Cascarrafa Badge
If you’ve been following along here, we can begin this step by flying to the Pokemon Center in West Province (Area One) – North.
From the Pokemon Center, follow the path that goes north east. It’s pretty much a straight shot to Cascarrafa, but feel free to explore the area along the way.
Items on the way:
- Great Ball X3
Just before you reach the city, there will be a trainer on the path that we can battle.
- Alfredo the Student
- Magikarp Lv. 16
- Arrokuda Lv. 16
Beat the trainer and enter the city. Heal your Pokemon if needed. Explore the city. There are new shops to check out here.
When you’re ready, head to the Gym by taking the elevator at the center of town. As you approach the Gym, you’ll be interrupted by Kofu running by. You’ll be tasked with returning Kofu’s wallet to him. In order to return it to him, you’ll need to go to Porto Marinada. We will have to cross though the Asado Desert in order to reach Porto Marinada.
Head to the north eastern corner of Cascarrafa and enter the desert.
Pokemon available in the desert:
- Rufflet
- Orthworm
- Cacnea
- Cacturne
- Silicobra
- Psyduck
- Stonjourner
- Scarlet Only

Continue north east and check out the ruins on your right for a Gimmighoul chest. Keep going north east when you’re ready.
Take a left at the ruins and head south west.
You should see the Pokemon Center off in the distance. You’ll also come to another trainer.
- Gregorio the Poke Maniac
- Dratini Lv. 22
Exit the desert and head for the Pokemon Center and the tall Lighthouse off in the distance.
You’ll now be in West Province (Area Two). As you head down the path, you’ll actually run into Kofu. He’ll quickly run off to Porto Marinada.
After that scene, turn around and battle the trainer behind you.

Beat the trainer and heal up at the Pokemon Center. There is a Pokemon League rep here that will give you a reward for beating five trainers in West Province (Area Two).
Leave the Pokemon Center and head for town.
You can climb to the top of the Lighthouse to find a Hyper Beam TM. You can also find Rotom near the Lighthouse at night.
Enter Porto Marinada and head for the center of town to find the market and Kofu.
Approach Kofu and he’ll realize that he forgot his wallet. You’ll go to help, but will be interrupted by a trainer wanting to battle.
Gym Trainer Hugo
- Floatzel Lv. 28
- Weak to Electric, Grass
- Clauncher Lv. 28
- Weak to Electric, Grass
Beat Hugo and Kofu will investigate what is going on.
Kofu will give you money to bid on an item for him. In order to pass the test, you’ll need to win the auction. All you have to do here is choose 15,000 and then 40,000 and you’ll win.
Kofu will return to his Gym. Fly back to Cascarrafa and head for the Gym to challenge Kofu.
When you enter the Gym, Hassel will be there with Rika and you’ll have a brief conversation with them.
Kofu Battle
Kofu
- Veluza Lv. 29
- Weak to Electric, Grass, Ghost, Dark, Bug
- Wugtrio Lv. 29
- Weak to Grass, Electric
- Crabominable Lv. 30
- Weak to Fire, Flying, Psychic, Fairy, Steel, Fighting
Kofu’s Crabominable will Terastallize but it shouldn’t be a problem against a strong Electric type. With the battle over, you’ll now have four Gym badges. You’ll receive TM022 Chilling Water. Pokemon up to level 40 will obey you as well.
Afterwards, you’ll speak to Nemona in the Gym lobby. When that conversation is over, this step will be officially done.

Great walkthrough, the only part i had a somewhat difficult time with is going vs gym leader Larry in the elite 4. I ended up defeating the majority of the elite 4 only to be defeated by Larry.
