do.

  • Find the Drones you’re missing via the mission select and collect them all.
  • Replay the final mission, Horizon HQ
  • You’ll then be automatically thrown into the secret ending.

Cheats

There are cheats that can be unlocked in game, but they disable Trophies/Achievements. Do not turn them on if you are hunting Trophies/Achievements.

Unbreakable Will Unbreakable Will

Complete all campaign and side missions on Rage Mode difficulty

Rage Mode is the hardest difficulty in the game and it is very difficult.

It is very highly recommended that you do not play this difficulty until you have beaten the game and collected all of the weapon parts. You need to be very familiar with this game before attempting Rage Mode.

You will need to beat every main and side mission on Rage in order to earn the Trophy/Achievement.

Although incredibly difficult, here are some tips below.

  • The game is generous is with autosave checkpoints.
  • Spam invisibility and focus mode.
  • Spam sliding.
  • Rat bombs and mines are very useful in the bigger firefights.
  • Do not stay in the same position for too long. Use invisibility to change positions.
  • Equip the homing attachment to the Grenade Launcher
  • The incendiary attachment on Shotguns is very powerful, but you have to be careful when shooting an enemy. The fire on the enemy can damage you.
  • Always refill your ammo and armor at the Safehouse in between missions.
  • Do not stay out of cover for too long.
  • On some side missions, you can buy TF27 squads from the crates that allow you to buy gear. These are friendly AI soldiers that will fight with you.
  • During the last battle, there will come a point where you will need to destroy 6 objectives and pick up breaching charges. Once you pick up the breaching charges, a helicopter will spawn. Destroy the 6 items and then kill all of the enemies on the roof BEFORE picking up the breaching charges. That way, you can fight the helicopter without enemy soldiers attacking you at the same time.

Slide Into Your DMs Slide Into Your DMs

Slide into an enemy and grab him while he’s ragdolled

In order to earn this, you’re going to have to walk toward the enemy, hold / to slide and then immediately hold /  to grab them.

As soon as you make contact with your slide, hold / . It has to be very quick.

You can get this done in your very first combat encounter. After dropping down into the room from the vent, there will be an enemy with his back to you just outside through the doorway. Grab him and then kill him.

Make sure to reload your save so that you can get the “Trepangus” Trophy/Achievement here if you do happen to use that first enemy.

You're a Firework! You’re a Firework!

Shoot an enemy while he’s thrown as a hostage grenade, detonating his grenade

Grab an enemy by pressing / and then press / to activate their grenade. This will also throw them. When they land, all you have to do is shoot them before the grenade detonates on its own. Shooting them will set off the grenade which will pop this Trophy/Achievement.

This can be earned during the very first combat encounter of the game. After dropping down into the room from the vent, there will be an enemy with his back to you just outside through the doorway. Grab him and then press / . Shoot him before his grenade detonates.

Make sure to reload your save so that you can get the “Trepangus” Trophy/Achievement here if you do happen to use that first enemy.

Efficient Efficient

Use every bullet in a pistol magazine to get headshot kills

There are 13 rounds in a pistol magazine, so you’re going to have to get 13 consecutive headshots. Make sure that you do not reload while going for this. If you miss, you will need to reload your pistol and try again.

The easiest place to get this is toward the end of the Pandora Institute mission. You’ll be in a food court area fighting off waves of non human enemies.

What you want to do here is get the enemies grouped up so that they are in somewhat of a line chasing after you. Keep them all in front of you.

When they get near, enable Focus, shoot one in the head and then turn off Focus. When you turn Focus mode off, back up further to get them coming at you in a line again and repeat the process. You want to shoot when they are close together. That way, if you miss, you’re chances of hitting one either to the side or behind your target will be somewhat high.

They will spray acid at you from their mouths, so they duck their head when they are about to spit at you. Try to enable Focus when they are spitting at you so that the head stays in the same place for a few seconds.

You also want to try and not waste too much of your focus time. Enable it when you’re ready to fire and quickly turn it off to save some of the meter. One kill per Focus use. If you happen to run out, you’ll need to get a headshot in real time in order to refill it. Make sure you do that when they are grouped up to reduce the risk of missing.

If you miss, reload the checkpoint and try again.

That Was a Close One! That Was a Close One!

Kill an enemy with a headshot on final bullet in the mag

This is something that you’ll get as you earn the “Efficent” Trophy/Achievement above.

If you want to knock it out on its own, shoot the entire magazine until there is only a single bullet left. Then, go shoot an enemy in the head. You can use Focus to slow things down if needed. This also has to be done against an enemy without a helmet on.

Solid 106 Solid 106

Stealth kill an entire squad without anyone becoming alerted

This can be earned during the very first combat encounter in the game.

From inside of the vent, wait for the enemies to walk by and then drop down. Press / to crouch and then exit the room. Grab the enemy to your immediate left by pressing / and then press in the Right Stick to kill him.

Crouch again and then continue forward into the next room. Go down the stairs on your left and there will be two doorways ahead of you leading to the same room. Go through the doorway on your left. There will be an enemy ahead of you. Grab and kill him.

Next, crouch again and go around the crates to the left slowly where there will be another enemy ahead. Grab and kill him when he turns to walk in the opposite direction.

From here, crouch and go left again to see the final enemy waiting ahead of you. Grab and kill him and this will pop as long as you were not spotted. If you get caught, reload your last save to try again.

Stylish Stylish

Grab an enemy, throw and kill him with a headshot

Slide into an enemy by holding / to knock them down. Then go over to them and hold / to pick them up. While holding them hostage, enable Focus mode and then throw them with / . Now, you need to shoot the enemy in the head while they are flying through the air.

This is best done by using the pistol. It’s easier to control and you reduce the risk of killing them with body shots from automatic weapon spray.

This can also be done in the combat simulator on easy.

Oh Snap! Oh Snap!

Execute your first hostage

All you have to do for this is grab an enemy with / and then kill them while holding them.

JuggerNOT JuggerNOT

Kill a heavy soldier

This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.

How’s That Helmet Working? How’s That Helmet Working?

Kill an enemy by shooting through his helmet with a DMR

The DMR is the sniper rifle. All you have to do is shoot a soldier wearing a helmet in the head with the DMR.

You can either take a DMR with you into a mission, find one in a mission or buy one in the combat simulator while fighting waves of enemies at the Safehouse. Once you have one, get a headshot on a helmet wearing enemy.

Cost Effective Cost Effective

Kill 3 enemies with 1 grenade

This can be easily earned during the main mission, Pandora Institute during your first encounter with a group of infected enemies.

There will be a lot of enemies that spawn during this combat encounter and they group up as they chase you. Drop a grenade in a group of at least three of them.

Backfired Backfired

Shoot an enemy’s thrown grenade, killing him with it

This is something that may come naturally as you play through the game.

When an enemy is throwing grenades at you, try to leave him for last. Get near him and use Focus mode when he’s about to throw a grenade at you. When he throws it, shoot it while it is still close to him. If you’re having trouble hitting the grenade, a shotgun can help as it has a wide spread. Just make sure to not kill the enemy with your shot when going for the grenade.

There are a lot of enemies that will spam grenades at you toward the later stages of the game.

Stick Around Stick Around

Kill an enemy with a tomahawk

This can be earned during the Javik Castle mission.

As you progress through the mission, you’ll come to a staircase that heads up. There will also be an orange crate at the bottom of these stairs. The orange crates have throwables in them. This one will have a tomahawk in it. When you pick it up, all you have to do is throw it at someone and kill them. There will be enemies at the top of the stairs giving you a quick opportunity for this.

You’ll come across the previously mentioned staircase as part of the story.

Think Fast! Think Fast!

Kill an enemy with a flashbang impact

This one can be a little tricky to get to pop.

This can be done by starting a combat encounter in the Combat Simulator on easy. Play a few rounds to earn some money and then buy the Flashbangs from the gear chest.

Shoot an enemy in the leg three times, activate Focus and then throw a Flashbang directly at their head.

The enemy has to be killed from being hit with the actual Flashbang grenade itself, not from the flash or ensuing fire.

Flashlight! Flashlight!

Alert an enemy by shining a flashlight from behind, shoot him before he turns around

This can be earned during the very first combat encounter.

After dropping down into the room from the vent, there will be an enemy with his back to you just outside through the doorway. Stand up behind him and and aim at his head. When ready, press Up on the D-Pad to turn on your flashlight and then quickly shoot him before he can turn around.

Make sure to reload your save so that you can get the “Trepangus” Trophy/Achievement here if you do happen to use that first enemy.
