- 7 – 10 – Estimated Hours to Completion
- 1 – Minimum Play-throughs
- 1 – Missable Trophies/Achievements
- 0 – Difficulty Related Trophies
- 0 – Online Trophies
Far Harbor adds 10 Trophies/Achievements to Fallout 4 and this list is similar to the structure of the base game. You’ll need to complete the story for half of this list and then the rest is exploration based.
As you make your way through the DLC, make sure to kill any of the new creatures that you come across. Doing so will cut down on grinding time after everything else is completed. You are tasked with killing 30 of the new creatures in Far Harbor, so make sure to kill them as you come across them during your travels.
The DiMA computer puzzles in “Best Left Forgotten” can be skipped by placing all 5 of your turrets right up against the target block that requires the laser. Your turrets will shoot the block which will get rid of the firewalls allowing you to basically skip these puzzles. Make sure your turrets are placed directly up against the target block with no space in between.
1 Missable
During “Best Left Forgotten,” make sure you do the objective, Uncover the Location of the Nuclear Launch Key. If you don’t you’ll miss out on the “Cleansing the Land” quest which is required for a Trophy/Achievement.

Far From Home
Complete the quest “Far From Home”
This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.
In order to get this quest, you will need to have completed the “Getting a Clue” quest from the base game. After that, you can tune your Pip-Boy to the Valentine Detective Agency Radio. From there, go to Diamond City and speak to Valentine and the quest will begin where you will be introduced to Far Harbor shortly after.
Where You Belong
Complete the quest “Where You Belong”
This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.
This will automatically begin after you complete the second main story quest for Far Harbor, “A Walkin in the Park.”
The Way Life Should Be
Complete the quest “The Way Life Should Be”
This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.
This will automatically begin after you complete the main story quests for Far Harbor, “Where You Belong,” “Visions in the Fog” and “Best Left Forgotten.” “Visions in the Fog” is optional if you choose to kill the Children of Atom, but completing it will open up a path to a peaceful resolution here.
The DiMA computer puzzles can be skipped by placing all 5 of your turrets right up against the block that requires the laser. Your turrets will shoot the block which will get rid of the red blockage allowing you to basically skip these puzzles. Make sure your turrets are placed directly up against the target block.
Cleansing The Land
Complete the quest “Cleansing the Land”
MISSABLE
This is a story related Trophy/Achievement.
The only thing that makes this quest missable is if you do not find the location of the Nuclear Launch Key during “Best Left Forgotten.” Afterwards, make sure to pick up the key.
If you completed “Visions of the Fog” and told DiMA you would help replace the Confessor with a Synth for peace, “Cleansing the Land” will still be completed after replacing the Confessor and this will pop. Taking the peaceful route will require you to play through the “Reformation” quest. That will be given to you when you agree to replace the Confessor.
So this quest can be completed peacefully or by using the nukes. The choice is up to you.
Close To Home
Complete the quest “Close to Home”
This is an unmissable story related Trophy/Achievement.
This quest will be given to you after deciding the fate of Far Harbor. It is a very short quest that requires you to speak with Kasumi and her family. Do not tell her parents that she is a Synth or else you’ll miss out on a bigger reward from her dad.
The Islander’s Almanac
Collect all issues of “The Islander’s Almanac” magazine
There are five magazines to collect in Far Harbor. These work the same way as the magazines in the base game of Fallout 4.
1. Far Harbor – This is found inside of The Last Plank on a table where Longfellow was sitting.
2. National Park Visitor’s Center – This is found inside of the big building on the front desk next to a broken computer.
3. Acadia – This is found on the middle floor of Acadia on a counter top in the big open room. As soon as you enter Acadia, go down the stairs to the middle floor.
4. Northwood Ridge Quarry – There is a door in the northern corner of the quarry that will lead inside. Follow the short tunnel and clear out the Trappers. This is found up some stairs on a small table in a Trapper camp.
5. Brooke’s Head Lighthouse – This is found at the very top of the light house on a short bookshelf next to a stove.
Hooked
Defeat 30 Far Harbor Sea Creatures
Far Harbor adds a few new creatures to the game. The creatures that count toward this are listed below:
- Anglers
- Crawlers
- Gulpers
You’re going to want to save this Trophy/Achievement for last. You’ll be traveling all over Far Harbor, so you’re going to kill a lot of these in your travels during missions and exploration. If you still need this after doing everything else, walk along the various shorelines while spamming VATS. That way, you’ll know if there are any enemies around. VATS will lock on to them revealing their location. Just keep killing them them until you reach at least 30.
New England Vactioner
Discover 20 Far Harbor Locations
This is something that should come over time as you complete quests and explore Far Harbor.
Just like with the base game, traveling to an unexplored location will add it to your map allowing you to fast travel to it. Just explore Far Harbor and you’ll come across enough locations.
Push Back The Fog
Unlock 3 Far Harbor Workshop Locations
Workshop locations are settlements that you can build in Far Harbor. There are 4 of them in total, but only 3 are needed.
- Longfellow’s Cabin – This will be unlocked as part of Far Harbor’s main story after completing the “A Walk in the Park” quest.
- Dalton Farm – Speak to Cassie Dalton at Far Harbor and she’ll give you the Blood Tide quest. Complete Blood Tide to unlock this settlement.
- National Park Visitor’s Center – Before you can get this settlement, you’ll need to complete a few quests. “Living on the Edge” > “Rite of Passage” (speak to Teddy at Far Harbor) > “The Hold Out” (Speak to Mitch in The Last Plank after “Rite of Passage”)
- Echo Lake Lumber Mill – Speak to Small Bertha in Far Harbor after completing “Rite of Passage” and she’ll give you the quest, “Turn Back the Fog.” Complete that quest to unlock the settlement.
Just Add Saltwater
Cook One of the New Far Harbor Recipes
After killing the new creature types, make sure to loot them and pick up their meat. Once you have some meat, go to a cooking station, or build one, and then choose any of the recipes that involve the new creatures in Far Harbor.
- Anglers
- Crawlers
- Gulpers
You can also just roast the meat of Anglers if that is all you have. Poached Angler only requires 1 Angler Meat and does count for this.
