The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Trophy Guide & Roadmap (PS5)

Welcome to The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone Trophy Guide & Roadmap!

  • 3/10 – Estimated Difficulty
  • 10 – 12 – Estimated Hours to Completion
  • 1 – Minimum Play-Through
  • 4 – Missable Trophies
  • 0 – Difficulty Related Trophy
  • 0 – Online Multiplayer Trophies

This DLC is started by following the quest, Evil’s Soft First Touches. If that is not in your quest log, you can grab this quest by interacting with the Notice Board in Seven Cats Inn in Velen. You’ll then be able to pick up the quest from there. If neither of those options work, double check to make sure you have the DLC downloaded.

You’re going to want to make your way through the main story of the DLC while being aware of some missables. There are four missable Trophies here and they are all actions tied to events during main story missions. You will need to keep an eye for the following quests:

  • Dead Man’s Party
  • Open Sesame!
  • Scenes from a Marriage

Make sure to have back up saves you can revert to just incase you happen to miss them. If you don’t have a save, you can start a new playthrough of the DLC from the main menu. The rest of the Trophies here are miscellaneous. They can be done at any time.

 I’m Not Kissing That

Kill the prince cursed into a toad.

This is a story related Trophy.

 Let the Good Times Roll!

Participate in all the activities at the wedding.

MISSABLE – Dead Man’s Party Main Quest

This takes place during the main story mission, Dead Man’s Party. Progress the mission until you are at the, “Take part in the wedding activities until midnight,’ objective. For this Trophy, you will need to interact with every activity at this wedding. The activities will be marked on your map, so go to each one of them and participate in all of them. Do not speak to Master Mirror until you have completed every marked activity. The Trophy won’t pop right away. After all of the objective markers have been cleared, carry on with the quest and this will pop after a few cutscenes at the wedding.

  • Pig Chasing – Heard the pigs with the marks on their backs into the pens by walking next to them and directing them.
  • Slipper Diving – You will need to dive into the water and retrieve a shoe at the bottom. Use the Witcher sense to find it.
  • Speak to Women – There are two women in the area and you will need to talk to each one and charm them.
  • Dancing – Inside one of the rooms will be a stage and other NPCs dancing, go over to where they are and Geralt will start dancing.
  • Drinking – There is a small table near the dancing area. Walk over to it and take a drink. There is also a second table outside with two women next to it that you need to drink at.
  • Sword Swallower – Track down the missing sword swallower by using your Witcher senses.
  • Gwent – Play a round of Gwent.
  • Sit Down – Climb a ladder to reach the second floor inside of where you danced head to the objective marker and interact with a pillow on the ground to sit down. There is a ladder next to the dance floor as well as outisde the room.

 Shopaholic

Buy all the items put on the block at the Borsodis’ Auction House.

MISSABLE – Open Sesame! Main Quest

This takes place during the main story mission, Open Sesame!. Before progressing the quest, you will need to make sure you have at least 670 coins. That’s how much it will take in order to buy all of the items at the Auction House. During the auction, you will need to bid on all three items when given the option. These will be timed options, so make sure to bid every time you are prompted.

 Curator of Nightmares

Recreate all of Iris’ nightmares in the Painted World.

MISSABLE – Scenes From a Marriage Main Quest

This takes place during the main story mission, Scenes from a Marriage. Progress through the quest until Geralt enters a painting. You’ll then be in the Painted World. There are 8 nightmares that you need to recreate. Seven of the nightmares in this painting are unmissable. Only 1 of the 8 nightmares are missable. Luckily, the missable nightmare will be right in front of you at the start of the section. It is the Gazebo that is straight ahead. Use your Witcher sense in the gazebo and pick up the glowing red objects. Then, place them in the right positions to complete the nightmare. Once the cutscene plays after placing the two items, the gazebo will be completed.

  • The Spirit From the Steppe – Place the book in Olgierd von Everec’s hand
  • Painter’s Palette – Place the palette on the small round table next to Olgierd von Everec.

The remaining 7 nightmares are required in order to finish the quest, so they cannot be missed.

  • Fountain
  • Dinner Table
  • Bedroom
  • Painting
  • Olgierd’s Room
  • Cellar
  • Dining Room

 Pacta Sunt Servanda

Finish the “Hearts of Stone” expansion.

This is a story related Trophy.

 When It’s Many Against One…

Provoke all Iris von Everec’s Nightmares into fighting you at the same time and defeat them.

MISSABLE – Scenes From a Marriage Main Quest

This takes place during the main story mission, Scenes from a Marriage. This will take place right after you earn the, “Curator of Nightmares,” Trophy. You’ll go into a room and read a letter from Olgierd and then will be attacked by a group of enemies. When the combat begins, do not attack anyone. Go to each enemy and use Aard on them. You need to have every enemy aggro’d to you at the same time. If you kill even 1 enemy before that, the Trophy will be missed. So, don’t attack them with swords to aggro them. Instead, just use Aard. It won’t kill them. Once they are all awake and fighting you, then you can kill them. The Trophy won’t pop until the fight is over.

 Return to Sender

Kill 3 opponents with their own arrows.

First, you will need to unlock the, Arrow Deflection, skill in the Combat tree and raise to level 2. Once you have it unlocked, make sure to equip it. Then, go to any bandit camp(s) and look for archer enemies. Kill all of the melee enemies and leave the archers alone until they are the only enemies left. From there, just wait for them to shoot arrows at you and then deflect them back by parrying with . You need to get the timing just right in order for the arrow to be deflected back at them. Wait for them to aim at you and then parry. It might take a few tries to get the timing down, so make sure to have Quen active to prevent damage.

 Can Quit Anytime I Want

Be under the influence of seven potions or decoctions at the same time.

Before you can earn this Trophy, you’re going to need to unlock some skills. If you don’t already have them, make sure to unlock and max out the Heightened Tolerance and Acquired Tolerance skills from the Alchemy tree to increase your Toxicity level. You can make a save before doing this so that you can get your skill points back after the Trophy is done. If you don’t have required skill points available, you can drink a Potion of Clearance to respec your skills. This can be bought from Gremist near Gedyneith in Skellige. Once you have done that, go to a Herbalist (or stay with Gremist) and craft 7 potions. Make sure they are all in your inventory and press on each one to drink them. Just drink each one until the Trophy pops. For me, I drank the following:

  • Wolven Hour
  • Pops Mold Antidote
  • Superior Swallow
  • Drowner Pheromones
  • Enhanced Thunderbolt
  • Cat
  • Full Moon

Wild Rose Dethorned

Defeat all the fallen knights and loot their campsites.

In order to earn this, you are going to have to go to 8 campsites and kill the fallen knights at each one. You will also need to loot the chests at each campsite. These are just normal bandit camps, except they have enemies labeled as fallen knights. So, go there, kill them and loot chests. You’ll know the camp is “completed” when the white bandit camp icon on your mini map is greyed out. If it is still bright white, you aren’t done there yet. Meditate to see if more enemies come or search the area for the right chest. These camps are great places to kill enemies with deflected arrows if you need the Return to Sender Trophy as well.

The first camp is located northwest of Sarrasin Grange sign post.

I Wore Ofieri Before It Was Cool

Collect all available Ofieri armor and horse gear, and at least one Ofieri sword.

This can be started by speaking to the merchant, Dulla kh’Amanni, at the Upper Mill. Speak to him and buy the following items:

  • Ofieri Decorated Saber
  • Ofieri Blinders
  • Ofieri Saddlebags

After you’ve bought those, speak with the merchant again and choose, “Fine horse you got.” This will lead to a race.

  • Ofieri Stock Saddle – Win the race against the merchant.

Speaking to him will also give you the, “From Ofier’s Distant Shores,” quest. This will task you with finding 4 armor diagrams. 3 of the 4 diagrams are found in chests that you have to loot for the “Wild Rose Dethorned,” Trophy. So, if you’ve already done that, then you should have 3 of them already. Once you have all 4 of them, return to the merchant and he will translate them for you. When that is done, head to the blacksmith, Yoana, in Crow’s Perch and craft each piece of armor.

  • Ofieri Boots
  • Ofieri Scale Armor
  • Ofieri Gauntlets
  • Ofieri Sharovary Trousers

You do not need to wear them or equip them to Roach. You just need to have them all in your inventory at the same time. You can make a save before crafting them if you want to get your money and materials back.

 Moo-rderer

Kill 20 cows.

This can be earned at Martin Feuille’s Farmstead in northern Novigrad. There is a pasture full of cows here. All you have to do is go through and kill all of the cows here. Once you’ve killed them all, meditate for 24 hours and they will respawn. You can kill the remaining cows until this pops.

While you’re here, use a Northern Wind bomb on one of the cows to freeze it and then shoot it with your crossbow while it is frozen to earn the, “Hasta la Vista, Trophy from the Blood and Wine Trophy list.

 Rad Steez, Bro!

Slide downhill uninterrupted for at least 10 seconds.

This can be earned over in Skellige at the Distillery sign post. This is at the top of the mountain at the southeast corner of the main island. From the sign post at the top, turn around to see a broken wooden walkway. Step off that walkway and you’ll start to slide down. You might stop sliding shortly after, but that’s okay. Just keep going forward until the slope increases again and there will be slope that Geralt can slide all the way down to the water. It has to be 1 continuous slide for 10 seconds. Geralt will automatically start sliding when he is on a steep enough incline. Make a save at the top incase it doesn’t pop and you need to try again.

 Killed it

Win a round of gwent with a total strength of at least 187.

This is something that is better earned when you have completed the set from the base game. You can also earn this Trophy during the base game if you hit higher than 187 in any Gwent match. You don’t need to land on 187 exactly, just need to be higher than it. You also just need to win a single round with a higher score. Not the entire match. You’ll need to just stack as much strength on the field as you can.

Make sure you are stacking your deck with the strongest cards you have. Here are some cards worth having in your deck:

  • Cards with Tight Bond perk to multiply their strength
  • High strength cards
  • Medic Cards. These cards can revive a card from your discard pile and place it back on the field.
  • Spy cards. These are essential. Playing a spy card will allow you to draw 2 more cards. I had 4 of these in my deck. You need to be able to play as many cards down as you can, so being able to draw more is critical.
  • Commander’s Horn. These cards double the strength of all unit cards in whichever row you place it. I had 2 of these in my deck.
  • Either the Northern Realms deck with the Lord Commander of the North leader, or Sunny Day card to clear weather effects. Your opponent might play a weather effect on you which will cut the strength of your cards to one.

One card you need to watch out for is the Scorch card. These will kill the strongest card(s) on the field. So try to hold back on multiplying your strength until the opponent is either out of cards, or has passed on their turn to ensure that they do not use a Scorch. If your opponent plays a weather card, that can actually be helpful. Do not clear that weather effect right away. Instead, you can use that as an opportunity to stack your strongest cards without having to worry about Scorch. The weather effect will reduce your strength to 1, so go ahead and stack Tight Bond cards and Commander’s Horns in rows effected by weather. Their strength will likely be lower than other cards on the field while effected, so they can’t be targeted by Scorch. Wait to clear the weather until your opponent has passed on their turn. Once it’s cleared, your strength will shoot back up.
