Welcome to the walkthrough for Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl! The two latest Pokémon remakes take us back to 2006 to the Sinnoh region.

Let’s Go!

All adventures begin somewhere and this one starts in Twinleaf Town.

When you first start the game you’ll be in your room watching a report about the red Gyarados. You can interact with the items in your room if you like, but head downstairs when you’re ready to proceed. Go downstairs and speak with your mom. She’ll tell you to find your friend.

You can explore Twinleaf if you’d like, but there is nothing of note happening right now. So head to your friend’s house in the upper left side of town. Attempt to go through the door and your friend will come out and speak to you. He will go to leave, but then will go back inside his house. Follow him into his house and up into his room. He’ll speak with you again about going to the lake and will then run out if his. Follow him to the lake.

Exit Twinleaf Town by going north to Route 201 where your friend will be waiting. After speaking with him again, he will be following you now. You have no Pokémon yet, so you are unable to go into the grass to the right. So head left and follow the path to Lake Verity.

At the lake, you will run into Professor Rowan. After speaking with him, he will leave. You’ll then notice the briefcase that he left behind. You’ll automatically interact with it and will then be ambushed by wild Pokémon.

Make your Choice

There will be three Poké Balls to choose from.

The grass type Turtwig, the fire type Chimchar and the water type Piplup.

After you made your choice, battle and defeat the wild Pokémon. Defeat the wild Pokémon and then Dawn or Lucas will return to grab the briefcase. Leave the lake and head back to Twinleaf where you will find Rowan on Route 201. After speaking with them, you automatically be taken back to your house where you will be speaking to your mom. At the end of the conversation she will give you the Running Shoes. You can now use the left stick to run and the D-Pad to walk.

Route 201

Exit your house and head back to Route 201 and begin making your way to Sandgem Town.

Now that you have a Pokémon, you can take the path on the right and walk through the grass.

Pokémon found on Route 201:

Speak to the woman in the grass at the top of the section and she will give you 10 Potions.

You can battle wild Pokémon here to level up your starter, or you can continue on to Sandgem.

Sandgem Town / Route 202

Welcome to Sandgem Town

As you enter Sandgem for the first time, Dawn or Lucas will be there to greet you. They’ll take you to speak with Rowan. The Professor will let you keep the Pokémon you chose earlier and will also give you a Pokédex.

As of this moment in the game, you’ll only have access to the Sinnoh region specific Pokédex. This is only capable of tracking Pokémon found in the Sinnoh region. Your Pokédex will be upgraded to the National Pokédex when you have at least seen every Pokémon in the Sinnoh region.

Leave Rowan’s lab and you will once again be greeted by Dawn or Lucas. They will give you a quick tour of the town and explain the functions of the important locations.

Backtrack

After the assistant’s tour, heal up your Pokémon and buy some items from the Poké Mart if you’d like.

Head back through Route 201 and go to your house in Twinleaf to speak with your mom. Feel free to catch some Pokémon if you bought any Poké Balls from the Poké Mart in Sandgem.

Speak to your mom once your back home. She’ll heal up your Pokémon and will also give you the Guidebook. Your friend’s mom will also come in and have a conversation you. She will give you the Parcel that you will need to give to your friend the next time you see them.

You can now leave Twinleaf and head back to Sandgem.

Route 202

You can exit Sandgem by taking the exit to the north where you will then be on Route 202. You will once again run into either Dawn or Lucas at the beginning of Route 202. They will demonstrate how to catch a Pokémon. They will also give you five Poké Balls.

Pokémon found on Route 202:

Along with the new Pokémon to catch on this route, you’ll also battle your first trainers.

Trainers on Route 202:

After you’re done battling trainers and catching Pokémon, follow the route up and around toward the exit. Before exiting, grab the potion laying on the ground to the left of the exit in the grass.

The exit of Route 202 will take you to Jubilife City.

Jubilife City

Jubilife City

As soon as you enter Jubilife City, you’ll be greeted by either Dawn or Lucas. They will tell you that your friend can be found at the Trainer’s School.

Heal your Pokémon and then go to the Trainer’s School. It is the building across the street from the Poké Center to the left.

Speak to your friend who can be found up at the chalk board. Give him the Parcel and it’ll turn out to be two Town Maps. Your friend will take one and you’ll get the other. Before leaving the Trainer School, you can battle the two people on the right on the blue carpet.

Trainers in the Trainer School:

Speak to Harrison after beating of them and he will give you TM10 which is Work Up.

Exit the school and head north. You’ll soon be stopped by an NPC who turns out to be the creator of the Pokétch. He will offer to give you one if you can find and speak to three clowns around Jubilife City. Each of the clowns will give you a Coupon that you can then return to the creator of Pokétch.

The first clown is found right behind the Poké Center.

The second clown can be found standing in front of the Jubilife TV building.

The third clown can be found standing in front of the Pokétch Company building to the west side of town.

After speaking with the third clown, return to where the Pokétch creator spoke to you. He’s still right next to the Poké Center. Now that you have the Pokétch, you’re able to leave via Route 203, but there is still more to do here in Jubilife.

Quick Claw

Enter the Jubilife Condominiums just above the Poké Mart and speak to the woman sitting on the blue chair next to a Pikachu and Pachirisu. She will give you the Quick Claw.

Old Rod

Go to the west side of town and enter the building that’ll take you to Route 218. Speak to the fisherman and he will give you the Old Rod.

And with that, you are free to move on to Route 203 to the east. Although you may want to heal your Pokémon before leaving.

Route 203 / Oreburgh City

Route 203

As soon as you enter Route 203, you will be challenged to a battle against your friend.

After defeating your friend, you can then continue on in Route 203 catching Pokémon and battling trainers.

Pokémon found on Route 203:

Trainers on Route 203:

Make your way through Route 203 and grab the Poké Ball off the ground in the grass in the first section of the route. You can also pick up a Repel off the ground above the small lake. You can reach this by going up and around the lake.

When you’ve done all there is to do on Route 203, exit to the east.

Oreburgh Gate

As soon as you enter Oreburgh Gate, you will be given a TM 98 (Rock Smash) and the Hidden Moves App by the Hiker at the entrance. You won’t be able to use Rock Smash in the field just yet though. You will need to earn the badge from Oreburgh City before you can use it. So, without that badge, you won’t be able to fully explore Oreburgh Gate just yet.

Pokémon found in Oreburgh Gate:

Trainers in Oreburgh Gate main floor:

When you do get the badge, make sure to come back here and go into the basement. Use Rock Smash to follow the path to the right to pick up TM 70 (Flash).

The rest of the cave will be inaccessible without a Bike though. So come back later with a Bike in order to grab the TM 31 (Brick Break).

Defeat the two trainers and exit the cave.

Oreburgh City

As soon as you enter Oreburgh City, you’ll be approached by an NPC who will take you to the Gym where you will find your friend. Speak to him to find out that the Gym Leader has left to Oreburgh Mine. The mine can be found to the south east side of town.

You can go straight there if you like but for this guide, we’re gonna clean up everything else that there is to do in Oreburgh City first.

Points of Interest

When you have found fossils, you can bring them back here to the Oreburgh Mining Museum. Speak the NPC on the right at the desk and he will extract the Pokémon from whatever fossil you have.

There is a building to the east of town that you can enter. Go in and up to the second floor. Speak with the NPC sitting at the table and he will give you a Great Ball.

Enter the very first building from the entrance to town and go up to the second floor. Speak to the NPC on the left side of the room and she will give you a Dusk Ball.

Enter the building immediately to your right from the building where you received the Dusk Ball. The younger woman on the first floor will offer a trade. She’ll trade you an Abra for a Machop.

Go up to the second floor of the same building and speak to the NPC on the right side of the room. He will ask you to show him a Zubat. You’ll automatically show him the Zubat if you have one in your party. He will then give you a Heal Ball.

With all of that done, let’s head to Oreburgh Mine.

Oreburgh Mine / Oreburgh City Gym

Oreburgh Mine

Pokémon found in Oreburgh Mine:

You can battle trainers in the mine, but you will need to speak with them in order to initiate the battles.

Trainers in Oreburgh Mine

As soon as you enter the mine, go down the stairs, under the conveyer belt on the right and then back up where you can grab an X Defense.

Continue following the path down into the mine. Go right and grab the Potion behind the rock on your left when you come to it.  Shortly after that Potion, you’ll find the Oreburgh City Gym leader Roark wearing the red hardhat. Speak to Roark and then he will leave.

Before leaving, go to the left to find an Escape Rope. Leave the mine and head back to Oreburgh City.

Oreburgh City Gym

Exit the mine and go heal your Pokémon if they need it.

When you’re ready, enter the gym. There are two trainers that you can battle before facing Roark.

Trainers in Oreburgh City Gym:

Time to face Roark!

With Roark defeated, you’ll now be able to use Rock Smash outside of battle. That means you can go back to Oreburgh Gate and fully explore it.

Route 204 / Ravaged Path

Back to Jubilife City

After you’ve wrapped up your business in Oreburgh City, head west to go back to Oreburgh Gate.

As you approach the eastern exit, you will be stopped by your friend once again. When he’s done talking to you, head back into the cave.

You can now use Rock Smash to explore more of Oreburgh Gate, but you won’t be able to fully explore it until you have a bike. So, you can go on through the gate and exit it as you back track to Jubilife City.

Once you’ve made it back to Jubilife City, head north to reach Route 204. You will quickly run into Professor Rowan and team up with him for a double battle against two Team Galactic Grunts.

After the battle and the ensuing conversation, you will also meet Bebe. She will give you Ball Capsules to decorate your Pokémon’s Poké Balls.

Heal your Pokémon if they need it and then continue on up the path to Route 204.

Route 204

Pokémon found in Route 204:

Trainers in Route 204:

Immediately to your right behind a fence is a Paralyze Heal that you can quickly grab. Make your way through the route battling the trainers and catching any Pokémon you want or need. Head north and enter the Ravaged Path.

Ravaged Path

Pokémon found in Ravaged Path:

Immediately to your right is an Antidote that you can grab.

You can take the path in the cave to the left to find a TM 39 (Rock Tomb). That’s all you’ll be able to do here for now as you cannot cross the water just yet.

So, take the path to right and exit the cave to find yourself back on Route 204.

Route 204 Cont.

Trainers in Route 204:

Exit the Ravaged path and head up the stairs to the west. To your right is an Awakening that can be picked up.

Make your way up the path and you can find a TM 09 (Bullet Seed) to the left of the route between two fenced off gardens.

Keep heading north and you will come to Floaroma Town.

Floaroma Town / Valley Windworks / Route 205

Floaroma Town

As soon as you enter Floaroma Town, look to your left to see an older couple standing in the flowers. If you have a save file from other Pokémon games they will reward you with two very rare Pokémon.

The old lady on the right will give you a Mew if you have save data from either Let’s Go Pikachu or Let’s Go Eevee.

The old man on the left will give you Jirachi if you have save data from either Pokémon: Sword or Pokémon: Shield.

From the older couple, go to the right of the Poké Center and enter the house. Speak with the two NPCs to learn about Honey.

Get back on the path and enter the small house to the north. Speak to the girl with the Clefairy and answer “Yes” to her question. She will give you a TM 88 (Pluck).

From the previous house, leave and enter the building to the right. Speak to the woman on the left inside of the building and she will give you a Sprayduck. You’ll be able to water Berries to help them grow. Speaking of Berries, speak to the woman on the bottom right of the building and she will give you a Berry. You can trade any stickers you have with the woman at the register for Berries as well while you’re here.

When you’re done checking out Floaroma, head east to the exit and it’ll take you to Route 205.

Route 205 & Valley Windworks

Pokémon found in Route 205:

Enter Route 205 and pick the Berries above the path you’re on. As you make your way forward you’ll be stopped by a girl who asks you to help her dad at Valley Windworks.

Head to the right to find the entrance to the Valley Windworks along with grass to find wild Pokémon and a Potion on the ground. Approach the building and battle the Team Galactic Grunt.

After the battle, the Grunt will lock himself inside of the building. So turn around and head back to Floaroma Town. When you get there head to the northwest corner to the now unguarded entrance to Floaroma Meadow.

Floaroma Meadow

Upon entering the Meadow, you’ll see two Team Galactic Grunts trying to steal Honey from someone.

You’ll end up battling them both. One right after the other.

After the battles, the Grunts will flee and leave behind the Works Key. The NPC that the Grunts were harassing will also give you a Honey. Honey is used to put on a tree. You can then leave and come back later. If the tree that you put Honey on is moving, that means there is a Pokémon in there that you can try and catch.

Now that you have the key, you can leave the Meadow and return to Valley Windworks to unlock the front door.

Valley Windworks

Unlock the door and enter Valley Windworks. You’ll be greeted by a Grunt who will then run off to alert his boss that you are here. Follow the path left and you’ll come to a battle against another Grunt.

After the first battle, you’ll come to one more Grunt to face.

Make quick work of the two Grunts and you will then meet one of Team Galactic’s Commanders, Mars. Battle and defeat Mars.

Mars will leave after the battle. You’ll then be approached by a scientist who is the dad of the little girl we met earlier on Route 205.

The two will talk about a balloon Pokémon that appears outside of Valley Windworks on a certain day of the week. That day is Friday and the Pokémon is Drifloon. You can return on Fridays to try and catch it.

With that wrapped up, you’re able to return to Route 205 and head north across the bridge.

Route 205 Cont.

Return to Route 205 and take the bridge north. There are no new wild Pokémon to be found on this side of the bridge, but there are some trainers to battle.

Trainers in the northern part of Route 205:

Make your way up Route 205 battling the trainers.

Make sure to grab the X Attack by Hiker Daniel. You can find a Poké Ball by going under the bridge to left next to some water past the two Berry trees. You should notice a small hill to the right of Camper Zackary. There is a small set of stairs that seemingly lead to nothing. Well, there is a hidden Antidote on the middle of the hill that the small stairs lead up to. Walk around the small platform pressing A until you grab it. There is also a Repel just past Hiker Nicholas.

At the top of the path is a house that you can enter. Speak to the woman on the right and she will heal your Pokémon.

Go down the stairs to the right of the house and you can find a Super Potion.

To the north west of the house, there is a path that is blocked by a tree that you can use Cut on, but we don’t have that yet.

Go north from the house and enter Eterna Forest.

Eterna Forest / Eterna City / Eterna Gym

Eterna Forest

Pokémon found in Eterna Forest:

Trainers in Eterna Forest:

As soon as you enter the forest, you’ll be approached by Cheryl. She will be too scared to walk the forest by herself. Cheryl will follow you through the entire forest and battle along side you. She will also heal your Pokémon after each battle.

Cheryl will also battle along side you against wild Pokémon. This means that you will encounter two wild Pokémon per encounter. However, you won’t be able to use any Poké Balls until there is only one wild Pokémon left in the encounter.

When navigating through Eterna Forest, you can find an Antidote to left of the entrance. You can find a Moss Rock in the north west section of the forest. This can be used to evolve Eevee into Leafeon later in the game.

Shortly past the first battle of the forest is a Paralyze Heal on the ground. After the battle against the two Bug Catchers, you can continue going right to find a Potion. Go to the far left side of the area where the exit is to find a Jar of Honey.

Once you reach the exit, Cheryl will leave and you’ll be back to being by yourself.

Exit the forest to once again find yourself on Route 205.

Route 205 Cont.

This is a very short route and there are no new Pokémon to be found here. There are three Fisherman that you can battle, but you will need to speak to them in order to initiate the battles.

Trainers on Route 205:

From the third Fisher, you can go south just a bit to find a Potion. There is also a hidden Jar of Honey in the top right corner of the north east section of the route near the brown honey tree.

Continue east to exit Route 205 and enter Eterna City.

Eterna City

There are a few things you can do here in Eterna City. Head to the Pokémon Center and heal if needed. Speak to a woman with brown hair inside of the Poké Center and she will give you the Friendship Checker. This will be especially useful when trying to evolve a Pokémon that requires high happiness.

When exploring the north end of the city, you’ll be approached by Cynthia. After she is done speaking with you, she will give you TM 93 (Cut). You won’t be able to use Cut outside of battle just yet though. You will first need to earn the Eterna City badge.

Head to the northeast corner to find a big statue of Dialga. You can find a hidden Draco Plate behind the statue.

The Herb Shop can be found up here near the statue as well.

Head to the building next to the Poké Mart. This is the Eterna Condominiums and there are a few things to do in here. First, you can find the Name Rater on the first floor sitting at a table.

The boy sitting at the table across from the Name Rater will offer to trade his Chatot to you for a Buizel. You can then go to the second floor of the building to find an older woman who will give you TM 67 (Recycle).

The Underground House can be found to the right of the Poké Center. Go in and speak with Underground Man to get the Explorer Kit. The Explorer Kit will let you visit the Grand Underground. Underground Man will then give you a tutorial of how to visit the Grand Underground and Roark will explain it to you. Press Y to exit. More Pokémon and Fossils will become available in the Grand Underground later in the game after acquiring the National Pokédex.

When you’re done exploring Eterna City, feel free to head to Eterna Gym.

Eterna Gym

As soon as you enter the Gym, the leader Gardenia will tell you that she won’t battle you until you beat the other trainers in the gym. Each time you beat a trainer, they will give you a hint where the next one is. They are not hard to find and can be seen when near them.

Trainers in the Gym:

After beating all four of the trainers you can then challenge Gardenia.

After defeating Gardenia, you’ll now be able to use Cut outside of battle. She will give you TM 86 (Grass Knot) as well.

Old Chateau / Galactic Eterna HQ / Route 206 / Wayward Cave / Route 207

Old Chateau

Before we continue on to Team Galactic HQ, we can head back to Eterna Forest. Now that you have Cut, you can access the Old Chateau.

You can enter and explore the Old Chateau. Inside you can find a hidden Antidote in a trash can to the north in the Dining Room. There’s an Old Gateau on the first floor in a western room.

There is also a TM 90 (Substitute) in the eastern room on the second floor and a Dread Plate in the western room on the second floor.

In terms of Pokémon, you can catch Ghastly in here.

When you’ve got the National Pokédex, come back at night and interact with the flickering TV to be given the opportunity to catch a Rotom.

Team Galactic HQ

Now that you have the Forest Badge, you can enter the Team Galactic HQ in the northern section of Eterna City. Cut down the trees to the entrance but before going in, go to the right to find another tree that you can cut down. Cut it and go through to find TM 46 (Thief).

Enter Team Galactic HQ.

1st Floor

You can battle following two trainers in a double battle, or speak to one of them and battle them individually.

Trainers in Galactic HQ 1F:

After battling the two Grunts, you can head up stairs to the second floor.

2nd Floor

The second floor battles are optional. All of the Grunts are seated at computers. If you wish to battle them, you will need to speak to them in order to initiate the battles.

The Grunt at the third computer in the first row will battle you. The Grunt at the first computer of the second row will also battle you.

Trainers in Galactic HQ 2F:

3rd Floor

There are two Grunts that you will have to battle here on the third floor.

Trainers in Galactic HQ 3F:

Finish up these battles and heal your Pokémon if needed as we will be battling a Team Galactic Commander on the next floor.

4th Floor

Go up to the 4th floor and get ready to battle Team Galactic Commander Jupiter.

BIKES

After you’ve defeated Jupiter, you can leave the building and go straight to the Cycle Shop below the Pokémon Center.

Speak to the bald man in the Cycle Shop that you just saved from Team Galactic and he will give you the Bike. All you have to do is choose what color you would like.

Now that you have the Bike, you’ll be able to explore more areas that require it.

With the Bike, you’re now able to take the exit to Route 206 to the south of Eterna City.

Route 206

When exiting Eterna City through the south gate, you should notice a scientist in the gate. Speak to him and he will reveal himself to be an assistant of Rowans. He will give you a Rare Candy.

Exit the gate and enter Route 206.

Trainers on Route 206

Continue down the Cycling path until you reach the end where you can exit.

Exit through the gate and go to your right to a tree that you can use Cut on. Cut it down to reveal an area with some new Pokémon to catch, a trainer to battle, some items to grab and the entrance to Wayward Cave.

Pokémon found on Route 206:

If you catch a Bronzor here, be sure to check them for items. They will sometimes be carrying a Metal Coat which you can use to evolve Pokémon or give a boost to any steel types.

You can check out the hidden entrance to Wayward Cave underneath the bridge right now if you’d like, but there is nothing of note there at the moment without having the badge from Canalave Gym.

Wayward Cave

Before entering the cave, you’re going to need to have Flash and Rock Smash. Make sure you picked up Flash from the Oreburgh Gate Basement when passing through earlier. If you missed it, don’t worry. You can take a quick shortcut back to Oreburgh City from the next route, Route 207.

Pokémon found in Wayward Cave:

Trainers found in Wayward Cave:

When you enter the cave, make your way to the northeast corner of the cave to find Mira. Just like with Cheryl in Eterna Forest, she will need your help finding her way out. When battling with her, every battle will be a double battle.

You can even take a path that has no trainers to find her and then battle them all on your way out with her if you’d like.

Clear out the cave of trainers and items and lead Mira out. That’s all there is to do in that section of the cave for now.

Route 207

As soon as you enter the route, you’ll be approached by Dawn or Lucas. Speak with them and then you will receive the Vs Seeker and Dowsing Machine. The Vs Seeker will allow you to battle trainers you’ve already beaten again and the Dowsing Machine will beep when hidden items are nearby.

Now that you have the Bike, you can take the shortcut from here back to Oreburgh City. If you have any Fossils to turn in to the museum from the Underground, now would be a good time to pop over and do that. You can also grab Flash and Brick Break from Oreburgh Gate if you didn’t already.

If you have no other business to attend to in Oreburgh, continue east on Route 207.

Trainers found on Route 207:

There’s not a whole to do on this small route other than defeat the trainers and collect the items on the ground.

When you’re done with the area, head to the east to reach the exit.

Onward to Mt. Coronent.

Mt. Coronent / Route 208 / Hearthome City / Route 209

Mt. Coronent

Without Surf, there’s not a whole lot we can do here during our first visit to Mt. Coronent.

You will run into a mysterious character and have a quick conversation with him before he leaves.

You can spend a few minutes here catching some Pokémon, if you’d like. Head to the east to find the exit.

Pokémon found on Mt. Coronent:

Route 208

Again, there is not much to do on Route 208. Battle your way through the trainers that you can reach and head for the exit to the east.

You won’t be able to battle all of the trainers here just yet as we do not have the required HMs to reach them.

Trainers found on Route 208 (first visit):

Pokémon found on Route 208:

Before leaving Route 208 by going down the stairs to the grass patch, head to the bottom of the screen to the right of the honey tree and speak with the NPC. You can just barely see his head sticking up by the trees. He will give you an Odd Keystone. You’ll be able to take this to Hallowed Tower on Route 209 later in the game.

You can also visit the Berry Master’s House before leaving. He will give you a Berry once a day when you visit him. You can buy some Berries in here as well.

When you’re done here, exit to the east and you’ll find yourself in Hearthome City.

Hearthome City

As soon as you enter Hearthome, you’ll be stopped by a running Buneary. Its trainer will be coming up shortly behind it. Her name is Keira and she will ask you to meet her at Contest Hall. You won’t be able to do much until you meet her there, so go ahead and get that done with.

When you get to the Contest Hall, you’ll meet Fantina. She’s the Hearthome Gym Leader, but you wont be able to challenge her until you have collected two more badges.

Enter the Contest Hall to find Keira speaking with your mom, Johanna. You’ll find out more about the Contests here at the Hall and receive a Tuxedo. You can use the Tuxedo to take place in the Super Contest.

After that, you are free to leave.

Lets explore Hearthome before heading out.

You will likely notice the church like building on the west side of town. You can speak to the NPCs inside, but there is ultimately nothing of note in here.

Fan Club

Enter the building on the right of the Poké Mart and speak with the man behind the table and he will give you the Poffin Case.

You can now go to the building to the left of the Poké Mart and make Poffins out of Berries to feed your Pokémon in order to boost stats for Super Contests.

Hearthome Hotel

The tall building to the right of the Fan Club is the hotel. Go inside and head up to the second floor. Speak with the woman sitting at the table and she will give you a Shell Bell.

Where is Bebe’s Chambers?

Enter the house to the right of the Pokémon Center and speak with Bebe who is sitting at her desk. You’ve met up with her once before, but now the PC Pokémon storage system will be labeled as “Bebe’s PC” after speaking with her here.

Return to Bebe’s house after you’ve received the National Pokédex and she will give you an Eevee.

Amity Square

You can head north from the Pokémon Center to find an entrance to Amity Square. You can take out a “cute” Pokémon and go for a walk with it in here. You can find a TM 43 (Volt Switch), TM 45 (Attract) and a Spooky Plate inside. You can also enter the stone house to left of where you found the Spooky Plate to find a hidden Amulet Coin.

Battle!

When you approach the southern exit that leads to Route 208 and 209, you will be approached by your Friend. His party will be different depending on the Pokémon he chose to start with.

Friend/Rival

Can I Offer You an Egg in This Trying Time?

Head toward the southeast exit to Route 209 and speak with the Hiker. He will give you an egg to carry around and hatch. You will need to have room in your party in order to take the egg with you. This will eventually hatch a Happiny.

Route 209

With all that taken care of in Hearthome City, you’re now free to leave via Route 209 to the southeast of town.

This is another short route, but there are a few things you can pick up while passing through.

 Trainers found on Route 209:

Pokémon found on Route 209:

While making your way through the route, you can speak to the Fisher at the short bottom dock near the entrance and he will give you a Good Rod.

Hallowed Tower

Continue on the path past the docks until the route starts to head north. Before going north, look to the right to see a small stone structure with a hole in the top. This is the Hallowed Tower. Interact with it and place the Odd Keystone in it.

Now that you’ve placed the Odd Keystone, you’ll be able to encounter a Spiritomb here after you’ve interacted with at least 32 players in the Underground. Interacting with the same player will count. Come back here after that and interact with the Hallowed Tower.

Lost Tower & Strength

The Lost Tower is also found on Route 209 just before entering Solaceon Town. This is where Pokémon are buried in the Sinnoh region.

Pokémon found on Lost Tower:

1F

Nothing to do on this floor other than catching wild Pokémon.

2F

You can battle one trainer on this floor as well as pick up the Oval Stone right above him. Giving the Oval Stone to Happiny will evolve it into Chansey when Happiny levels up during the day.

Trainers found in Lost Tower 2F:

3F

There are two trainers to battle here. You can also find Golbat in the wild on this floor as well as a Revive in the bottom left corner.

Trainers found in Lost Tower 3F:

4F

There are four trainers on this floor to battle. You can also find a TM 27 (Low Sweep) as well as a hidden Great Ball to the right of Mike & Nat.

Trainers found in Lost Tower 4F:

5F

You can find two elderly women in the center of the room. The woman on left will give you TM 96 (Strength). The woman on the right will give you a Cleanse Tag.

You won’t be able to use Strength outside of battle until you earn the Mine Badge from Canalave Gym.

And with that, you can now leave and head north to Solaceon Town.

Solaceon Town / Solaceon Ruins / Route 210

Solaceon Town

There are a few notable locations found within the small town that is Solaceon.

Pokémon News Press

You can enter the building to the right of the Pokémon Center and speak to the man next to the desk. He will request a Pokémon from you every day. If you show him the Pokémon that he requests, he will give you Poké Balls. The Pokémon he requests will change daily.

Pokémon Nursery

The building to the northeast of town is the Nursery. You can leave Pokémon here to breed and raise them.

If you leave a Pokémon here, exit and re-enter the house to find a man there now that you can speak with. Speak with him and he will give you the Egg Monitor for your Pokétch. This will tell you if an egg has been laid.

Solaceon Ruins

Trainers found in Solaceon Ruins:

The Solaceon Ruins are where you’ll be able to encounter Unown. You won’t find any NPC trainers that have them, so you will need to come here and at least see one of them to add to your Pokédex if you’re looking to unlock the National Pokédex.

They are found to the east of Solaceon Town by taking the third ledge path.

Every letter Unown can be caught here. If you catch all 26 versions of Unown, you can then enter the Ruin Maniac Cave on Route 214 and you’ll be able to encounter the ‘?’ and ‘!’ versions of Unown on the upper floors.

First, take the stairs on the upper right to find a boy. Speak to him and he’ll go back home. After you catch some Unown, go to his house and show them to him. His house is accessed by going down the second path of ledges to the east of Solaceon Town.

Follow the stairs to small dead end rooms. The Unown are caught in these rooms.

From the entrance, take the upper right stairs and then the lower left stairs to find the trainer.

After facing the trainer, take the stairs in the order below:

  1. Top Right
  2. Top Left
  3. Top Left
  4. Bottom Left

You’ll find a Nugget, a Rare Candy, a Mind Plate and a Jar of Odd Incense.

When you’re done in the Ruins, leave. Make sure to stop by the boy’s house who we found in the Ruins and show him an Unown. He will give you a Ball Capsule for each type of Unown that you show him.

When you’re all done with Solaceon Town, you can exit to the north to Route 210.

There’s nothing else going on in the café, so you can leave.

You’ll likely notice a group of four Pysduck to the left of the café. There’s nothing we can do about that right now, so let’s head to Route 215 to the east.

Enter the house to the right of the previous bald NPC and speak to the woman. She will give one of your Pokémon a massage to increase their happiness. She will massage one of your Pokémon once a day.

Veilstone Gym

The gym is located to the southwestern side of town. As you approach it, you’ll run into Dawn or Lucas. They’ll briefly speak with you before leaving.

There will be a puzzle inside of the gym, you will need to slide the walls over in order to create a path to Maylene.

There are also four trainers that can battle in here.

Trainers found in Veilstone Gym:

Heal your team before solving the wall puzzle.

Now, for the walls. You need to line up the two walls in top middle so that can pass through and reach Maylene. The images below will be numbered to correspond with written directions.

The walls will reset if you exit the gym.

Starting on the right side.

Now, let’s work on the left side.

Maylene Battle

Her first two Pokémon shouldn’t be a problem, but her Lucario will spam Drain Punch which will heal it. So, make sure you’re going into this battle playing the matchups. Her fighting type are weak against Psychic and Flying. A fire type will also be helpful against Lucario as it is also part Steel type.

Upon defeating Maylene, you’ll be given the Cobble Badge, Stickers and TM 60 (Drain Punch).

You can now use Fly outside of battle when you get it as well.

Help Dawn or Lucas

As soon as you exit the gym, you’ll again be approached by Dawn or Lucas. They will ask you for help in finding their stolen Pokédex.

You will need to head to the Team Galactic Warehouse which is to the north of Veilstone City just above the Department Store.

Make sure to heal your team as you’ll be participating in a double battle here.

After you beat the two Grunts, go into the warehouse they were guarding and grab TM 94 (Fly).

With that taken care of, we can now make our way to Pastoria City by way of Route 214 to the south.

Route 214 / Hotel Grand Lake / Route 213 / Pastoria City

Route 214

Trainers found on Route 214:

Pokémon found on Route 214:

Route 214

The route is split into two paths, west and east. Taking the western path will take you to Maniac Tunnel. Follow it all the way down and it’ll eventually take you to a patch of grass that has a Max Potion.

The eastern path will take you through more trainers that you’ll have to battle.

You don’t have to pick one path here, you can do them both.

Maniac Cave / Maniac Tunnel

When you first come through here, this will be called the ‘Maniac Cave‘. It will change to ‘Maniac Tunnel‘ after you’ve captured all 26 kinds of Unown from the Solaceon Ruins. You’ll then be able to catch the ‘?’ and ‘!’ shaped Unown here.

You can find TM 28 (Dig) by entrance and there are a couple of Pokémon that can be caught in here as well.

Other than that, there is nothing else to be done here.

Pokémon located in Maniac Tunnel:

Valor Lakefront

This is a small area outside of Lake Valor, but you cannot enter Lake Valor just yet. There will be two NPCs standing in front of the entrance. We’ll come back later on in the game.

Pokémon found in Valor Lakefront:

Hotel Grand Lake

As you continue south from the Valor Lakefront, you’ll come to Hotel Grand Lake. This area connects the lakefront to Route 213.

You won’t be able to take the eastern exit just let. There is a man that is standing in front and will not let you by.

When you first enter the area, you notice a woman standing by a door. If you speak to her, she’ll tell you she is locked out and needs a key. The key can be found to southern exit that leads to Route 213. It is a hidden item.

The Suite key can be found after going down the last stair case but before going into the Route 213 Gate. It is just over half way from the stairs to the gate.

After you pick it up, take it back to the woman and she will give you a Lava Cookie.

Seven Stars Restaurant

You can also find the Seven Stars Restaurant here. This is the building just to the left of the building that the woman was locked out of. You’ll be able to battle trainers here, but they will randomly change. The battles are available while the restaurant is open from 9a.m. to 11 p.m.

Below the restaurant is building to the left. Enter it and speak to the clown and he will give you a TM 92 (Trick Room).

Exit to Route 213

Route 213

Trainers found on Route 213:

Pokémon found on Route 213:

Dr. Footstep

The lone house on the beach belongs to Dr. Footstep. If you speak to him, he will tell you what the first Pokémon in your party thinks of you. If their happiness is high, he’ll give you a Footprint Ribbon.

When you’re done with this area, take the exit to the northwestern to enter Pastoria City.

Pastoria City

Here in Pastoria there are a number of things you can do including earning your fourth badge.

The first building on the right is the Great Marsh. The Great Marsh is the Sinnoh equivalent to the Safari Zone.

You can also visit the house to the southeast to find the Move Tutor. He can teach your Pokémon moves from their level up move set. This will cost a Heart Scale.

Pastoria City Gym

You can challenge the gym leader, Wake, as soon as you get to town. He uses water type Pokémon, so bring electric and or grass types to make quick work of this gym.

You’ll need to flip several switches in order to reach Wake.

Trainers found in Pastoria Gym:

The order of the switches is below:

Wake

When you defeat Wake, you’ll get the Fen Badge, the ability to use Defog outside of battle, Stickers and TM 55 (Brine).

Great Marsh

Just like with the Safari Zone of Kanto, the Great Marsh will cost 500 and you’ll have 30 Safari Balls to try and catch Pokémon. You’ll also have mud and bait to throw at Pokémon that you’re trying to catch.

You can end your trip by pressing X and R. The timer will run out when you’ve walked 500 steps.

You can go up to the second floor before entering the actual Great Marsh to use the binoculars to see what Pokémon can be found where.

The Great Marsh also has Pokémon that rotate in and out.

As soon as you enter the Great Marsh, go to your right and speak with the NPC with green hair and you’ll be given TM 97 (Defog) which will be added to the Hidden Moves app.

Pokémon found in the Great Marsh:

Rival Battle

Speak to the Galactic Grunt to the right of the Great Marsh. He’ll flee and then as you follow him and then you’ll be stopped by your Rival.

It’ll be time for another battle against him. His party will change depending on who you chose as your starter.

Heal up your team and head take Route 213 to reach Valor Lakefront.

Route 213 / Valor Lakefront / Route 212

Valor Lakefront

Exit to Route 213 and back track to Valor Lakefront. You’ll come across the same Galactic Grunt. He’ll be standing near the water. Speak to him again.

Follow him back to Hotel Grand Lake and speak to him again. Follow and speak to him one more time and now you’ll battle him.

After the battle, head north a few steps to find Cynthia speaking to the two NPCs that are blocking the path to Route 222.

Speak to Cynthia and tell her you saw the group of Psyduck back on Route 210. She’ll give you a Secret Medicine that you can then use on the Psyduck to clear them out.

Choose Your Path

After getting the Secret Medicine, you can do two things here.

You can either go take care of the group Psyduck on Route 210 and advance the story, or you can go clear out Route 212. There are some places to visit on Route 212 and there are a lot of trainers you can battle to train your Pokémon and earn some money.

For the purpose of this guide, we’re gonna go through Route 212 and get that out of the way first.

Route 212

Route 212 can be accessed from the western side of Pastoria City. In addition to all of the trainers, you can also visit the Pokémon Mansion and Trophy Garden.

Trainers available on the bottom portion of Route 212:

Pokémon available on the bottom portion of Route 212:

Pokémon Mansion

You can explore the Mansion and get a Great Ball from the farthest room to left and a Soothe Bell from a maid in the middle room to the west inside of the building.

Enter the first door to the east inside of the building and you can find Mr. Backlot in his office. There is a TM 87 (Swagger) in here as well as a statue that is guarded by security.

Exit the Mansion to the north and you will be in the Trophy Garden.

Trophy Garden

You can enter the Garden by going through the Mansion. There are a few Pokémon out there, most notably Pikachu.

Pokémon available in the Trophy Garden:

Back on Track

After exploring the Mansion, you can now take the northern exit and you’ll end up in Hearthome City. The gym leader is still not back, so let’s get back to Route 210 and take care of that group of Pysducks.

Route 210

You can fly back to Solaceon Town and then head north to reach the Psyduck group.

Interact with the Psyduck and use the Secret Medicine to clear them out.

You’ll then be approached by Cynthia. She will task you with delivering the Old Charm to Celestic Town. When the conversation is over, head north.

In this first section you can battle the Ninja Trio in the tall grass.

Ninja Trio on Route 210:

The Ninja Trio are all found in the very first patch of grass. There is one on the left, middle and top right.

Pokémon found on Route 210:

Foggy

After beating them and moving on to the north, you’re going to come to an area that is covered in fog. You will need to have acquired TM 97 (Defog) from the Great Marsh in order to clear out the fog here.

Follow the route north and then it’ll turn west. Keep going and you’ll reach Celestic Town.

Trainers found in the foggy section of Route 210:

At the end of the this route will be Celestic Town.

Celestic Town

You can get a pair of Black Glasses from the house in the northwest corner by speaking to the NPC on the right side inside of the house.

That same house also has a small market where you can purchase items.

Speak to the Galactic Grunt standing in the center of town and battle him.

After the battle, you’ll be approached by an old woman who is Cynthia’s grandmother. Give her the Old Charm.

Enter the Ruins and interact with the painting in the back.

After that, Cynthia’s grandmother will enter and give you TM 95 (Surf).

When you exit the Ruins, you’ll have a conversation with Cyrus. You’ve run into him once before at Mt. Coronent.

After that, you can explore a little bit of Route 211, but you still can’t get all the way through. You can also get a TM 77 (Psych Up) from the green haired NPC here. So, beat the trainers here if you’d like.

Trainers found on Route 211:

Pokémon found on Route 211:

Fly back to Hearthome City.

Hearthome Gym

With the Old Charm delivered, we are now able to take on Fantina in Hearthome Gym.

This gym specializes in Ghost type Pokémon. Ghosts are weak against Normal and Dark types.

The gym itself will be a multistory building where you will need to answer mathematical questions in order to move on. If you get the answer right, you can go to the next level. If you get it wrong, you will need to face a trainer.

The questions are very simple, but the answers are listed below:

Upon defeating Fantina, you’ll receive the Relic Badge, her Stickers and TM 65 (Shadow Claw).

You can now use Surf outside of battle as well.

After defeating Fantina and leaving her gym, you’ll be approached by Cynthia. She’ll suggest that we travel to Canalave City.

Route 218 / Canaclave City / Iron Island / Canalave Gym

Route 218

Fly to Jubilife City and then head to the west to reach the gate to Route 218.

Make your way across the short route.

Trainers found on Route 218:

Pokémon found on Route 218:

When you reach the gate to Canalave City, you’ll run into Dawn or Lucas’ father. He will upgrade your Pokédex for you.

Canalave City

continue on and enter Canalave City.

Enter the first house here on the left and speak with the woman with green hair. She will give you TM 48 (Skill Swap).

Go to the house above the Poké Mart and you can meet the Move Deleter. He will delete moves that your Pokémon already know.

After that, you will run into your Rival when you attempt to cross the bridge. His party will change depending on what starting Pokémon you chose.

Crossing The Bridge

Beat your rival, heal your party and then cross the bridge to reach the other side of town.

You can find the Canalave Library on this side of town to the north.

The gym is on this side of town as well. You can challenge the gym leader now if you’d like, or you can go to the Iron Island and train a little bit more before taking on the gym leader.

You can find the Canalave Docks just below the gym. If you speak to the Sailor in front of the boat at the dock, he will take you to the Iron Island.

Iron Island

When you reach the Island, go up the stairs and there will be an empty house up here. Continue up the stairs and enter the cave.

As you enter you’ll notice two staircases to the left and right. We’re gonna be clearing out this cave, so go down the stairs on the left now.

B1F

There is a single trainer down here that you can battle. You can also pick up an Iron Ball on the ledge by going up the small staircase.

Pokémon found in B1F:

With the trainer out of the way and the item collected, you can now go back to the entrance and take that other staircase on the right.

You’ll find another lone trainer in this section of the cave as well as a Super Repel and an Escape Rope.

When you’re done, head to the elevator and take it down.

B2F

You’ll once again come to two sets of stairs in here. Take the stairs on the right first.

Trainers found in B2F:

The same Pokémon from the previous floor can be found in the room down the stairs to the right.

Grab the items and beat the trainers. You can then head back to the B2F entrance and take the left set of stairs.

As soon as you enter the room on the left, you’ll run into Riley. He will team up with you for the rest of this room and heal your Pokémon after each battle.

Clear out this room with Riley by picking up the items and beating the trainers.

Trainers found in B2F (left):

The same Pokémon that were found in the previous rooms are found in here with one addition. You can also find Steelix in this room.

When you get to the south end of this room, you’ll see that the elevator is guarded by two Galactic Grunts. Battle and defeat them.

After beating the two Galactic Grunts, Riley will offer you an egg. This will eventually hatch a Riolu.

With that done, take the elevator to the final room. Pick up the Shiny Stone and then exit the cave.

Make your way back down the ledges and you’ll meet up with the Sailor Eldritch who will take you back to Canalave City.

Canalave Gym

Now let’s head to the gym. The Gym in Canalave City specializes in Steel type Pokémon, so you’re going to want to bring Fire and Fighting types to combat them.

Trainers found in Canalave Gym:

You’ll be riding platforms in here to make your way up to the gym leader, Byron.

You’ll be given the Mine Badge, his Stickers and TM 91 (Flash Cannon) when you defeat Byron. All Pokémon up to level 70 will obey you as well.

You’ll also be able to use Strength outside of battle.

Canalave Library

As soon as you step out of the gym, you’ll be approached by your rival. He’ll tell you to go visit Canalave Library.

Head to the Library and go to the top floor. You’ll then meet with your Rival, Dawn or Lucas and Rowan.

Toward the end of the conversation, the whole building will start shaking. Go outside to investigate and the source will be an explosion that came from Lake Valor.

Gible / Lake Valor / Route 216 / Route 217

Wayward Cave – Secret Entrance

Before we continue on to the lake, we’re gonna take a quick detour and go catch a Gible. Gible evolves into a very strong Pokémon and that’ll be helpful as we get closer to the end of the game’s story.

Go to Route 206 and get under Cycling Road. Go to the entrance to Wayward Cave and go west so that you’re under the bridge. The hidden entrance is over on the left side of the bridge. Just keep walking forward until you enter it.

Once inside use Flash. Then, use Strength to push the boulder in front of you out of the way. GO down the stairs and collect all of the items and keep an eye out for a Gible.

Lake Valor

Fly to Pastoria City and head to Lake Valor through Route 213 and Valor Lakefront. The NPCs that were blocking the entrance are now gone.

Fly to Pastoria City and head to Lake Valor through Route 213 and Valor Lakefront. The NPCs that were blocking the entrance are now gone.

Enter the area and work your way through the Galactic Grunts until you get to the middle of the area with an entrance to the cave.

Valor Cavern

Enter the Cavern and battle Commander Saturn.

Saturn will leave after mentioning Commander Mars at Lake Verity. So now we have our next destination.

Lake Verity

Fly home to Twinleaf and heal your Pokémon by speaking to your mom.

Head to Lake Verity by way of Route 201.

As soon as you enter the Lake, you’ll speak to Rowan who will tell you to stop Team Galactic. You’ll then have to battle your way through more Galactic Grunts.

After defeating the two teams of Grunts, you can then interact with Mars who is standing with Dawn or Lucas.

You’ll have to Battle Mars again now.

After beating Mars again, Rowan will speak to you and tell you go check on your Rival up at Lake Acuity.

Mt. Coronent

We are about to head out on a long trip in order to reach Snowpoint City, so make sure to stock up on healing items and Poké Balls.

Fly to Eterna City and then head east to Route 211 to reach Mt. Coronent.

If you haven’t already come through here, you’ll need to battle a trainer just before the entrance to the mountain.

Enter the mountain. Now that you can use Strength, you grab the items in here and make your way completely through the mountain.

Take the stairs to the northeast and follow the path until you reach another staircase that will lead into the basement.

Basement

Pokémon found in the Mt. Coronent Basement:

As soon as you enter the basement, you’ll be shrouded in fog. So boot up the Hidden Moves app and use Defog. Catch whatever Pokémon you may need and collect all the items.

It is possible to catch a Feebas in here, but it is difficult to find them. Feebas will only appear in specific spots of the water. There is no way of telling which spot is correct. Making things even more difficult is the fact that these spots are randomly changed daily.

When you’re done in here, make your way up the stairs to the north.

Follow the short path to the exit.

Route 216

You’ll immediately notice that is snowing up here. So, you can take a guess as to what type of Pokémon you’ll be able to find here.

Trainers found on Route 216:

Pokémon found on Route 216:

You can take the high or low path here. They both end up in the same place.

There is a house where the route turn to head north. This is the Snowbound Lodge and you can rest on a bed in here to heal your party if needed.

When the route goes north, it turns into Route 217.

Route 217

As you enter Route 217, you’ll notice that the snowfall is thicker and heavier here. This will make advancing through some of the route little slow.

Trainers found Route 217:

Pokémon found on Route 217:

As you trudge your way through the snow, there is a house on the left side of the route. Go inside and the Hiker will tell you that he dropped Rock Climb. This is important as it is another HM that you need to fully explore certain areas of Sinnoh.

Rock Climb can be found outside of the house just above it. Go pick it up and then speak to the Hiker again. He’ll tell you to keep it and will give you an Icicle Plate for being honest.

There is a second house on this route further to the north on the right. Speak to the woman inside and she will give you a Spell Tag. If you come back into this house after leaving with the tag, the woman will be gone. Spooky.

To the north of the Spell Tag house is an Ice Rock in the grass. Eevee will evolve into Glaceon here if it levels up while on Route 217.

From here, make your way back down a bit and go left. The path to reach Acuity Lakefront is to the northwest.

Acuity Lakefront

There will be two Galactic Grunts that are blocking the entrance to Lake Acuity. So just head east for now. Grab the Ultra Ball in the northeast corner and then take the exit to the southeast.

You’ll finally have made it to Snowpoint City.

Snowpoint City / Lake Acuity / Galactic HQ

Snowpoint City

There are a few things to do here in Snowpoint. You can challenge the gym leader right away and pick up a few items around town.

There is a temple to the north of town, but there’s nothing we can do there until we have the National Pokédex.

You can visit the house to the northwest and speak with a woman who will trade you a Haunter for a Medicham.

There is a boat to the south that will take you to the Battle Zone, but this cannot be done until you have beaten the Pokémon League.

Snowpoint Gym

This gym specializes in Ice type Pokémon. Be sure to bring Fire, Fighting and water types to attack their weakness.

You’ll be sliding around on ice in this gym trying to make your way to the leader. There will be big snowballs that you can destroy by sliding fast enough. You’ll need to destroy the snowballs in the middle to clear a path to the gym leader.

If you exit the gym, the snowballs you destroyed will respawn.

Trainers found in Snowpoint Gym:

You will receive the Icicle Badge, her Stickers and TM 72 (Avalanche) for beating Candice.

You will also now be able to use Rock Climb outside of battle.

Lake Acuity

Heal up your party and head back to the entrance of Lake Acuity. The two Galactic Grunts will no longer be blocking the entrance.

As soon as you enter the lake, you’ll see your Rival speaking with Commander Jupiter. She will go to leave and then intelligently tell you exactly where she doesn’t want you to go to stop them. So naturally, go there.

Veilstone Galactic HQ

Fly to Veilstone City from Lake Acuity.

Go to the northeast corner of the city outside for the Galactic HQ and speak to the Galactic Grunt outside by the satellite dish.

He will say he doesn’t know anything about the Storage Key and then walks away. He will drop the Storage Key right where he was standing. This is a very tightly run organization here.

Anyway, pick up the key and go to the northwest section of the city to the Galactic Warehouse behind the Department Store.

Use the Storage Key on the door inside the warehouse and go down the stairs.

Once inside, take the path to the east and battle the grunts along the way.

Trainers found in Galactic Warehouse:

Go up the stairs at the end of the hallway.

Go up another flight of stairs and you’ll then need to use teleporting tiles to make your way through this portion of the warehouse. You’ll also be fighting Grunts along the way.

Take the the teleporter on the left of the first set you come across behind the Grunt. Take the bottom one in the next room and then go up the stairs. Take the teleporter behind the staircase you just came out of. Go down the stairs in the next room and battle Scientist Frederick. Go down the stairs and follow the path around to find the Galactic Key behind the big crates.

Now that you have the key, you can go explore the rest of this building to battle the rest of the Grunts. It’s not a very big place, so it wont take that long.

When you’re ready to go, exit the warehouse and go to Galactic HQ.

Trainers in this section of the Galactic Warehouse:

Galactic HQ

Leave the warehouse and go to the northeast corner to the Galactic HQ. This is back where we picked up the Storage Key earlier.

Go inside and use the Galactic Key on the locked door.

Take the teleporter in the southwest corner to get an item. Go back and take the teleporter in the room with the TV and Scientist Darrius.

you can heal your party in here by sleeping on one of beds behind the stairs. Go up the stairs and beat the two grunts. You’ll then come to three teleporters.

The teleporter on the right is a dead end, the one in the middle will take you to a room that has an Elixir and the one on the left is the story path.

Go up the stairs to find a door that can be unlocked with the Galactic Key.

Trainers found in Galactic HQ:

Before going through the door, make sure your party is healed up and ready to battle. We will be battling the Galactic Leader Cyrus in here.

You will be given the Master Ball for beating Cyrus. He’ll talk to you for a second then will leave. Interact with the floor in front of the machine in the top left corner to find a hidden Nugget.

After you defeat Cyrus, make sure your party is healed. Use your items or go rest at that bed again.

When you’re ready, go to the right side of the room where you battled Cyrus and use the teleporter to go to a hallway. Follow it to the right to a lab where you will find Commander Saturn Speak to him and battle him.

After you beat Saturn, press the button on console to set the trapped Pokémon free. Exit the room and take the teleporter back to where you fought Cyrus. Go down to find a green teleporter. Take it and you’ll end up at the exit of the Galactic HQ.

Mt. Coronent / Finishing off Team Galactic / Dialga & Palkia

Mt. Coronent

Next stop is Mt. Coronent to chase down Team Galactic. Make sure you’re stocked up on healing items and Poké Balls before heading out.

Fly to Oreburgh City and exit north, Use your bike to ride up to the ledge. Go east on Route 207 to find the southern entrance to Mt. Coronent.

2F-3F

When you enter the mountain, Surf across the water that is right in front of you. Follow the path to the side of the ledge that you can climb up by using Rock Climb. Go up the stairs and follow the path around to an exit at the northwest corner of the cave. Don’t take the exit to the south or you’ll end up outside.

Go up the stairs and up to the next floor where you’ll come across a Galactic Grunt. Beat the two Grunts and take the exit that’ll lead you outside.

Trainers found in 3F Mt. Coronent:

Pokémon found on the second and third floors of Mt. Coronent (south):

4F

Now that you’re outside, follow the path until you reach a dead end that you can climb using Rock Climb. You can Rock Climb again to find a hidden Nugget to the right. If you went up twice, climb back down. You can enter the entrance on your right to find some items, but without Waterfall, you won’t be able to progress through here.

Pokémon found on the outside of Mt. Coronent:

So from the Rock Climb area outside, follow the path west until you come to another entrance. Go inside. You’ll be on the other side of the previously mentioned waterfall on the fourth floor.

Go in and Rock Climb up the ledge. There will be some more Grunts for you to beat up here.

Follow the path to the exit to the east and you will be outside again.

Pokémon found on the fourth floor of Mt. Coronent:

Outside Again

Go down the stairs to your left and enter the cave door. This isn’t the story path, but there are Grunts to battle in here.

Pick up the items and beat the Grunts. Go back outside.

Rock climb up the short path to find a hidden Rare Candy and then go back down. Take the other Rock Climb path up.

Take the path west until you find a cave entrance.

5F

This is just a quick hallway with a staircase at the east side. Take the stairs.

6F -7F

Follow the short paths and beat the Grunts

Spear Pillar

Exit the cave from 7F to reach the summit called the Spear Pillar.

Beat the two Grunts just ahead of you.

After beating the two Grunts, don’t go forward just yet. Make sure to heal your party and that you have plenty of Poké Balls. Specifically Ultra Balls and Dusk Balls.

One Last Battle

When you step forward, you’ll be in a double battle with your Rival vs. Jupiter and Mars.

After you beat them, you’ll then battle Cyrus again. Your Rival will heal your party after the battle.

After you beat Cyrus, he’ll leave and then you will be approached by Dawn or Lucas and Rowan. They’ll tell you to face either Dialga or Palkia depending on your version.

Catching Dialga or Palkia

Before you approach it, heal your party and save your game. Just in case you run out of balls or accidentally knock it out, you can quit out of your game and try again.

For both of these, you’re going to want to inflict a status effect. Paralyzing, freezing or putting them to sleep will help you out here. You don’t want to burn or poison them as that will inflict damage and could knock them out.

Battle them until their health is very low. After that, just start throwing balls at them until you’ve caught it. You don’t need to use the Master Ball here. Ultra Balls will get the job done.

Once you’ve caught it, congratulations! You’re now the proud new owner of a creature that can bend space and time as well as create universes. Use it responsibly!

Before leaving, go forward where Dialga or Palkia were and pick up the item.

You can now leave. You won’t be able to Fly from here, but you can use an Escape Rope or back track just a little bit to cave where we fought three grunts.

Celestic Town

Fly to Celestic Town and enter the big house to the north of town. Speak to Cynthia’s grandmother and she will show you a picture of the opposite Pokémon that you just caught. So, if you caught Palkia, she will show you Dialga. This will mark it as ‘seen’ in your Pokédex.

Route 222 / Sunyshore City / Vista Lighthouse / Sunyshore Gym

Route 222

We can go after the final badge.

In order to reach Sunyshore City, we will need to travel through Route 222. This route can be accessed on the east side of Hotel Grand Lake.

Fly to Pastoria City and go east to Hotel Grand Lake.

Once you reach it, head east battling all the trainers. Its a pretty straight forward route.

Trainers found on Route 222:

Pokémon found on Route 222:

There are two houses on this route. The one on the left is a Pikachu Fan Club were you can battle Poké Kid Janet. The house on the right is home to an NPC who will give you a reward if you catch a big Remoraid and show him.

Exit to the east to reach Sunyshore City.

Sunyshore City

As soon as you enter the city, you’ll be introduced to Flint. He’ll reveal himself to be a member of the Elite Four. He will also tell you that the gym leader is at the Vista Lighthouse.

Jasmine, a gym leader from the Johto region can be found on the north beach. She will give you Waterfall after earning the final badge.

You can find Julia’s House in the northeast corner of the city. She will give you a Ribbon for your Pokémon if you listen to her stories.

There is a scientist in a house to the south east just behind the lighthouse that will give you Pokétch apps in exchange for showing him Pokémon with a certain nature that he asks for.  You will need to use Rock Climb to reach his house.

Vista Lighthouse

Go to the southeast corner of the city to find the lighthouse. Enter it and speak to Volkner. He’ll be the one standing at the binoculars. After the conversation he will return to his gym.

Return to the gym and speak to Flint. He will move and you can now enter the gym.

Sunyshore Gym

The Sunyshore gym will specialize in electric types. So, you’re best bet would be to bring ground types as they are immune to electricity. You can also gain an advantage by using grass types here.

Trainers found in Sunyshore Gym:

You’ll be stepping on panels that rotate gears to create walkways in this gym.

Volkner

You’ll receive the eighth and final badge, the Beacon Badge for defeating Volkner. You will also receive his Stickers and TM 57 (Charge Beam).

You can now use Waterfall outside of battle as well.

Now head to the north beach of Sunyshore and speak to Jasmine. She will give you TM 99 (Waterfall).

Catching the Lake Guardians / Clean Up

Azelf

Before going after Azelf, make sure to stock up on Ultra and Dusk Balls.

When you’re ready to go, head to Lake Valor.

As soon as you enter you’ll notice that the lake has been restored. So Surf to the middle and enter the cave.

Save your game just in case you accidentally knock out Azelf.

You’re going to want to use the same strategy that you used against Dialga or Palkia. Use a status effect attack and drain the health until it is in the red and then spam Ultra and Dusk Balls.

Uxie

Before going after Uxie, make sure to stock up on Ultra and Dusk Balls.

When you’re ready to go, head to Lake Acuity and Surf to the cave in the middle.

Utilize the same strategy as above with Azelf. Use a status effect attack and drain the health until it is in the red and then spam Ultra and Dusk Balls.

Mespirt

Catching Mesprit will be a little different than the other two.

Travel to Lake Verity and Surf to the cave in the middle of the lake. When you interact with Mesprit it’ll take off. It’ll bounce around the map and you will need to be in the same area as it is in order to catch it.

First, head to Jubilife City and go to the Pokétch building on west side of the city to get the Marking Map app. Speak to the President on the first floor by the desk. He’ll give you the Marking Map. He’ll also give you other apps if you keep talking to him.

Press R twice and then cycle through your apps until you see a map with a blinking face. The blinking face is where Mesprit currently is.

When you travel to a new location, Mesprit will also change locations. So, you can’t just Fly to where it is.

Fear not! There is an easy way to track down Mesprit.

First, stock up on Repels and whatever Poké Balls you may need.

Go to Route 205 and head toward to Valley Windworks. When you change locations, you’ll see the location in the top left corner of the screen. Each time you see that notification in the top left corner, Mesprit will change locations. So you can manipulate this a bit.

Walk east on Route 205 until you see that you’ve entered Valley Windworks. Check your Marking Map app to see where Mesprit is. All you have to do here is go back and forth across the boundary of Route 205 and Valley Windworks while checking Mesprit’s location. You can actually keep the app open in the top right corner of the screen while you do this. When you see that Mesprit is in the same place as you, use a Repel and save your game. You will also need to have a Pokémon under level 50 first in your party.

When you attack it, it will flee and you’ll have to track it down again. Whatever damage or status effect you inflict, will still be there when you encounter it again. Just make sure to save your game before the encounter. You don’t want to knock it out.

You can also use the attack Mean Look to prevent it from escaping and then battle it like normal. Just about any Golbat that you catch will know Mean Look.

You could use the Master Ball if you want, but there is going to be another roaming Pokémon later. The choice is yours!

Clean Up

It’s now time to head toward the Pokémon League. You can go straight there, or you can go back and clean up some areas we’ve already been to. There were some areas that required HMs, but we have all of them now.

There’s not a whole lot to do in these places, but they’ll be listed here if you’d like to go.

First, let’s head back to Oreburgh Gate.

Get into the basement and clear out the area of items and battle the lone trainer. There is an Earth Plate and a TM 01 (Focus Punch).

Route 204

Fly to Jubilife City and head north to Route 204. Use Surf on the top right lake to find a small opening in the trees. There is an HP Up over here.

Ravaged Path

Continue north on Route 204 to enter Ravaged Path. Take the left path inside. Use Rock Smash and Surf. Stop surfing at the first piece of land you see in the top left corner. Use Rock Smash and work your around the area until you see a Poké Ball. This is a jar of Luck Incense.

Get back in the water and Surf east. Follow the surfing path until you see another Poké Ball. This one is TM 03 (Water Pulse).

Route 208

Head to Route 208 and you can Rock Climb up to battle Hiker Alexander.

You can Rock Climb back down and then Surf to find Fisher Cody.

You can also find a Carbos by going up the waterfall.

Route 210

In the foggy area of Route 210, there is a pit you can climb down into and then back out of to a house. You’ll also battle against Dragon Tamer Patrick.

Go into the house and meet Grandma Wilma. She will teach your Pokémon Draco Meter.

There is also a hidden Nugget on the left side of the ledge in the pit that you can reach by going down the stairs into it.

Route 213

You can use Rock Climb up to a patch a grass where you can find TM 05 (Roar).

You can also Surf south and battle a few trainers. A Water Stone can be found down here as well.

Route 214

You can Surf across the small pond to the north of the route to find a Rare Candy.

Route 216

You can return to Route 216 and use Rock Climb to be able to reach TM 13 (Ice Beam).

There are also more trainers to fight up here.

Fuego Ironworks

Fly to Floaroma Town and then head east to Route 205.

At the bridge, Surf west and follow the path until you reach Fuego Ironworks.

There are some trainers to battle in here and a few items to pick up. There are actually two Fire Stones. One found in a Poké Ball on the ground and the other is given to you by Fuego who is standing next to the furnace.

Pokémon found at Fuego Ironworks:

Route 219

Fly to Sandgem Town and then go south. You can Surf from the beach to find two trainers.

Route 220

Continue south on Route 219 and you’ll come to Route 220. There are a few trainers down here that you can battle.

Trainers found Route 220:

Route 221

Continue surfing east on Route 220 and you’ll come to Route 221. This route will take you to Ramanas Park. However it will not be ready until you have the National Pokédex. You will be able to fly here when ready after visiting it for the first time.

There is also a house here with a man who will randomly pick a number and ask you to show him a Pokémon of the same level. He will give you rewards for showing him the Pokémon.

Follow the path across the bridges and then Rock Slide down. Head west to the staircase that leads up to the next floor.

2F

Use Rock Smash on the rock right in front of you and then use Strength to push the boulder left. Push the next boulder near the bike ramp to the right. Use your bike to jump over the two rocks.

Smash the next rock in front of the ramp. You can shift the bike to the lower gear so that you won’t jump far off of this ramp. You’ll land between the ramp and the rock. You can get the Max Ether in the corner and then jump back over the ledge. Switch gears so that you’ll jump further this time. Jump over the rocks.

Now, smash the rock that is blocking the path that takes you south. Move the boulder on the right down. Move the boulder on the left to the left and move the remaining boulder down.

Push the boulder on the left down. Go around the rock and then smash the rock. Push the boulder back up to its original position and then continue down the path to the next Ace Trainer.

Push the top boulder over to the right and then battle the Veteran. After the battle, take the exit behind him and then come back in to reset the boulders. Now, push that top boulder down to clear the path to the east.

Push the bottom boulder all the way to the east. Go around to the top, push the top boulder to the left and smash the rock. Then push the middle boulder down to open the path.

Pick up the Full Restore by using the bike and battle the trainers. Use the bike to reach the TM 71 (Stone Edge).

Now, backtrack to the exit where we exited and re-entered the floor behind the Veteran.

1F Part 2

Enter 1F again and go straight across the bridge. Rock Climb down, but be careful not to jump over the ledge. Follow the path up around to fight Black Belt Miles.

Win the battle and then go down the stairs.

BF1

Follow the path down the stairs and Surf to the plot of land where the Psychic is and battle her.

Surf around the Psychic. Surf south on the right lake. Go up the two stairs to battle Double Team Pat & Jo.

If you Surf at this southern pond next to the Double Team, you can head west to go up some stairs and grab a Rare Candy and a hidden Max Revive against the rock.

Go back down the stairs and make your way north to find the waterfall. There is one more trainer on this side to battle.

Surf back down and if you take the path to the right, you’ll battle Ace Trainer Henry.

Go up the waterfall. Follow the path to the next waterfall and go down to pick up TM 59 (Dragon Pulse).

Go back up the waterfall and battle the Dragon Tamer.

Follow the path around and go up the stairs.

1F Part 3

If you follow the path west and then south, you’ll find a Razor Claw.

Go back and battle the Veteran.

If you go up the stairs behind the Veteran and follow the path around, you’ll eventually come to a door way that is blocked by an NPC. He won’t move until you have the National Pokédex. You can grab a Zinc up here though.

So, go down the path south in front of Veteran Edgar. If you take the path west, you’ll come a stair case that will up to a room with three boulders and TM 79 (Dark Pulse).

Push the top and bottom boulders to the left and then push the middle boulder down or up to grab the item.

Return to where you turned west down the path from Veteran Edgar, but this time go east and Rock Climb up.

Battle the Dragon Tamer.

Follow the path north and exit the cave.

Pokémon League

Enter the Pokémon League and heal your party. When you approach the Ace Trainer standing in the doorway, your rival will show up and engage in a battle with you.

His team will be different based on what starter you chose.

After beating your Rival, heal your party again.

Before heading into the Elite Four, make sure you are stocked up on the following items:

If your Pokémon are below level 55, you should train them more before attempting the Elite Four.

If you lose at any battle here, you’ll need to start over from the first trainer here.

Aaron

Aaron will be using Bug types. So, you’re going to want to use Flying, Rock and Fire type attacks here.

Bertha

Bertha’s team is made up of Ground type Pokémon. Grass and Water are a good counter here. Her Quagsire can be a real pain to take out. Between her Full Restores and its Recover ability, this one can be frustrating. A Grass type will really help you out here against it.

Flint

Flint is up next and he kinda has a mixed bag of a team. You’re going to need a few types to counter his team. Go with Water, Dark, Electric, Ghost and Fire type abilities.

Lucian

Lucian is the fourth member of the Pokémon League and his whole team are Psychic types. Dark, Ghost and Flying type moves are the best counter for his team.

After defeating Lucian, do not go forward yet. Heal up and revive your team before going forward. The battle against Cynthia will start when you enter her room.

Cynthia

It’s time to go up against the Pokémon League Champion. The Champion is Cynthia. We’ve had a few run-ins with her during the game and now it’s time for one more.

She has a very strong and diverse line up of Pokémon.

Clean Up / Legendary Pokémon

Post Game

Congratulations, you’ve defeated the Pokémon League have become the Champion of the Sinnoh region!

The game will autosave, take you through a cutscene and then the credits will play. The game will then restart.

When you continue from the main menu, you’ll be at home in Twinleaf.

Despite seeing the credits, we aren’t done just yet!

Twinleaf

Speak to your mom and she’ll tell you that your rival has gone off to the Battle Zone. You can reach the Battle Zone by taking a boat from Snowpoint City.

If you’ve followed this guide and battled all of the trainers and done a few extras, you should have completed your Pokédex by having all 150 Pokémon marked as ‘Seen.’

If you have all 150 seen, head to Sandgem.

Sandgem

As soon as you enter Sandgem, you’ll see Dawn or Lucas outside. Speak to them.

They’ll check your Pokédex and then tell you to visit Rowan in the lab.

Enter the lab and speak to Rowan. The OG Professor Oak will show up and upgrade your Pokédex to National Mode.

Rowan will also give you the Poké Radar. You can use it to reveal what patch of grass has a Pokémon in it.

As soon as you exit the lab, Roark will appear and tell you that him and the other Gym Leaders would like to battle you again. So, you can go to each city and battle the leaders in their respective gyms again.

You can visit Dawn or Lucas‘ house here in Sandgem and speak to their sibling. They will tell you about Pokémon Swarms. These are waves of Pokémon from other regions that are appearing in Sinnoh.

When you pause the game with X, you’ll see a message on the bottom of the screen telling where you swarm have appeared. The swarms will change daily.

Hotel Grand Lake

Travel to Hotel Grand Lake by way of Route 214. Go inside of the house to the northwest. Speak to the NPCs and you’ll be given DS Sounds, Catching Charm and the Pokédex completion Certificate for having seen all 150 in Sinnoh.

Ramanas Park

We’ve come here once before, but it was closed then. Routes 219, 220 and 221 will lead you here.

Now that you’re the Champion and have the National Pokédex, you’ll have access to Ramanas Park. You can explore this park to catch Pokémon from all other regions.

When you enter the park, you’ll notice that there are caves you can enter with “enigmatic pedestals” in them. You can put Slates on these pedestals to encounter Legendary Pokémon.

You can get the Slates by trading Mysterious Shards in to the counter at Ramanas Park.

You’ll be able to start off with a Discovery Slate. As you catch more Legendary Pokémon here, more Slates will become available for purchase.

Mysterious Shards can be found by digging them up in the Grand Underground.

Use the same tactics you used before when catching the Lake Guardians and Dialga/Palkia here.

Hearthome City

Fly to Hearthome City and enter Bebe’s house directly right from the Pokémon Center. Speak to her and she’ll give you an Eevee.

Eterna City

Fly to Eterna City and go to the house in the southwest corner of town. You’ll find Oak inside. Speak to him and he will give you an Upgrade which can be given to Porygon to evolve it if it is traded.

Old Chateau

Return to Eterna Forest at night and head to the Old Chateau. You’ll find Gardenia outside. She’ll talk about the rumors of a Pokémon on the mansion. Go inside and interact with the flashing TV to encounter Rotom. Make sure to make save before doing so.

Pokémon Mansion

Head back to the Mansion on Route 212. Speak to Mr. Backlot. Answer ‘Yes’ to all of his questions and then Pokémon from other regions will become available to catch in the Trophy Garden.

Cresselia

Fly to Canalave City and go to Sailor Eldritch’s house to the southwest of town.

Go inside and try to speak to his son while he sleeps. His mom will explain that they fear their son is under the control of Darkrai.

Speak to Sailor Eldritch on the dock and he will ask you to help them by obtaining the Lunar Feather. The feather is found on the aptly named Fullmoon Island. Agree to help him and he will take you there.

Follow the path to Cresselia and then interact with it. It will teleport away leaving behind the Lunar Feather. Pick it up and return to Eldritch’s son to free him from the nightmares.

As for Cresselia, it will now be roaming the Sinnoh region just like Mesprit was. You can use the exact same strategy to catch Cresselia as you did with Mesprit.

If you don’t want to do that all over again, you can use your Master Ball on it if you’d like. Remember, you only get one Master Ball. The remaining legendary Pokémon can be caught with other Balls, but the Master Ball is also good for a random shiny encounter. The choice is yours!

Giratina

Fly to Veilstone City and head south to Route 214. Keep going south on 214 until you see the opening on the right side. This is Spring Path.

Follow Spring Path until you come to Sendoff Spring. The wild Pokémon in here will be very strong.

Walk through the grass patch and use Rock Climb to climb up.

Follow the path to the right until you see another Rock Climb location at the north side. Rock Climb down and enter Turnback Cave. Use Defog when you enter.

You’ll be going through randomized rooms in here. In order to reach Giratina, you need to pass through three rooms that have pillars before going through 30 total rooms.

Interact with the pillar in the middle of the room when you come to one.

After you found three, whatever door you choose next will take you to Giratina.

Heal your party if needed and save your game before initiating the encounter.

Regigigas

Before you can catch Regigigas, you will need to have caught all three of the Regis in Ramanas Park. You will also need to have them all in your party.

Fly to Snowpoint City and head north to the temple. Speak to the NPC and she will say you aren’t allowed in. Candice will then appear, put in the good word for you and you’ll be allowed in.

Once you have all three with you, enter the temple and then solve the puzzle.

Save your game before approaching the Regigigas statue and waking it up.

Battle Zone / Route 225 – 226 – 227

Battle Zone

Speak to the Sailor in Snowpoint City at the dock and he will take you to the Battle Zone.

As soon as you get off the boat, you’ll be speaking to your Rival. You will also be introduced to Buck here.

After the conversation, go north a few steps to see a Fisher standing near the gate. Speak to him and he will give you the Super Rod.

If you exit to the northeast, you’ll find the Battle Tower.

Battle Tower

The Battle Tower is located to the northeast of town and the attendants will explain everything to you as soon as you enter.

The attendants will also give you a Point Card. The Point Card will keep track of the Battle Points that you earn in the Battle Tower. You’ll earn more Battle Points by hitting certain performance targets while battling in the Battle Tower. You can then exchange these points for items.

While in the tower, you need to win as many battles as you can in a row. You will not gain experience and any Pokémon you see will not be added to your Pokédex.

The target goal is to win 100 battles in a row. You’ll be battling in waves of seven.

When you go to enter for the first time, you’ll be introduced to Tower Tycoon Palmer. You’ll also have another conversation with your Rival.

Note for later – Every Saturday and Sunday, your Rival will be waiting for you to battle near the entrance to the Battle Park.

Route 225

While back in the town section of Fight Area, take the exit to the northwest side of town. This is where the Fisher with the Super Rod was.

Trainers found on Route 225:

At the north end of the route you can find the Survival Area.

Survival Area

Here, there is a house with a man that will tell you about Stark Mountain. There is also a house where you can get TM 42 (Facade) by speaking to the Black Belt inside.

You can also find a Pokémon Center and Poké Mart.

Make sure you’re stocked up on healing items and Balls and then head east to find Route 226.

Route 226

Route 226 will take you east across land and water. The Pokémon found in the grass here are the same as the ones found on Route 225, but there are some new ones to catch in the water.

Trainers found on Route 226:

The end of this route will bring us to two different paths. If you go east through the gate, you’ll find Route 228. If you head north, you’ll reach Route 227.

Route 227

Continue heading north on Route 227 until you reach Stark Mountain. You’ll need your bike to cross through a section of the route. You’ll also run into Wake, your Rival and Buck on this route.

There is house on this route that you can rest in to heal your party as well.

Trainers Found on Route 227:

Pokémon found on Route 227:

Stark Mountain / Heatran / Routes 228 – 229 – 230

Stark Mountain

As you travel north on Route 227, you’ll eventually come to a long staircase that will take you up to the entrance of Stark Mountain.

There is one trainer to battle outside of the Mountain entrance.

Trainer found outside of Stark Mountain:

1st Room

The first room of Stark Mountain is pretty straight forward. Push the boulders out of your way and make your way through the linear cave.

Pokémon found in this first room:

2nd Room

Near the entrance, you’ll run into Buck again. He will team up with you for this part of the Mountain.

You wont be able to fully explore this room while you’re team up with Buck.

The path to get through is below:

You can now continue into the next room or go back, battle all of the trainers in here and pick up the items.

Trainers found in the second room of Stark Mountain:

3rd Room

Enter the the door way to find Buck standing in a formation of rocks. Buck will take the Magma Stone and then an earthquake will happen.

Buck will then leave. Exit the third room and then use an Escape Rope, Dig or back track to exit the cave.

Once you’re out, Fly back to the Survival Area.

Survival Area

Return to the Survival Area and go into the house on the west side of town. It is to the left of the Pokémon Center on the other side of the trees.

It might not look like it, but you can pass through the trees that separate the house and Pokémon Center. You do not have to go all the way back around through Route 225.

Speak to Buck’s grandpa and Buck. After speaking to them both, Buck will leave to go return the Magma Stone.

We are going to have to return to Stark Mountain, but make sure you’re loaded up with Dusk and Ultra Balls. We are going to be catching Heatran now.

Stark Mountain

Return to Stark Mountain by taking Routes 226 and 227. We unfortunately cannot fly back. Just go the same way you did earlier.

When you reach the mountain, go back through to the same room where Buck took the Magma Stone from. This time though, Buck won’t be there. Something else will be!

Also, feel free to clean up any items or missed trainer battles in here.

Heatran

Make sure to save your game before approaching Heatran.

The same strategies we used on the other legendary Pokémon will be just as effective here. Put it to sleep, paralyze it or freeze it and then whittle its health down into the red.

When its very low on health, go ahead start spamming Ultra or Dusk Balls.

Route 228

Fly back to the Survival Area and head east again. We’re gonna take the eastern exit instead of going north to Stark Mountain this time.

As soon as you enter, you’ll notice that there is a sandstorm happening. This route is a desert biome with a lot of trainers to battle and some “new” Pokémon to catch.

You’ll need the bike in order to fully explore the route.

There is a house with a man who will teach certain Pokémon their “ultimate move.” These are only available to the starter Pokémon from across multiple generations.

Head south to reach the end of the route where you will come to Route 229.

Trainers found on Route 228:

Pokémon found on Route 228:

Route 229

Route 229 is a very short path that bridges The Resort Area with Route 228. It also stretches across the northern part of the Resort Area.

Trainers found on Route 229:

Pokémon found on Route 229:

Resort Area

There is a big building here called the Ribbon Syndicate, but you will need to have at least 10 ribbons across your party. You can then buy more ribbons here, but they don’t offer any stat boosts.

There’s not a whole lot to do here, so head to Route 230 when you’re ready.

Route 230

Ready for the final Route of the game? Well, here we go. The final route is Route 230 and it is a water route that connects the Fight Area to the Resort Area.

About halfway through the route you’ll find a patch of grass that you can explore to find some more Pokémon to catch.

Battle the trainers and surf your way back to the Fight Area.

The End.

Once you’ve reached the Fight Area via Route 230, congratulations! You’ve covered the entire region and have completed the game’s story.

All there is left to do now is catch Pokémon and fill that National Pokédex up. You can do whatever you want. Battle through the Elite Four again, make your way through the Battle Tower, battle your Rival, play around in the Grand Underground and or clean up any missed items or trainer battles.
