Welcome to the Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake Trophy guide and Walkthrough.
The guide below was written based off the Easy difficulty, but there are no difficulty requirements for Trophies/Achievements.
This isn’t a traditional Trophy/Achievement guide, but the list is just about all story related Trophies/Achievements.
There are only two non story related Trophies/Achievements. One is for completing Boss Survival mode. The boss strategies are all explained here in the walkthrough. None of them are that difficult.
You will need to first beat the game in order to play through Boss Survival mode. You cannot die or else you’ll need to start over.
Make sure to pick up the Rations and ammo during each fight to have them for the later bosses.
The other is for reading the Screenplay Book. All you have to do is open the book at the Master Collection menu and tab through all the way to the end.

To start, head north and then go east in the next section.
Get in the back of the truck and pick up the Ration.
Exit the truck and go north. Crawl through the hole in the fence.
Follow the path to the left and keep going until you come to another hole in the fence.
Follow the path to the right until you come to a third hole in the fence. Crawl through that one too.
Go right in the next area and get in the back of the truck to find the Handgun. Don’t use this until we find the suppressor.
Exit the truck and crawl into the open vent at the top of the screen.
Take the vent path north.
When you exit the vent, you’ll be on a catwalk. Follow it around to the stairs and go down the stairs.
Head west, north and then go up the stairs and enter the door.
Go right, up and then left and you’ll come to a room with elevators.
Punch the arrows next to the elevator to call the elevator down.
Ride the elevator up to the second floor.
Exit the elevator and take the top right doorway.
Crawl on the walkway, otherwise it’ll attract an enemy.
Go into the doorway directly across from the catwalk you crawled across and you’ll find Card 1.
Exit the room and go north and enter the door on the right with Card 1. Pick up the Binoculars.
Exit the room and go north to pick up the Ration on the ground in the corner.
Return to the elevator and ride it up to the third floor.
Exit the elevator and use Card 1 to open the door in the top right of the room.
Head to the top of the room and go through the door on the top right.
There will be a sensor in the next room. Wait for the lasers to clear and then go south.
In the next room, equip the Cigarettes to reveal the lasers.
Head to bottom left and move on to the next area.
Make your way over to the door on the right side and enter the room.
Avoid the lasers and pick up the Gasmask.
Exit the room and head back north.
Get back to the room with the sensor in the middle and exit west.
Get back to the elevator room and take the door through south door.
Continue south until you come to two doors on the right.
Open the top door, equip the Gasmask and then enter.
Go to the right and then go up on the left side of the room. Use Card 1 to open the door on the left side of the room. Be quick to avoid the camera.
You’ll reach Dr. Marv in this room.
After the conversation, it’ll be time for the first boss fight.
He’ll teleport around the area.
Get to the bottom of the screen and he’ll stay in the center of the area.
Use your Handgun to take shots at him from the outside of the center area. He’ll throw three ninja stars at you. Just keep moving and they should be fairly easy to dodge.
If he teleports somewhere else, just move to the left side and he should get back to the center of the area.
After the fight, he’ll drop Card 2. Pick it up and then exit the way you entered.
Return to the elevator room.
From there, go north and return to the room where the sensor is that we passed earlier.
Before going east, watch for the white dot on the radar in the next area to start heading down.
Enter and equip the Cigarettes and avoid the lasers. Watch out for the camera and use Card 2 to enter the door on the east wall.
Pick up the Mine Detector.
Exit this room and get back to the area where the sensor is.
Once there, crawl into the vent that is labeled, “DUST.”
In the new area, go south and use Card 1 to enter the door before you can be pushed off the walkway.
Follow the path south and then west until you come to a door. Use Card 1 to open it.
Enter the elevator and ride it up to B1.
Exit the elevator and go north. Enter the open door on the left to find some the Infrared Goggles.
Deal with the enemy and then go in the top right door with Card 1 to find three ammo boxes.
Don’t go to the top left. There is a trap door.
Return to the elevator room.
Take the south door with Card 2.
Go in the bottom left door and pick up the Plastic Explosives.
Take the east exit and enter the room at the bottom to find the Submachine Gun.
Return to the elevator room.
Take the elevator up to 02.
Take the west exit. Make sure to crawl to not alert the nearby enemy. Use your radar to see where he is before going.
Enter the door at the end of the hallway with Card 2 and pick up the Suppressor.
Return to the elevator room and take the right elevator down to 01.
Exit the elevator and go east.
You’ll be back in the first room we entered earlier in the game.
Go south and follow the walkway to the stairs. Go down the stairs.
Go east to the two tanks.
Go north up the hallway along the walkway you were just on. Follow it to the right to the second door. Use Card 2.
Go west and then north.
You’ll now be in the jungle following the soldier with the green beret.
For the next section, just follow the enemy in the green beret.
Don’t get too close. He’ll stop and turn around usually at each corner. So hang back a bit and stay out of sight.
If he sees you, you’ll need to start over.
You can start over be re-entering the starting building and waiting for the green beret soldier to come over and exit. He’ll be coming from the right side by the tanks.
When you reach the building, you can take him out.
Enter the building.
When you enter the building, you’ll hear a tapping.
This is a Tap Code you can figure out. Or, you can just call 140.82 in the Codec.
Exit the building and follow the directions below:
Answer the Codec call.
Equip the Mine Detector and cross the minefield. You can crawl over them to pick the mines up. You need to pick these up for a future boss fight.
You’ll need to crawl the area with the guards. The sound of your footsteps will attract their attention.
The truck on the left has two ammo boxes in it.
The truck in the top right has a Ration.
Continue north for the next few areas until you see the Hind-D taking off.
Quickly run south and return to the jungle.
Once you’re back in the jungle, go east. The path through the swamp is in the bottom right.
If you fall off the path, quickly go back to get back on the path.
Follow the path pictured below and reach the building.
Enter the building, go through the door at the top of the screen and it’ll be time to for the next boss fight.
Equip the Gas Mask and Mines.
As you go toward Running Man, he will run away. Plant mines in the narrow hallways and run toward Running Man. He’ll run away from you and step on the mines. Repeat this until you kill the boss.
Just be careful as it is possible to step on your own mines here.
After the fight, go to his body and finish the dialogue. He’ll explode and leave behind Card 3. Pick it up and then exit south.
Enter the door on the right with Card 3.
Speak to the kid in front and he’ll tell you where to find the Stinger Missile.
From here, you’re going to have to head back through the swamp and jungle to return to the Zanzibar Land facility.
Follow the exact path you used before to cross the swamp, just in reverse.
In the jungle, follow the directions below:
- Bottom Left
As soon as you enter, go through the door south using Card 3.
Go south in the next room. Crawl under the vent on the right to avoid the camera. When it’s clear, take the south exit.
Continue south until you come to a room where there will be ammo in the bottom right corner and a door on the left. Pick up the ammo and enter the door on the left with Card 3.
Pick up the Stinger Missile in the room and then exit.
Head north and get back to the room where the tanks are.
Go east and enter the door on the bottom of the screen with Card 2.
Head east after going through the door.
Go up the stairs and use Card 3 to enter the door.
Pick up the Red Card. The Red Card will open doors that require Cards 1, 2 and 3. You won’t have to switch between cards for those doors.
From the Red Card room, take the door at the top of the screen.
Go east in the next room and then crawl into the “DUST” vent.
Exit through the door at the bottom of the screen and follow the path to the elevator room.
Ride the elevator up to B1.
Exit the elevator and take the bottom door.
Go east and then north right away in the following rooms.
Go into the room in the bottom right to pick up the Remote Controlled Missiles.
Backtrack to the elevators and ride up to 02.
Get out of the elevator and then take the elevator on the right down to 01.
Exit the elevator and then get back to the jungle.
From where you are, it’ll be:
- North Go through the door at the stairs.
Make your way through the jungle and to the desert.
The mines will be back in the desert, so be careful.
Make your way to where the Hind-D took off earlier in the game.
Stand in the bottom right corner during the fight.
When the Hind fires at you, unequip the Stinger and run to the right to switch areas and then go back after its dot has left the area on the radar.
Aim the Stinger reticle at where the white dot is about to be on the radar. It does not have to be in your area.
Put the reticle just in front of where the Hind is going to be and fire it. Your missile will hit it off screen.
Repeat the process until it is destroyed.
After the fight, go north and you’ll come to a big door.
Go west and crawl in the vent in the top left side of the screen to find a Ration.
Exit the vent and go all the way east.
Enter the truck and pick up the Cardboard Box.
Equip the Cardboard Box and walk onto the conveyor belt on the top right and you’ll be taken inside of the tower.
Once inside of the tower, head north.
Crawl into the vent ahead of you to find another Ration.
Go north and then follow the path all the way around until you are at the inside elevator. It’ll be the second elevator you come to.
Ride the elevator down to B1.
Exit the elevator and then head south.
Follow the path in the next area to the left.
The first door has two ammo boxes in it and the second door has Plastic Explosives in it.
Continue west and then north.
Enter the room at the top of the path and you’ll find a lone kid in the room. You can speak to her if you’d like.
Head east and then enter the door. Punch the right wall to find where it’s weak and then plant Plastic Explosive to blow open the wall.
Go through the opening and you’ll find Holly. She’ll give you Card 4.
After speaking with her, exit and go back to the elevator.
Ride it up to 01.
Go back around to the outside elevator now.
Ride it up to 10.
Exit the elevator and go right. Punch the south wall until you find the weak point. Plant the Plastic Explosive.
Go through the opening and head to the left. Go the corner next to the broken elevator and plant another Plastic Explosive.
Go through the opening.
Head east and punch the south wall near the doorway below.
Go through the opening and then use the Red Card to enter the bottom right room to find a Ration, ammo and Plastic Explosive.
Exit the room and head west.
Use Card 4 on the next door and enter to pick up Grenades.
Backtrack to the elevator and ride it down to 01.
Go left and follow the winding path all the way to the middle.
There will be a vent you can enter along the way that has a Ration in it.
Get to the third elevator and ride it up to 30.
Exit the elevator and it’ll be time for another boss fight.
As soon as the fight starts, get up against the north wall.
When he throws a grenade at you, dodge it by going left or right. Throw your grenades up at him while you’re up against the north wall.
Just keep hitting him with grenades until he dies.
After the fight, head south and then west to the door.
You can keep running into the white barriers and they’ll break.
Go through the door to south and head up the stairs to Floor 31.
Plant Plastic Explosive on the north wall.
Go through the opening.
Equip your B2 Ration and then get as close to the pigeon as you can when it lands.
You can track it on your radar as a white dot.
You can call Miller at 140.38 for some hints on the note.
He’ll tell you to call 140.51.
After that, call 140.82.
With all that done, it’ll now be time to find Gustava.
Now, you need to backtrack to the Zanzibar Land base.
Take the elevator back to the middle of that winding area. Make sure to get another Ration out of the same vent earlier.
Use the door on the south wall of winding hallways to exit.
Head south through the desert and jungle and then enter the Zanzibar Land base.
Don’t forget to check the two trucks in the desert for Rations and ammo.
Also, the mines will be planted again, so make sure to crawl through the minefield.
Once you’re inside the base, go east.
Take the door on the south wall and then go west in the next room.
In the right corner, head south and get around to the stairs that lead up onto the catwalk.
Go up the stairs and head east and then north.
Take your first left back to the elevator room.
Ride the elevator up to 03.
Exit the elevator and go through the door at the bottom of the screen using the Red Card.
Continue south until you come to the two doors again. Go through the top door and equip your Gas Mask.
Follow this path up to the door at the top of the screen under the camera.
Use Card 4 to open the door and pick up the Gas Grenade.
From here, backtrack to the room with two doors and take the bottom one.
Follow this path over and then up to the next door. Use Card 4 to enter and pick up the
This room will be dark. Go over to the switch and punch it to turn the lights on.
Use Card 4 on the door at the top of the once dark room.
Kill the three guards and then go through the next door.
There are trap doors in the next room.
Kill the guard and pick up the Night-Vision Goggles while avoiding the traps.
With that done, backtrack to the elevator room.
Once there, use Card 4 on the door on the left wall and enter.
Go into the top right door.
Follow the path through the doors (north, east, south) until you come to the Mouse on the desk.
Return the room with the several doors and take the one on top left.
Follow the path north through the door and pick up another Mouse.
Return the room and go in the door in the middle.
Enter and pick up the B3 Ration.
Exit the Ration room and head south.
Avoid the sensor and use Red Card to enter the door where you’ll find RC Missiles.
Exit that room, avoid the sensor and take the west exit.
Enter the next room to collect some Mines.
Exit that room and head north.
There is another room here. This one has a lone child walking around in it.
Head to the elevator room and ride it up to 04.
Exit the elevator and go through the west door.
Wait for the sensor to stop before moving north. There is also an enemy up here, so wait for this white dot to head north before advancing into the area.
Continue north when its clear.
Follow the camera up and quickly run up and then left. Follow the path south.
There is a child walking around in the room on your right.
Continue south and take the door on the right at the bottom.
There is another child and a door to the south.
Go through the door.
It will be dark in this room, so use your Night-Vision Goggles.
Crawl through the vent on the right.
Enter the door on the bottom wall and you’ll be surrounded by mannequins.
Follow the path through the rooms of mannequins. The second room will have a guard waiting by the door and the third room will have three.
They’ll be positioned differently each time you enter.
If you enter and are caught, back out of the area and re-enter in a different position. Shoot down the rows until you hit all three or just run for the door on the right with Card 4.
In the next area, do not kill any of the guards. One of them is Gustava dressed up as the enemy.
Go to the far east side of the room and use Red Card to enter the door and you’ll find two Rations.
Exit that room and go south.
Go right and enter the men’s bathroom. Pick up the Bucket.
Exit the bathroom and then wait for one of the guards to enter women’s bathroom. When she does, follow her in there and you’ll meet Gustava.
Take the very convenient elevator in the bathroom down to B3.
Take the north exit. There are vehicles driving through the areas in this next section. Avoid these by switching areas or ducking into cutouts.
There is ammo in the cutout on the left. Continue north.
There will be traps in the hallways so keep moving.
Go north again and then west.
Continue north and then west again. Go into the elevator at the top of the screen.
Ride it up to 01.
You’ll automatically come out into the room with Dr. Madnar.
He will follow you and you’ll have Card 5.
Return to the elevator and ride down to B3.
Head east all the way to the end of the hallway and go through the door at the top of the screen.
Follow the hallway until a scene plays.
Afterwards, follow the hallway all the way to the end and get in the elevator.
Ride it up to 01.
Exit the elevator and go left.
Equip the Mine Detector and and continue west until you reach the end.
Go north carefully to avoid the mines. You can actually go up the left side of the fence where the trucks are. Then, carefully inch yourself left near the top and you’ll go between the top two mines.
Approach the bridge and then a scene will play.
After the scene, you’ll now have Card 6 and Gustava’s Brooch.
Backtrack the way you just came and crawl across the mines to pick them up. There are more mines in the truck here as well.
Go to the right and crawl in front of the trucks to pick up the mines.
I’ll number the trucks from left to right. 1 -4
- Truck 1 – RC Missile and Gas Grenade
- Truck 2 – Ammo
- Truck 3 – Grenades
- Truck 4 – Ration and Plastic Explosives.
Return to the west area and enter the door at the bottom of the screen.
You’ll be back in the winding room with the elevators.
Head south and exit through the door to the south east yet again.
Cross the desert and jungle again.
Enter the Zanzibar base.
Go east and then enter the door on the bottom of the screen with the Red Card.
Go down the stairs and head east. Go up the stairs and into the door with the Red Card.
In the room with four doors, take the door on the left with Card 6 and you’ll find the Blue Card. This will take the place of Cards 4, 5 and 6.
Go back through the door and then go to through the top door.
Head to the right and go down the “DUST” vent again.
Exit south and then follow the path to the elevator room. You can use the Blue Card here to go through the top door to speak with two kids.
Get in the elevator and ride it up to B1.
Exit south and stock up on ammo from these rooms.
- Bottom Left – Plastic Explosive
- Right – Ammo
Go to the bottom right area.
- Top Right – Grenades
Head north from the previous room.
- Right – RC Missiles
- Top Left – Stinger Missiles and Ammo
Head up the top right corner of the area as a whole.
- Door at the top – Body Armor
After you stock up on everything in here, head over to the far west side and use the Blue Card.
Head north along the back hallway and use the Blue Card to open the door on the right.
You’ll find an Oxygen Tank and a Mouse.
Exit this room and go north. Enter the next door on the left to find Gas Grenades.
Get over to the opposite hallway and enter the door under the camera to find the Camouflage Mat.
After you’re all done stocking up on everything, return to the elevator room that we used to get here.
Ride it up to 02, exit and then take the right side elevator up to 04.
Exit the elevator and go through the door on the left.
Get around the sensor and head north.
Take the west path at the intersection to speak to two children in two separate rooms.
At the intersection, go east and then into the door at the bottom of the screen to speak with two more children.
Take the north door down the eastern hallway of the intersection.
In this next room, go right.
The next section will make loud footsteps, so be careful in here.
Crawl down south. When the camera gets near you, equip the box and sit still until it passes. Or you can crawl under a bed.
Go all the way to the bottom right and use the Red Card to open the door. Make sure to crawl into the door to not make noise.
The next room will be dark. Do not turn on the lights. It’ll wake up all of the enemies.
Instead, equip your Night-Vision Goggles.
Make your way to the north side of the room and enter the door with the Blue Card.
Go in the room and pick up the Cold Medicine.
Exit the medicine room and go to the bottom right corner of the bed room and enter through the door.
You’ll be in a sauna. Crawl under the bench and hide. An enemy will enter the room. Wait for him to leave and then check the Brooch. It should have changed into a key from the heat of the sauna.
Exit the sauna and take the door on the left that we entered from earlier. Remember to crawl in that room.
Go all the way to the top of the room and then go left. Equip the Brooch key and walk into the fourth locker of the top row.
Pick up the Cassette Tape inside the locker.
You can also go into the first locker of the bottom row to find a kid who is playing hide and seek.
Go back to the east side of this room and crawl into the “DUST” vent.
Exit at the bottom and follow the path all the way around to the elevator.
Ride the elevator up to 02. Get off and then take the right elevator down to 01.
Exit the elevator and go east.
Follow the catwalk down and around to the stairs. Go down the stairs.
From the stairs, go all the way to the east. You’ll be back in the first area we entered at the beginning of the game.
Enter the big door at the top of the screen with the Blue Card.
Equip the Cassette and head north. Go all the way to the top and enter the room.
Pick up the Hang Glider.
Now, its time to head back to the tower. You can cross the jungle and desert to return.
Once inside, get to the second elevator.
Ride the elevator up.
The elevator will stop at 19 and it’ll be time for another boss fight.
When the fight starts, you’ll be ambushed by four enemies. Use your Body Armor and Submachine gun to take them out.
There are four enemies, but they jump in based on where you’re standing in the elevator. So if you stay in certain spots, you can control how many are in the elevator.
If you get to the bottom right corner, only two will jump in at a time. You’ll need to dodge their attacks, but stay around that corner.
After the first two are dead, go over to the bottom left and one of them will jump in.
When there is on the bottom right enemy left, get to the top left and he’ll jump in.
After the fight, Card 7 will spawn in front of you.
Pick it up. The elevator will then break taking you all the way back down.
Exit the elevator and go back around to the outside elevator. Ride it up to 10.
Exit the elevator and punch the wall on the on left.
Blow it open with plastic explosive.
Avoid the two sensors by going to the top cutout and the one on the left.
You’ll have to keep moving and time it right.
In the next section, you’ll be in alert mode and enemies will be chasing you. Equip your Body Armor and Submachine gun.
Run up the stairs. You’ll eventually come to some white barriers. Just keep running into them and continue going.
There will be a traps in the center of the platform after floor 17.
Make your way up to 20 and use Card 7 to enter the door.
There is a child inside of the room straight ahead of you.
Go to the right and then head south.
Follow the path around to the door at the bottom to find three boxes of ammo if you need it.
Head back up north.
There’s another child in a room on the east side.
When you’re ready, head north and answer the codec.
Follow the path over to the top.
Equip the Cigarettes and just stand still. If the smoke blows north, equip the hang glider and walk off the edge.
When you land, take the path left.
Enter the gate with Card 7.
Another boss fight is next.
Jungle Evil will randomly pop up out of the grass and fire at you. All you have to is throw grenades at him.
You don’t have to hit him directly. Just getting the grenade near him is enough.
Keep cover in front of you and wait for him to pop up. This fight can take place over multiple areas.
Sometimes you can get him to pop up within range while you’re behind cover.
After the fight, he’ll drop Card 8. Pick it up and go through the northwest gate.
Enter the building ahead and crawl under the table or use the cardboard box to hide from the cameras.
Enter the door with Card 8.
Go through the left door in the next room. Equip the Infrared Goggles to avoid the lasers and pick up the Egg.
Take the top right exit in the egg room.
Continue into the next room and pick up another egg.
Exit through the door on the left and then go back outside.
Backtrack through the Jungle Evil boss fight area. Go through the Card 7 door to the south.
One of the eggs will be a snake. It’ll be moving through your inventory. It will also eat your rations when it gets to them.
So, press / / when the snake is over the egg shell in your inventory to get rid of it.
Head east three times after exiting the gate.
The firs truck has ammo in it and the second truck has gas grenades, grenades and a ration.
Continue east after the trucks, avoid the sensor and keep going.
There is a truck in this area that has a ration, but there are three enemies inside waiting for you. So get it or don’t.
If you go left, you can find a room of three children you can speak to for some hints.
If you go to the right and follow the path all the way up, you can find a ration.
Look in your inventory and equip the Owl outside of the laser gate. Just stand there and wait. Eventually, it’ll make a noise and that will get the guard to turn off the laser gate.
There are three rooms in this area. The one on the bottom right has ammo, plastic explosives and grenades.
The one on the top right has a child in it.
The room on the bottom west side has a child in it as well.
The top left room is the room we need in order to advance the story.
As soon as you enter, go left or right to avoid the vehicle.
Go left and up the narrow hallway to a door that you can open with the Blue Card. Go through it to find a ration.
Get back inside and make your way down and then up the right hallway with the vehicle.
Advance forward when the vehicle backs up and hide in the cutout on the right. When it goes by, run to the door and use the Red Card to open it.
Follow the path to the right and then enter the next building.
Ride the elevator down to B3.
Answer the codec when you step off the elevator.
It’ll be time for the next boss fight.
Night Fright will be wearing stealth camo. You won’t be able to see him, but you’ll be able to hear where he is walking.
Every so often, he’ll stop and shoot at you. When you see his bullets, fire your submachine gun at him.
If you just hold down the fire, he’ll keep taking damage. He may try to get away, but the submachine gun should keep him mostly in place.
After the fight, go through the door in the northeast corner of the area as whole.
The next room will have puddles of acid on the ground. If you equip Rations B1, you can walk over them.
Unfortunately, you will not have the required to enter the door after the acid puddles. Try your cards on the door, exit and then re-enter and you’ll receive a call. Answer it and you’ll be told where to find Card 9.
It’s now time to backtrack to where you fought Jungle Evil.
Card 9 is found behind the big stack of crates in the northeast area.
Once you have the card, return to the door in the room with the acid puddles and enter it.
After the cutscene, you’ll be in a boss fight.
He’ll get you in a choke hold. Equip the RC Missiles and control them around so that you can shoot him in the back.
After the fight, it’s going to be time to backtrack yet again. This time, we have to go to the Zanzibar base.
Get back to the conveyor belt outside of where you fought Jungle Evil. Equip your cardboard box and get on.
The truck will take you to the tower with the winding hallways. Use the south door to exit and cross through the desert and jungle once more.
Don’t forget about the mines in the desert.
Once you’ve made it inside, go to the right and then take the door at the bottom right.
In the next room, go right and up the stairs to enter the door.
Take the door on the right to find the Green Card. This will open doors 7, 8 and 9.
Exit the Green Card room.
Go through the door at the top and then head to the right and crawl into the DUST vent.
Follow the path to the elevators. Ride the elevator up to 02.
Exit and then ride the elevator on the right up to 04.
Exit the elevator and go through the door on the left.
Follow the directions below starting at the room with the sensor:
- East into the bottom door,
- South – Avoid the trap and use Night-Vision Goggles.
Once you’re in the dining area, go over to the east side and enter the door. Wait inside until the Brooch changes into a key.
From there, head south and then over into the women’s bathroom and ride the elevator down to B3.
From exiting the elevator, follow the directions below:
- East – Go through the door.
- North all the way to the elevator and ride it to 01.
Exit the elevator and go all the way west until you come to an area with a truck and door to the south.
Enter through the door.
Once inside, head all the way east and then enter the door with the Green Card.
Equip the box and get on the conveyor belt.
Now, head back to the room where you fought Dr. Madnar.
Once you’re back, equip the key and enter the locker.
If you crawl through the hole in the wall, you’ll see a bunch of hamsters running around. If they touch you, you’ll immediately die.
So, equip your B3 Rations, crawl into the hamster room and then crawl out. This will attract the hamsters toward you.
Shoot them as they come out of the hole in the wall.
When you’ve killed them all, crawl into the hole and pick up the Cartridge.
Exit the locker for another cutscene.
After the scene, a trap door will open and you’ll fall into the next area.
The door on your right has grenades.
The door to the south has ammo and rations. Crawl into the vent for another ration.
When you’re ready, go through the door at the top.
First thing to know is that you need to stay away from the front of Metal Gear. It will charge forward and kill you in one hit if it touches you.
Stay to the right or left side. Throw grenades at its legs when you have the chance.
It’ll shoot two missiles at a time at you, but these can be easily avoided by running.
Its other attack is to shoot a gun at you. Again, just keep running up or down the side to avoid those bullets. Stay on the move along the side of the area and you should have no issues with this fight.
After beating Metal Gear, open your inventory and drop everything you have.
Drop all your gear and your weapons.
When that’s done, enter the door on the left.
As soon as the fight begins, just stand in one place and don’t move.
The area is lined with mines.
Gray Fox will run around the area. When he gets near you, punch him and he’ll run away.
Just remain standing there and punch him whenever he gets close. If you can hit him first, he’ll run instead of hitting you.
After the fight, go into the room on the left.
Before you can fight Big Boss, you’re going to have to run around the area collecting Rations and Cards in order to get a weapon.
Always have the ration equipped just in case you step in an acid puddle. That’ll be a one hit kill if you touch them without a ration equipped.
Check the doors in the following order:
- Top Middle Area – Bottom Left Door: Card 6
- Bottom Middle Area – Top Left Door: Card 1
- Top Right Area: Card 2
- Top Left Area: Card 3 is in the vent you can crawl in.
- Bottom Middle Area – Top Right Door: Card 4
- Bottom Right Area: Lighter – There is acid in this room.
- Top Middle Area – Bottom Right Door: Card 5 – There is acid in this room.
- Bottom Left Door: Spray – Step on the acid puddle with B3 Ration equipped.
Once you have the lighter and spray, equip them both.
Take cover behind crates and use your lighter weapon just as Big Boss is about to round the corner you’re hiding behind.
Repeat this until he is dead.
After the fight, head for the door on the north wall.
As you enter the next room, Holly will meet up with you.
Run all the way north. Pick up the ration along the way.
Continue until you come to an elevator. Get in and ride it up to 01.
Exit, pick up the ration and head to the right.
Follow the path north and fight off the enemies until Snake is out of ammo.
After the scene ends, you will have beaten the game.
If you’re looking for the Platinum Trophy, Boss Survival mode is now unlocked.
Go beat that to finish off all of the Trophies/Achievements for Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.
You cannot die during Boss Survival or else you’ll need to start over. Make sure to pick up the Rations and ammo during each fight to have them for the later bosses.
