To head for the Cortondo Gym, take the western exit out of Mesagoza and you’ll enter South Province (Area Two).
As you first enter the area, you’ll see a woman to the right with a table. Speak to her and she will give you a variety of ingredients. You can also speak to her to heal your Pokemon.
Explore the area however you’d like. Catch Pokemon, battle trainers and pick up the items out here. Again, this is a pretty wide, but open area, so feel free to explore it.

You can climb the tower just off of the path to find Electro Ball and a chest form Gimmighoul at the very top.
Stay on the path and follow it to Cortondo.
When you reach the Pokemon Center just outside of Cortondo, you’ll see another Pokemon League rep. Speak to him and he will reward you with Aerial Ace if you’ve beaten more than 5 trainers on your way to Cortondo.
When you reach Cortondo, you can head straight for the Gym.
As you enter it, you’ll meet with Nemona. She’ll explain that each of the Gyms will have a test that you need to pass before you can battle the Gym Leader. She will also give you three Super Potions.
After speaking to her, speak to the man at the front desk. He will register you at the Gym and explain the Olive Roll Gym Test to you.
Gym Test
For this test, you’re going to have to roll a big olive to a goal. Exit the gym and head to the north east corner of town to find the Gym Test
Begin the test push the olive all the way to the goal through the maze.
You can battle trainers inside of the test to open up shortcuts.

- Weak to Fire, Rock, Flying
- Tarountula Lv. 14
- Weak to Fire, Rock, Flying
- Teddiursa Lv. 15

Katy will Terastallize her Teddiursa, but it shouldn’t pose much of a threat as long as you are properly leveled up after having battled the trainers on the way here.
Upon beating Katy, she will give you the badge. Pokemon up to level 25 will obey you now that you have your first badge.
She will also give you TM021 Pounce.
After the battle, you’ll receive a call from Nemona congratulating you on your first badge. With that out of the way, open your map and fly back to Mesagoza.

Great walkthrough, the only part i had a somewhat difficult time with is going vs gym leader Larry in the elite 4. I ended up defeating the majority of the elite 4 only to be defeated by Larry.
