Welcome to the Trophy & Achievement guide for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy! This is a very fun and relaxing Trophy/Achievement hunt. It is a pretty diverse list with lots of story, combat and collectible related Trophies and Achievements.
Everything can be done in a single playthrough. There are no difficulty related Trophies/Achievements, so everything can be done on whatever difficulty you’d like to play on.
There is no free roam at the end of the game as is this is a linear game. However, there is chapter select. So you can go back and clean up any combat related Trophies/Achievements that you may have missed.
Chapter Select
Unfortunately, you cannot get everything via chapter select. If you miss any collectible related Trophies/Achievements, you will not be able to use chapter select to get them. When you use chapter select to replay a chapter, the game will reset your collectible count back to whatever it was when you played that chapter for the first time.
So, it’s very important that you do not use chapter select until after you have earned all of the collectible related Trophy/Achievements.
Follow the link below for a complete written collectible guide.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Collectible Guide
Save Your Money!
One Trophy/Achievement that you need to be aware of from the start is “Galactic Frugality.” You will reach a point in the game where you will earn credits. You’re going to need to hold on to these credits until Chapter 9. In Chapter 6, you’ll have the chance to spend credits. Do not spend any credits in Chapter 6. If you do, you wont have any money to pay off your fine in Chapter 9 and will miss this Trophy/Achievement.
Glitches of the Galaxy
Also, it is possible for “Fully Loaded” to glitch. If it does happen to glitch, don’t worry. There is an easy fix.
If you unlocked all of the abilities for all of the Guardians and it doesn’t pop, there are a couple of options to fix it. Your first option is to load up any chapter via chapter select and if you had enough ability points, you can buy any ability and the Trophy/Achievement will pop. Your other option would be to play through and fully complete any chapter where you unlock the fourth ability for a Guardian. Those chapters will be listed below in the guide.

Dynamic Team
Invest in at least one Special Ability for Gamora, Drax, Rocket and Groot.
See “Fully Loaded” below for more details.
Fully Loaded
Invest in all Special Abilities for all Companions.
Each of the Guardians has four special abilities. The first ability will be unlocked automatically for each Guardian. The fourth ability for each Guardian will automatically be unlocked at certain story points.
So for this, you’re going to need to buy the second and third ability for each Guardian. The second ability will cost two ability points. The third ability will cost 3 ability points. So in total you’re going to need to 25 ability points to fully unlock everything required for this. You will also unlock “Dynamic Team” while unlocking everything for this.
Ability points are earned by completing combat sections throughout the game. You will earn enough of these by just playing through the story without having to grind or go out of your way. So don’t worry about missing out on any ability points. You can unlock abilities pressing the Touchpad/View button and then press X/A on a Guardian.
- Drax’s 4th ability is called “Wrath of Katath.” This is auto unlocked in Chapter 12. You will need to use this ability to kill 10 enemies in order to unlock “Adding Injury to Insult.”
- Gamora’s 4th ability is called “Executioner.” This is auto unlocked in Chapter 12. You will need to use this ability to kill 10 enemies in order to unlock
- Peter’s 4th ability is called “Shield of Spartax. This is auto unlocked in Chapter 10. It is not required for any Trophies/Achievements.
- Rocket’s 4th ability is called “Five Barrel Barrage.” This is auto unlocked in Chapter 11. You will need to kill 20 enemies with this ability in order to unlock “Boom Show.”
- Groot’s 4th ability is called “Gift of the Florae.”. This is auto unlocked in Chapter 14. You will need to use this ability to heal your team 10 times in order to unlock “Herbal Remedy.”
*Glitch Warning*
It is recommended that you save at least one ability to unlock until after you have unlocked Groot’s 4th ability in Chapter 14. For some reason, this may not pop if Groot’s 4th ability is the last one you need.
If this happens, there are a couple of options to fix it. Your first option is to load up any chapter via chapter select and if you had enough ability points, you can buy any ability and the Trophy/Achievement will pop. Your other option would be to play through and fully complete any chapter where you unlock the fourth ability for a Guardian.

Pick Me Up
Revive a fallen team member.
Sometimes in combat your teammates will go down. All you have to do is get to them and hold Triangle/Y to revive them.
Stagger Swagger
Stagger 25 enemies.
You can stagger enemies by using Drax’s “Destroy” ability while in combat. Hold L1 and then press O + O/hold LB and then press B + B.
No Way, Nova Corps
Interrupt a Nova Centurion with Gamora’s Call to Action.
You’ll be introduced to Nova Centurion enemies in Chapter 7. You can earn this Trophy at the very first encounter with them as well. You’ll fight one alone and then a group of enemies with another two Centurions.
Basically, you just need to keep damaging the Centurions until you see a Triangle/Y prompt appear above them. When you see this prompt, press it.
Unfortunately, it’ll be random as to which of the Guardians will use their Call to Action. So, if you don’t get Gamora, pause the game and reload the checkpoint until it is Gamora’s.
Slakebuster
Interrupt a Slakebeast with Drax’s Call to Action.
You’ll be introduced to Slakebeasts in chapter 3. You’ll have a good opportunity to earn this during the second encounter with Slakebeasts when there are two of them.
Basically, you just need to keep damaging the Slakebeasts until you see a Triangle/Y prompt appear above them. When you see this prompt, press it.
Unfortunately, it’ll be random as to which of the Guardians will use their Call to Action. So, if you don’t get Drax, pause the game and reload the checkpoint until it is Drax’s.
Groot Canal
Interrupt a Charger with Groot’s Call to Action.
You’ll be introduced to the charger enemy type in Chapter 10. These are actually called “Ogrodes.” They will appear in Chapter 10 and 13.
This one works the same as the other character related Trophies/Achievements, except for one thing. For this, you will need to damage them until their health bars are low. Then, you will need to wait until you see Groot go up and grab one of these enemy types and lift them up. Once he does that, the Triangle/Y prompt will appear. Press it and this will unlock.
It may take awhile waiting for Groot to do this, so if these are killed or you’re team is about to kill them all, you can pause the game and reload the checkpoint until you get this.
Drax the Dismemberer
Dismember an Inquisitor with Drax’s Call to Action.
You’ll be introduced to the Inquisitor enemy type in chapter 7. You’ll have a good opportunity to earn this during the first encounter with the Inquisitor.
Basically, you just need to keep damaging the Inquisitor until you see a Triangle/Y prompt appear above them. When you see this prompt, press it.
Unfortunately, it’ll be random as to which of the Guardians will use their Call to Action. So, if you don’t get Drax, pause the game and reload the checkpoint until it is Drax’s.
Unstoppable Force
Attain the maximum possible Momentum 10 times.
Momentum is the score that you see on the left side of the screen while in combat. The maximum momentum score is “Marvelous.” You’ll need to hit “Marvelous” 10 times.
You can raise this score by quickly dealing damage to enemies. It’s not difficult at all to raise this score at all. Just deal damage quickly and consistently. This is something that should eventually pop as you play through the game.
The Crowd Goes Wild
Execute a Flair Attack 10 times.
Flair Attacks can be done when you see the Triangle + O/ Y + B prompt appear above an enemy. There’s really nothing you can do to get this prompt to appear other than to damage enemies. It’ll pop up when an enemy’s health bar is low. Just do the button prompt when it appears in order to execute a flair attack.
Set ’em Up, Knock ’em Down
Defeat 15 Staggered enemies with a Charged Shot.
Before you can get this, you will need to purchase the “Charged Shot” perk from a workbench. It will cost 600 basic components and 100 advanced components. Both basic and advanced components are found throughout the various chapters. There is a workbench aboard the Milano as well.
For this, you’re going to need to stun an enemy by filing up the white bar under their health bar. While they are stunned, you will then need to double tap and hold R2/RT to charge up your shot. Release the trigger when it is fully charged and kill the enemy while stunned.
This can be tricky, because the charged shot doesn’t do a whole lot of damage. So, this is best earned by farming it in Chapter 11.
In Chapter 11, you’ll eventually come to a section where you will fight waves of worm like enemies. These worms will infinitely spawn until you destroy their nests. They are also pretty weak. You can use your electric ammo type to stun them and drain their health a little bit. Then, use the charged shot to finish them off.
Bullet Hell
Defeat 15 enemies with Star-Lord’s Fan the Hammer ability.
For this, you will need to first buy the Fan the Hammer ability for Peter. It will cost two ability points.
Once you have the ability, you can activate it in combat by pressing L3 + Triangle/Left Stick + Y. All you have to do is get 15 kills while using this ability. This is accumulative.
Adding Injury to Insult
Defeat 10 enemies affected by Drax’s Wrath of Katath ability.
Drax’s Wrath of Katath ability is automatically unlocked in Chapter 12.
While in combat, press L1 + Square + O/LB + X + B to activate the ability. This will mark enemies with a red icon. For this Trophy/Achievement, you will need to kill enemies while they are marked with the red icon. It doesn’t matter who gets the kill. As long as the enemy is defeated while the red icon is displayed, it will count.
You can even use your teammate’s abilities to kill enemies. That is the easier way to knock this out. Especially by using Rocket’s “Cluster Flark Bomb” ability.
Trained to Perfection
Defeat 10 enemies with Gamora’s Executioner ability.
Gamora’s Executioner ability is automatically unlocked in Chapter 12.
While in combat, press L1 + Triangle + X/LB + Y + A to activate the ability. Gamora will then deal a lot of damage to an enemy.
Boom Show
Defeat 20 enemies with Rocket’s Five Barrel Barrage.
Rocket’s Five Barrel Barrage ability is automatically unlocked in Chapter 11.
While in combat, press L1 + X + Triangle/LB + A + Y to activate the ability. Rocket will then pull out a lot of weapons and fire over a large area. All you need is 20 kills with this ability to pop this.
Herbal Remedy
Revive or Heal Companions 10 times with Groot’s Gift of the Florae.
Groot’s Gift of the Florae will be automatically unlocked in Chapter 14.
While in combat, press L1 + Square + X/LB + X + A to activate the ability. Groot will then heal you and the team. If anyone is down, they will be revived as well. You’ll only need to use this a few times to pop this.
Altitude Adjustment
Defeat 20 enemies with Star-Lord’s Eye of the Hurricane.
For this, you will need to first buy the Eye of the Hurricane ability. It will cost three ability points.
Once you have the ability, you can activate it in combat by pressing L3 + O/Left Stick + B. This attack will damage multiple enemies in a single use. Make sure to damage the enemies and get their health bars low before using the ability to ensure that you’ll get the kills.
Killer Friendship
Execute an Auto-Combo with Gamora.
While in combat, you’ll need to be near Gamora. Repeatedly press Square/X to execute a melee combo. If Gamora is close enough to you while you do this, she will join the combo and pop this. It may take a few tries to initiate the combo.
Katathian Handshake
Execute an Auto-Combo with Drax.
While in combat, you’ll need to be near Drax. Repeatedly press Square/X to execute a melee combo. If Drax is close enough to you while you do this, he will join the combo and pop this. It may take a few tries to initiate the combo.
Aim Assist
Execute an Auto-Combo with Rocket.
While in combat, you’ll need to be near Rocket. Repeatedly press Square/X to execute a melee combo. If Rocket is close enough to you while you do this, he will join the combo and pop this. This can be a little tricky to execute as Rocket usually stays back or is on Groot during combat. So be sure to keep an eye out for an enemy near Rocket so you can get this done.
Timber!
Execute an Auto-Combo with Groot.
While in combat, you’ll need to be near Groot. Repeatedly press Square/X to execute a melee combo. If Groot is close enough to you while you do this, he will join the combo and pop this. It may take a few tries to initiate the combo.

Lore Hoader
Collect 65 % of all Galactic Compendium entries of each category.
Below is a link to the written guide on how to collect every collectible in the game which will unlock every collectible related Trophy/Achievement. All of these are missable. There is chapter select, but you will not be able to use that for collectibles. When choosing a chapter to play, the game will revert your collectible count back to whatever it was when you originally played that chapter. So, it’s very important to not use Chapter select until you have popped all of the collectible related Trophies and Achievements.
After you’ve collected all of the outfits, you will need to start a New Game + and then go through each character and equip each one to pop “Fashion Passion.”
Some story decisions will impact what collectibles can be obtained, so some are not only missable, but may not even be available to pick up. It would take three playthroughs to fully collect everything. Fortunately, this will not matter in terms of Trophies/Achievements. You only need 65% of the collectibles to complete this Trophy/Achievement list. All of the outfits can be done in a single playthrough. So they do not apply to story decisions.
In Chapter 2, you must side with Nikki while in the elevator with her and Ko-Rel. This is an important decision that can lock out collectibles later in the game.
Any important decisions that are needed will be noted in the guide below.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Collectible Guide
Galactic Frugality
Pay your Nova Corps fine.
During the game, you’ll come up with a plan to earn enough credits to pay off your fine. Depending on what plan you go with, you’ll end up with 7,000 to 9,000 credits. It does not matter what plan you choose. However many credits you earn from the plan will be enough to pay the fine, so don’t worry about that.
The Nova Corps fine is paid in Chapter 9. You’ll have the chance to spend credits in Chapter 6. If you spend your credits in Chapter 6, you may not have enough when it comes time to pay. So, it is very important that you do not spend any credits in Chapter 6. Save them all for the fine.
Towards the end of Chapter 9, you’ll speak with the Worldmind. After the conversation with the Worldmind, you’ll be given two choices. You’ll be able to choose to pay the fine or not. For this Trophy/Achievement, you’re going to need to pay the fine.
Eat It, Rodent
Win the bet against Rocket.
This is earned during Chapter 1 and the bet will be activated automatically as part of the story.
This bet will last a majority of the first chapter. There will be a score counter at the top of the screen. In order to win, you’re going to need to destroy more parasite nests than Rocket through out the chapter. You’ll be introduced to the parasite nests as part of the story. There are a lot of them spread out through the chapter, but you can find a majority of them inside of the skull that you will enter as part of the story. You can also use your scanner to see them as they will be highlighted yellow.
If you notice Rocket is shooting them and pulling ahead of you, you can load the last checkpoint and get them before he does.
This will pop near the end of the chapter if you have more than him.
